Etsy VS Shopify | Where to Launch Your Shop in 2023
so i've watched a ton of videos when i was starting out about whether or not i should use etsy or shopify. but a lot of the videos that i watched they were sponsored by shopify and i know as much as they say that it is completely unbiased, it's completely honest. you can't help but feel like there's a little bit of being biased towards the one that's sponsoring you. so in today's video i want to guarantee you guys that because we're such a small channel that no one knows who we are, we are not sponsored by anyone. so you know that this video is 100, my honest opinion. hey guys, welcome back to my channel. for those of you guys who are new here, my name is natalie and i run a stationery shop called doodles and tea. in today's video i'm gonna share with you guys my pros and cons of both etsy and shopify. at this point i have run my shop on both etsy and shopify and currently i actually have my store on both. so i will be sharing with you guys kind of the pros and cons that i think come with both platforms. so if you guys are curious about whether or not you should use etsy or shopify for your shop, then remember to click the like button for this video because it will help me out a lot and to subscribe to this channel for more content like this in the future. and with that let's get started. so let's tok about the pros for etsy first. one of the biggest pros for etsy is that etsy is such a well-known site already. there's already tons of people who are going to etsy to shop because there's so much traffic already going to etsy. all you have to do is get that traffic to your shop. getting people to your shop is a completely different subject that we will not touch upon on this video, but if you guys want me to make a video about that, leave it in the comments. but the main takeaway is there's already a lot of very dedicated shoppers on etsy and the chance of them running into your shop is much higher. another thing is that it is absolutely free to open your store on etsy- although etsy has a lot of other fees that we'll tok about later, but for the most part, opening your shop completely free and there are no monthly fees as well. another bonus is that etsy is quite user friendly. it's quite easy to learn how to set up your shop, listings, shipping and all of that. it's quite easy, although i do want to say that setting up things like shipping is different from calculating your shipping, and i actually have two videos on my channel that tok all about shipping on etsy, which i will leave in the cards and in the description box for you guys to check out. another thing that's really easy to set up are sales and discounts for your shop. so in general, etsy is quite user friendly. now, one of the biggest cons of etsy, and one of the reasons that i left initially, were all of the fees that come with being on etsy. so you've got transaction fees, you've got listing fees, you have shipping fees. so even though when you look on their website, it doesn't seem like they're taking that much, but over time when you start generating more sales, it will add up. i like to say that from your transaction, around 10 of that is actually taken by etsy from all of its fees. one of the biggest things to note is the listing fee. now it seems pretty straightforward: every time you post a listing, etsy will charge you 20 cents usd, but what they don't tell you is that every time someone buys an item, your listing actually renews and through that that's another 20 cents. i heard someone say this once and basically etsy is like a marketplace where you're going to pay to set up a booth. that's why you have to pay etsy so much money, because they're already driving the traffic in, but you're just paying for your shops set up and with that. another thing to note is that there are already a lot of shops on etsy. unless you have a very small or very narrow down niche, it might be very difficult to stand out. and another thing i want to point out is that there's no customization at all for etsy. everyone's shop looks the same for the most part. besides your banner pick and your profile pic, the layout for everyone's shop looks the same. now let's move on to shopify. now. one of the pros of shopify that i really liked was the customization. you get the freedom to make your store look like however you want, and it looks like a legitimate website shop. another thing with shopify is that you can download a lot of other apps to help with running your store. you can also get your own custom domain if you already have one. if not, you can go purchase one and set it up with your shop, so you get your own name for your own shop. another good thing about shopify is that there are lesser fees. there are no listing fees like etsy, so if you are a shop that sells a lot of different items, this is really good. there are only two fees that shopify takes, which is a monthly fee- that i'll tok about later- and they take a small portion of each transaction if people pay using shopify payments. shopify payments is basically their way, i think, of hosting all people who pay with, like debit cards and credit cards. it's just to ensure