Becoming a Shopify Developer in 2022 (The Truth)
are you thinking of becoming a Shopify web developer? you're not quite sure how to get started and what is a proven process to start as a freelance Shopify developer or an agency owner. well, in this video, we're gonna tok about exactly that. we're going to cover which programming languages you need to learn, but also how to get your first sales, how to price a project and how to make sure you have a constant flow of projects so you can really take off as a Shopify web developer. what's more, we're going to cover which services are best to offer as a Shopify developer, because it's not just teams and custom themes and installing Shopify for clients. there's actually much more to it, and there is a service that is much more profitable than just selling themes, so it will also cover that. so why should you listen to anything that I say? why am i a credible source for information? well, I just spend nine years on up work myself. it used to be called oDesk, and after that I've also taught many people- over 700- how to also get started as freelancers and agency owners. so we have some pretty good data on how to become a Shopify web developer. so let's dive right into the content. but before we do that, Lee's hit the subscribe button and the Bell notification icon to support the channel and also to get future updates on which services to sell as a developer and how to get there. so what's going on right now is companies are starting to figure out that they need to have an online presence and not just a website or a WordPress website. what they're looking to do is they're looking to sell products on the Internet, and for this, the best current platform is Shopify, because it allows you to have an e-commerce presence on the internet. that is essentially the number one thing that Shopify developers sell. it is not the only thing, as I'll mention in a few minutes, but it's the number one thing and as the first thing a company needs, and it is an online presence, an ecommerce store. so, regardless of the current circumstances, what's actually going on is this industry is growing very rapidly because companies actually have no choice but to get started online, because they're closing shops and they're opening web shops. so let's dive a little bit deeper into how to sell them a project that's between six thousand and twenty five thousand dollars. so let's focus on three services. the number one service is, as I just said, Shopify themes and custom themes. but then there's a second service, and that is CRO, which is convert rate optimization. so once a client has an online shop Shopify store, they will need a conversion rate optimization, which is essentially how to make the website, how to make the e-commerce platform that they have, how to make it convert and not just be pretty, which is equally as important as setting up the shop in the first place. and you can charge for this monthly recurring, but we'll tok about pricing in a few minutes. and then there's a third service, which is the most expensive service that I know of in the Shopify ecosystem, and that is Shopify amps. now, Shopify apps is something you can get into once you are good and delivering stores, and Shopify apps are essentially extensions to the stores. they're extensions to what shop, if I can do, and it's essentially like a mini sass that you're building inside of the shop Shopify platform, and Shopify will promote the sass eater for your client or for yourself if you launch it yourself. if you're just starting out, it's probably better to sell the apps to other companies that are building apps instead of trying to launch the app yourself, because it's quite complicated and requires serious marketing dollars to launch an app yourself, but to sell it as a service, to sell Shopify apps to clients that are currently launching Shopify apps, is very accessible to most developers who have a lot of time on their hands and want to build a real business, or who wants to freelance. so let's tok about the programming languages that you wouldn't have to know as a Shopify developer. so the first one is for Shopify stores and Shopify 8 themes, and that is liquid. you need to know liquid to be able to work in that. also, you need to know html5 and css3. so which framework and programming languages you need to build Shopify apps? now there's a lot of choice here. however, the easiest to start with is Ruby on Rails, because there's a lot of examples and skeleton apps that are built in Ruby on Rails, so that's usually the easiest to store it. however, you can also use PHP, so it doesn't just have to be PHP or Ruby on Rails. really, anything that uses Jason REST API with auth will work. so for conversion rate optimization, this is a service that is a combination service of marketing and tik, because it's something that people buy after they need to build the Shopify store, because then the store needs to make money. it needs to actually convert into sales. now the best way to do conversion rate optimization is to have best practikes in place by looking at the best stores out there and also by testing. now thing is done with tools like Optimizely and also with Google content experiments, and of course, you also need to have Google Analytiks installed on the website to do CRO. so what you do in CRO, in a very short summary, is to test multiple versions of the same page in an a/b test them to see which one converts best for a certain type of traffic. as you can see, this is highly related to marketing. so if you're also interested in marketing, you should also offer conversion rate optimisation as one of your services. so let's tok about getting clients as a Shopify developer. so the easiest way to get started at the Shopify web developer is to join freelancing platforms which have already done the work of generating leads for you, in the sense that there are many projects on there where they're looking for developers and they're looking for freelancers and agencies to create Shopify implementations for them. now what are they looking for? all kinds of stuff, and they're not entirely sure how to explain it. however, if they're looking for Shopify and they're looking to install a Shopify store, optimize it and then build Shopify apps. that is essentially what you can do and you can offer that service, which is in very high demand right now, especially considering the circumstances- is growing. it's exploding. there is low supply and high demand, which means trisys can range between six thousand and twenty five thousand dollars. now if you're selling Shopify stores on upwork or a different freelancing platform, then only then does it make sense to start selling Shopify apps. you really need to understand how a Shopify store implementation works, what clients care about, and then you can create things like Shopify app, because it's a whole ecosystem on apps, just like with Android or Apple, but it is for an e-commerce platform essentially. so you really need to understand what is going on and for this you need to start creating Shopify stores as your first project that are in the range of $6,000, before you can get those big juicy 25k projects that our Shopify apps next up. I have a more detailed tutorial for you on how to get started as a developer on up work, so click the video right here, which goes into great detail, along with many other videos in the playlist, to explain exactly how to use up work and how to become a very successful developer on up work or an agency owner also have many other videos in the same playlist, so click Subscribe and watch the playlist right here now. if you have any questions, I would love to respond to them, so please comment in the comments below and I'll see you in this video right here on how to get started as a web developer on up work.
