how to import your product in shopify using csv files. hey guys, welcome back to the youtube channel. in this video, i'm going to be showing you how you can import your products in csv files in shopify, so let's get into it now. the first thing you need to understand before you get into this is, first off, you need to have your shopify account. so i have logged onto my account over here and this is like a basic empty account, so i haven't added any products, and i'm going to show you, guys, how you can add your products using csv files. now, what are csv files and how do you actually add csv files onto your shopify platform? well, it's a simple and easy thing. you don't need to be overwhelmed or you don't need to get intimidated by looking at csv files. i'm gonna go step by step on what csv files are and how to create them. so there is a simple and easy little thing provided by shopify in the shopify help center, where they explain to you how to use csv file and they also provide you with a inventory csv file sample that you can download. i will leave the link to these in the description box down below, so make sure you check these out and you understand and give this a read before you start importing csv files onto your shopify account. so the first thing you need to understand is that a csv file does not have any uh spaces. so if i was to go into my product section over here and i was to add products, you can see these titles and all that. so if i want to name my product t-shirt, then it shouldn't have any gaps. if i was writing a csv file, it would not have any kind of gaps. you need to replace the gaps with dashes. so that's like the first thing you need to know when you're creating your csv file. so if you have your data set up already in a excel sheet or any word format, and if it's located in different spaces, you're going to have to combine it into one space and within that one space there are two required columns on a csv file that shopify should have, that your csv file that needs to be imported on shopify should have, which are the title and the handle. so you can see over here: whenever you import new products, the only required column is title and when you update products using a csv file, the only two required columns are going to be the title and handle. so this is the most important step. whenever you're creating your columns or whenever you're working, even in a spreadsheet or excel sheet, make sure to add the title handle. now. after that you have your data dependencies. so if i have like a t-shirt that i'm looking to create in my csv file, then i have multiple sizes so i need to create like a value for sizes and then i'm going to enter the input or input the sizes that are available. so that is how you create your basic csv file. so you can see over here that csv files must use a utf-8 encoding. so don't worry about that. it's just a pretty simple little way to encode. you don't even actually have to like create your csv file. all you need to do is you can go on to microsoft excel over here like this: just open up your microsoft excel. when you're saving your document, make sure that you are actually creating a simple little uh save. so over here, when you save your little document- let's say you're viewing it and you're saving it- once you save, you want to make sure that you're saving as a csv. so you can see over here where i want to save this and what is the file format. so you can see i have different file formats. and right below your xls you have your csv. so you want to save everything as a csv when you're working in your excel sheet. so to create a simple excel sheet, i'll show you guys how to create like a simple product excel sheet later on, but before that i'm actually going to show you guys a sample sheet that has been provided by shopify. so if you go on to the help section on shopify, you're going to find this simple little sample sheet. so you can see over here we have the handle, we have the title, we have the body, we have the vendor and then we have a you know all kinds of uh categories. so these are basic categories and you have the product type tags published in option one. so you can see over here these are some simple little csv files and this is what a csv file basically is. it's like a more complicated version of saying it's an excel sheet, but it basically just is an excel sheet. don't be overwhelmed, don't feel like you can't make one. it's simple and easy. and once you have your csv files down, so once you create your csv file, once you can import this data on anywhere so you can import this data onto any platform, onto any place that you want, and it's going to be a lot easier for you to import your data. so, let's say, if i go back onto my shopify store over here and then go into my product section, i can click on import, i can click on add file and i can just go on to my recents, and this file that i have over here is called product template. so i'm just going to search for product so to import your actual csv file, the one that you're going to create. what you're going to do is you're just going to go into your product section over here on your shopify store, so you're just going to go into product and don't click on add products. you're going to go into the import section on the top right. so you're going to find this little import section, you're going to click on import and you're going to click on add file. now, before you do that, you