👉How to Create Shopify Policies | Privacy, Terms & Services, Refund Policy, Shipping Policy🔒

hi guys, in this video i am going to show you that how you can add the policies into your store properly. so there are different policies like privacy policies, uh terms and service, refund policy and shipping policy. so let me show you one example that how people are making the mistakes. so you can see that i have this store of my uh friend and he added the uh default template of the shopify, but there are a lot of issues inside of it. you can see that, uh, he has not added these placeholders. these are as it is. he has just copied and pasted the things, but have not uh cross checked that. this is not. these things are not required. all right, so we need to filter few things which are not needed. so i will be showing you step by step that how you can add uh policies into your store- uh, properly, right? so first of all, you need to go to your dashboard- so here i have the dashboard- and then you need to click on settings. so once you will be clicking on settings, then you will be seeing on the right hand side we have legal. so once you are clicking on this legal link, then you will be redirected to this page where we have refund policy, privacy policy, terms of service and shipping policy, all right. so let me show you how you will be adding all these things. so, first thing is like refund policy. so shopify is always providing a template. template means uh pre-formatted things which are mostly common to all the stores. so, for example, i am clicking on this button, create from template, so you can see that all the things has been automatikally filled here. uh, for example, in: uh the common, uh common thing is like: if we are refunding anything, then at that time we have the 30 days refund policy. after that we, the seller, will not be accepting the, accepting the product, right? so this means that you have the 30-day warranty or maybe guarantee, right? so whatever email address you have added into your store, that would be shown over here. if you are interested to uh get the notification on the or maybe uh giving the support to your customers through another email address, so you can add that one over here. and here we have all the important things like damages and issues, exception, non-refundable returnable items, so all the things you can mention here. so, by default, all the things which are uh mentioned here. these are relevant, so we need not uh edit these things right, so this means that we have refund policy. that is okay now. so if you want, you can add more things. then after we have privacy policy. so this is the important thing. first of all, you need to click on create from template, so you will be getting this type of template by shopify itself, so you have to make some editing inside of it, because this is the common thing and you have to make some changes. so, firstly, you have these things like placeholders, so you have to remove this placeholder from here. then we have another placeholder here and below this we have one more placeholder, so we also need to remove this. then we have disclosure for a business purpose, so we also need to remove this. then after we have a customer support information example of personal information collection collected. so all the things you have to modification of the information listed below are additional- uh, additional information as needed, right, so you need not the this thing over here. and discloser for business purpose- this is also not required, so you need to remove all these things from here. then after you have to go down below. so we have another thing here, so we also need to remove this. then we have behavioral advertisement. insert it applicable, if applicable. for example, you have google analytiks connected with your shopify store, so here you can mention that you have the shopify analytiks, where you are tracking everything, all right, but you need to remove the placeholders which are over here, because we have not needed these things. and, lastly, we have this one uh. then you have to go down and here you can see that we have different uh social media accounts. so if you have, they are providing shopify is providing default, like mostly people are using facebook, google, bing, so if you want, you can edit over here you can paste your accounts link, so placeholder is not required here. if you have additional uh additional things like instagram and other social media accounts, so you can also mention over here. so you need to modify these links. these are important, right. then you have to go down and here also need to remove this and lawful basis include all these applies. so you have to remove this retention. and then automatik decision making [Music], for example. you are, we do or do not engage in fully automatik decision making that has a legal or otherwise significant effect using customer service. so you have to add do or do not. so you need to add one of them, not both. so, for example, i am adding here we do engage in fully automatik decisions, then we have additional, additionally, these things. this is also a placeholder, so we need not add here. then we have selling personal information. so, for example, customer has some personal information and if you are collecting those details and you are selling to other companies, other third parties, so here we have the those things, so you have to remove this placeholder. and if you are interested to mention the specific things