How To Setup Conversion Tracking For Google Shopping in Shopify
hey, it's Michelle Green and in this video I'm gonna show you how to set up conversion tracking for google shopping. the Google Shopping had these Shopify install that, but it doesn't insert tracking so that your Google AdWords tool can track conversions. so this video is gonna show you how to do that. first thing you're gonna do is log into Google Ads, go to tools, click on conversions and here you'll see a list of tracking details that the Google Shopping app will automatikally install. but, as you can see, the tracking status says unverified, and this is because we still need to add the tracking codes. so all the tracking codes you need you can find under Google shopping app at purchase. so click on that and then scroll down to the second section. is this tag set up? and click on it. click on install the tag yourself and here you'll see two tracking codes that you're going to need to install. so the first thing we would do is copy the first tag. go back into Shopify store from action, select edit code. click on thing you got liquid. scroll down to the ending head- peg right here and want to paste that clone just before the closing head tag here and then click Save. next you're gonna go down to settings, click on checkout, scroll down to additional scripts and paste that code in there as well. it's going to be additional sleeping of cold that I'm going to provide in the description of this video. they'll be actually three sleeping, and you want to take that first, snip it and paste that before the tag. okay, let's just make sure that they're only tracking visitors once. so that's what that call is going to do, and then there's another tracking code that we'll need to add in here. so what you wanna do is go back into AdWords, scroll down to that second code, which will be the event stupid copy- and then paste that beneath the first snippet, and what you're gonna do is replace these two values here with the codes- the second codes that I have provided in the description of this video- and what you're going to do is you want to replace everything after the colon for these two pieces of information. so, which is value? you want to replace this after the code, move it to a second lines on one backspace to get back up to the line that was face after the corner. and next, do you want to replace the transaction iview gotten, paste that in there and then clips a. so what you're placing those are going to do is it's going to allow you to track the transaction volume. so without it it's just clean track conversions. it won't track the cell dollar amounts and you know you want every additional layer of data but you can process you get to kinda help you make decisions in the future. so this is going to add in the tracking for the dollar amount. so with these updates, when you go into AdWords, you go to tools or go to conversions, the tracking status will update within 24 hours to say verify, with the exception of purchase. you won't see anything until that, until you get your first purchase, and then that will update. but now you will also see. you're trying your conversion data in here so that you can measure, you know how much money you're making or how many conversions you're getting, reverses the amount that we're spending, reverses the clicks number cuts that you're getting. so that's how you set up conversion tracking before the do the shopping: Google Ads. but this has been helpful to you. please leave a thumbs up and also any the comment letting us know how this information has helped. ya, thank you.
Google Ads Conversion Tracking On Shopify [The Right Way]
let's tok about shopify conversion tracking for google ads. in this video, i'm going to be going over actually two separate ways that you can set up your shopify conversion tracking. there's one way where you where you can do it directly through google ads, and another way that you can do it directly through google analytiks. now i'm going to tok about the pros and cons of both and show you how to set up both of them. that way you can understand which one might be better for you and the shopify store that you have, and we're going to basically go through all that and then at the end, i will tok about what which methods i prefer to use and the pros and cons of both of those. so let's jump right in. the first thing that i do want to show you, if you aren't familiar with why you need to set up conversion tracking for your google ads account. this is why it's important. so if we come over here to this view and actually jump inside of an account, you can see inside of here: um, we can. we have this column for conversion value and conversion value over cost. basically, this is how much these campaigns have made in dollars amount and you can see how much we have spent over here in the left-hand side, and then this gives us the conversion value of our cost, shows us our return at on ad spend. so if you haven't set up your conversion tracking and you're running ads inside of google, inside of google, you don't know how much it's costing you to get a customer right. so, as you can see, this campaign right here is getting us. every dollar we're putting into it, we're getting 8.26 back, and then on some of these other ones we're getting 3.94. so it kind of gives you an idea. and then this one, you know, we're getting a 1.71. so maybe we need to pause that campaign because it's not really super profitable for us. so there's there. this is the reason why you want to set that up, so that you can go and optimize your campaigns, understand where you want to allocate more dollars, understand where you want to allocate less dollars, and i highly recommend it, if you're going to be running any ads inside of google ads for your shopify store, to set up this conversion tracking. now let's get into actually how to set this up, the two different methods. the first way that i'm going to show you is actually through google ads, um, how to go in and set up your conversion tracking, and then the other way that, the way that i'll show you after, is google analytiks setup as well. so the first thing that you're going to want to do is you're going to want to come into a, your google ads account. so here's the dummy account that i have here. from the google ads account, you're going to click on this tools and settings button and then you're going to hit conversions. we're going to let this load up and then from here, you're going to see- you may see conversions that you've already submitted or you may not. we're going to hit this plus button and then we are going to click on website conversions. we want this category to be purchased. you can name this whatever you like. simply, i like to do purchase and then wherever the the um, the conversion is coming from. so for here, i like to purchase, shopify the value. you want to use a