that they're not frauds. i believe someone said that they take around three percent of your transaction plus 30 cents, which, compared to etsy, is significantly less. now, the cons about shopify is that you have to drive your own traffic. you are now a standalone shop and you have to bring all these people to find your shop. so, unless you have a huge following or a dedicated group of people who are your right or die, this might be a bit difficult for someone who's just starting out. another thing is that shopify has a monthly fee cost and there are three levels. so, depending on how much you want to spend and how many extra functions you want on your site, the lowest price was, i believe 29 usd per month. so again, for new shops who haven't been able to drive so much traffic to their store, this might be a bit difficult for you to keep up with in the beginning. now for me personally. i left etsy around may or june this year after running the store there for five or six months, and that was because shopify was doing a discount. so i hopped on the shopify bandwagon and what i learned was that, yes, the fees were a lot less, but i was having issue trying to drive traffic to shopify. it was significantly less than how much i was getting on etsy. so i decided to go back on etsy and now i run stores on both. it's the exact same shop- it's still doodles and tea- but my store on etsy has the fees a bit higher just to cover for all of etsy's fees. but i can drive all the traffic from people who see my listings on etsy to shopify. in every single one of my listings on etsy it also has a link to my shopify store and my instagram, and those are the places where i connect with people the most. so i have everyone directed there in hopes to drive the traffic from etsy to my standalone shop. so far it's been doing pretty well when i run both. the only con really for this is that you will have to spend a lot more time trying to manage both and upload listings to both. and that's about it for my personal experience with both etsy and shopify. i hope you guys found this helpful. again, a lot of this really goes down to what you want and what your How To Crush Your Online Art Store! ( Etsy Storenvy Shopify etc.)
lately, I've been working really hard to spruce up my online store and I got it to the point where I'm pretty happy with it. so I wanted to share with you some of the things that I've learned to maybe help you guys out, because some of you guys- not everyone, but a few you guys- could really use the help. let's welcome back to the undergrad laboratory, where we create robots, alien zombies and other imminent threats- humanity- and sometimes we take those things and we make prints out of them, make t-shirts out of them or whatever, and then we throw them up on our online store and then you know, people buy it like crazy. it doesn't always work like actually and it's a little harder than just throwing them up on your online store. there's a lot of things you need to take into consideration, but that's ok because I'm gonna share with you some things that I've learned that can help you guys out. so, without any further ado, let's get to it. when setting up an online store, presentation is everything you need to make a good impression. you want your store to look good. think of an online store the same way you would like a brick-and-mortar store. have you ever gone to a grocery or a big-box store and you're going through the parking lot and the you see the sign up front it's kind of flickering or maybe some of the letters aren't lighting up or whatever. and then you you walk up to the door and maybe it's not opening for you or you get in and it's kind of dirty, the the you know the shelves aren't adequately stoked. you know it's just not very clean. you can't really find what you're looking for. items are in the wrong place. maybe you leave before you even get to the door, or maybe you figured: well, I'm already here, maybe I don't go look around, get what I need and and leave. chances are you're probably not gonna come back, even if you go in there in the first place. so you know, an online store really isn't that different. first and foremost, you need to concentrate on your brand. I'm showing some visuals of my Etsy store. I've got a couple different stores. my Etsy store it's got a nice big ban or everything which I really like, but anyway. so these are the things you need to think of. you know how's your banner you got? you got a nice profile pic. have you filled out your about page, your bio, all that stuff. you know what's your story, for instance. so with my, you know, I've got on my banner, I've got the name on my shop- search works, art labs- and then you know kind of the tagline, the science of geek ology. so you know, tells you that kind of self beauty type science stuff, and then mad science supply company. that's what it is. you know, this is its, that's the theme of this shop. and you know, down below you get Cirque's ecologists and mad science supply specialists. that's in the type, so that's searchable and everything. I've got a profile pic of myself. I've also got my logo on there. so I'm trying to, I'm really trying- to take