like email address, phone number or store name or your name, so you can mention uh in the list, right, then you have your rights. include the following section: if you, your store is located in or if you have customers in europe- so, for example, your store is located in europe, then these below below policies are important, all right. so if you, you are living in europe- i am considering you that you are living in europe. if you are not, then you have to remove this gdpr, ccpa. these two are applied only for customers who are uh, who are living in europe, and you are selling to the european countries, right? so you also have to remove this one, this placeholder. you need to remove all the placeholders, but these policies are applied only on uh european customers. all right, so these two policies, like ccpa and gdpr- and you also need to remove this placeholder from here. then we have cookies- all right, so these policies are common and we have to keep as it is- report and analytiks. and then we have this placeholder and we have not needed this anymore and if you will go down, you will see that we have the contact details here, so you have to modify the contact details. for example, uh, i am just removing uh, here my contact details. so if you are interested, you can add your contact details here right then. last updated. for example, you are updating your policies today, so you have to mention uh, the date here. for example, i am updating in 31st of 31st of october 2020, so i have to mention here right then after. on the down below, we have information of the website. for example, you have any website, so you can mention here the website name, all right. so, for example, i have my own personal website, so let me tell you that rem zn malik dot in, so this is my website, so people can connect me through this website. all right, https colon, double forward slash and this then after: uh. so we finalized the uh privacy policies. so make sure that you have to modify the contact details here. i have just written three dots so you have to modify these uh contact details of your store, which i mean your office contact number as well as address. all right, so we are finished with privacy policy. this is important. so we have removed all the filtered, all the placeholders, which was not useful. then we have terms of service, so you also have to create from template. so this is also okay, because we don't have any type of placeholder here. so, yeah, this is good enough. so if there will be any placeholder, so you have to remove that. so all the things down below. you have to mention your email id. so i have already written by default the email id through which your store is connected. that would be over here. so if you want, you can modify that email.

How To Add Your Refund Policy To Shopify (+4 More Important Pages)

hey guys, how's it going? my name is Matt and I wanted to show you how you can easily create your legal pages in Shopify. so this is like your terms and condition page, your Privacy Policy, return policy, shipping policy- all those pages can be easily created and Shopify. so let me go ahead and jump into my computer and I'll show you exactly how to create them really quick and easy. alright, guys, so I just created a quick test store to show you, guys, exactly how to do this really quick and easy. so if you're in your Shopify dashboard, you're just gonna go right down here bottom left corner and click on settings. then, when you're in settings, you're gonna go to this legal tab and once you're there, this is where you fill out your refund policy, privacy policy, terms and conditions, our Terms of Service and shipping policy. so the easy way to do this- and this is what I'd recommend doing- is just hit create template. so this is gonna all just some generic return policy that you can use in your store and it'll show up and it will autofill your store's website and your contact information. what I'd recommend: if you're using your helm address' and don't have like a business address, I'd go in here and actually delete any place that has your address and just leave your email instead. so, like right here, I would delete that because that is your personal home address and right here is also. so that's what I'd recommend doing: just going through and kind of cleaning these up, making sure it looks good how you want it for your store. so we'll do the same thing for privacy policy and again you'll just go through and privacy policy actually has these places for you to insert information. I usually don't insert anything, I just like delete the sections so you can see they're in bold here. I can just delete all those. so all of this you don't need, and just kind of go through and clean it up. make sure there's nothing out of the ordinary. let's see now that another one, the bat and miners. I'm not gonna worry about that because I sell anything. and again, here's your home address. get rid of that Terms of Service once again and go through. make sure everything looks good. it's very easy, guys, it's very simple. so just do this quick. make sure your home address or anything isn't done here, okay, and then shipping policy: you're gonna go ahead and just fill this out yourself. I would put here you'd put your processing time, for how long it takes for you or your manufacturer to send out your product, as well as the shipping time. so, ten twenty day shipping, five, seven day shipping, whatever you have, just go ahead and make you know right to let a nice