How To Use Shopify as A Web Developer in 2022
what's up, entrepreneurs? today I want to show you how to use Shopify as a web developer. so here we are in Shopify, have created a store. now I want to be able to customize it. right now I have the first starting out theme, which is called the view, and you can look at it here. we want to be able to change this completely with HTML and CSS. how do we do that? first, we need to download something called think it. think it's is Shopify his own tool to be able to control Shopify from the terminal, so you can download the code for your e-commerce platform and you can also edit the code in your favorite text editor. Shopify has created a small tutorial for this and I have put a link in the description. so to install theme kit, you can do it either with this curl command, which you put in your terminal, or you can do it with homebrew. homebrew is something I definitely recommend that you download and install if you're a web developer, because with homebrew you can install packages extremely easily. to install it, you go to this website, which I also have in the description, and you just paste this whole command into your terminal. once you have homebrew installed, you can just copy this command into the terminal like that, and I already have it downloaded. so I'm gonna terminate this and you copy paste the next command, which is brew: install theme kit. after you've done this, you have think it installed. now we have to create an API access point so that theme kids can modify your code. an API access point is basically something that lets your computer or other computers change and modify something on a remote database. this is how we create an API access point. we go into apps, manage private apps and generate API credentials. here you can write it- your name, test store in my case- and you don't need a contact email and, if you want, you can enable all access here if your, if you want to change all aspects of your website with code, okay, now we have changed all fields to read and write or read access. if read and write is not available, then we can click Save. so now Shopify is generating an API key for theme kit to be able to modify the code based on the database. so now we have the API key, let's download the theme and start changing it, and you download a theme by copying this command: theme figure, password and so on. you copy this command into where you want to download your files. so create a folder where you want to download your code. so after you created your folder, just navigate to that folder in the terminal. I have a trick: so after I write CD, which is navigate to that folder in terminal, I can just drag the folder here and terminal automatikally finds the path name for that folder. so now, as you can see, I am in the Shopify test folder and I can use the command that think it gave me in this tutorial. so now I've copied the command that simply gave me and we have to write in at the password the store name and your ID. and you get these from here, from the API key, and the things you need is the password which is generated here in your API key. so you just copy/paste this password and like that. and then you need the store URL, which is: let's start a business, dojo provider, come here. and then you need your team ID. you get up from clicking customize in the first page of Shopify, click customize. then in the URL you get this number which is the theme ID. so you just copy paste this theme ID and boom, now you have configured your theme kit and then you can download the code base. you do that by writing this command: theme download. so now we have downloaded the code base for the Shopify website. you can see it here. here are all the files which make up your store and you can see it uses the extension dot liquid. that's because Shopify uses a programming language called liquid. we can open this up in your editor, in your favorite text editor, and I love to use this command with atom, where you navigate to your folder and then you can just write atom dot, which opens up all the code for that folder. so what do we do if we want to change this code? well, first of all, we have to make it so that theme kit watches the folder, which means that if we make any changes in the folder and in files and save them, then think it will update the website automatikally. so we do that by just writing theme watch. now think is is watching for file changes and if we change something, it will change website. so what's the advantage of using this? well, let's say we want to change this header and we don't like the search icon because, or may-maybe, our website is really small and we don't need people to be able to search. and, as you can see, in the customizable section of Shopify we can't remove that search icon. we have to change this in the code. so let's find the header in our code here in our on. our Shopify folder is organized into assets, config, layout, local sections, snippets and templates. assets are stuff like images, JavaScript files, CSS files. our header won't be there. the config is all the colors and all stuff which sets the style over the entire website. we don't really need to change here. in the layout folder we have a theme, that liquid file, and this is the main page for all sides in Shopify. theme that liquid is a dynamic page and it changes depending on what page you're on. it's dynamic because you can see it has a variable and you see it's a variable because you have double e curly