advantage of every opportunity that whatever platform I'm using gives me, whether it's storing the or if you're Shopify or whatever. whenever they allow you to do, take advantage of that. fill it out, even like Etsy allows you to. you know, load pictures of your shop so you go in there you can see. you know different pictures of my shop. you know me working on, you know my products, just different things. all this stuff helps. and even they allow you to upload a video that kind of it's almost like a. you know, I've you ever seen like a Kickstarter video you tok about your project. well, this is just toking about my store and you know, not everyone's gonna click on that. you kind of have to go a little deep. but, like I said, I really think it's important in the beginning. just put in a little extra time, because once that's done, you've got it once. just once it's done, you know it's there, you can go back and change it if you want, but you have something there every where someone would look. so it's. you're just giving every single opportunity you can for somebody to to say: oh man, this is a cool store. I like Yummie. basically everything's there. I really don't have any questions. I can see what you're all about. I know, I know what I'm gonna come to expect with the store and hopefully the quality of projects or products, rather than I'm getting in everything. so, really, you know, take advantage anything you possibly can that they allow you to do and will get them to do this more as we go with some of these other things. but right now, really the first thing you want to concentrate is that branding. what are you about as a company? just hey, I'm so-and-so, I sell art. there's got to be more to it. there's got to be a story there. you know, really, you know this is, this is super important. so branding, you know, up your branding game, second only to branding our photographs and some people, you know they may even be more important, actually. but with an online store, your customers don't really have the ability to, you know, pick up your items and flip them around and look at them and read what's on the back, what's included, all this kind of stuff. so you need to, you need to give a little extra in order for them to have as close to that experience as you possibly can. most artist shops I see they basically just got scanned images of the prints or, you know, or a screen shot or whatever up there. but I think you need to go a little further with that. if you happen to be a big name artists, you could probably you maybe you can get away with that. I'm not. so what I have to do is I really try to focus on staging my products and making them, putting them in the best light as possible, and I am NOT a photographer, I am a novice, but you know I know how to Google. so you know I do as much research as I can and I try to do the best with what I've got and I work my way up to a certain level. you can kind of see him do a little photoshop here and it took me a little while to get here. I am still not a photographer but you know I've got Photoshop. I can edit things and post and do that kind of stuff. so I do what I can and I'll share with you some tips and things that I've learned, and these are. these are pretty basic, but I think if you're a novice, kind of like me, these this will help you out. so one thing you want to do is use simple backgrounds. so a lot of people say just just straight white. sometimes I try to view that, sometimes I kind of steer away from that. sometimes I'll use very basic, non-conflicting- you know textures and things like that. in certain instances. maybe you have a product that has a lot of white in it. it's not going to look good against a white background. so you do discretion. but as a general rule you want to use lighter backgrounds, something that's not going to track from your product or something that's gonna make that that pop up, pop out rather in the beginning. you don't have to invest in it like a fancy lighting setup and everything, or even a fancy, fancy camera, I mean you can use your, you can use your phone and, with some decent lighting, just natural light. you don't want direct sunlight, you kind of- or you know, I've kind of gotten the overcast day, that works really good. or if you just buy a window, if you can kind of set up my window where there's some natural light coming in, if you don't have that opportunity to do that, you can use, you know, use whatever light fixtures you have. but you want to switch out to daylight lights, not soft white, soft white, usually it's. it's a soft white, but it's kind of. usually they have a little bit of a yellow tip, whereas the daylight it's a little bluish. it's a little more natural and they're a little hard to find. you just got to look for them. most stores do carrying daylight lights and basically because I do a lot of YouTube stuff, I went through and most of the lights in my house I've switched out to daylight because it just shows without better on camera. but when I first started off I was just using like a gooseneck lamp that you can get at Target and you kind of want to diffuse the light, which you can do, as simply they have diffus.