little paragraph in here, and so people can know your shipping times. now, this isn't everything you need to do, though. so this, all this template does is allow people to click on it during your checkout. what you need to do once you save this- so hit save- you need to actually create pages for each one of these things and make them easily found in your site, so I'll show you how to do that. if you go, in fact, let's open a new tab here. what you're gonna do is go into pages underneath sales channel online store pages, and you're gonna hit add page and this is where I just copy and paste and this stuff. so you have a refund policy. I'd copy that command a and command C to select it all. if you're on a Windows, it's control, so you just go ahead and do that. now you have a refund policy page. next, you're gonna add another page. do the same thing for all of these. so we'll just go through and do this real quick: Terms of Service [Music] and you'll want to do fun for your shipping policy - I didn't write anything, but when you write something, just go ahead and put it in here - so now we have different pages for each one of these things and you're gonna want to put these in your menu. so if you go to navigation, there's a footer menu and a main menu. you can put it in either. I'd probably put it in both. these are kind of important pages, but let's go ahead and I'll show you how to add it to your footer menu. so all you're gonna do is hit add menu item search links, go to pages and just click on each one of those. so add pages. refund policy: add pages. shipping policy: add and pages Terms & Conditions: add so, and I'll get rid of this search actually. so now these are just gonna show up in your footer. so if we hit save menu, show you what this looks like. if you go ahead here and open your store, you'll see now that each one of these have a page. you have a page for your privacy policy or refund policy. you click on them and it'll just take them right to the information. that's it guys. super simple, super easy. you just go into Shopify and you can just use the pre-made ones and just clean them up yourself. very easy to do but very essential for your store. if you like to that, go ahead and like the video, and if you want to hear more from me, subscribe, and I'm constantly releasing stuff on business and Shopify. if you have any questions or if I missed anything, go ahead and leave a comment down below. otherwise I'll see you guys in the next video. thank you.

your privacy policy is something that you need to have on your drop shipping stores, whether you're Drop Shipping on Shopify, Wix, woocommerce or any other host that lets you create your own website. this is a video that you have to watch in order to learn how to create your own privacy policies, which is good for your own protection. so, even if you have no idea what these things are, or if you've heard about it, but you're not sure how to go about it, in this video I'm going to simplify the whole process for you and provide you with the best templates to use for your stores. quick intro and let's go. I know that this is not the most interesting lesson that you can learn for your eCommerce stores, but it is a must. you're serious about your business. you don't want to get any wrong lawsuits or anything that you did wrong on your website. you didn't tell the customer exactly what his privacy policy is, what you're doing with the cookies, what you're doing with their Privacy Information, and in this video, I'm going to break that hole down for you. so here I'm going to introduce the best privacy policy generators, but we're not only going to tok about privacy policies, but also the rest of the policy pages that you need in your legal pages on your website. so we're going to go over all of that, starting right now, one second before we get started. if you haven't done so yet, do not forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel to always stay updated and learn about the next step for your eCommerce business. go to our YouTube channel, subscribe and don't stop learning, but also, while you're learning, don't also forget to take action. one has to come with the other. now, before I start, remember that everything that I'm going over in this video, you can also learn about it in the blog artikle, which I'll leave a link to right below this video in the description. but I always like to throw in extra value into these videos, so, of course, stay tuned, especially if you are the type that likes to watch. so, privacy generators- why do we even need them? a privacy policy is a legal document that discloses what personal data our websites collect from users, from anyone who's viewing our website, and how we process that information and what we do with that data- what we do with that information. even if you have a Shopify store or a WIC store and you're not really doing anything with the customer's information. there are still things that are going on in the background from the host, from Shopify, Wix or whoever it may be- and you need to know about these things because these things need to be written in your privacy policy pages, in your legal pages, and if you go to any website, any brand, they all have policy Pages, whether it's on the header menu on the top or on the footer menu on the bottom. this is something that every website has, every business needs to have for their own protection and, of course, for the reader's protection. so we've got privacy policies and we're also going