What's up guys, Jordan here! Today we're going to be going through TikTok ads, step by step, the A to Z everything you need to know to launch your first ad on the platform today. Now, we're currently using TikTok in our marketing agency, The Affluent Agency, and we're generating a ridiculous amount of new revenue for our clients at the moment using the platform. I cannot wait to bring this to you guys today. It's been a long time coming. I've got a presentation ready for you. We're going to jump onto it in a second, but before we do, I want to announce a quick competition on this video. Okay, so TikTok ads training. First of all, let's start off with some data. We need to understand the opportunity here. Now, TikTok was the most downloaded app in 2020 with 850 million downloads. Okay, TikTok has 1.1 billion active users worldwide, with 90% of users using the app multiple times per day. So, we can get ourselves in front of our ideal customer multiple times a day, on average. Now, as of January 2021, TikTok raked in 128 million in user spending, marking an increase of 380% from its January 2020 revenue. So, it's growing year on year, almost 4x in user revenue. Now, TikTok ranks as the second biggest app in consumer spend, above YouTube, Disney Plus, and Netflix. This is probably the biggest stat on this screen. Ranking above YouTube and Netflix in consumer spend is absolutely ridiculous. So, it's a monumental opportunity for people and businesses to sell their products on the platform. How many times have you spoken to someone, they've said, Ah, I found that product on TikTok. It's happening a lot these days. So, let's jump onto how you can actually make the most of that.

So, this is the TikTok ad structure. At the top, we have TikTok's ad manager. Then, we have ad campaigns, ad groups, ad creative, and landing pages. Let's break these down one by one. TikTok's ad manager is where you manage your TikTok advertising account, similar to the Facebook ad manager. An ad campaign is the foundation of your ad. So, we're setting up our advertising objectives and formats. We then have ad groups, which target audiences, ad placements, budget, and bidding. Then, we have ad creative, which is the text and the video that will appear on our ads. Finally, our landing page. This is the destination URL that we are driving our potential customers to. This is the place where they will actually buy our products or service.

So, when you actually have your TikTok ad account up and running, this is kind of what the format will look like. We have our ad manager at the top, we have campaigns beneath that. Then, inside an ad campaign, we would have multiple ad groups. So, we'll be testing out multiple audiences, and inside those audiences, we may even be testing out multiple different ad creatives as well.

So, what are the actual creative formats that we can use on TikTok? Well, we have Top View on the left-hand side here, which is like a full-size video that shows up when we launch the app. We also have Brand Takeover. Now, these are the most expensive TikTok ads, and very large brands use these. They come up right at the start of launching the app and take over the entire screen. Then, we have In-Feed Ads. This is what we're going to be going through today and what most businesses are actually using to generate the most revenue from TikTok. We also have Branded Hashtag Challenges. So, if we want to launch a challenge on the platform. Finally, Branded Events. If we want to have our own branded stickers on TikTok itself, so people can use them when they're creating their own content. But, as I said, In-Feed Ads is the ad format we use for our TikTok ad clients at The Affluent Agency, and we're literally generating hundreds of thousands in new revenue from In-Feed Ads alone. So, that's what I'm going to show you today.

So, without further ado, let's jump straight on to the TikTok advertising platform. Okay, so the first thing we're going to do is go over to tiktok.com/business. I'm just going to zoom in here so you can see everything on the screen, and we're then going to go ahead and create a new account. If we click Create, now I'm actually logged in on one of our employees', our ad specialist Tom's account at the moment. So, I already have an account, but you're just going to go through a really, really simple account creation process where we put in your business name, and you'll be prompted to set up a Business Center account. Once you've done that, you're going to be sent straight through to the Business Center, and I'm just going to show you a few crucial things on here.

The first thing is you may or may not be prompted to create an ad account when you first create your account. So, the first thing we need to do is actually create an ad account. We go down on the left-hand side here on our navigation bar, and we click Add Accounts. What we need to do is hit Add, Add Account, and then we can create our own or first ad account that we're going to start advertising on. Remember, this is the place where all of our ads will be hosted, so we want to have an ad account for every business we are advertising for. So, if you're a marketing agency, you want a different ad account for every separate business that you work with.

The next thing I want to show you on here is Members. So, if you have team members within your company, you can invite them here by hitting Invite Member. You can add them as an admin or standard, and then you can go through typing in their email address and adding them to your Business Manager so they can log into their TikTok Business Center and have access to everything that you do on your rent.

Once we're on the Business Center and we have an ad account set up, we need to go over to that ad account. So, we click this button here, Open in TikTok's Ad Manager. We're going to be brought straight through to an individual ad account. The first thing we see is the dashboard. I'll come back to this later on. This is where we can review all of the data on this ad account. The campaign, the genders that are reacting to our ads, the amount we're spending, and how much money we're making, of course. But the first thing we're actually going to do before we create our first TikTok ad is go over to Assets and then Event.