Artists: STOP Selling on Etsy, Do THIS Instead
hey guys, welcome back to my channel. in this video, i wanted to share with you guys kind of why i am against artists selling on etsy, especially now in 2022, and i kind of wanted to share with you guys what i think would be a better route as an artist trying to get their art on there and get in front of your audience that is going to buy your paintings. so you might be wondering who i am and how do i know that etsy isn't the best path for artists. well, my husband is color by felix. i don't know if you've heard of him, but he's an artist online and we actually have had experience with selling our paintings and original work on etsy. and now, as time goes on, i just see that a lot of artists they start on etsy and then it is very hard to get in front of the right people that are gonna buy their art or they're competing with a lot of other artists to get that sale and in order to get the sale, they might have to lower their prices, which is one of the reasons why i don't suggest etsy for artists looking to sell their art online. sure, if you are already established on there, you're getting a great amount of sales, then that is fine for you, but i still would even recommend getting your own website at that point too. all of the advice that i'm giving is just because, when you think about etsy, etsy is a business and they are making revenue based on artists relying on them and their audience. it's basically the same kind of arrangement that it would be as a gallery representing an artist, so there's nothing against that. if you are in a gallery or if you're on etsy and it's working for you, then that's great. but i think that, as time goes on, it is now more possible than ever for artists to work directly with their clients and you no longer need middlemen like etsy or galleries. if you want to work with them, that is an option, but it's not the only route now, and that is why i don't suggest artists sell on etsy. as you can see, i am not an artist myself, but working with my husband, who is an artist, for the last five years to grow our art business online, we have learned just how possible it is for artists to now work directly with their clients, and i just notiked that artists are always so quick to give up that part of their business to someone else who is going to take a huge percentage and just for a little bit more time and effort invested into learning these things like the business side. online marketing and how to get in front of your audience is going to make such a big difference in your business, and it's also going to help you keep more of the profit that comes from your hard work. i'm going to share with you guys exactly what i do suggest instead of etsy, and that begins with starting to grow your own social media presence and your own audience. that's the first step, because, really, what is it that etsy has that you don't have? and that is the visibility. so what etsy has to offer artists is visibility in front of people that are going to buy their art, but what artists are doing now is that they are able to remain independent, price their own work and basically call the shots in their business because they are bringing their customers and their eyeballs to their social media platforms. if you are an artist who has your own platform and calls their own shots in your business, that is already such a step in the right direction, and if you're already starting to focus on learning about online marketing and social media, that's gonna really help your business in the future, because when people come along and try to take advantage of you or your art, you're gonna know how to protect yourself and your art, and you're also gonna be able to say no to these people that are only trying to take advantage of you and take the majority of the money that you are making. since we have had experience in both selling on etsy and our own website and growing our social media platforms to millions of people around the world, my husband and i created a free ebook for artists who need help or a mentor, some advice maybe. we've created a free ebook that i will link down below and that just gives advice that we have learned over the last five years from growing our social media, working with brands, deals, selling paintings, all of these things- and we give a lot of helpful advice. if you haven't checked it out, be sure to download it below. these are all pieces of advice that we were really looking for five years ago, when we were getting started, and so i really think that it will help you, as an artist, to take a look at it and be able to see the path that we took, so that it can be much easier for you. as i said in the beginning of our art business journey, we did have an etsy account. now that we've realized that etsy is working effectively as a middle and taking a percentage, when we can have our own website and direct our own traffic that knows our name to our website, and people are going to be a lot more likely to purchase from you if they already know you, and so that's the benefit of getting started on social media and pointing your customers and your followers, who already know you and are excited about your art, to your website. so that's how you're gonna get traffic to your website, because i know a lot of people always wonder: well, how do i get traffic