hey guys, welcome back to mobile terminals YouTube channel, the channel where we help you find the best Payment Solutions for your business. today we will be toking about Shopify, the world's number one e-commerce platform for all businesses. you've certainly heard about Shopify already, as they Empower more than 1.5 million online businesses, but did you know that Shopify also offers solutions for physical retailers? in fact, as more and more businesses sell both online and in-store, Shopify has developed its own tools for Brick and Mortar businesses. they now offer their own card reader and point of sale solution. help your company become multi-channel as it grows. but as shopify's install payment solution really worth it, do you need an e-commerce website to start using shopify's POS and, of course, it's Shopify pis the best fit for your business. all of these questions will be answered in this video. we also wrote a detailed artikle reviewing shopify's install payment solution to help you make a fully informed decision. the link is in the description. don't hesitate to check it out and, of course, please subscribe to our Channel if you want to get more of these videos in the future. getting started with Shopify install is pretty easy. if you have a Shopify eCommerce website, then your current plan already includes the Shopify POS app. you don't have a Shopify account yet. you can simply create one online and choose the plan that best fits your needs, as all of them include basic peers options. to start accepting install payment with Shopify, the first thing you'll have to do is install the Shopify retail POS app, available on most Android and iOS devices. once you are logged into your Shopify account, the POS app will provide you with an all-in-one solution to run your store, from inventory tracking to staff management and many more. as mentioned, shopify's POS app is already included in all shopify's plans, so you will not be charged anything extra to use the app. nonetheless, if you need a more advanced POS solution with complete business management tools, the Shopify POS Pro app comes with an additional 89 euro per month for establishment. this will enable you to expand the possibilities of your point of sale but Advanced Logistiks, staff management and operation tools. once you're all set with Shopify POS, you simply have to enable Shopify payments in your account settings. enabling Shopify payments means you allow Shopify to process payments for you both online and in store. as a result, all your online and install transactions will be Consolidated on the Shopify platform. now that you have set up Shopify POS and enable Shopify payments. the last thing you require is, of course, to get your card reader. Shopify currently offers a single card reader model in Europe called the wise pad free reader. it can be bought directly on shopify's website for 59 Euros Plus v80. it is a compact, calculator-like device that connects via Bluetooth to your smartphone or tablet equipped with the POS app. it is important to note that the wise pad free reader can only connect with an iPad or iPhone that is running iOS 12 or higher, if it's not compatible with any Android devices. while you can use the Shopify POS app on most Apple and Android devices, the wise pad free reader is limited to recent Apple products only. once you've connected your Apple device with your wisepad free reader, you are ready to accept payments via tap or chip insert. the wise pad 3 currently supports most popular cars such as Visa, Mastercard and American Express, and mobile wallets such as Apple pay and Google pay. payment methods like discover, JCB and Union pay are not supported yet. finally, if you are running the Shopify POS app on an iPad, then you might also be interested in getting the Shopify retail bundle. this includes the wise pad free reader as well as an iPad. stand for your countertop the bundle on shopify's online hardware store for 169 Euros, Plus v80. please note the stands compatible with 9.7 inch iPads only. shopify's pricing plans are very transparent, so it is quite easy to know how much you will be paying in total based on your sales volume, no matter the size and type of your business. hi, my name is dan. i serve as the director of auxiliary services. on a scale of one to five, i would give shopify pos a five out of five, and for more reviews like this, please click below. so before transitioning to shopify pos, we literally were using a third party vendor to run, kind of our bookstore and whatnot. and when that contract was over and we brought our bookstore in-house, uh, we were looking for a solution that would allow us to be able to sell both in-person and online. and after doing a significant amount of research, we were able to find shopify pos, which allowed us to be able to sell right here, with the convenience of an ipad, and allowed us to be able to sell to our students, our staff, our faculty, and it was just a fantastik decision. so several of the reasons why we love shopify pos is, first of all, you get to run a store on an ipad. it really doesn't get any simpler than that. it also has a great feature where you can integrate with a cash drawer and a receipt printer, again both connected to that ipad. that makes things real simple, not having to buy super expensive hardware or third-party solutions there. another thing i love is the fact that i can click and send an email or a text receipt to the person