to throw in shipping policies, return policies, terms of service and frequently asked questions. these are all very important Pages for you to have, but we're going to start with the most important: the privacy policy. so what do we need to include in the privacy policy in our Shopify stores- and when I say Shopify, of course, if you're on Wix, it's also good there. if you're on woocommerce or any other host that allows you to host your online store and have your own domain name and customize your whole website. I'm not toking about marketplaces, like if you're Drop Shipping on eBay or Facebook Marketplace or Amazon. they all have their privacy policies done for you, but on these websites, where it's fully customizable for you, you have to do it on your own. first, the things that we need to include in our privacy policies: how your website collects personal data, how your website stores the personal data, and what your customers privacy rights are, or your online Shoppers, or the viewers who didn't even purchase anything from your website. all of this information needs to be inside. so what needs to be in there? for example, the name, the username, the phone number, the customer's email address, their shipping address, their credit card details, their billing addresses. what are you going to do with all that information? you need to disclose exactly what you're doing, and this will be a part of your privacy policy. now, guys, do not be afraid. we've got ready-made templates. just let me get to it, but you need to understand the importance of it first. so let's keep going in your privacy policy. you've also got things like what you're doing with the browser type that you know that the viewer is on, and their device ID, their IP addresses, the cookie data. what are you doing with the customers? cookie information which you're you are getting when they are entering your website and, of course, website referrals. so those are some of the things that you have to include in your privacy policy. what are our customers privacy rights? our customers right is for them to know exactly how we can edit or delete their personal information, how to opt out of cookies and other tracking tools. we need to provide them with that information and contact information, for if our store users would want to inquire their privacy rights, you're going to have to be able to send it to them now. granted, I've been doing this for a while and no customers have ever reached out to me and asked me for their privacy rights, but as long as you have it up there, no one is going to ask you for it now. besides that, we all live in different places around the world and, with that, we all have different rules, so you need to also check locally. what are the institutional laws that you have in your country in regards to your customers privacy? now, in most cases, you may not learn anything new here, since everything will be included, but that's also something that you should know now. here's how to help you with how to comply with all of the countries around the world, and this is something that you all need to know. bear with me, guys, once again. I know it's not the most interesting topic, but you have to know this for your own protection. so stay with me and let's continue. the European Union in the United Kingdom both have this thing called the gdpr- that stands for the general data protection regulation- and as long as your privacy policy complies with the gdpr, then you won't have any problems. you won't have any issues, as it will be relevant for most countries around the world, and here is the info that we need to provide in our privacy policy to make sure that it is gdpr compliant: the contact details of our Shopify business or wherever we have our selling channel. the contact details of our data protection officer's details. categories of personal information we collect and use. this one is important- how we should lawfully process each type of personal information. so what we're doing with the information that we're getting are guarantee when transferring personal data outside the EU- outside of Europe or outside the UK- and how users can modify and change their personal information, like their contact details and so forth. all of this is important to have inside your privacy policy and, of course, I'm soon going to show you how you can generate these really easily for your websites. now in the United States, there is a federal Privacy Law called the California online privacy protection act, and also the children's online privacy protection rule, so of course, we need to comply with those things if we are Drop Shipping to California. California has different laws than most of other states in the United States. there's also some products that you will try to drop ship to them and you'll notike that shipping carriers will not allow that type of product to be imported into California, and what this means is that websites are simply not allowed to collect personal data, personal information from children under the age of 13.. so children

How To Add Store Policies and Legal Pages on Shopify