to my website? it starts with growing your social media. there's so many different options for social media platforms to get started on and you can start on different ones, so there's obviously going to be platforms that are more saturated, but i have a lot of free tutorials and lessons on my channel teaching you exactly how to grow on the different platforms, so be sure to check those out. as i said, there's nothing wrong with getting started on etsy. i just wouldn't stay there. i think it's really important to migrate to your own website and a couple of the main reasons why i don't recommend etsy for artists is just because. number one, they're taking a percentage of your sales and you have to pay to list your items. number two, which i think is one of the most important reasons why you shouldn't be selling on etsy, is that they don't have a focus on you being able to contact your customers other than through their own platforms. you need to be able to collect your customers information and since they recommend staying on their platform with the customer communication, that just kind of shows you that they don't want you to be able to go off of the platform and communicate with your customers directly, because they want you to stay on their platform and help them grow their platform. reason number three why i don't recommend etsy is just because i've heard that as time goes on- and i've experienced with felix that as time goes on, you they're getting more and more artists on their platform and it is becoming a lot more difficult to stand out on etsy, especially if you don't already have an audience. but if you do have an audience, why would you be directing your audience to etsy's platform and giving them more customers when you could be directing your audience that you've worked hard to build to your own platform and keep that in your own business network. so that's my reason. number three is that it's getting more competitive on etsy. it's harder to stand out and because of that you're gonna have to be. basically, your competition is other artists that are painting in a similar way. so how do you compete with other artists? i guess the only way is by price, and i don't really think that that's fair at. as an artist, i think that you shouldn't have to compromise on your price. someone should be buying your pieces because it's something that they really love and it never really feels good to have to just like lower and lower your the price of your art just to make a sale. reason number four for why i don't think that you should be selling on etsy is because now that platform is becoming a lot more competitive with other artists, it causes you to have to spend money on ads on their platform and they definitely push.

hey guys, welcome to online moneyball. so today it's another video on how to earn money by selling products online. so if you are looking out for a free option or free alternative to etsy, um or shopify, this is a great choice. so here i'm going to walk you through the process: start up an online store and get money falling in. so yeah, let's start off with the video now. this is the website, guys. this is storenvycom. here. it is very similar to etsy, uh. you can earn money in this website, uh, with two ways. one is um, selling your products in marketplace. as you can see, there are so many products listed in this home page. so if you want your products to be listed here in the home page, or at least reach on top first three products in the search list, then you should get a lot of viewers to your products or listing, and also engagement. a lot of engagement is required in order to get on top of it, because this is working really, you know, very similar to the social media platforms. so if you want to open a store, click on open the store icon that you can see. i will leave the link in the description box below, guys. if you want, you can click on it and start a store right now. now, here, this is the page where it will be leading you to create a store. so this is completely free, guys. there is no subscription fees. there is nothing in uptrend, it's actually free. you can upload up to 1000 listings or 1000 products. you can upload here for free. after that, you might be um, have a have an option to upgrade your plan because, upgrading it, you can upload unlimited products. now, this is the way, guys. you are going to upload your product. it you can choose either uh marketplace or your own store, um, or both. it's up to you- and then people have to see it and they have to buy. now, here, it is not going to be like etsy. they are no one to promote your products. only you have to promote it by sharing it to your social media handles and other places where people can see and start buying it. so that's all, guys. um, there is no option caused. um, there will be a transaction fee for every sale that you are going to make here. um, this is actually so easy. uh, there is no professional skills required because it is like drag and drop, easily customizable online store. so, here in this free store. if you have a own domain name, um, you can link it by um- around five dollars. they will charge you five dollars. if you're going to link your own domain, or if you don't want your own domain or if you don't have it, you can use one of the free domains that they are offering, but the free domains has its own