hey guys, welcome back to my youtube channel. so today we are going to tok about the different shipping options on shopify and kind of like what they mean. so this will help you decide which one will work best for your small business, your shopify account, because when i did that video recently on how to set up shopify shipping and all that stuff, i got questions about like what they specifically mean. so if you need a little bit more help, it's okay, i'm gonna get into it today. now i will be giving you some tips on some things i think you should try to implement first, and kind of how you should work around that. um, i will be sharing that with you guys, so i will be helping you out, giving you some tips. there are different types of shipping methods. so there is: you can either set up free shipping. now, free shipping is pretty obvious. it just means that your customer doesn't pay for shipping and usually, to compensate free shipping, your items are priced a little bit higher. or you buy such in bulk that your items are so cheap. because you're paying so much less, you can raise your price to a regular amount and you're gonna make a big profit. so shipping isn't really an issue. now. this next one is kind of, i think, where people get a little bit more confused. so shopify offers a calculated shipping rate. now what that means is shopify will automatikally take into consideration the weight of your item. so you're going to need to put that in the weight of your box or your shipping items that you use. they're going to calculate that when you want to ship it, by who you're going to ship it to. that whole thing they are automatikally going to calculate it and give your customer a rate to show them how much they need to pay. so this is actually really common. like, for example, if you shop on my store, i do have calculated shipping and it's going to vary. i also. here you can also offer a variety of shipping options. so, like, for me, i have usps, like regular shipping, a ups option, because some people don't want to use usps right now. here you can also offer like priority mail, next day. this is if people want to pay. your customers want to pay for that option. it's available to them. so this is probably a really common one and it's a great tool that shopify offers. i really, really like it. so i wanted to tok about some of the shipping rates here when you do, um, calculated shipping, just because i got some questions about that. so, autumn, there's a ship, there's a handling fee. so i don't know if you guys have ever tried to order from online and they're like there's a shipping and handling fee but there's free shipping. so really, what a handling fee is is if you would like to charge your customers for, like, packaging your items. um, i will say it's just a nice little tip. i kind of always add a handling fee. now, whether you want that to be a percentage, you want that to be a dollar amount. for me and my small business this is also a little cushion to make sure i'm getting money for shipping, because sometimes i'm going to say the shipping- calculated shipping- is not 100, right, and let's see after i add in all of the items and then i'm like, okay, i need to pay a little bit out of pocket for this. that handling fee always kind of gets me just to make sure that i'm covered for shipping. so i hope that that makes sense to you. always, with shipping, you can kind of see where your customers feel comfortable paying. i also would recommend checking out other small businesses and see how their shipping is set up just to kind of get a feel. i know people tend to be okay with paying more for a small business, but you definitely don't want your prices to be so high that they just run away and they don't want to pay at all because of the shipping. so that's kind of why where, if you would like to do free shipping and your prices are a little bit higher, people think, well, i'm willing to pay this because i'm going to get free shipping. so it's kind of like you need to see what works best for your customers. now, one thing that i really really like when it comes to setting up your own shipping rates. this is where you can do, like, spend over 50, get free shipping. um, or let's say, you are gonna do free shipping if you buy a pound of product. that's something that you can customize there under your own shipping rates, which is really cool. you could do based on item weight or based on price. so, like for me on my shop, if you spend more than 40, you get free shipping. so the reason why this is helpful- and you might think, well, you know what, i don't want to give them free shipping because that's like less money for me. but the thing is you have to think about when people are buying more product than they- not they normally wouldn't be. it's going to kind of cover that shipping. so let's say i checked out and my shipping was like i have to spend 10 more dollars, and i'm sure you guys have done this before. when you're on a site and they're like you're only 10 more, i ten more dollars away from free shipping, you're kind of thinking: you know what? yeah, i'm gonna get that free shipping. i'll just spend 10 more dollars when you normally wouldn't have spent that much anyways. so what this does is it increases your overall cart value, which is really good because it just means that you're making more money. so sometimes that option can be really cool, really helpful. um, i personally i will look at your cart average and then see like how much people are just paying normally for your products and then try to maybe go up ten dollars more or five dollars more and see how that goes for your shop. now, let's say nobody gets up to the amount, then it might not be worth it at all for you to do a