need to choose if you want to overwrite any current product. so if this is just like a simple little file that doesn't have like any old product updates and you can leave this as is, but like if there are some products that are updated in the ucsb files. you can overwrite them as well. but i'm just going to click on add files and i'm going to go into my section and i have this little csv file. i'm going to click on open over here and i'm going to click on upload and continue so you can see over here that it has three products and these are all the titles, product statuses, the type, custom type, the vendor and then the variants that i have provided over here and the prices. so this is how simple and easy it is to import your csv file. so you're just going to click on import products and now you can see my products are being imported into my store. so i just have to wait a couple of seconds for this process to complete. so, depending on how large or small your csv file really is, it is going to take accordingly. so i only have three products and they have been loaded right over here and you can see i haven't added inventories and i have, you're in stok for these three variants and these are the types, that vendors, the statuses. you can obviously change stuff once you have imported your csv file, and that is basically the purpose of a csv file. you can bulk add your products with the file and then if anything seems off, if anything seems incorrect, you can just click on the product over here and then you're just going to change up the you know whatever feels wrong. if the tile is incorrect, if anything is incorrect, you can just fix that individually if there are any mistakes. but if there are not, you're gonna be ready to go in like a couple of minutes with a simple little csv file. so if i was to go into excel, what i would do is i would first write my title and then i would add toy teddy car, like that, and then i'm just going to click on over here, i'm going to click on csv, i'm going to click on save, so i'm still going to click on save over here. oh, i have this saved and now i'm going to go into my products. i'm going to click on import, i'm going to click on add and i'm just going to go in over here and i just created this csv file. i'm going to click on open, i'm going to click on upload and continue, and you can see, i just added the title of the product. i didn't add any other categories, but just like that i'm going to click on import products, and my products are going to be imported, so don't ever feel like it's too much of a hassle to create a csv file and it's going to be so difficult. how can i do?

How to Import a CSV List to Shopify

hey, what's going on today? we're going to be importing a product CSV file onto Shopify now before you go. according to my data over here- my analytiks- 99% of you have not subscribed to her channel. so if you find any of these tutorials helpful, you want to subscribe, because we are putting out tons of tutorials and definitely find them helpful. so make sure that you subscribe. do it now, let's get into it. all right. so the first thing you want to do is obviously go to your products and in here you have the option to export, import or more actions. what we're gonna do today is import, right, so this is important. if you have a big product list, if you're switching platforms, if you're going from like mu commerce or something like that, you want to go into Shopify. you can download your product list already and then import it in here. now, Shopify has a very partikular way of uploading products, so you have to make sure that you match it exactly as how they want you to. so the first thing that I would do is click on this download sample CSV file. this will open up a new tab with a lot of information, really, on the CSV file, and I'm going to touch on this a little bit too. but right here, this first sentence, you can download and view a sample product CSV file and you can use that as your template. all right, I'm gonna save that on my computer and I'm gonna open that and then there you have it. so this is the template version of what you want to do. these titles here at the top, you want to make sure that they. you have all of them, even if you're not using them. so, for example, if I scroll down here towards the bottom, there might be things like google shopping, custom label one, custom label two that you might not use, but you still want to keep them there and not delete the columns because Shopify will not recognize that CSV file. okay, now, in order to understand all these headings a little bit better, that's when we go back to this Paige that Shopify opened for you, which, if you scroll just a little bit down, you'll see products, see this B file format, and this will actually walk you through each of the titles, the handle, title body, the vendor, the tie-up tags published, and it will actually give you descriptions over here on what exactly you need to put in there. obviously, the template will give you an idea of what you need to put, but this page right here who actually give you a better understanding of what exactly you need to put in those fields. now some things to take in because their consideration here. when you're uploading your product CSV file, I would 100% recommend to do it on Google sheets. so I have a little product list over here. so this is another example. mmm, I would do Google sheets just because you can