who's checking out, eliminating the need for a physical receipt if that's what they choose. i also love that shopify pos allows me to customize the interface on the ipad so i can move buttons around, i can customize buttons, i can add discounts. all of that is customizable, which really makes things simple for us here. you can actually also scan barcodes. so for us, we've got some barcodes on our merchandise and you can literally take the ipad, scan that barcode and it recognizes it right away, adds it to the customer's cart. the last thing that's great is that you can use. you can accept cash. you can use their own built-in shopify payments or use a third party, a third party vendor, for your payment processing, which gives a lot of versatility. so those are some of the great reasons why we really love shopify pos. getting started with shopify pos was literally a piece of cake. um, i'm i'm a pretty tik savvy person, but some of my team members were not so tik savvy. um, and the interface, the setup, um, it gives you a lot of control behind the scenes on the control panel and how you're setting things up, so, literally building out your inventory. these, these things were all very, very simple to do, so when it came time to actually open up our shop, we felt like we had a really strong partner with shopify pos and just made the whole implementation process very, very simple. one of my recommendations, if you're considering shopify pos with other solutions, is to really think about whether you can create a single, a single inventory database to be able to both sell in person and online. that's a significant selling point for using shopify pos: the simplicity of being able to do online orders while also selling in person out of a single inventory- we haven't been able to find another vendor who does that well- and being able to have that single- all that inventory under one umbrella, is a- was a strong consideration for us and i'd encourage you to check that out as well.

hi, I'm Taylor and I work on the point-of-sale team here at Shopify. if you want to get a deeper understanding of Shopify point-of-sale, you've come to the right place. we'll review capabilities like the smart grid and global search that allow you to customize your point-of-sale for your retail store workflows. enhanced retail permissions that give staff access to only the things they need, and features like buy online, pick up in store that create a seamless experience everywhere your brand lives. I'm going to hand it over to Jamal, retail solutions engineer, to go over the powerful and intuitive features in Shopify POS. over to you, Jamal. thanks, Taylor. hi everyone, I'm Jamal. the first aerial focus on is how Shopify point-of-sale streamlines store management. when you open the Shopify point-of-sale app, you see the login screen. each staff member can choose a unique login pin. the login pins help you track the order and cash register activity of your staff members. after you log into the point-of-sale app, you can see the name of the staff member who was logged in, connectivity status and menu to navigate to the other areas of the app. this group of rectangular tiles is called the smart grid. simply tap a tile to complete an action. to create a new tile, click Add tile. from here, you can add actions, apps, product collections, discounts, links to websites like your online store or specific products. we're adding a tile to keep track of notes on a customer order. you can move tiles around to better suit your workflows. the smart grid also adapts to cart actions. right now you see that many of the tiles in the smart grid are grayed out to remove visual clutter. after a product is added to the cart, actionable tiles light up. you can also check the status of your connectivity and hardware right from the home screen. from here, you can manage connected devices. Shopify offers a wide range of point-of-sale hardware that are fully integrated with the point-of-sale, like card readers, receipt printers and barcode scanners. now let's take a look at stack permissions. at a glance, you can see a list of staff and their assigned roles. staff profiles include their contact details, assigned role and unique pin to access the point-of-sale. each role has unique permissions to complete point-of-sale actions and access data. in the Shopify admin, you can create custom roles: a keyholder, store manager, store associate or whatever suits your business. next let's take a look at how Shopify point-of-sale helps you convert online and in-store traffic into sales. to avoid shipping fees and get products faster, local customers can place online orders for local pickup. by adding the tile view pick up orders on your point-of-sale app, you and your staff can see incoming pickup orders. from here you can quickly see which orders need to be prepared and which orders are packed and ready for pickup. click an unfulfilled order to see the order details so you can start packing the items for pick up. after you package and label the order, send the customer notification to let them know it's ready for pickup. when the customer arrives, staff can easily find the order and mark the order is picked up. it's that easy. another great way to make sales is by giving your customers the option to buy and store and ship directly to their home. this is partikularly useful if you don't have all of your inventory in the same location. here we have a customer that's looking for