hey, what is up guys? it's Brennan here, and today I'm going to be showing you how to add store policies and legal pages on Shopify, and in this video you're going to learn how to add your terms of service, shipping policies, privacy policies and really every type of policy that you may want or need in Shopify. and there are a bunch of templates and free to use- templates that you can customize as well to make it nice and easy. I'm also going to be showing you how to add that into your footer, into your navigation Pages as well, so it's easy for your customers to quickly and easily find these policies listed on your Shopify store. now, if you're brand new to Shopify, you don't already have a Shopify store. I do want to mention that first link down in the description box below, you can go ahead at brambleeskicom Shopify. we'll take you right over to a Shopify free trial. we're going to start with Shopify for free today on that free trial. that's that first link down in the description box below and, without further Ado, let's dive into the tutorials. so, first things first, you're going to want to make sure you're on your Shopify home page in your dashboard- the Shopify dashboard on the home. next you're going to go down to the bottom left hand corner, click on settings. that will take you into your store details and settings. then what you're going to want to do is scroll all the way down here into policies, so the policies section here. then that will take you over to the store policies area, where you can easily add and edit the store policies for your online store. so next, as you can see here, we have the refund policy, privacy policy, terms of service, shipping policy, as well as contact information. so all you have to do within Shopify is Click create from template. now it's important to mention that, of course, even Shopify mentions it here- that these templates aren't legal advice. you know, by using these templates, you agreed that you've read and agreed to the disclaimer. so the disclaimer basically saying: hey, these aren't legal advice, these are just templates for your store policies. it's up to you, to you. you know edit them and customize them specific to your business needs and any other. you know legal requirements. of course. you know consult your own lawyer as to you know what you want to have in these, maybe what you need for your specific business. but all you have to do is Click create from template and, as you can see here, then it will easily create these policies from a template which is really, really nice, makes it super easy for you to be able to get these up and running on your Shopify store. as you can see here, you have your refund policy. you know, by default you have a 30-day refund policy, so you know, of course, if you don't agree with any of the things in these templates, be sure to edit them yourself and make sure that they follow, you know, your specific needs for within your business. feel free to edit them. of course, you know, insert an address for returns or you know anything that you may need, or maybe you don't agree with some of these things, make sure to edit them. you know, add your specific contact us emails or Pages, things that you specifically need within your business, business, and then all you have to do is click save, of course, and that will then save that policy. it will save the store policy. I'll be diving into how to access this policy and make it, you know, available in your navigation as well for customers, but that is all you have to do. for refund policy, you can go in here and edit it as you please and you know, as you can see here, template is generated. then next we have our privacy policy. we're going ahead and click create from template. so, as you can see here, you have your contact us area. you have your personal information section as to like, hey, you know sourcing any collections or you know purposes of the Privacy Paul, or the? um, yeah, the privacy policy or any you know personal information that you're collecting. this is, generally speaking, like above board. you know Shopify. of course, if you're using it, you're agreeing to their terms of service. that you know this is what you're including here as far as, like, all the different Legal Information, uh, when it comes to privacy and things like that. so, generally speaking, this is a good template to go by. of course, you know edit it specifically for you, but you know this is from the Shopify team, so you know they have really covered a lot of the general things that you would need in a privacy policy as well, as far as like specific regions such as, like California or the European Union. you know gdpr, you know things like that, ccpas, things that you would generally need. so, overall, it's a great template to use, but you know be sure to customize it specifically for your needs. next we have the terms of service. click create from template boom. you have your terms of service. so, as you can see here, you know this website is operated by a test store for tutorials 99, so then you have your online store terms, Journal conditions, uh, you know accuracy tools, personal information, prohibited use, disclaimers, anything you may need, as well as, like contact information. you know business information that you want to include there. make sure you go in and edit this yourself. make sure that you agree with everything that is included. next we have our shipping policy. now for shipping policies, this is one that does not actually have a template because it is fairly specific for every business. however, I will include a link down in the description box below as well to shop shopify's blog posts. they have a blog post on shipping policies and they also have a template here. so that's what we're going to be pasting in here in today's video: their General shipping policy. so we're just going to copy this template