collaborate with other people and you can share that with either your web developer or other people on your team to be working together on this and what we've done here. you can see here at the bottom you can see different categories of products: ladies apparel, contemporary hand, back and small letter leather- and inside of those then you have a bunch of different products. so the number one thing that you need to make sure you do before you're planning this CSV file product list is to figure out your categorization of products. so we can do that in a different video, but right off the bat you need to make sure that you know how you want to categorize your products on your store. if it's ladies apparel, and inside of there you have tops, pants, skirts, you need to make sure that you organize yourself and organize your products, and you can use just a word document to list this out and you can see it visually. because when you go here to the product type, you want to make sure that you match it exactly as to where you're gonna have it in the store. and same with tags, you know you want to make sure that they actually match exactly as you want them in the store, because when you're setting up these categories inside of Shopify, you want to make sure that these match exactly word for word, what you're going to create those categories for. so even things like using plural, like tops instead of top, take those things into consideration. now, something also to do consider is the handle. the handle is the identifies the product, right? so if you look at all this, this is all just one product, right, and you only need to put majority of the information on that first line, and then normally there is additional lines because of variance, right? so this is option one will be varying on which, in this in case, includes the sides, and all we're changing is just the option, right. small, medium, large, extra-large, etc. now, something else to take into consideration is the SKU numbers. the SKU numbers are very important that you have some sort of format or template that you're following, so that people who are uploading products in the future they know exactly what to do and how to format those SKU numbers some people like to include. for example, right here we have some information about the vendor, we have some information about the actual color of the product, we have some information about the size of the product. all those things are important for your employees and for people uploading products onto the website. let's see, keep walking here a little bit more. and another big thing is the images, right, so that's something that this might be a little bit cumbersome, but for image purposes, you have two options here. you can come over here and go to your settings and go to files, and you can upload all your images right here, and then all you would do is you would copy the URL after you upload an image, which you can click- I by clicking that purple button- and then you would come back to your product list and you would paste that URL right there within the image source. now, something that's kind of tricky: if you want to add multiple images to that same product, you have to do an additional line. so remember how we did an additional line based off of variants. you would also have to do an additional line. so we just click here and then insert one below and then you look again. you want to make sure that it matches the handle, so the Shopify knows that this additional image is four, that's the line of blouse, and you can leave everything else the same and then put the same SKU number in here and then put your second image right. so let's say, this is my second image that I want to add in there. you just copy that URL and put it in here in an image position: BB. my second image that shows for that partikular property. so this is very important. this is something that it's kind of hard to find as far as like documentation on how to add multiple photos. your other option with adding images is that you don't put anything under image source or image position and after you've uploaded all your products, then you go in on a product by product basis and start adding and uploading images. there's really no better choice. I mean, they're still, they're both very time-consuming, but that's just part of uploading right bulk uploading all these products. so again, I would highly highly recommend that you go through this breakdown of what each title and the description means so you have a better understanding. if you have any questions about any of these, please leave a comment down below curl. your appreciate that. so let's go back to this to do and let's just save this right. so we toked about creating your product CSV list right here within Google sheets. what you want to do after you finished it is go to download and then inside of download you'll see the comma separated values to CSV. that's what you want to click on and that will create you that CSV file that you need. now, if we go back over here and then we go back to products and then click on import and then add the file open and then this check mark over here says: override any current products that have the same handle. existing values will be used for any of the missing columns. so if you have already products in there and you want them to override s.

Shopify IMPORT Products from CSV Spreadsheet - MOST Efficient Overview - Get UNFAIR Headstart!