free shipping promo like that. so some tips that i have for you when starting out. so i'm going to be honest, international shipping can be very complicated. it can be kind of hard to figure out. i'm going to be honest, i don't even have it 100 figured out now, because sometimes i have items that i've set up for calculated shipping and then, for some reason, when it gets to customs, i have to end up paying more or something like that. so it's not something that i'm 100 confident in right now. i am offering a flat rate shipping fee for my international customers and, i'm going to be honest, i only maybe have had like 10 international sales, so it's not something where my customers aren't really international. most of my customers are here in the united states. which leads me to my next tip. i highly recommend, if you're just starting out, just go in the united states. it's a lot easier and it's a lot less of a hassle to try to figure out how to do international shipping. another huge thing i see a lot of small businesses not doing and it's a safety thing. i think it's something that you need to be doing is using a po box or a suite or a unit number, something other than your home address- for your return shipping address. you do not want to give random people your address. it's just not safe and it's not a good idea. so for me personally, i use a po box. you can even just rent the smallest size po box at your postal service, because most likely you're not going to get anything in there. you just want to make sure that you have a place of like residence for your business. so in case, like someone's pissed off with your product or something and they want to come pull up, you're safe, okay, it's just. it's just safety things anyways. like, let's say, one day your business blows up or something and you've been giving all these people your home address. like that's not a good idea, don't do that. that's gonna be like it's safety, it's safety. sometimes when you guys send me free promo and i see your home address, i'm like, oh, don't do that. don't do that, that's so bad. don't do that, protect yourselves. you guys, be safe out there, okay. so yeah, you need to figure out what works best for your audience: the weight of your products, the price of your products. how much do you spend on your inventory? is it worth to upset, to up the price to compensate for shipping should?

so if you're interested in the ultimate launch course, make sure that you open up the description box and click the link and sign up before enrollment closes. it is the bomb. i literally put all of the nuggets of information into that course, so check that out now. a lot of my hustle babes have told me that they're super confused when it comes to setting up shipping for their stores, so i decided to do this video right here today to show you how you can set up shipping on your shopify store. but not only that. in today's video, i am going to be showing you how to set up your shipping, no matter what shipping policy that you have or want to create. i'm going to show you how you can organize your shipping using what's called shipping profiles on shopify, and i'll be sharing bonus shipping tips of just things that i've learned from shipping my products when i have my shoe boutique, as well as things that i've learned from helping my clients launch their businesses and grow their businesses, and things like that. okay, so it's gonna be a jam-packed video, so make sure that you are ready. first things first, let's tok about the types of shipping. so did you know that there are many shipping types? okay, it's not just come up with a shipping price and that's it. there's a shipping type behind the price that every company charges. i want to highlight kind of like the popular ones, the main ones that you come across right? so first things first. shipping can either be auto calculated when it comes to your website, especially on shopify, or it can be something that you input like a rate that you like, calculated yourself, and input it to the system. so either it could be auto calculated by the system, which usually is by weight or by distance, or it's something that you can literally plug into the system and say: this is how much i want shipping to be. do not auto calculate. this is how much it's going to be right? that's the first thing. now, when it comes to the types of shipping, there are three main types of shipping that i want to really highlight for you. the first is tiered shipping. so tiered shipping is pretty much when, on the back end, you set up a certain range of things, whether it's price or whether it's weight. you can set up a certain range and then say: for the items within this range, this is how much i want to charge. for the items within the other range, this is how much i want to charge, and so that is what tiered shipping is. so, for example, you can say: for orders that are between zero and fifty dollars, charge five dollars for shipping. you can say, orders between fifty one and a hundred dollars charge ten dollars for shipping, etc. so that is how tiered shipping kind of works and, like i said, you can also do the thing for weight as well. the second most popular shipping type is flat rate shipping. so this is when you go to a website and off rip, you already know how much it is that you're paying for shipping. they maybe advertise it on their home screen or maybe they have an announcement banner. you know, five dollars shipping all orders for domestik and then 10 shipping for international orders, something like that. right, if they can say what their shipping is off the bat without you adding anything to cart, it means that they have flat rates set up. now. there are a lot of benefits to flat rate ship.