here. now, of course, it's up to you to edit this specifically for your needs, and this covers generally. you know, everything you may need as far as a template goes. like I said before, this will be linked down the description box below as well, if you want to copy. this template is directly from Shopify, from the Shopify blog for the shipping policy, so you can feel free to edit it. you know this covers everything from domestik rates explained now. it's also important to mention if you are doing Drop Shipping- I know a lot of you guys on my channel are drop shippers- be sure to make sure that you include the specific shipping options as well, in accordance to the suppliers that you're using within your Drop Shipping business. if you're doing that, of course. if you're not Drop Shipping, then you know, of course, just include your, maybe your USPS shipping rates or UPS shipping rates, that X, whatever you're using as your primary carrier. include that here in your shipping options in the template, just so that everything is accurate if people need to check that or if they want to check it. so, obviously, local delivery, if you offer that, if you don't just delete that section, same with in-store pickup. you know international shipping maybe. if international shipping is different than your domestik shipping options, make sure to include that as well, because that's another thing you'll want to cover as well when it comes to shipping. as far as tracking orders, you know you can check if you need order tracking as well, maybe you link out to an order tracking service that you have available. there's a variety of different like order tracking services that you can use in your Shopify store or you could just link out to like a USPS tracking. if everything comes with USPS tracking, just link out to the to the tracking Services page from USPS. you have, you know, PO Boxes, refund policy type, stuff like that, so we're just going to go ahead and paste that in here. uh, as well. so boom, there we go and we have our, you know, status of order, shipping policy, everything you need here. so that is another template. uh, of course, you know, feel free to add this- exactly what you need. and then, as far as contact information, of course this is required if

How to create store policies || Shopify Help Center

Creating policies for your Shopify store is a great way to answer potential questions while also building trust with your customers. Here’s your quick and easy guide on how to create store policies, what to include in them and how to link them to your online store. For everything I show you today, you can find all of the help artikles linked below. Now let’s get started. Hey, everyone Aly here. When you’re creating policies for your store, you can either use one of the default templates Shopify provides and make any necessary changes, or write the entire policy yourself. For now, Shopify provides the templates in English, So if you need another language, use the default template and translate it to suit your businesses needs. From your Shopify admin, click “Settings”, Then click “Legal”. Here you have text boxes for different types of policies. Let’s start with the refund policy and work our way down. A good refund and return policy can help protect your company and win your customers’ trust. It’s extremely important to use both clear and concise language. A refund policy should answer the following questions: How long does the customer have to return the item? In what condition can items be returned? Will a refund be issued and, if so, how much? And will the refund be issued to a store credit or back to the customer using the same payment method they used to make the original purchase. How do exchanges work? Do you offer returns or refunds on sale items, And who will pay for return shipping should an item need to be returned? If you already know what information you want to include, then enter it in the text box. Otherwise, click “Create from template” to use Shopify’s free refund policy generator. The template is a great start, but I recommend going through and making adjustments to better suit your business. For example, at AlyAthletiks, our return policy is 20 days from when their package arrived, or 20 days from the date of purchase in store, So I’ll make that change. Next, let’s look at the Privacy Policy. This is a legal document that describes all the ways your business uses your customers data. It lets your customers know exactly which personal information is being gathered, how it’s being used and how it’s being protected Under Privacy Policy. click “Create from template”. Privacy policies can be intimidating because they're so detailed, but take the time to review the information and edit it to match your businesses policies. For example, if you’re sharing this data with other vendors, then include that information here. Next up, Terms of Service. This is a legal document developed to protect your company. It tells your customers what is legally required of them if they use your services, like your website or mobile app. Under Terms of Service, click “Create from template”, Review the information and make then any changes. The template provided is very thorough, so you might not need to make very many changes at all, But if you’re ever unsure, you can always consult with a legal advisor in your area. Finally, the shipping policy. You might notike that there is no default template provided here. Because shipping is so custom for each business, you