hey, this is ryan from web eminence. in this video, i'll quickly show you the most important things you need to know to give you an unfair head start in the process of importing products to your Shopify store with a spreadsheet or a CSV file. many people just enter products manually in Shopify, and that's fine. but if you have hundreds or thousands of products or you already have a product list from a vendor, importing your products from a file as an awesome way to get it done really fast, it does take a time investment up front to create your spreadsheet, but it will definitely save you a ton of time in the long run. so the first step to importing products your Shopify store is to get a sample spreadsheet file. this is going to be a file that can be opened in Excel or Google sheets, and it's also known as a CSV file. it's comma separated, so there's two ways to do this. you can go to your Shopify store and if you click import, which is where we're going to go later to import your product list, you can download the sample CSV template, and if you open this file in Excel, it'll look something like this: the important thing is it's going to have all these headers for you. so these are the fields that must be included in any import file. you don't need to fill all of these fields out, but you do need to have a file that includes all of them so you can work off of this sample file and add your product information into it and then upload it to Shopify. so another good option: if you already have some products entered, or if you want to enter two or three of your products just as an example, enter a few products that are just typical of the type of products that you're gonna add to your store. after you have those entered, you can then export products. so what that's going to do is export your list of products that are currently entered into a CSV, a spreadsheet file that you can open in Excel. this option might be the better option for most people, just because it's going to give you a product list that's formatted in the way that your products have already been entered, so you'll get a look at the file in the format that you are likely going to need to use to enter additional products. so a lot of Shopify sellers are working with vendors that have product lists. so I'm working with a client now who has this product list from a vendor and it's a good complete list. we're gonna be able to use it to import products. but you can't just take this file and then upload it to Shopify and change the options. you need to actually take all the data and put it in the correct format for a Shopify import. so one important tip I'll give you is just to start with a few products to get your spreadsheet file in the correct format. you can continually import and re-import your product file and overwrite the previous products. so don't feel like you need to create in complete your entire product list before you upload the product. you can just do a few at a time to make sure you have the formatting correct. once you have it looking the way you want and presented on your store in the correct way or the way you want it to look, you can then begin to enter all your other products. so what I've started to do in this example is take some of the product data from the vendor. you see they have asked you at UPC product title. they have a description in the form of like five bullet points and then they also have images and weight, so that five image URLs and then they have pricing. so basically, what I did is I took that info and I'm creating two products just to test in the Shopify sample document. so this has all the correct headers at the top and I need to make sure that I have the required ones filled out. they're not all required. I'm not going to go through each one. there are some other videos on YouTube that go through each one. but the best way to learn what each of these fields is and whether or not you need them is to go to the Shopify help document and I'll link to this file in my description under the video. but there are some useful instructions on here. there's also a video to help you understand CSV files and how you import products. but the important thing you want to go through is the CSV file format table here, which actually describes each of the fields and it tells you which ones can be left blank, what the default values are. so if you read through this, she'll understand which one you're gonna need and maybe which ones you can just leave blank and keep in mind. you can always edit and re-upload the product this later if you want to add more info. so let me just show you a few of the elements of these two products that I added and it'll give you kind of a head start to understand the different fields in Shopify import file. so the first column, column a, is called handle. this is going to be the URL of your product and it's going to be required for every line of your sheet. the reason there's five in a row is because there's either variations of this product- you see there's three color variations- which is called option one name and option one value. and then the reason there's two more that are totally blank except for the image, is because I'm adding two extra images to this product, so there's a total of five images that are going to be uploaded from a URL. so for this file I do have the handle, which again is that URL that's going to show up. I'm using the title. you're gonna have to have a title. it's a product title, body is a description. you don't have to use vender. I'm using vendor- here published, it's going to be true or false- and then the option or variation. so for this product I have three colors. so color is the title of the variation and then this is the actual value. my second product here does not have variations, so I just leave the default title and default title for option name in value. if I scroll over, you can see some of the other fields I'm using, like the SKU. grams is the weight, so the weight is always in grams. you can display it on your site as pounds, but you'll need to upload it in grams, so you might need