braces content for layout. this variable is created when you go into different types of endpoints on your website. if you go to about, then it will render the about template. if you go to catalog, it will render the catalog template and above the div here we can see that we're rendering a section called header and it's header that we want to change. but since we have the section header in the theme file, it means that header is shown in all pages on the website. the header is in the section folder, as you can see here we are in the header and we want to remove the search icon. how do we do that? well, let's make it easy and use search for search, search, research. that's cannot matter because of shop refines, customizability- there is a lot of code that it's not being used at the moment and we can check which settings we have for the header display. let's click customize and then header. the logo alignment setting is not put in centered, it's put in left. then we know we have that setting. so we go back here to Adam and we see that actually this part that we found has the section that settings that aligned go centered. so if we change anything in this setting, you won't get any effect on the website because we have the setting left. we need to find left, the, the part where it says left. let's continue to click through and see if we can find the left setting. and here we are. so if section that settings that aligned logo equals left, which it is, include search form. so you use include when you want to add a snippet. so search form is a snippet and but we don't want to use this snippet because we want to remove the ability to search on the website. let's just take this away or comment it out. I'm gonna delete it because I'm not gonna use it. and voila, it's gone. we have removed search from the entire website. that's great. you could not be able to do that if you just used the Shopify normal tools. you have to change the code in order to remove search. now I want to show you how you create a totally new page, such as an about page. we can start with just duplicating this file, page stat, liquid- and we can name it page that about, like this: let's add hello from about to show that we're actually changed, making changes. once you have created that file. you go to pages here, back at Shopify add page, and you come to this place and here you have to choose the template for which you want to make your page from, and you see that we in template civics, we have page that about, which is the one that we have created. so let's change the title to about us, and about us was successfully created. we can view this in your online store and we see that.

Web Development Jobs - Shopify Development
hey guys, it's your boy, joe, back at it again: codingfacecom. in this video, we're going to be toking about shopify development and the type of jobs that's out there that you guys can apply to. okay, so let's get started. all right, guys? so the first thing that we're going to do is we're going to go to indeedcom and we're going to search shopify developer and then from there, we're going to remove the location. we don't have to put anything here, just leave it blank and automatikally, we just look for all the jobs in the united states. okay, now, in here shows us that there's about 1115 jobs, uh, that are mentioning shopify developer, right, or mentioning those two keywords together, uh. so, basically, uh, let's take a look at a couple of jobs in here. right, so we got a couple of listings here, uh, but i already took the liberty to show you guys this other companies that are also looking for shopify development. so we don't waste no time, yeah, so let's get started with this one: mir, uh, holdings, and this is like a water company, right, or a water bottle company. it seems pretty cool, and if we look over here, i don't know if you guys could see this, but, uh, basically, they're using shop pay. they're using shopify. uh, they're using hotjar, google analytiks, react, mustache, honda bars or preact. uh, core js, jquery. uh, they're pretty much using the, the whole shebang. they're throwing the whole kitchen at it. they're using everything that you can use, okay, so, yeah, man, uh, pretty cool website, right? so this is like the type of website that you will be working on. okay, it's an ecommerce website. uh, now, what exactly is it that they're asking for? so let's take a look over here, right? so it says: founded 2010, based in seattle, washington. okay, pretty nice. okay, so they're looking for somebody who's going to have the responsibilities of design, engaging and effective category marketing landing pages. okay, so you're gonna be working on the landing pages for this. uh, perform ongoing website maintenance. uh, this is something that you guys should know when you are working with an e-commerce company. just because the website is up and running and everything seems to work perfectly, guess what? you still gotta maintain it. you still gotta add new features. you gotta do a and b testing, right? so there's a lot of stuff that comes with e-commerce. so a website is never finished, right? so you build the e-commerce website. even though it's making money, it's getting customers in there, it's never done. there's always something else to add to it or to test. okay, so, yeah, complete extensive kuwait testing to ensure performance is consistent across all platforms. okay, maintain, improve website landing pages, pdps collections, while optimizing map for