hey, y'all. hey, it's trading one day. that's y'all with another video. today's video is super, super, super exciting, as always. in today's video, we are going to be discussing how to set up shipping on your shopify store. you guys, yesterday we toked all about how to set up the back end of your shopify, how to make sure things are set up for success. today we're going to be toking about shipping during the second day of the shopify series. so i'm so excited to dive right on into this topic. i'm going to be showing you guys what things you want to make sure are in place in the background as far as shipping. i'm going to also show you guys some of my processes and procedures that i like to take to make sure that shipping is a breeze. i'm going to also show you guys some of the materials and shipping supplies that i used as well, such as poly mailers, inserts, different things like that as well. so make sure you guys stay tuned. we're gonna jump right into the computer. we're gonna go ahead and get it cracking. go ahead, and i'm gonna go through and give you guys some amazing information. so stay tuned, all right, all right, all right, let's go ahead and jump right on in you guys. so first thing you want to do when you head over to your shopify account is to go over here to your settings selection. you want to select settings and then we are going to take a deeper dive into shipping and delivery. so we're going to go through and click that. so this is your settings, right here, for shipping and delivery. pretty straightforward, but i am going to walk you through each and every one of these things so you can grow yourself familiar with them. so at the top, you have your delivery methods at checkout. this is your most important setting. we're going to dive right on into this last after i go through and show you guys each one of the different steps as well. so delivery methods at checkout: this is where you're going to figure out where you want to ship your products to and how much you want to charge for shipping at checkout, how much you want to charge your customers for shipping. right here's your packages. you're going to go through and add in each type of package that you have: if they're poly mailers or if they're boxes, you're going to add the size, dimensions, and then you're also going to go through and add weight. i'm going to show you guys how to do that as well. down here you have your shipping labels, so shopify does allow you to get discounted shipping labels, so that is a really, really great feature that they have. there's discounts for dhl, ups, usps. you guys want to definitely make sure you check out these different rates and that you take advantage of these different rates as well. down below that you have some instructions that are going to help you guys with setting up your shipping label printers so they do allow you to print labels on just letter size for desktop printers, and then they do allow you to hook up any of your thermal printers. i personally use the dymo shipping label printer before excel and i'll show you guys a little bit more of that later once we do start packaging orders. up under that, you have your packing slips, so they do allow you to customize your packing slips if you want. so you can definitely go through here and customize it. you do have to have a little experience with coding, um if you do want to go through and play with that as well, so that way you don't go through and mess anything up, but that is definitely an option for packing slips. down here you have carrier accounts, so you do have the ability to enable 30 third-party calculated rates at checkout. so if you don't want to just use the ones that shopify comes with, you can add a third party. you do have to have an upgraded plan in order to do this, but that's definitely an option if that's something you want to do. last but not least, here you have the ability to add a custom order fulfillment. so this is going to give you the ability to add um an email address for anyone who else may be fulfilling those orders for you. so this is going to be great and important for you guys to go through and outline. if you are going to be using some type of drop shipping service, this is where you would go through and add that, so that way your orders aren't necessarily being sent to you, they're being sent to a third party who can then go through and fulfill those orders for you. so you're just adding the fulfillment service right there if you are into using drop shipping as a fulfillment service there as well. so we're gonna head back up and we're going to be working today in packages and we're also going to be working into delivery methods at checkout first. we're going to start off with adding our packages first, because we want to make sure that our rates at checkout are calculated based off of the sizing of packages that we are going to be using. so i like to just use three different polymer sizes. i don't like things to be overly complicated. i know people who have tons and tons of different type of mailers and different things like that, so these are the three that i use. i have a small wanted poly mailer, a medium wanted poly mailer and a large wanted poly mailer. so i do also have poly mailers in these exact same size without my wanted logo. this is just allowing me to know that these are the ones with the wanted logo. but you can definitely go through and just customize this based off of