to use a conversion here in your original document. use the formula to convert to grams. variant inventory is one by default, I believe, but you can change it to whatever you want. very an inventory policy I have as deny. so then I have pricing and then I have a barcode and then again I have the image URLs- a bunch of other fields here that you don't need to use. another tip to make the spreadsheet more manageable- because you might be working in it for hours- is to hide certain columns. so to do this, if you know you're not going to use them- and you can always add them back later or unhide them- you select the columns and then right-click and say hide and it's going to create this little here telling you that there are hidden columns. so I might hide these too if I know I'm not going to use them, and that's just gonna make the work a little bit quicker. all right, so now that I have these two products, mostly complete, I need to save this file. it's probably already a CSV file, but in Excel you can go to save as. make sure you select CSV, which is a dot CSV file. save it. I'm going to replace the file. go back to my Shopify account, go to products and click import. choose a file. I'm gonna click overwrite existing products- and you're gonna want to do this in the future too. if you, you know, are making edits to your file and want to overwrite instead of creating new products, that actually won't. if you, if you leave this unchecked, it won't create new products. it just won't create anything or edit anything. I'm gonna click Choose file. choose that CSV file I had selected or I had saved. click upload. it's gonna give me a sample of the first line of data and tell me kind of a summary of what's being uploaded. that's a good way to just check to make sure you have things formatted correctly and then click start import can take a few minutes, depending on how big your file is. mine will go pretty fast, since I only have a few lines. ok, so once those products have,

How to Use CSV files to Import Products in Shopify

hey guys, jason owens here for campaign sauce, digital marketing. i hope you guys are doing amazing today and i am really excited to share with you this brand new live video here on how you can go ahead and import just a ton of products inside of shopify. and when i'm working with clients to help them get their store set up, you know that loading products is, by every means, the longest, most tedious process of all of getting the store set up right. i mean, you guys have product images, you have descriptions. you got to make sure you put it in the right place and what category, uh, what collection do you want it in, are you going to tag it or not? and pricing and product weights and all that. and i'll tell you what. i have not found a better way to move very quickly through uploading products than to use a csv spreadsheet. okay, it is way easier than you might think and i tell you what. i'm just going to go ahead and dive in right now and show you so you can take a look at this for yourself. so let's dive into the screen share, all right. so here we are. you guys should be seeing which you are. you guys are now seeing this screen using csv files to import and export products. so this is really what i started learning to use years ago, and it's very simple. you can just google this- honestly, goodness, csv and shopify and you will end up coming to a page like this guy right here, the file that i started out with. and again, this is super easy: download a sample csv. now, what is csv? that's just a fancy way for saying this is a generic spreadsheet. okay, you can open this thing up in any spreadsheet. you can open an excel. if you're a mac person, you can open it in numbers. if you have some other fancy thing that you like doing, you'll be able to open it inside of that spreadsheet. so let's just take a look at what this guy looks like. and here it is. it's actually pretty straightforward and pretty easy. you know there's there's a lot going on here, but then again it's actually pretty dang simple as well. so you know, you go over here and you start out with handle and title, and then there's a body for the html and and what vendor. it is right. so i mean you can kind of get a really good feel for just what's happening here. and, by the way, when you look at handle. just think of that as kind of the last part of the url. so if your store name is, let's see, jimmy's clothing dot com, well, it's going to be forward slash. example: hyphen t- hyphen shirt. that's going to be the url that will take you to this partikular product. okay, so in this case it's: it's a shirt, it's a men's t-shirt. uh, they have a couple uh descriptions here. so this guy has what's called some variants in it, right, so you can check that out. notike, we have the product weight. these guys happen to be excited about grams. some people work in ounces. uh, inventory policy: uh, who's going to fulfill it? right, are you going to do it? are you going to have some other fulfillment house do it? and price, right, so there's a good one to know and come here out, okay, so evidently, this guy's on sale, this variant's on sale and this second variant is also on sale. then we go into the image, right, so this guy has a green t-shirt, right, so you can check that out. so, anyways, i mean, you pretty much get the feel for what this looks like and i'm going to show you in just a second how i use this to really speed up the product loading process. okay. but before we jump to that, let's just see what does this guy look like when we actually upload it. okay, so we're going to go over to my test store here. you can see that i have some test products in my test store. notike, right over here. we have the import button, okay, so we're just going to go ahead and import that guy right now. it says, hey, what are you going to import? well, let's go grab that csv file. okay, so it's just going to drag and drop that guy right here, overwrite any current products that have the same name, right, so we do that. uh, so now we're just gonna go ahead and upload, and since we