maximum speed. okay, uh, let's see. uh, what were they giving? okay, benefits, working, high growth, impact, certified b corp medical, dental insurance- okay, unlimited vacation time. i, i never can understand this unlimited vacation time. what does this mean? does it mean that i just sign up and then, hey guys, i'll see you guys next year? like i always get confused with this, i wish they they could just tell you: hey, man, you got two weeks certification, you got three weeks of vacation, you got four weeks of vacation, whatever it is. so like that people could actually know. uh, but yeah, professional development, a career coaching, conference attendance- okay. product discounts, pro deals with partners: okay, pretty nice. now let's get into the net inquiry. okay, three to five years experience with shopify plus development required, right, this, right? here is a wish list. not a lot of people have this. right, they could be here for a year, two years, trying to find somebody with five years of shopify plus development- a game of experience- and the guys that already have five years of experience. most likely they're either building their own company or they're working at a company that they're paying them top dollar, right? so it's going to be very difficult for them to just go get up and leave and switch to another company. so this is where we come in, right? this is where we come in and we can demonstrate that, hey, we can do the job right, and, yes, we don't have three to five years, but guess what? we can do the job right, like you don't need five years to do. shopify plus development: okay, uh, proving experience with uh. visual interaction, design, architecting, optimizing for website applications. solid knowledge of double creative suite: right, it's always important to know about uh design softwares- right, so that's what they probably use. uh, liquid, of course. shopify plus, uh, html5, css, javascript and php- right. key php- right, so you can never go wrong with this. okay, uh, from there, let's see what else they got: agile, right. leadership teammates: okay, passionate about building world-class digital experiences- uh, experience with saina. so here we go. okay, asana: right, this is a project management tool. i kind of gave you guys a tutorial about this and i told you guys: a lot of companies is gonna look at that as a plus and i told you. so okay, just saying i told you, slo, you know what i mean. like i told you guys this: you want to look like a professional. you want to look like you've been using the tools that the professionals use, right, uh, so like that could be a very easy journey to onboard you into the company and that's what they really care about. they want somebody that can hit the ground running. they don't want to go in and have to explain every single little thing for two, three weeks or even a month or more. okay, we want somebody that could come in and understand the process of e-commerce, can understand the tools that we're already using, so then he can be productive and we don't have to waste time. okay, so this is something that's pretty cool that they're asking for. all right, so that's one company. there's another one- it's called canvasprintcom, where you can check that website out. okay, this is what they have: very nice, very simple. okay, definitely a shopify website. i can tell already, um, from there. let's go in and check this out. okay, so they're using shopify, shop pay. uh, what else they're using? apple pay, google play. they pay, they everything pays. they're using everything. they. right now they're saying: we got cash app, right, if you got money, we got a product for you. again, a and b testing, they use, uh, vwo, uh, let's see what else they also use in clavio, right, clavio is, uh, you know, it's a shopify application, uh, which now is huge, right, i think it's their value like over a billion dollars or something like that. uh, which is crazy. you create a shopify app and now it's like, hey, uh, it's value at more than a billion dollars. that's crazy. okay, so this is one of the companies canvas prints. they're paying 100 to 140 000, okay, uh, this is definitely a bigger company, uh, than even mi ir, right, uh, but, yeah, as you can see, they're willing to put their money out there. okay, they're looking for somebody, uh, with experience, right, ruby on rails preferred, right, so, most likely, what they're expecting is for somebody i know, shopify plus, okay, um, most likely, you know, because shopify is built on shopify plus, they do want somebody to understand, uh, the whole ecosystem of ruby and how it works, and that's fine, like i told you guys. so, encodingfacecom, by the way, if you want to learn all of those things like this is what we do at codingfacecom, right, we prepare you. we give you access to all the courses that you need. so even when you show up to any interview, you could go in there and be like, yeah, i know about 80 of the things that you're mentioning right, and i'm leaving that extra 20 because the extra 20 could be things like: you know software that they might be using, or you know a and b testing programs that they might be using, right, or different type of uh paradigms that they might be using, whatever right, uh. so we leave that little twenty. we can't say a hundred percent of everything that they asking for. we're gonna teach it. it's impossible. we don't know every single software that they're using, but as far as the tiknical side, we teach you al.