What we need to do when we are advertising on any platform is make sure we have a pixel code or a tracking code set up. Now, for those of you that don't know or haven't advertised before and don't know what a pixel is, a pixel is a simple code that goes into the header of your or your client's website, and it allows us to track what our potential customers are actually doing on our website. And in this instance, we really want to track when they have converted, so when they have purchased one of our products, if we're advertising for an e-commerce-based business, for example. So, we're going to choose a website pixel, and we're going to hit Manage, and we're then going to create a pixel. We're going to name this pixel. Let's just say this is Affluent Co. This is just a test ad account I've created here. We can either manually install this pixel code or we can install the code by a third-party tool. If we're using a website like Shopify or Google Tag Manager is installed on the website, then we can install the pixel code with relative ease just by clicking one of these options. But for any of you that are installing this manually, and it's good to learn how to do this manually, just click this, hit Next, and we're going to use Standard Mode. Today we're going to cover everything TikTok ads. We're going to go into Shopify, link our store, and make sure the pixel is set up properly. Lots of people are getting heaps of success with TikTok ads, so it might be perfect for your brand. This video is perfect for beginners, so we're not going to skip any steps. We'll also go into some advanced things around content because that is so important to make sure that TikTok ads work.

First, set up your Shopify store. If you haven't set it up yet, just pause the video and click the link in my bio to set it up now. Once you're in Shopify, go into apps and download the official TikTok app. Click add sales channel to bring up the TikTok section on the left-hand side of your Shopify store.

Next, set up the pixel. Connect TikTok for business and create a new TikTok account if you don't have one already. Once you've created the account, click connect and create a new ad account. Select the country and currency you want to target, change the business name, and click sign up and connect. Choose enhanced or maximum data sharing and click confirm. Enter your final details, connect automatic payment, and click confirm.

To create TikTok ads, go to the TikTok ads manager. Make sure your pixel is set up properly by using the TikTok pixel helper chrome extension. Now you can create your first campaign. Start with the campaign objective, such as conversions for e-commerce businesses. Name your campaign and choose any additional options like split testing or campaign budget optimization.

Name your ad group and select the website button. Make sure your TikTok pixel is firing on your website. Choose your optimization events, such as add to cart or purchase. It's recommended to use purchase as the optimization event to get more data and insights.

Last year, 74% of marketers and businesses had no plans to invest in TikTok ads, according to a social media marketing industry report. So you're already two steps ahead of your competition watching this tutorial. We'll be going over five things today:

Let's start with why you should use TikTok ads. Arguably, one of the biggest reasons is because it's currently a relevant platform in the world of social media marketing. After setting up your account, you'll be directed to the campaign creation dashboard. But before creating your first campaign, you need to set up your TikTok pixel.

Go to the assets tab and click on events. Create your pixel, name it, and choose whether to install it manually or via a third-party tool. Copy the pixel code and add it to your website's header tag. Set up conversion events based on your business type, such as e-commerce events. Make sure everything is firing correctly before moving on.

Once your pixel is set up, you can start creating your TikTok ads campaign. Choose the website conversions option and set your campaign details. Set up your ad group, targeting, budget, and bidding strategy.

How to create Tiktok Ads Manager and Business Center

Hello and welcome to my channel, Take Your Social Media Marketing Pills. I hope you enjoy the video and learn something new and useful. Before we start, I would really appreciate it if you could follow my channel and like the video.

In this video, we're going to talk about how to create a TikTok ad account and business center. Then, we'll see how to set up the TikTok account and the business center. Finally, we'll learn how to add and manage TikTok accounts and permissions for your staff inside the business center.

So let's get started!

First, visit the link at tiktokmusic.com. On this page, click on Get Started in the top right corner. Choose your email address or phone number to sign up for TikTok for Business.

Next, enter your email address and choose a password. Confirm the password and click on Send Code to receive a verification code via email. Drag the slider to fit the puzzle and click Verify.

Now, check your email for the verification code and enter it in the box. Click on TikTok's terms and conditions and privacy policy, and then click Sign Up.

This is the first setup of our TikTok ad account. Choose your country/region, industry, business name, and time zone. Enter your phone number and choose your currency. Click on the platform payment terms and advertising guidelines, and then click Register.

Next, we need to verify our phone number. Click on Send Code to receive an SMS with a code. Enter the code in the box and click Verify.

Once you've completed these steps, you have created your TikTok Ads Manager and TikTok account. Now, let's set it up.

You'll see information regarding iOS 14's new policy that may affect your ads. We'll discuss this in more detail in another video.

To set up your business center, click on the logo in the top right corner and go to Account Info. Here, you'll find the full setup for your account, including your website link, address, and payment method.

Submit the information, and your account will be under review. You can check the account setup status in the left column. Once it says Good to go, your account is ready to create ads.

Now, let's talk about the business center and how to set it up. Click on the logo in the top right corner and go to the business center section. Here, you can create a new business center.

Enter the name of your business center and select your time zone. Once you've created the business center, you can add other accounts and manage permissions for your staff.

To add staff members, click on Invite Member and enter their email address. Choose the access settings, such as admin access or standard access, and click Next. The staff member will receive an invitation by email to access the business center.

To give visibility to the TikTok ad account, you'll need to do another step. In the Other Account section, add the TikTok ad account by copying and pasting the last number of the link. You can request access or transfer the ad account.

There are other sections in the business center, such as the partner section and the audience section. You can manage partnerships, share audiences, and access the activity log and business settings.