different value for each conversion. you can leave this as one. for now i'm going to- we're gonna all have a little code that you can edit so that this dynamically tracks the actual value of your um sales, because chances are, on your store you have items that sell for maybe ten dollars, some that sell for twenty dollars. so you want that value to be pulled in, so that you know when you're spending ten dollars you're getting 20 back, 30 back, whatever it may be. so click on that option there. don't worry about this number right now. we're going to change that a little bit later. we do want to count every, because if customers are coming back to your store and doing re repeat purchases, you want to keep track of that. for these conversion windows. i would leave all these other settings just as is for now. later you can change your attribution model. but chance, sorry, if this is a new shopify store, you're not going to have too many options to kind of play with inside of there, so i wouldn't worry about those ones. next we're going to hit create and continue and then you're going to notike. it's going to ask for a couple of different options. for this one we're going to do install the tag ourself, and then it's going to give us a couple different codes here. so, as you can see, here it's going to ask for the global site tag and for us we're going to assume that the global site tag is not already on your website, so we're going to copy this thing right here, and then we're going to go to our shopify store and the first thing you're going to need to do is come over to online store and then, from the online store, you want to click on themes. and then you want to click on actions and you want to edit code from here. you want to find the themeliquid. we're going to click on that. next we're going to scroll till we find the end head tag, and what that looks like is basically this little head tag, just with a backslash at it. so, right here is our end head tag, and if you could do command find and find it there as well, we're gonna go here. i'm going to click enter, just so. i'm right above that in the head tag, and then we're going to enter in this global site tag inside of there. okay, and then from here we're going to go over to the settings tab. once inside the settings, we're going to come here to checkout, and then you want to scroll down until you see this little box here that has the order status page. now, chances are you probably have no code inside of here. you may or may not if you are tracking something else, but for this one we're going to scroll down and enter in that code right there, that global site tag inside of that page. like i said, you may or may not have code inside of here, depending on what you are currently tracking. then we are almost done. we're almost in the home clear. then we're going to go back over to our google ads account and then we are going to have this event snippet. we need to add this one on here. we want it to be on the page load because this is our order confirmation page. we're going to go back over to our shopify account. then we're going to hit enter a couple times, paste that in here and then this is really important. so right now, if we left this as is, it would, every time somebody purchased the value would just be one dollar. but what we need to do is actually go over and i will leave this code in the bottom of the description. but what you need to do is copy this code, come here to the value and then replace the value there. make sure you highlight the whole thing right there, and then now we are going to be tracking that value dynamically. and then one other thing we need to do is grab the transaction id and put that inside of there, just like that. i was very careful here and then now we are officially tracking that conversion value dynamically. we're going to then hit save here and then we can go back over to our google ads account and then hit next and now. congratulations, you've set up your purchase, conversion and action inside of shopify. now you're going to notike when this comes in. it's going to say unverified, because the it won't be verified until somebody actually goes through and hits that page. so just keep that in mind for that transaction. now, that was the steps to complete this for the directly through google ads. like i said, i do want to show you both ways so that you understand. now i do want to make it very clear: you don't want to go through and set this conversion action up for both the way that i just showed you and the way i'm going to right now. if you do that, you're going to be double tracking conversions. you want to do one or the other way, essentially. so now i'm going to show you how to do this through google analytiks. so if you wanted to run this through google analytiks, the first thing you will need is a google analytiks account and unfortun.

👉Google Ads Ecommerce conversion Tracking | Tracking by GTM
hello, beautiful people. in this tutorial i'm gonna tok about google ads conversion tracking, so how we can track google apps from our e-commerce platform. so let's see on my screen: [Music]. so this is our website ecommerce website. and now i'm going to google ads tracking by gtm, then tools and setting. then i'm gonna conversion from measurement. then we will see on here: new conversion action. i just click new conversion action. we got from website. that's why i select website. then they are showing me our website domain on here. so this is our website domain. i just copy and paste on here. then we can select scan. so they have excant. i can save and continue. so they are required at last. one conversion action. i just add manually. then i select purses on here: purchase, optimize this, each conversion and we use one and we need to track every conversion. then we will see one here and these are always recommended. i just click done. then save and continue. so we got a tracking code, but we don't use this code. we are using google tag manager. that's why i am select google tag manager. then we will got on here conversion id and conversion level. so i right now i'm select done. so this is our purchase conversion from website. i just click again and then we will see one here: tag setup- google tag manager. then we will get same conversion id and conversion level. now i am going to google tag manager. this is our google tag manager from this website. i just add a new tag. that configuration here is google ads conversion tracking. i just select this stack and then we will see one here: conversion id and conversion level. i just copy the conversion id from here and paste it on here. i just copy conversion label and put it on here: conversion level. so what is our conversion value? if your website is e-commerce and you already enable data layer, then you can select conversion value. so now select plus data layer variable. this is