what you want. so of course, you're going to go here and hit add package. if you're going to be using a box, you want to select box. if you're going to be using an envelope, go through and select that. if you're using a poly miller, make sure you select soft package, slash satchel and this is where you're going to go through and add the length, width and height to make sure you differentiate your poly mailers. also, you want to add in the weight when it is empty. if it is just one single polymer, it has no weight at all. so you can go through and definitely leave that as blank. since that is optional, you can always go through and add a name. so maybe you want to just put small poly mailer, like me, for example, i have small wanted poly mailer, or medium poly mailer, or, if you guys are doing mixed mystery boxes, at one point i have mystery boxes, so i just put mystery box there and then you can even set it as a default package. so, as you guys can see here, my small wanted polymer is my default package because this is the one i use most frequently. so it will automatikally select this one. but if i notike- okay, this order actually can't fit in a small poly mailer- then i would go through the medium or maybe the large. so those are some options there. they do allow you to even use carrier packaging. so if you guys are going to be using the packaging from usps, you can definitely go here and select whatever one that you will be using. as far as your usps, that's what i started when i first started out. i started using packaging provided by usps because it's free. so definitely come on here and figure out which box that you're going to be using. you can select it. for example, let's say i select the priority mail, legal flat rate envelope, i'm going to hit add package and then it's just going to add it automatikally there for me. they already know the weight, they already know the size dimensions. so that is already there and good to go. so that is pretty much packaging. very, very simple, very easy to do. all you need to know is the length, width and height of everything. i like to go through and maybe, like you, can even take these out and just put zero. so, as you guys can see, these are actually wrong. so i need to go back through and correct those. um, but as long as the linkedin with their are correct, the height doesn't really matter, because their poly mailers don't really have a height to them at all. so those are your packages. so we are going to take a deeper dive into delivery methods at checkout. so they have three different methods that you can do as far as delivering your orders. you can deliver based off on shipping y.

How to Setup Shipping in Shopify 2022

edwin anthony. here again back at it for resolution design and here again at another tutorial, just making it very simple for you guys how to set up shipping, and this is the 2022 version. i know i've been out of the map for a little bit, but i just want to give you a very quick tutorial seeing how i'm working on everything else with the academy. let's get right to it. so we're just going to set up a simple shipping, but strong disclosure. there's different type of companies. so if you're watching this, you're either one of two types of companies. you are either a drop shipping company, in other words, you're using a drop shipping company to supply your products, such as oberlo, aliexpress- you got all these other companies drop shipping right. you're either that type of watcher right now or you're a private supplier. you're a business owner that you have your own supplies. you get them shipped out to either your house or you get them shipped out to a private fulfillment center, and in that case, this is very, very most catered to you. but let's tok about those that are in drop shipping, guys. if you're in drop shipping, especially if you have more than one drop shipper, uh, just please keep in mind that those drop shipping companies, as orders come in, right inside of shopify, and it communicates to the drop shipping companies. they have different shipping carriers that they use in order to ship the product to your clients, and maybe even different shipping methods, prices, so on and so forth. what we're trying to solve here is, just straight to the point: how do we set up free shipping so that anybody who comes into your store, they just buy something and it's free shipping, that's it. or, if they want to set up, you know, hey, pay 6.99. that's what we're going to learn here today, so let's get right to it. okay, let's, let's jump right into it. so what you guys see right here is a demo store that we're working for a client, and the first thing that we're going to do is go to the bottom end corner on the lower left, where it says setting. so, right here, where it says settings, uh, what we're going to do- what, what- and what we're going to do is go to where it says shipping and delivery, and then, from here, you might see a screen like this. remember, shopify is changing all the time, so, depending on when you're watching this video, this can change, and if it does, let me know down in the comments so that i could go ahead and make an updated video. it's important for you guys to have these updated videos so that we could go ahead and, you know, give you the latest and greatest. so let's go right ahead. uh, right here we have shipping and we have manage rates. there's no rates so far, and one of the first things that