How To Design A Shopify Store In 10 Minutes (Step-By-Step)
having a bad website will kill your chances of success on shopify, even if you have the best products and ads. it's so much harder to see results with a low quality store. so in this video, i'll be sharing the exact store template that i'm using right now to generate over a hundred thousand dollars a month, and i'll be showing you, step by step, exactly how to easily build one for yourself. if you're new here, my name is jordan and i'm currently documenting the entire process of growing my ecommerce brand with as much transparency as possible. so if you're interested in starting your own online business, make sure to subscribe for new videos every single friday. also just want to say thank you guys so much for 50 000 subscribers. so to give back to you guys, i'm gonna do something that i usually don't do. i'm gonna give away a free one-on-one coaching call to one of you. to enter the giveaway, just drop a comment down below, follow me on instagram and dm me. when you're done, i'll be announcing the winner for this next friday. anyways, let's get started with the video. first things first. here are some live results that i'm getting with this exact template. so, as you can see halfway through the day, i've already done over 2500 in sales and if we look at yesterday's stats, you can see that this store is averaging around five thousand dollars a day. everybody is always asking about profit, so let's take a look. yesterday i did around fifteen hundred dollars in profit and today, so far, halfway through the day, i'm at around in profit, which is close to 30 daily margin. i'm not showing this to brag, but just to prove that this layout is working. today, i figured the best way to explain this would be to make a sample store that follows this exact template, so that's what i did. let's have a look at that sample store. so this is a store that i created in the home and garden niche- the type of stores that i like to build to test products look just like this. basically, we're building a nice, clean, branded store with good logo, good images, multiple collections inside of that niche, high quality products and images and, overall, a trustworthy and legitimate feel. i get dms every single day of people asking me: why am i struggling to see results? and then i look at their store and it looks like this: if you take the time to make a nice, clean, branded website, seeing success with ecommerce is going to be so much easier. this kind of store is perfect for testing products because it is branded, it has a trustworthy feel, but it's also broad enough that you can test a variety of products without being too constrained. i like to call this kind of store a hybrid store. it basically bridges the gap between a general and niche store. building a store like this is really not that difficult, so i'm gonna break down how to do it right now. the first thing that you're gonna need to come up with is a clean name and logo. to come up with names, i highly recommend you guys check out this tool called lean domain search. basically, you can take any word or phrase that you like and plug it into here and they're gonna show you websites that are ready to go that have this word inside of it. so in my case, i used the word flora because it fit perfectly for the home and garden space, and i scrolled and scrolled until i found the name flora flow, which i really like. all of the names on this website are available to purchase for the com domain right away, so i would take some time and try to come up with at least five phrases that would fit with your branding. so now that you've come up with a name, you need to create a logo now. i know graphic design might be intimidating to a lot of you, but nowadays there are a ton of tools that make it incredibly simple. one of my favorite tools to do this is actually called canva. canva has a bunch of these logo templates already built into the app, and it's actually what i use to build the flora flow logo. you can literally scroll through their library and find a clean logo for your brand in seconds and know this video is not sponsored by them. i just really like their product. so, as you can see, the template that i use for the floraflow logo is right here. i literally typed in flower. i looked at the options, i found this one and i just simply typed in the logo name and then i made it a little bigger, centered it in the middle and i deleted the bottom and i made a logo for the brand in 10 seconds. now, look, it's going to take you longer than 10 seconds and you shouldn't rush the process, but i would highly advise you guys. use that tool to build your logo. i'm also a big fan of photoshop. for my brand that i'm running right now, i designed my logo in photoshop, but it's a lot more advanced and not very beginner friendly. once you've got a name and a logo, the next step is to build out a nice home page for your store. now, when you're running ads to this store, typically you're going to send people to the product pages. yeah, you might have a cool product, you might have a cool product page, but if your customer starts browsing around your website and they get a weird vibe, they're not going to spend money with you and even if they do, the chances of them remembering your brand and buying again are so slim. so this is the exact layout that i use for all of my home pages. let's break it down. there are a ton of themes to use on shopify and it can kind of be overwhelming. this store is actually built on the impulse theme, which is by far one of my favorite paid themes, and if you're looking for a good free theme, i recommend that you guys check out debutify. i've used both of them and personally i like impulse a little better, but if you're on a low budget, debutify is an