need to create a policy that reflects your shipping guidelines. And because Covid19 has brought shipping delays and increased carrier costs, it's more important than ever to keep your shipping policy up to date. Try to include the following information: Order processing times: After an order is placed, how many days will it take to get the order ready to ship? This is partikularly important information around holidays. Domestik and international shipping options. What countries do you ship to And what are the expected delivery times for each country? Shipping costs: Surprise shipping costs at checkout are one of the top reasons people abandon their carts. Be very clear about how much shipping costs and if you offer free shipping, Local options: If you offer local delivery or pickup. you can explain the steps customers need to follow after they place an order- Returns, changes and cancellations- Even though you have a separate returns policy. you can summarize that information here or link out to it so customers can read it before they decide to make a purchase. Include how your business evaluates refunds, order edits, exchanges and what your process is in the event of a lost or damaged order. It’s common to need to update your shipping policy every few months, especially if you add new shipping options and carriers, expand your fulfillment network or antikipate delays. And if you use a dropshipping service like Oberlo, then your shipping policy needs to reflect Oberlo’s guidelines. Check out the video linked above about Oberlo shipping settings and how to create shipping policies for a dropshipping business. My personal preference is to write my shipping policy in another text editor, like Google Docs, so I can take my time with it, But also so I can save it as a backup, since I’m not working from a default template like the other policies. When you have your Shipping policy created, paste it into the text box, Then click “Save”. to finish, Now that your policies are created, you need to make sure that your customers can easily find them. Store policies are usually linked in the footer menu at the bottom of the online store, like in this example. Let’s jump back into the Shopify admin. Click “Online store”, then “Navigation” From here, click “Footer Menu”, Click “Add menu item” and then give the menu item a name like “Refund Policy”. This is the name that customers will see on your store. In the search field under “Link”, find and select “Policies” and then click “Refund Policy”. Click “Add” to finish, To include all of the policies you just created. repeat these steps for each one. Be sure to click “Save” when you’re done making changes. Your policies are now live. You can preview them by clicking the eye icon next to “Online store”. Then scroll to the bottom of your site to see and test your new links. How To Setup Your Shopify Shipping Policy In Only 5 Minutes! | Dropshipping 2022

what's up, guys? it's alex. so in today's video, i'm going to show you how to set up the shipping policy for your guys's stores and provide you with a template of your own so you guys can tweak this around, change it to meet the needs of your own brand or just leave it the same. it doesn't really matter, but i literally just pulled this off of one of my own websites. so let's get started. okay, so i'll give you guys my shipping policy template in just a moment, but i just want to show you guys how to actually get it set up on your store. so on your shopify dashboard you'll just click settings in the lower left hand corner and then go straight to legal. so this is where you'll see all your policies. i actually have an entire video walking you through these policies, like the refund, the privacy and the terms of service. but a lot of people actually were disappointed because i didn't cover the shipping policy in too much depth, so i'm making an entire video around it now. so the shipping policies right down here. this is where you would literally just type it or copy and paste from a template and just throw it in there and save. but to actually add it to your store. you'll want to go to online store navigation and then these are your menu items. so you you would click add menu, add menu item and then you'll just name that whatever it is. so in this case we'll just write shipping policy and then, uh, the link at the bottom- this is where you would post the actual policy. so under links you'll go, you'll click policies, and there's no actual policies to add right now because we haven't created it yet. but once you do, it would say shipping policy and then you just click add and you're good to go. so let's move over to the actual shipping policy right now and i'll walk you guys through it, okay? so, like i mentioned before, i literally just pulled the shipping policy off of one of my own stores and it's not exactly as customized and personalized to my brand as some of my shipping policies are. so it should fit right into your own store. but you might want to change a couple things around depending on your own policies and the way you guys can conduct business yourselves. so shipping policy is very important. i don't know the actual stats behind it, but there's a certain percentage of people that read them before actually making a purchase and a lot of your abandoned carts can occur because you either have a bad shipping policy or no shipping policy in place. so you might want to look into some of those stats because they're very important and you can look for ways