we need to do, if you see the screen right here, is to create a profile, right, because without that, we cannot set up, okay. so, first step, what we're going to do is we're going to go right here where it says manage rates, and once we enter here, you'll notike some of the products that you have already set up. we're not going to dive into that, but notike how there isn't a focus to a country or anything of that sort, right? and so, again, considering in this specific scenario, we're going to pretend that you are a business that not only do you sell internally, meaning that you have your own products physically in your personal warehouse, but that you're also doing some type of uh connection with drop shipping. so you're doing a hybrid, right? that's what we're gonna do in this example here. so, right here, what we're going to do is. we're going to scroll all the way down and you'll notike that in this partikular example, we have two areas where it says not shipping from guys. it's very important that, before we even come here, if you're not seeing this below, you don't see an address, you don't see anything like that. let's go to where it says location, because i'm sure i'm gonna see some comments saying, hey, i didn't see that screen. go to locations first, right, and make sure that your location or your business address is located there. and when i say business address, um, it could be like a po box, right. but if you're gonna do like a po box, just keep in mind that the address for that po box, the post office, is literally the address of that location. so if you go to gps and you want to say where is that, where's my post office, it has a physical address, right, that's the address that you want to do. and then address number two: you'll put the po box and then the rest of it comes out like that, okay, so that's just an fy, a little bonus for you. so once you have your local area set up and you've already attached your drop shipping, let's go right here where it says manage rates, the physical address of your location plus the drop shipper you know, app, rather, if it's oberlo, if it's a whole bunch of these other places, and you'll see right here that will say add rates. and so this rule that i'm applying for this client, we're going to do first free shipping and, as an example, i'll do like a basic shipping, so that it's very easy. uh, remember, everything that we're doing is times two, because we're applying this globally, meaning that it's gonna be applied for the whole store. okay, that's what that means. let's go to the drop commerce first. we're gonna add a rate right here, click on that and it says add new rates and from here, within that box, it's strictly toking about that drop shipper. so, remember, if you have multiple drop shippers, you're doing what i'm showing you right now: multiply times, a few times all the drop shippers and then finally doing the same thing again for your local area, right? or for your address. so, right here, what we're going to do is, in this box, we're going to create a shipping zone. we're identifying exactly where in the world are we going to ship products to, not that we're physically shipping them, but where is the drop shipper shipping them. you understand what i mean. that's what i mean. so let's go ahead and create a shipping zone and in this shipping zone, my client specifically stated that they want to ship exclusively to the continental us, and that's exactly what we're going to do. so i'm gonna type right here the zone name, zone name- you could type whatever it is that you want- uh, continental us- excuse if i miss. type things of the sort right. and then from here, uh, i'm gonna see if i could type in usa to see if it pops out: no, okay, so united. okay, here we go, united states. all right, so we have it selected here and we have a nice little expansion right here. if i click on that, i get to see everything that's from within here. okay, so i see all the states. now, this is considered everything. we're including territories and all that stuff, if you select that box. so let me say that one more time: if i select this box over here, us, by default it's going to select not just the states but also its surrounding territories. and so if, for this focal point, if we want just the continental us, i would have to uncheck those areas where we do not want to provide shipping. so imagine that customer is from hawaii and they're not part of the continental us. when they go to check out, it'll just not let them finalize the purchase. it'll say: look, we don't, you know, ship to that area at the moment. check us, check back. oh, it's pretty soon. i can't tok today. i need more coffee anyways. so let me show you how that's done. all right, so in case, if you guys don't know, this is what i did. i unchecked alaska, american samoan, micronesia, guam, hawaii. uh, i took out what else? marshall islands, i took out north mariana island, palau, puerto rico, i took out virgin islands and all of the armed forces, okay, so i went ahead and pressed done on this one and you could see that it's tagged as well. not tagged, but labeled as continental us, or at least that's how i put it there. so that's just part of the process. so now it goes into. so what rates? now that we have a target focused towards where we're shipping to, what are the rates going to be? that's what this is about now. so let's go here where it says add rates and we have some options.