uh cons. like the free domain will look like my store dot storenbycom, so the store nv branding will be there in your domain name. so, as you can see, these are the three um subscription plans that they have. i think this is much better, guys, because in hc or shopify i have to pay upfront 29 in shopify and for hc, for each listing, i have to pay 15 rupees or 0.02 dollars. so i think that will sum up to somehow 29 or above. so, as you can see, uh, in the free you can have up to thousand products and there will be cart abandonments, uh, which is like if someone is going to add your product in the cart and they are not going to buy, they will get an email uh reminding them to buy. so that is a great option and that's all, guys. i think that is pretty fine. you will get paid through paypal or stripe. so now to get started off, just click on open a store. you can either choose join with facebook, if you have facebook account, or you can use email address. i will be choosing this email address. i will type my username so if, after filling up all the details and confirming my email address, i will be end up to this page now, before moving on to the second part of this video, try subscribing and clicking the bell notification so that you won't miss any update from our channel. now here this is my dashboard. i have created it with my older name, d schwarzley. i already have this name in my spreadsheetcom store, so i just opted to use it here. you can customize it, guys. you can customize the store, the color of it, font and everything, the way it looks like, the layout of it and everything. you have lots of option. it is really easy: drag and dropping and just moving the cursor. i think you can pretty much manage that. now here this is the dashboard where you can see how much orders you have got, what is the total shipping price. also, you can actually upload it, and so much more. uh, so the orders tab will show you how much orders you have. and you also have another option, which i think that is great. here is: um, you can give your own coupon code. so if you have something like flash sale or some seasonal sales, you can give some coupon codes to your customers, which it will boost your sale. now here you can give shipping charges for each country if you wish, or you can give some standard shipping charges. so here you can do that, customizing it. so here they have given some standard shipping charges, but you can customize according to the delivery partner that you are choosing. so that's all about the shipping. uh, here it is storefront. this storefront is where you create your own store and that is acting something like your own personal online store, but in free version. you will obviously be going to have that store envy branding everywhere. so that comes with a free version, guys that you cannot exclude it in any of these websites that i have seen. so in product, you will be uploading your products. i have zero products because i opened the store. uh, brand new just now. uh, i will be adding new products after this video might be yeah, so i will also leave the link of this store- my store- in the description box below. if you want, you can have a look at it, like how i have customized it and all. so this is zero orders. it's obviously because i haven't posted any of my products, so i won't get any orders now, uh, but soon i will be posting a lot of products and, as you can see, there is another great option: that you can choose what status the order is like- if it is open, shipped or on hold, pending or cancelled. so you can choose that and select for the orders for the people to get know what status the order is in. so that's all about this order station. um, you can also print the receipt when uh people orders it. you can get everything once the order is confirmed. so next we will move on to marketing tab. as i have already told you, guys, there is an option to give uh this coupon code and everything. so this comes with pleasant pro plan. i'm really sorry, guys. uh, we need plus or some subscription plans in order to avail that um coupon codes, so in free version we won't be able to give coupon codes, um. so for every order that you get through the storefront, uh, i mean your own online store. you have right, that is called a store fund. so from that, if you are going to get orders, you will be charged five percent from the transaction fees, um, for every order. um. if you are going to uh hide it, like you have an option to hide. if you want, you can uh add that extra five percent in your um own order fee, like people won't know that they are actually paying it for uh store envies handling fees, something like that. or you can leave it as it is, which will show as a default store and be handling fee which people will have to pay if they are going to buy your product. so that's all about the video, guys. if Shopify is one of the most popular ecommerce platforms out there. Its main attraction is that it's one of the simplest platforms to use while still being customizable. Shopify comes with a subscription that starts at $29 a month, and they have different credit card rates for each plan. The good news is they offer a 14-day free trial. Printful's integration with Shopify is one of our most automated integrations available that's quick and easy to set up. Etsy isn’t a platform like Shopify, where you have a standalone store. It’s a marketplace. Marketplaces let you add your product to their website that already has a following. This gives you extra exposure, but you have to compete with other sellers. It’s a great choice if you already have an online store and want to sell on another channel, or if you just want to sell on a marketplace. Etsy is easy to use and it's quick to get started. 