to drive sales additionally. but let's move into the actual shipping policy. so i'll leave this in the description below. you guys should be able to go through and just copy and paste this to your own stores, but i'll walk you through it really quick. so the first item we have on here are: what locations do you ship to? so that's very important to tell your customers whether you ship us only worldwide or if you leave some countries out or whatever, but what locations you ship to. so i wrote all this up myself. it says: lucky, lucky for you. we are currently offering free worldwide shipping on every order. be sure to take advantage of this promotion before it's over. we normally offer free shipping on all orders above 85. we package and ship orders to nearly every country across the globe, but transit time will vary from location to location. so i added the kind of scarcity in there because i'm telling them: once this uh promotion is over, you're gonna have to spend 85 dollars to get free shipping and you guys can change this price point around depending on the average order value or whatever prices you guys charge on your own stores. and then another important question that customers want to know is: how long does it take to arrive, once shipped? so all orders are processed and shipped as soon as possible through many of our domestik and international warehouses, depending on the fastest shipping method available to your location. we typically take one to three business days for handling and processing your order. the typical delivery time frame is anywhere from 10 to 20 business days, depending on your location. you might receive items much earlier. please allow extra time during our busy season, as postal delays are out of our control. additional factors such as distance, customs, natural disasters, may cause further postal delays- natural disasters in there- because, uh, look where we're at right now. this pandemic is making shipping times terrible. um, tracking information, including carriers, are provided with every order. every order is insured. if your package does not arrive, you are eligible for a refund or replacement. please reach out to support and then throw in your store there for additional assistance in this matter. so that just answers: uh, basically, how long does it take and what is the process of shipping and everything, and then will i receive a tracking number for my package. you guys should be able to provide tracking numbers for all of your customers, especially if you have long shipping time. so tracking numbers will be sent as soon as we are able to ship your order. sometimes additional delays may arise that are beyond your control, such as postal delays or customs inspections. thank you for your patience and understanding. so if you guys don't send out tracking numbers, you can tweak this and say it a certain way, but i usually have the email go out and send them their tracking number as soon as it updates. what do i do if my order is lost in the mail? so that's another important thing, because when you're first getting started out, when you're drop shipping from china, a lot of orders will be lost in the mail, and this is why you want to find an agent, a private supplier or just ship out orders yourself, because you don't want to run into this issue all the time, because you're going to deal with a lot of refunds, a lot of chargebacks and all of that. so each order will be sent with insured shipping and handling to prevent lost packages if your order happens to get held at customs, lost in transit or return to us for any reason. we have your back. the postal service is out of our control once your package leaves our warehouse. however, in cases like this, because the packages are insured, we will send you a new package with priority shipping and full tracking if possible. please see our refund and return policy for when these might be applicable to shipping situations. so it just answers another important question, and then a lot of times, certain countries will charge your customers like import fees or taxes or anything like that, and you don't want to be responsible for that. so just go ahead and put it in your shipping policy, otherwise it might fall back on you. so just tell them. all prices on our web page are displayed in usd, with all taxes completely covered on our end. if they're in another currency, make sure to put that on there. however, depending on your location and laws in your area, you may be liable to pay for duties and taxes once you, once you receive your order. import taxes, duties and related custom fees may be charged once your order arrives to its destination, which are determined by your local customs office. please seek additional guidance based on your location and the associated import laws. and then just toks more about that. so, uh, the last thing i have on here are extended delays that are out of your control. you want to put that on there just in case you know your customer's order is taking a little too long or sitting in a sorting center for longer than you want it to be. so in some instances, the delivery time may take longer than our policy states. if this is the case, please contact us as soon as possible and we will do everything we can to help you resolve any situation that we have control over. so this just answers some of your customers most important questions as far as shipping goes and just lays it all out in your website. you want to be transparent, you want to be honest and