a black medium short sleeve t-shirt but can't find it in the retail store. first we can look up the product and confirm that it's available to ship from another location. we add it to the cart. here we've added the tile shipped to customer right in the smart grid. for quick access, we tap on the tile to start the buy and store shipped a home check out. the next step is to enter the customer shipping address. the shipping costs are automatikally calculated based on where the item will ship from and where it's going. the rates you see here are the same ones you set in the shop of my admin for online orders. you can complete the checkout and send the customer the receipt. all of the new information you collected is now part of the customers profile, including the order that they just made. next, if they found an item that they really like, you can add it to the cart and offer to send it to them in an email so they can buy it online when it's convenient. you can even add a custom message to your email. these are just some of the ways that Shopify point-of-sale helps you make more sales. now that we've covered how to make sales, let's discuss how to capture customer information and keep them coming back to your store. in Shopify point-of-sale, you can create new customer profiles before or after a transaction is complete. the more customer shops at your store, the more information is added to their customer profile, like how long someone has been a customer, total number of orders and even the total amount of spend in your stores. you can also see the customers full order history, including their online orders. even if a customer has made a purchase online, you can easily look up their order to process a refund, exchange or look up the size and color of the item to make a recommendation. customer profiles also include contact information, shipping addresses and any notes from previous interactions. every business is unique when it comes to providing a great loyalty program to its customers. in the Shopify app store, you can choose a loyalty program app that's right for your business. you can even add a tile in your smart grid for quick access. when products and customers are added to the cart, the apps tile populates with details about available rewards. this makes it easy to offer rewards to loyal customers, whether they shop online or in person. to learn more about getting started with Shopify point-of-sale and the features we discussed today, subscribe now for a point of sale playlist. if you have any questions, then comment below or visit help dot Shopify com for more information.

the all-new Shopify POS streamlines the checkout process, making it easier than ever to make a sale in your retail store or your pop-up event. by using an improved search function, barcode scanning or the new smart grid, your checkout becomes a fluid and custom experience. hey, everyone is to tango with Shopify. today we're showing you the framework you need to process a basic sale in Shopify POS. this includes adding products to the cart, accessing customer information, adding discount codes, as well as taking payments and issuing receipts. processing the sale is the primary function of any point-of-sale system, and the all new Shopify POS makes this process as simple as possible. let's begin by adding products to the cart to sell. the basic way to access your product is to use the global search bar in the top left of the screen. type in your search terms, whether it's the product, variant, vendor name or any relevant identifying information, and you will see a list of products that match your search. the new global search also shows any related orders or customers in the other tabs. tapping on the item opens a list of product variants from here. tapping the product again adds that product to the cart. if you tap view details, you see additional information about that product, including its price, inventory, quantities, description and other organizational information. from this screen, you can also tap the Add to Cart button to add this product to the cart. if your products have barcodes attached to them, you can add these products to the cart by scanning the barcode using the 1d or 2d Bluetooth barcode scanners available in the Shopify hardware store or by using the POS device camera. tap the barcode icon in the search bar at the top of the home screen to launch the camera. then point the camera at the barcode to scan the product. once you've scanned the product, the item displays along the bottom of the screen. you can tap the view details for more product information or you can tap Add to Cart to add the product to the cart. now that you've added a product or two, you can add a customer. adding a customer isn't required, but if you do, the order can give you a better and standing of how your customers interact with your store. this can help you take advantage of marketing opportunities in the future. to add a customer to the car, use the add customer smart grid tile or tap more actions and then tap Add customer. from here, search for any existing customers in the search bar or tap new customer to add new customer details. when you search for a customer, your previous customers with information relevant to your search terms are displayed in a list below. once you find the customer you're looking for, tap on their name to add them to the cart. you can also tap on view details to see more information about them, like their