to do is i'm going to click on the order, then i'm going to click create shipping label, print shipping label, and then this is what my label will actually look like. after i print it, i'm going to attach it to my box and then i'm just gonna drop it in a mailbox around the corner and then that is pretty much it. so there you go. i mean, i didn't need to go to a post office, i didn't need to install any like third-party shipping app. i literally did this in under two minutes using shopify shipping. some of the main benefits of shopify shipping are, first and foremost, you're getting a discounted rate, so you can save up to 52 on canada post shipping rates, which is amazing, um. secondly, you guys just saw it here, but you can fulfill orders a lot faster, so you can buy and print your shipping labels in shopify and you're basically just skipping the line at the post office. and, third of all, you can manage it all in one place, so you really get to simplify your day-to-day and fulfill orders from the same place that you're managing your products, the same place you're managing your customers and your inventory. so everything is very organized and centralized. now, if you are wondering how you can do that for yourself, then i'm going to show you how you can get this all set up for yourself. it's not only going to save you a ton of time, but it's also going to save you money in the long run as well. all right, so let's start from the tippy top. so what we're going to do is we're going to go to our shipping settings in our shopify backend. so you're going to start by going to your settings and then you'll hit shipping. so, right away, we have different shipping methods. the nice thing about shopify is that you can do local delivery, you can do local pickup and then, of course, you can also ship through the mail. uh, local packages, i would say, are fairly straightforward to set up and i know, uh for sure you guys will be able to do that on your own. uh, so today we're really gonna focus on setting up your shipping via mail. so go ahead and click manage rates at the top. here we can see all the products that this shipping rate will apply to. so, by default, new products are going to be automatikally applied to this profile. also, while we're here, make sure that you're shipping from the right location, whether that is your house or your warehouse or your office. make sure that the address is correct. when you click a shipping zone, you are basically defining what the shipping rate will be for a customer that is in a specific part of the world. so you can choose specific countries. um, you can choose specific continents. i personally just find it easier to choose continents, but i mean, that's just me and it is definitely going to depend on what your needs are as a business. so for me, i'm going to just choose asia here, and then you can see that this category has now been created, but now we're going to have to tell shopify what we're actually going to charge for shipping to asia. so you're going to want to click add rate. so you have two options here: you can either set up your own shipping rate or you can use real-time carrier rates when you set up your own shipping rate. this is just going to be a flat rate, so here you would indicate how fast the shipment is going to be as well, and this estimation is going to show up for your customers at checkout. so just keep that in mind and then here you would decide the price. if you are going to set up your shipping rate, you would definitely need to do some research to decide what would be reasonable price wise. you can also input conditions depending on weight or order price. so, for example, if you wanted to offer free shipping on maybe your larger orders, you can do that right over here, and then, when we hit done, we're going to see that these customers can now take advantage of this shipping rate. so the other option that we had was to use carrier rates. so carrier rates are automatikally generated in real time. so basically, the shipping rate is calculated based on the weight, size and the destination of the package. i find this to be really convenient. i find it to be super nice as well, because this option is going to safeguard you from- not you know- dramatikally overcharging or dramatikally under charging for shipping. so for this you're going to want to choose your carrier and then you're going to want to choose the service that you're going to make available to your customers. i find that choosing only a few services helps customers not to freeze up at checkout. it's definitely going to reduce the amount of abandoned carts that you have, because too much option sometimes can be overwhelming. so what you can do is you can go with a budget friendly option, and then you can also go with a super speedy option, and that would be a really good place to start- and then down here, you can choose to add a handling fee, but i just want to let you know that this is probably going to increase your abandoned cart rate, so just keep that in mind. if you want to learn even more tips on setting up your shopify store. we've so if we just hit the back button here, we can see that we have a general shipping rate and that applies to all of our products. but then down here we also have a custom shipping rate and we can manage shipping rates on a product by product basis right over here. so from here we're going to click create a new profile and we can name this profile and here it says that customers won't see this. so we're going to call this poster, tubes, and then we can add specific products that this new shipping rate would apply to. so yeah, this is super simple. you would just go through the exact same I feel like I've told the story to everybody, but shipping made me lose so much money when I first started my business. it made me lose so much money because I did not research. I just I basically just felt like, oh, you have five dollars. I don't even know who gave me the thoughts of shipping for five dollars, but I didn't research anything about she thinks. so I went ahead on our shipping things for five dollars and I ended up seeing that