amazing option. first things first. we need a nice and clean header. try to come up with something creative that introduces the people to your brand in a very inviting way. now i could have easily wrote the best products for your home and garden, but i think it's much better to put something that has a little bit more flair and life to it. so in this example, i put stylus essentials for the modern home designed to elevate your lifestyle. if you're struggling with copywriting, just go look at some of the biggest brands out there. in terms of this image and all the images on the site, shopify actually provides a bunch of really sick free images and a lot of people don't know about this. so if you go down to image and you click on change and you go to free images, you can search up almost anything. so in my case, i searched up flower and you'll see that shopify has a bunch of these really nice high quality images that they're constantly updating almost every single week, and they're really fire. the next thing i do is typically put one of our collections on display. in this case it's the best sellers, because those are my favorite products on the store, so i wanted to put those front and center and when they click on it, you're gonna see that these are our top selling products and a nice, clean, organized page. we also give them an offer with up to fifty 50 off on the select products, and it's just something that gives them some incentive to click and start shopping. the next thing that i really like to do is show some type of mission statement for the brand. i think that this really helps your customers connect with you and feel like they're a part of something greater than just buying a product. so you can see, what i put here is that we want to help over 10 000 people create their dream environment through providing our own unique products worldwide. now, this is going to be different for everybody, so make sure that you come with something unique for your brand. and once again, i just took the image directly from shopify. now, the next thing that i threw in here: it was just a promotion. you don't need to have this, but i included it because i thought it looked nice, so you can just see it's 50 off of our spring and summer collection. and then i just put a little blurb about stay at home and stay at peace with these essentials t.

Now, to complete creating your account, Fill up all these details and then click ‘enter my store’ And now you will get this page. Once you reach this page, it means that you have now successfully created your Shopify account. So Once you have created your Shopify account, your website will also be created. So to check that, let’s open a new tab And type our website address, Which is ‘the name of your store’: DOT, myshopifycom. So I’m going to type gotoklothmyshopifycom. And now, if you press enter, you can see that we have now got our website. So right now we have 2 pages, which is our homepage & our ‘products’ page. Now, if you scroll down, you can see that our site is empty. So Once you’ve got your website, We can now start building it. So we’re going to build our site in just 2 parts. The first part is to ‘Set up your store’ A store is the place where your customers can look at all your products and then purchase them. So once you set up your store, your site will have your own products and your visitors will be able to purchase them. So we are going to set up our store in just 5 steps. The first step is to log in to your Shopify website. So to log in to your website, all you have to do is Just go to your website address And then type /admin. Now this is the address, which will take you to the admin page of your website. So now, if you press enter, You can see that we’re on the admin page where we can control our website. So once you’ve logged in, we can now go to step 2, of setting up our store, which is to ‘add your products to your site’. So to add products, Just click products And click ‘add product’ And it will take you to this page where you need to add the details about your product. So, to add a product to your site, Just enter your product name. here, As I want to sell a T-shirt, I'm going to enter T-shirt, And here you need to enter the details of the product. So lets do that Once you finish entering the details. Now here you need to add an image of the product. So to do that, Just drag an image from your computer and then drop it here. Next, you need to enter the price of the product. So I’m going to enter ‘50$’. Finally, here you need to enter the number of products that are available. So Lets say you have 10 pieces of this product Available in stok, Then just enter 10. here I’m going to enter 10. So, after adding the details of the product, Just scroll up and click ‘save’. And now the product has been successfully added to your website. So if we go to our product page And click ‘refresh’, you can see that we now have our product here. And now, if you click on the product, You can see that we can now buy this product. So this is how you can add a product to your website. In the same way, you can add any number of products you want to your website. Okay, Now, if we click ‘buy now’, You can see that we’re getting this message Which says ‘checkout is not available’ So this means your customers will not be able to buy products from your website. So to let customers buy products from our site, we need to choose a plan for our Shopify account. So let’s go to step 3, which is to ‘Choose a plan on Shopify'. So to do that, let’s go back to Shopify Now, click ‘home’ and then click ‘select a plan’. Now here you can see 3 different plans which you can choose from. You can take a look at these features and select the one you want. I’m going to select this one Now. here you need to choose how often you want to make