have so few products in this demo file, this should be pretty quickly. so it says, hey, all right, you're gonna import about four products and have five skus, four images, right? so that's what a title would look like. and and, uh, yeah, anyway. so you just kind of have to walk through this here and check it out. so, anyway, i'm just gonna go ahead and import the products. now i'm gonna take a look at this guy once it gets in. all right, pretty straightforward. let's see if we can do a refresh here on this screen and see if our new products have shown up again. we should have that new t-shirt that's listed in here now, where did you go? sorry, i have managed to import the wrong file. let's try this one more time, guys. uh, we're going to go back here. we're now going to import the product template- sorry about that- and again overwrite any current products we're going to upload. okay, here we are. example t-shirt, right. that's the one that we wanted to modify and you can see that it has the different variants in there, the different weights and the prices. so that's the one we should have uploaded. i should have uploaded in the first place, okay, so here we are as this guy comes in and we're going to end up waiting for it to finish the upload. it's going to go out and grab images that you saw there- uh, at least you saw the long file name for the images- and now we're going to go ahead. well, here it is. example hat, zinc pants. example t-shirt, right. so it says nothing in stok for those three variants. let's at least go check it out and we'll see what this guy looks like. so we'll preview it out here on the store again. it's- it's pretty straightforward- looks like a block, my pop up here. there we go. so here's the t-shirt, right, there's the green t-shirt. that's the image, and you know we have- uh, you know we have- the small version of it. we have a medium version, and you can see here that whenever you select the smaller medium, you know you end up getting the the sale price on it, you know. so, anyway, it's just, it's a great uh way to import products. really simple, really easy. now let me show you how i use this to really really fast forward on some of the product stuff that i'm doing. okay, so we're going to back out of this. you can see here that we have all of these products. what we're going to do is, i think i just want to work with only a few products here. uh, i'm going to do this test product one, two, three and four, okay, and let's say that these are all handmade products and i typically have some kind of a boilerplate like handmade in colorado, you'll love this, it'll be the tok of the town, you know something like that, so something that you end up putting on every product, right? so, anyway, we're gonna go ahead and export this guy, export these products here. so just do a quick export. we're going to only export those four. we don't want to export everything, just those four, all right. so now our export came down. now let's start having some fun. so here's our new export. notike that this, this body html, is here, right? so we had some dummy text put in here before. what i typically do here with all of this dummy text is that i end up doing something kind of uh like this: so we're going to do what i call just some boilerplate in here. um, this product is hand made in colorado. uh, how about this? handmade by local artists? no, no, no, by local artisans in colorado. you'll really enjoy how this looks in your home, right? so something along those lines. well, rather than having to go in and copy and paste and copy and paste this among hundreds and hundreds of products, you just simply go in here and you can now do this all at once, right? copy paste, copy paste, copy paste, and you can do it inside of here way more quickly. then you'll be able to do it outside, all right. so now the next question is: okay, jason, that's great, but i thought you were going to tell me how to upload products. watch this. so we're just going to go in here, right? How to Bulk Import Products into your Shopify Store

[Music]. hi, my name is Elle McCann from curious themes web development studio in Nashville, Tennessee, and in this video tutorial I'm gonna walk you through how to bulk import products into the backend of your Shopify store. so this is really helpful if you are editing a lot of products at once of your current inventory or if you're adding a lot of new products in. so let's say, I only have two products in here now, but let's say we had, you know, a couple hundred, so you had multiple pages of products. you can easily select all of the products, hit export up on the products page and then go to. you can either expert export a certain page- all of the products, selected products- or you can search for different products to export so you could search for a different collection, for example, and export all of those products and then export it into an Excel spreadsheet. so this would be really helpful. let's say, if you wanted to edit a lot of the types or tags for a product, you can easily go in and export your existing products and then edit them in Excel and then re-import them in. but for this tutorial we're going to actually be importing brand new products, so I'm going to hit cancel and to do this, you have to have a certain type of formatting to import your product. so the best way to go about this is to actually download the sample CSV file that they provide. so to get this file, you'll hit import and you'll click this download sample CSV template. so once you select that, it'll download it to your computer and you can open it with something like Microsoft Excel. so I actually have that already open, so we will go here. so this is the sample template that it has set up for you, that. so this is what you'll see whenever you download that. so these are the fields and this is their examples, which is two through four. so I'm going to put in some information, pretending like we are going to pull in new products. so let me pull over some information from another excel document so you can see in this excel document I