order history, contact information, customer tags or any additional notes. from here, tap Add to Cart to add this customer to the cart. if you're creating a new customer, the first name of the customer is a required field, but it's also helpful to ask for their email address or phone number as well. there are also fields for company address or additional notes if you want to remember these details about your customer back on the home screen. there are two different ways to add discounts to the cart. the first is for specific item in the cart, which is called a line item discount, or you can add a discount to the entire cart. to issue a discount to an individual line item, tap the item in the cart that you'd like to discount. then tap applied discount. there are three options for what kind of discount you wish to offer: either a dollar amount, a percentage amount or a price override. the price override button allows you to quickly set a new price that you would like to offer for the customer. for example, if a product price is $25 but you'd like to change the price to 15, you can simply type in the new price in the override section. another option is to apply a discount to all line items in the cart at the same time. for this example, we have two items in the cart and we want to apply a discount to the subtotal. tap more actions in the top right corner and then tap add discount. three discount options are dollar amount, percentage amount or discount code. a discount code is either a preset percentage or dollar discount that you create in the discount section of the Shopify admin. these can be used by customers both online and in-store. to learn how to create discount codes, watch the video linked above. after you've added the products, customer information or discount codes, it's time to begin the checkout process. tap the checkout button in the bottom right corner of the screen. you're now presented with all the payment types that you've previously enabled in Shopify POS, including cash, gift card, Shopify payments or any custom payment types you've added. tap a payment type to begin the payment process. in this example, we're selecting cash and have the option to choose between suggested cash amounts or to type in another amount. selecting one of the suggested cash options automatikally completes the checkout and displays the change due from the cash. once the checkout is complete, you'll see your receipt options. email and text receipts are always displayed or, if you have a receipt printer connected to your Shopify POS, you also see options for printed or gift receipts. after your transaction is complete, tap done, the transaction is now complete and you'll be taken back to the home screen. that's it. you've now learned how to complete a basic checkout, including adding customer information and discounts to the cart. if you'd getting started with a new point-of-sale system can seem stressful. between understanding how the app works and getting your hardware set up, you might be wondering where to start. today, we're taking you through a comprehensive checklist to set up the all new Shopify point-of-sale. hey everyone, its Ali with Shopify. if you're new to the channel, subscribe now for videos on the all new point-of-sale. you can also find the related help artikles linked below for everything we touch on today when working with this checklist, remember that every business is different, so you might not need to take every action listed in this video. use this checklist as a guide and fit it to your business needs. now let's get started. first, take a look at the pricing plans listed in the description and see what options suits your business best. there's something for everyone, whether you're using the POS app occasionally at pop-up shops or if you're looking to create a full in-store retail experience. explore the options and features that each plan comes with and make your selection today. then download the all new POS app on an iOS device. currently, the all new Shopify POS is compatible with Apple iOS devices. you can use an iPad or iPhone that is operating on an iOS system of 11 or higher to use the POS app. next, activate the locations where you're going to be selling in person. your Shopify plan determines how many locations you can activate. a location can be a pop-up shop, farmers market, brick-and-mortar store or wherever your business takes you. now it's time to set up your Shopify admin. if you don't have products in your Shopify store yet, start by adding the products that you're going to sell. you can do this by uploading products one by one or, if you have a large inventory, you can upload products in bulk using a CSV file and if you already have products added, make sure they are available to sell on the POS sales channel using the product availability section. you can edit inventory as you add new products, or you can edit inventory using a CSV file or the bulk editor shown here. in the alley Athletik Store, we have two locations, one in San Francisco and one in New York, so use the bulk editor to enter product inventory for each location. you can also give customers the choice to buy in store and have their products shipped to their home. to do this, you need to have your shipping settings set up, with shipping zones and rates. watch our playlist linked above to learn more about setting up your shipping profiles. if you're planning on using a barcode scanner to add products that