last she's out selling for $10, that I was shipping for $5 when in reality the shipping at the post office was actually $11. I ended up making only about $4 out of it and in that $4 won not counting the cost of the websites hosting platform like Shopify or be katoa, when I counts in the cost of packaging, when accounts in the cost of all this- overhead costs. basically. so if you check out overhead costs, I was left with $2, all because I did not do my research on shipping. so since I've done my on it. I'm just going to save you some time and I'm just going to tell you everything you need to know about shipping. so, when it comes to shipping with big cattle and Shopify, um, those are the two platforms that I have used for my business. she lashes, so I can definitely speak about it confidently. so you have a choice to pick your career. so I'm in Canada, so I guess Canada Post- if you're in the states, I think you have the option of- I don't know if it's USPS or UPS, I don't know that the same thing or that difference, but you have that option. you also have the option of using FedEx. you also have the option of using DHL, but the reason why I stopped the Canada Post is because, realtively, they have like the cheaper rates. plus, if you have a business, they actually give you a business card that gives you a percentage off the shipping rates. I'm actually sure you guys what the business that looks like. so, yeah, this is what the color of post business card looks like and they just put your business name on the card. as you can see, this ACH is right there and when you go to ship, if you have that one of order that you know didn't come in through your website, maybe YouTube- the order from your friend, and then you're just going to process it manually. you can just show them this card at the post office and then they would apply your discounts. okay, so let's get into how to calculate shipping for your business. I would suggest you gather people and kind of write this down. so first of all, you need to know the average quantity of each order. so do you usually get most people order in just one item? do usually get most people ordering two items. so you're gonna figure that out. and then, after you figure it out, you're going to make a sample package and weigh it. okay, that weight is going to be very important when you need to determine your shipping cost. so, after you have weighed your parts, so you're gonna put that outside. and now we're going to go into research mode. there are two ways to do this. you either go on the carriers website and there's a place for you to put in your address and receivers address and then you'll be able to find a rate. but that is kind of like a waste of time because you're gonna have to do that for every single country to figure out how much you want to charge for every single country. so instead you're going to Google Canada Post shipping rates or usps shipping rates. I did my research a while ago and I printed, as you can see, this is my small pockets international and then this is my Canada shipping. basically it comes like a whole page. it's about hundred and something pages of documents for the different countries that your carrier can ship to and the different prices for the different services. so there's prices for experts, posters, price for expedited parcel. that's prices for next day delivery. that's prices for just regular delivery. everything is basically going to be in that document there. so now that you have gone on websites and you've kind of seen the different ranges that these companies are offering for shipping, you are not going to think of yourself as a consumer. I want to buy three pairs of lashes. it is going to cost me about forty five dollars. I started by three lashes from me for $45. I'm making well over 50% profits on that, and so it's in this point where I think: okay, four, three lashes. I wanted to give them fast shipping. I want them to get their lashes fast because it only makes sense I can bring any business. I want you to be happy now. do I want to charge them an extra fifteen dollars on shipping on top of that forty five that they're paying? or do I want to dip in my pocket, take out ten dollars from my profits that I will be making and tag them only five? so I'm basically covering some of the shipping cost with the cost of the lashes. now, it would be a good idea to do that because, like I said, you're making well about fifty percent of profits and so even if you take out ten dollars, you're still going to be making profits on those three lashes, including the overhead costs. so I have to do is figure out the overhead costs. figure out your cost of goods, not the cost that you are selling it for, about the cost of how much new body for, initially from your wholesaler and then where you add those together. you then compare it to the buying price, which is how much your customer is gonna pay you, and if you see that there is a huge range there that can accommodate some of the shipping to be hidden within that, then go ahead and hide it. even if you're you're hiding $5 in your costs and you're charging them only $10. someone rather pay $10 for extra detail or Express post than pay $15. someone sees an example: shipping within Canada is way more expensive for me than shipping to the states. so if I wanted to ship two pairs of lashes to the states, I would only have to charge my customers five dollars- five dollars for small pockets, air, and they're gonna get it in six to 12 days. but if they wants it faster in the States, I'm gonna charge them ten dollars because the post office is gonna charge me fifteen dollars to ship it to them fast. but I know that if I hide five dollars in my cause of lashes, I'm still able to make my profits and I don't want to chase customers away. the biggest reason a lot of people abandon their cart is because the shipping rates is just ridiculous. so if you're telling someone, okay, pay five bucks for six to 12 business days, and then they see a second option that says: or you can receive it within two to four days if you pick $10, that's paying double to receive it in half the time s.