our g4 revenue. i select this revenue. what is our transaction id? i just select plus and we already create data layer variable on here. so this is our purchase id or transaction id. so what is currency code? i just select ga4 currency. so this is actually google ads conversion tracking, all field. so if your website did not enable data layout, so you did not get this conversion value, transaction id and current sql, so you will never get all conversion and all conversion value on here. so now i'm set it for triggering. we will set the purchase trigger. so perfect for make sure that for conversion tracking we need a conversion id and conversion label. then we will add our conversion value and conversion transaction id and currency code. then we will select our trigger from e-commerce versus trigger. then i will save this and google ads conversion tracking. so, with conversion tracking, google ads e-commerce versus tracking, save it so we are successfully at google ads purchase tracking on here. then i select back. so so if your tag manager and your website is working, then it should be work on here and you will get your conversion value and all conversion. then start will be verified and you will get all data from your website. so you will get this type of data. that is all conversion and here is our call version value and we can select the date- custom date- september 1 to september 13- then apply. then it will change the all conversion value on here. so hope you enjoy this video. feel free to like this video and subscribe my channel for more upcoming videos and i promise you you will never be disappointed. see you on my next video. How To Install Google Ads Conversion Tracking with Transaction Variables On Wordpress/WooComm Site
so the goal is: you want to track dynamic or variable conversion values on your website. um, people check out and purchase an item. those values are different. some of your items are a few dollars, a few hundred dollars, whatever it is. you want to be able to track accurately the amount of money your google ads campaigns are generating. um, so to do that, the first step is log into your google ads account, tools and settings, uh, go to conversions. you'll end up on this screen: click new conversion action. i'll just jump through it real quick. website: um, you can scan this website thing if you want. um, sorry, let me, but we just need to set up a purchase conversion tag here. so we'll walk through that in a second. so you can do it this way. if you want, i'm going to show you the the other way. we're going to add conversion action manually: purchase, name it, however you want. use different conversion value for each one. enter a generic value here: 10 bucks, whatever it is. you want to count every one because every purchase is important. edit these however you see fit. your attribution model: view through window. engage, view conversion window. all the different conversion windows. click done. i've already done this, so i will show you and then you're going to have this. it'll probably say unverified until. it will stay unverified until you install it on the website um. so now that's done, this step is done. you need to jump into your wordpress site, go to plugins, add new. and this is the plugin that you want: pixel manager for woocommerce. i'll put a link to it in the comments below. it's the easiest one i've found to quickly set up dynamic conversion value tracking and you can also select either the order total or the subtotal um. subtotal meaning no taxes or shipping are included. that's what i usually like to go for, because it kind of gives you a better picture of um. you know, hey, we spent a thousand bucks and we made three thousand bucks, and i know that shipping and taxes aren't included in that figure, so it's just a cleaner number. so that's what i prefer. once this pixel is installed, it'll be here under wordpress or under woocommerce: pixelmanager. you're going to click on that and you're going to want to copy and paste these numbers here. where do you find those? they're right here. tag setup: i just click on use google tag manager. we're not using google tag manager, but this gives us the information that we need. so copy conversion id, paste it in there. copy the purchase label, paste it in there. that's the second one here, okay, and then go into advanced and this is where you're going to tell it whether you want to track the subtotal or the order total. right click, save changes. everything should be done now let me set this up. we'll do a test conversion and show you how it works. so go to your website. i always log out of wordpress, um, before i do this. so it's just like. the interface is just like that of somebody visiting it, um, and then just find a cheap item. you're gonna do a real purchase on it, um. so, whatever it is, whatever your cheapest thing is to do, you're also going to want, when you're doing this, to make sure that you have google tag assistant, because that's going to show you. so it's showing you, um, the global site tag which is the ours is the three, two, eight. again, you know, you just take the last couple of numbers there- three, two, eight- and then it's counting uh, a page view or something here as well. once we get to that thank you page, i think you conversion page. we'll check this one out again. so let's check out and i'll put all this in and be right back. once you have all your information put in there- your name and whatever credit card number- you're gonna click place order and then that's going to take you. obviously that'll take us to the that confirmation page, which is what we're going to check. i'll be right back. so now we're on that um confirmation page. the order has been received. this is an order it's telling us here. so we're going to look and make sure that the subtotal this site doesn't charge shipping. but we're going to. if it did, you know the subtotal will be 13101 and it would be like shipping taxes total would be something else. but in any case, we were targeting the subtotal amount 13101. so we go into our google tag assistant here. this is likely the just a page view. that's the page view conversion that we set up because every page view is counted. but we do have a second one, as you can see here: google ads conversion tracking. if you click on that, we can see that the value it's passing through is 130, 101, which is correct. us dollars conversion label ends in fqo. conversion label ends in fqo. so that conversion tag is set up that will pass through the variable transaction values from your website to google for purchases that are attributed to your google ads search shopping performance max campaigns. um, so it's as easy as that. again, the link to this plug-in i'll put in the video description below. um, if you have any questions, throw them in the comments. i try my best to answer them all. thank you.