check out, then you need to add barcodes to all of your products. you can create barcodes by using the retail barcode labels app and printing them in bulk from your admin. next on the list is a thorough review of your tax settings. Shopify uses default sales tax rates, which are updated regularly. if you use the default tax rates, you need to confirm that they're current and correct for your business. if you need to, you can override Shopify's default tax rates, but since taxes are different in every region, you should check with a local tax specialist to make sure you're setting the appropriate tax rates for your business. next, you need to setup a payment gateway. the location of your store determines what type of payments or payment gateways are available to you. keep in mind that if you're planning on using Shopify Hardware like a card reader, then you need to enable Shopify payments. as a store owner, create different staff roles, like assistant manager or sales associate, then set permissions for each role and assign staff members to the roles. you can set permissions so staff members can log into the Shopify admin or so they can only log into the POS. you might decide to add third-party apps that are compatible with Shopify POS. consider using a customer loyalty program like smile, or using an inventory management app like stitch labs. add any POS compatible apps directly through your Shopify admin. if you plan to sell physical gift cards, then you need to activate the gift card feature in the Shopify admin. then it's time to order gift cards and other hardware for selling in person. you can order from the Shopify hardware store at Hardware Shopify comm and, depending on where you live, you see different hardware options available for purchase. now let's set up the POS app. when you first log into the all-new Shopify POS app, you need to set which location this POS will be used at. this is important because any adjustments you make in the app are saved to that partikular location. next, you need to enable the payment types you plan to accept payments with. this means toggling on Shopify payments, cash, gift cards and creating any custom payment types if needed. after you receive your hardware from the Shopify hardware store, you need to connect it, select which hardware piece you're connecting and follow the instructions for setup on the home screen. customize the smart grid so you have quick access to frequent actions like add a customer, search collections, add discount codes or whatever you and your staff need. now you know how to setup the all new POS and the Shopify admin and the app itself. subscribe now for the next video in this series from the Shopify Help Center. if you have any questions, comment below or contact us directly at help Shopify dot-com. slash questions.

hi there, my name is bridget hodge. i am one of fit small businesses retail experts and today we're going to be taking a look at shopify's point of sale software. so we're going to be taking a look at the setup process, the point of sale features, as well as some of the other features that come along with your shopify subscription. so let's get started. so i've gone ahead and i've signed up for shopify. one thing you should note about shopify as a compared to other point of sale software's like square or lightspeed, is that in order to access shopify's point of sale software, you have to sign up for one of their e-commerce plans. those plans range from nine dollars to 299 dollars per month, depending on the size of your business and what you need from the plan. but only through those e-commerce plans will you get spot shopify point of sale from there. you also have two plan options within your point of sale. you can get the light option, which is free with any uh shopify plan, or you can get the pro option, which is eighty nine dollars per month per location, on top of your ecommerce plan. uh, the main difference between those two plans is the pro plan will have a couple more um analytiks, features and um. it also allows for a couple more checkout features, all of which is enumerated in our shopify point of sale review. but moving on from that um here, once you have a signed up for your shopify account, you will be brought to your home page where you will be prompted through a bunch of setup guides, so you will have a how to start your shipping video as well. there's a whole library of videos that you may access and that come up on the screen as you move through your setup process. so the first thing that you will be prompted to do is add a product. this will go into your inventory library and these products um. when you go to add a product, the product page has a ton of useful information. um, where you can include the title, a description. you can have um media. you can tell what sales channels it's going to be. a part of sales channels is something we'll get into later. you include include its price, it's barcode, its unit price from the manufacturer, supplier, um. this will help you keep track of your margin and your profits as you sell through things. and then all sorts of shipping information, including weight, where it's from, where it could be going, uh, things along those lines. so then, with uh and it, you'll be prompted through all of these setup guides. not a ton of these are pertinent to the point of sale system. they are more pertinent to setting up your shopify online store, which we also have a ton of information