have just typed out a product title description, the type of product it is, the size, that it is the inventory and the price. so I'm gonna just copy these fields and then I'm gonna go over to the other excel sheet and I'm going to paste them in and this way it'll just be a little bit easier in terms of publishing. we can move them around how we want. so for the title field. so I'm going to edit things down here and kind of go along with the category up here. so I'm gonna move these titles, I'm going to cut them out and I'm gonna put them in the title field so you can see up here I'm following these, the first column or the first row, so title is right there. so the handle you can see in there. example: the handle is what the product URL will display, as on your site in the URL bar, so you can see whenever you click on it. it just has a lot of dashes in here, so you can just copy the titles and paste them over here. and we're gonna come up here to this bar, though, and I'm gonna put a dash in between and I'm going to also lowercase everything, and I'm going to do that for all three of them so that it's consistent and that it works correctly. so, going through all of this, when we do go to import it into Shopify, if you have an issue, it will flag it there for you, so you'll be able to see. but if you follow the template as much as possible, you will most likely have a lot less issues. okay. so this description that I have here would be this body HTML. so this is the description that I have. so I'm going to copy that and I'm gonna paste it down here so that I'm matching this. so the vendor for this: I didn't import this name. if you wanted to do a vendor, you could put that there. if you didn't, you could just go without. so let's just make up a name. I'm gonna say that the vendor for this is crystals Unlimited, and I'm gonna copy this and put it for all three. okay, the product type is crystal. so I have that already in here. now, just copy that, paste it in. okay, the tag. so we're in this column now. we're not gonna be putting in any tags. so some of the fields you do need to import things for, but some you can go without, and tags is one of them. so I'm just gonna go without tags for now. for published, you do need to have either true or false. so this is if you want it to be published on the site. so I want that to be true. so I'm gonna copy that. now, this is where it gets a little bit different. so right now, we have three products and three rows. however, for the option once we start getting into these fields. option would be things like your size or your color of the product. so this is where we'll actually have to break this product down into multiple lines. so you can see here in this example that it has the title and then it has small and medium for these two right here. so it's breaking the product size into two different rows. so for all three of these products we have small, medium and large. so I'm going to copy this row and I'm gonna say insert. oh, I should've done below it, not above it, so I'll hit insert. so since we have small, medium and large, I'm going to do that twice. I'm gonna do that for all three of them. so this is going to let us start to do the size. so for the option, so where it has title, here I'm gonna put size and I'm gonna copy that for all of the rows. and then I'm going to put the small, medium and large in different areas here. so first we'll say small, medium and large, then I'm gonna just copy these and use it for all of them. okay, and let's see, I also need to copy. so you can see, in this example they didn't have to duplicate the type or the vendor or the description for all of that, because it is the same product. however, we do need to put in the different handles so you can see that they have the same handle, just copied multiple times. so we'll copy this first one and do the same for the others. so this is just going to make sure that it imports correctly, because otherwise, if you didn't put it there, it wouldn't really know which product to go to. so we have those setup now. so now we are in, so we've gone through. I just have one option, however. if you had a second option- so let's say you had size and color- you would go in and then do the color options here. so, for example, if you had, let's say, the color is black and white, if you had, you know, black color for the small but not the medium, you would go in and make different rows for the different products that you have of each color and size. so sometimes it gets a little bit tricky if you have a lot of product options. if you are finding that you have a lot of different product options, sometimes it's actually easier to do that in the backend of Shopify, because that'll auto generate a lot of those variants for you. which is what we're doing here is we're creating the different variants, so we've gone through here. so save the next field. so we're not going to do any of the other options. so the next field is the variant skew. so this would be so you can see in their example they have example shirt s, so we could do a skew and this can be whatever you want it to be named as. so what's the same? we'll copy this and put it over here and put small, and I'm just gonna do the same for medium and large. I'm actually gonna copy these and go ahead and do that for that as well. so of course, you can name your SKU whatever you want it to be. I'm just doing it as words for this example. however, you could do you know initials and an actual products number. if you're dropshipping, it'll probably be whatever it is from the drop shipper, just to sync up with their inventory. so this will really just kind of depend on your business if you can kind of create your own or if it's already set in stone for you, okay. so the next field is the variant grams. so I'm not gonna put in any product weight here, um, but you could put it in here if you already had your product weight established. next is variant inventory tracker. so this is if you want Shopify to manage the inventory or if you don't want any inventory tracked at all. so for this e.