the payment. I’m going to choose every 30 days. Now, to choose this plan, Let’s click ‘add credit card’ And here it will ask you to enter your card details. Now, if you continue using shopify after 14 days, then your card will be charged. So let’s enter our card details And then click ‘confirm’. Okay, So now we have successfully chosen our plan, which means we can now see our checkout page. So now, if we go to our product page and click ‘buy now’, You can see that we have now got our checkout page And we can add our shipping details. Okay, So let’s enter our details and click ‘continue to shipping' Now, here you can see that we have NO option to make payment. So in order to allow customers to pay for your products, you need to set up your payment method. So next let's go to the step 4, [of setting up our store], which is to set up our payment method. So to set it up, Let’s go back to Shopify. Now click ‘settings’ And then click ‘payments'. Now, here you will find several payment options which you can add to your site. If Shopify payment option is available in your country, You can activate this payment. But If you don't have this option, Just scroll down, select third-party providers And you will find more payment methods which you can add to your site. I’m going to choose ‘stripe’, which is a popular payment method, So lets click that and you will get this page. Now here. you need to fillup these details, So lets do that. Now scroll down, Fillup your bank details where you want to receive your payment. Now, when someone buys a product from your site, the money will be sent to this account, Okay. Next, let’s enter our email and give a password for our stripe account. Now, Once you’ve entered all of these details, Click authorize access to this account. As you can see, we’ve added a payment method to our website, So this means our payment setup is now complete. now, if we go to our checkout page And click ‘refresh’, you can see that, instead of the error message, we can now pay using our card. So now we've successfully set up our payment method. Okay. So, once you’ve set up your payment method, We can go to the final step of setting up our store, which is to ‘Make your site available to your Visitors’. Now, if we open a new browser window And go to our website, You can see that Our site is not yet visible. So, to make your site visible to others, You need to change a setting in Shopify. So to change that setting, Let’s go back to Shopify And click ‘online store’. Now, here you can see that our site is password protected, which means no one else can see it right now. Now, to make your site visible to your visitors, Click ‘disable password’ and it will take you to this page. Now, here, disable this option And click ‘Save’. So now your website will be visible to your customers. So now, if we go back to this tab and click ‘refresh’, You can see that our site is now available to our visitors. Now, if you go to store, we can now see the product we added. So now we've successfully completed setting up our store, And this means anyone who is visiting your site will now be able to buy your products. Now let’s try to buy a product from our site. So to do that, lets go back to our website. Lets go to our store Now, just like a customer would do. lets select this product and
How I start a Web Development business and train Shopify Developers and Digital Marketers? | part 1
so right now i'm uh hiring shopify who actually i should say i'm hiring employees and uh kind of turning them out into shopify developers. right now i think if you watched my last video you should know i've started the web development business, currently have four clients. our aim is per employee. i need about 200 clients on a regular that i'm hosting regularly. um goal is about 20 a month for basic hosting, 50 a month um to add a shopify feature to it. and i'm going to be hiring and training digital marketers. i'm going to be hiring and training basic coders, software engineers, web developers that know html and css and maybe just the basic basics of javascript such as jquery you know. for css they just need to know, like flexbox, grid, sas. you know which is scss basics you know. know how to get um basics and uh html. you know semantik html basics. um, with those we can i can help you trans them. transition into liquid, which is shopify's uh programming language for uh, their template uh, where we can edit the templates and build templates. that's not a necessity, this is just something that we're you know. with this, we're just going to be uh leveling up our javascript skills and our uh you know marketability by uh, and actually complete some projects and get paid for them. i plan on having, uh, each of my developers- just if you're just working on like so for the clients, i'm probably gonna charge them like 300, so, and then 20 a month, um, so that we can feed the business. uh, that's what i want- to be able to pay my developers and eventually, once i get 200 customers for them each- you know on our platform that- so- so basically for me i want 200 customers. 