on on the fit small business website. so we're going to take a little look at some of the features that are accessible to you once you are a shopify customer. so, over here you have all of your most important categories, things that you need to access at a glance, so you'll have your orders, where this will keep track of all of your online orders, um, so you can manage them right here from your dashboard. you'll have your inventory library, which is going to be tracking inventory across your sales channels, across different uh sales platforms, and then- this is a very helpful thing- you have your customer library. this, again, is going to be synced across your online, in-person and other sales channels. all of your customer data will be stored right here, um, and additionally with, if you do use a shopify website, every time a customer enters their information on a shopify website, they will be added to your customer library. in addition to your customer library, you will also have your finances, where you can look at your sales, your gross profit margin, your earnings, your spendings. all of this will be tracked here, live with your sales, between all of your sales channels, so you can get a live overview of your finances at any point um there's, you can take a look at your balances, your billing, your payouts. all of that will be tracked right here, which makes accounting so much easier. and then another important thing that's um a huge deal with point of sale systems is your analytiks and reporting capabilities, which shopify has a very comprehensive analytiks and reporting. so not only do you have your finances that are going to be tracked, so you can keep your own personal um accounts in line. this is a ton of analytiks about your store performance, so you'll have your total sales, your online store sessions, as well as a bunch of other reports that you can add to your main analytiks dashboard. in addition, with the shopify shopify plan, you will be sent daily reports about your doors, your daily performance in your store, so all of this is built in automatikally to all of these shopify accounts. then, if you have any marketing initiatives, there's also a place to track that here, um whether you are wanting to tracking them on apps or if you have a marketing software that you're running, you can track had their performance here, which is great if you're trying to assess their effectiveness and how they're working with your customer base. um, and then, another great thing about shopify is they make it extremely easy to give promotions and manage those promotions and discounts, both in your online store and in in-person checkout, which we will look at in just a moment. um. here you will also have all of your apps right accessible on your dashboard. so that could be, if you have a loyalty app, if you have a um, a marketing app of any kind, if you have downloaded something to your point of sale system and it is performing in your store, you can track it here and access it here. um, from there we'll just return to the home screen real quick. another great thing about shopify that we have highlighted throughout our artikle about shopify and that really makes it stand out as a point of sale competitor, is how seamlessly it can sync your omnichannel sales channels, um, and what i mean by that is from your inventory to your analytiks, to your point of sale systems home page, to track and maintain your online store, your instagram shop. your in-person store is absolutely seamless with shopify. so let's take a look at those sales channels. so obviously, you'll have your online store, which you will design and set up and begin selling. this comes with all shopify accounts, um, unless you choose the shopify lite plan, in which case you can add the shopify buy button to a third party website and that buy button will sync with your um point of sale and shopify account in general, all the analytiks and all the sales from that buy button. um, speaking of the buy button, here's where you can track that sales channel, where you can. this- and this again is a button that says buy that you can incorporate into third-party websites. so this is shopify's way of saying you can use our product and use all of the tools we have on a different platform. you don't have to have a shopify website, and the light plan, where you just get the buy button, is 9.99 a month and also comes with point of sale light. so then, if you have a google store, if you have a facebook shop, all of those can be tracked right in your sales channels, but the one that we're going to really take a deep dive in right now is the point of sale sales channel. so this is for all of your brick and mortar sales. there is a corresponding app. this is a recommended that you use this on a tablet device. so there's a corresponding app that has the actual um place where you can scan your barcodes and perform transactions. but then here on your dashboard is where you can manage your point of sale system, and by that i mean so you have your overview here. this will help you get things set up um and get you selling within this app. but the features that we'll be taking a look at is you can add your staff members, give them a status, and that status has specific controls, things that they can access. so let's say i am signing up a new person and adding a new staff member. they will have an individual pin that they can log into to perf to use our point of sale s.