40 million buyers shop on Etsy worldwide, so you can reach a bigger audience and find new customers. There are no monthly fees for using Etsy, but there is a 5% fee on all transactions and shipping, and it costs $0.20 to publish products, which have to be renewed every 4 months. It also has rules for its sellers and limited customization options on how your store looks. Printful's integration with Etsy doesn’t offer live shipping rates, so you’ll need to set them up manually, But it's still easy to set up and add products. So should you use this platform? We find that Etsy is best for sellers that are looking for already established marketplaces to sell on and don’t mind the limitations on customization Amazon. Amazon is trusted by millions of shoppers and is one of the most popular online marketplaces out there And, just like Etsy, it's a great choice if you already have an online store and want to sell on another channel, or if you want to sell on Amazon exclusively. By using Amazon, you'll be selling on a respected, established platform with global marketplaces. but we believe there are some downsides. Amazon has a rather complicated setup and strict seller rules, like what kind of product photos you can add, how fast you need to ship out your products and more, And it takes a bit of effort not just to set it up but also to keep it going. To sell on Amazon with Printful, you’ll need a professional Seller account, which comes with a subscription of $39.99/month and fees up to 15% for each sale. Connecting Printful and Amazon is more complicated than any of our other integrations. Live shipping rates aren't available, so you’ll have to set them up manually, But you can automatikally add your products through our product push generator, and we have a step-by-step guide to make setting up easier. So should you go with Amazon? Yes, if you want to take advantage of selling on one of the world's most popular and trusted marketplaces and you have the time to learn and follow Amazon’s rules. Next up— Squarespace. Squarespace is a widely popular design-oriented platform known for simple, minimal and fully responsive website themes. Squarespace lets you use their wide range of themes to create visually appealing stores. They offer a lot of marketing tools for trackable ads, email campaigns, 24/7 customer support and more. Printful's integration with Squarespace isn't difficult, but takes a bit of work to set up. There are no live shipping rates, so you’ll have to set them up manually. There’s no product push available either, which means you’ll need to create your products on Squarespace and then sync them with Printful. Our final word on Squarespace: If you want to create a memorable, visually appealing online store and you aren't afraid of manually setting up the integration, this is the platform for you. eBay. With over 167 million monthly visitors, eBay is one of the few industry leaders with more than 20 years of experience in ecommerce. eBay is ideal for those who already have a store and are looking for another selling channel. But, like Amazon, it has a complicated setup and strict seller rules, And it takes a bit of effort to set it up and maintain it. Creating an account on eBay is free and they don't charge subscription fees, but they charge 10% of every sale made on their platform, as well as a $0.35 listing fee. Connecting to eBay is very complicated and new users have limitations on product variants they can publish as well as overall product value they can offer. You should consider eBay only if you’re serious about gaining access to a larger audience and are ready to invest time in it. Next in line—WooCommerce. WooCommerce is a plugin for WordPress, a popular and reputable content management system. Unlike the other platforms we toked about, WooCommerce doesn't provide hosting. It's totally customizable, so you can set it up however you like, but you'll need some tik skills to do it. Aside from your hosting expenses, using WooCommerce is free. Printful’s integration with WooCommerce is automated—there are live shipping rates available and you can add products through our product generator. There's a lot you can customize, so setup might take a while. however, it's not as complicated as our other integrations. So what about WooCommerce for your store? If you’re looking for a free, popular and fully customizable platform that’s based on a trusted content management system, WooCommerce is your best bet, especially if you already use WordPress. Just keep in mind that it's rather tiknical and you'll need some time to set up your own hosting. Storenvy: Storenvy is a ready-made marketplace with a focus on social sharing. It provides a marketplace as well as an option to create your own personal store. It's easy to use and free, But your store will be under Storenvy's default theme and a designated domain, so there's less room for customization. While Storenvy is free, you'll be charged 15% commission fees on marketplace sales.