20 a month times 200, it's 4 000.. that's a thousand dollars a week. that's a decent salary that i can live off of. i want to get to the point where i have clients, for i'm going to get to the point where i have enough clients to sustain myself and then every additional client goes to sustain that developer. they'll still be working for me and we'll still be building new websites, uh, and getting that. you know, three hundred dollars per website that we build, but really our, my goal is to have the subscription hosting that we're charging um. i do want to add a marketing part, but that's, that's down the line. we're gonna get the development part out the way first and then we can train our marketers. i do plan on hiring some marketers for myself, uh, training them, uh, and uh, you know. so i plan on, like, off of every website that we get right, we'll charge them bare minimum three hundred dollars. first hundred dollars goes to the marketer, next hundred dollars goes to the developer and then the final hundred dollars goes to the business. um, you know, prices are going to vary. i do plan on charging, you know, anywhere from like it should be like 500 to a thousand dollars, or like a thousand to twenty five hundred dollars. uh, the websites are going to be like hybrid, so i'm not sure if that's the right term, but it's gonna be like shopify, uh, it's gonna be like on a sub domain and then the rest of the website's gonna be like custom coded, like html, css, javascript, hosted on, you know, our, our hosting. uh, i'm gonna have to buy some uh cpanel accounts and whhm, cs, uh, but as well as the vps, but that all came up. so only like forty dollars a month and i can manage, like, at that price i'll get, i'll get. i can have like between like 18 and 30 or something like that, like 18, uh, um, besides that, uh, really, what we're going to be doing is just building, knocking out these projects i am going to need, so i'm not sure if i. so what i'm going to, what i'm going to do, is i'm going to start everybody off at like a contracting position like 10.99. this will also be good experience. i know a lot of you are looking to transition. this will be that stamp on your resume that hey, he's worked. so there you go. also, i do want to get you guys into some kind of recurring commission, recurring monthly commission. oh, i'm not sure if i want to do that, though. you know i kind of like royalties being for myself and paying everybody just a one-time fee, because, but you know, i'm saying, like down the line, i am thinking about adding like a recurring commission kind of thing. so, uh, but for now i'm just gonna be paying everybody cash and, uh, if the commission comes along, it comes along. you know, maybe i'm toking too much, but i'm just trying to let you know what's going on with me, how i'm like. i don't want to work doing something i don't want to do. i want to be able. i want to be able- to manage, code and develop, learn what i want to learn and help other people. for the most part. i have succeeded with that, so that's good. you know, god's got my back, so i'm not worried. it's not perfect, but i'm gonna figure out how to make that money. you know, i've worked at these call centers, i've been working with att in just a bunch of places and it seems like you know, when you're working sales and stuff, people want to be so unethical out here and it's like you know, i've worked in different environments and just the unethical things that go on. just i i feel like i'm in this situation. so i don't have to be in those situations, or, matter of fact, i just took myself out of these situations. i just want to do the right thing. so that's what i'm doing. you know, i put up my business on google business and you know, people just started calling like: hey, you know, do you have a job? no, but i could like. if you want to work, you know we can work something out. i might not be able to pay you by the hour, but eventually, you know, that may be an option. uh, for now, we can just pay you by the project and you can work it on the side. i'm not even telling you to quit your day job, i'm just telling you to just build the projects on the side, you know, learn with us and, uh, you know, study groups and all that. i'm going to get that going soon so that the people that are building websites and projects are able to, you know, learn at the same time. it's beautiful, i do. thank god for just everything, uh, um, and we're just gonna keep it up. we're gonna keep on building, we're gonna keep on grinding like guys on discord, yo, you guys haven't? you guys have messaged me on discord. i haven't replied. y'all call my number: 561-305-8120. that's w3 develops phone number. it's my phone number and so you get me on the phone. you know i do cook during the day, you know, so i can have a place to stay. but besides that, i'm just coding all day and, like, we're ready, like to make this money, um, and be ready to put those study groups on soon, once i'm able to just focus, but right now we're just gonna be coding. so make sure that you like, make sure you subscribe, make sure you hit that bell, not just no, but just call me if, uh, you know, this sounds like something you'd be interested in. um, you're digital, like i do need to reach out to my digital marketers. there's such a big base on them like that i'm a little afraid to sit there and reach out to digital marketers like, hey, are you guys looking to learn? no, oh no, like i'm gonna do it, but we're gonna, like we're gonna get so much traction, like, so i only wanna say traction, just so much interest. it's like i don't want to make it too much on myself teaching too many people. you know, like, make it too much on myself, it'll be a whole new curriculum, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. i don't know. i'm going to figure it out, though. it's going to be fun, right? i'm going to do it anyway. if you look on the website, look on there. you've notiked digital marketing has been one of the classes, curriculums that i've wanted to do for a while. so what's next? so shopify- that's what we're doing right now: custom code in shopify. i think we'll be, uh, making some, some changes around here, set up some digital marketing classes and get people going on there. i got some buddies that y'all already know about it, so you know i can reach out to you guys, which is pretty nice, um, but i'm about to get out of here. you guys have a great rest of your day. hit me up um let's make some money. figure this out, if y'all want to do i.
