How To Move To Shopify From ANY Ecommerce Site IN MINUTES! 🔥

so are you thinking about switching over to shopify? well, in this video, i'm going to show you guys how you can transfer your entire store, all your products, customers, orders, everything from any e-commerce platform over to shopify within minutes. let's get it so over here, rich from anywhere. we have been doing e-commerce for many, many years and we have a lot of e-commerce businesses that come to us looking for marketing help, and a lot of them are struggling with their current website builders. they use wix or wordpress or whatever it might be. a lot of them have issues. we recommend shopify all the time. we've been using them for years. there's a reason why they're the biggest and they're the baddest: because they're the best and they want to move over to shopify, but they're a little hesitant because they think it's going to take forever and it's going to be super expensive. this video is going to save you guys weeks and weeks of headache and probably hundreds, if not man, let me go ahead and share my screen and let me show you, guys, how to move over to shopify. all right, guys, so the name of this app is called lit extension. you're gonna love this. all right, you can click the link in the description of this video. it'll take you right there, and when you get to the home page, you're going to see this right here. right now. i want to show you this really quickly. look, when you hit from, you're going to see all these options. you can literally transfer from any store, right? you got big cartel, big commerce, if you got. if you guys are wix, you got wix. you got, uh, woocommerce- you got woocommerce. you got all these different ones, right? so what you're gonna do is just choose your platform. let's just say you're coming from big commerce and then you're gonna switch to shopify. so what you'll need to do is you'll actually need to log in. so if you don't have an account already, you'll just need to create one, and you can actually do that by just clicking sign up right here and then just go ahead and put in an email name, password, or you can just create an account from facebook or google. so go ahead and sign up and then, as soon as you sign up, it's going to take you into your account where you'll actually start the process. so in this video, the example i'm going to use is actually going to be transferring a godaddy store onto shopify. all right, so let's go ahead and select godaddy right here and then, once we have that going to shopify, we're good, so we're going to go ahead and log into our account. now, once you're logged in, you have an account and everything. what you're going to start doing is you're going to select the source cart type and you're going to actually put in godaddy. and then what you'll do in the source cart url- now this is actually going to be the link that when you're inside of your godaddy account, the link that's in your web browser when you're actually editing the dashboard, that's going to be the link that you're going to put in there. and then you'll go ahead and put in your username and your password and then, on the bottom, where it says target cart setup, that's where you're going to put in shopify and you're going to actually put in your myshopifycom link right here. so just a quick note: you will have to have a shopify store already created in order to start this process. so if you haven't started a shopify store yet, go ahead and go over to shopifycom, create an account and then, once you do, you're going to go into your dashboard, copy the url at the very top and then you're going to go ahead and paste it right here. then you'll go ahead and click configure your migration. now, when you get to the configuration page, this is where you're going to actually select what you want to migrate. okay, so obviously you can select all, and this will select all the products and all the categories that you have inside of your store. with the free version of this, basically, what you're going to be able to do is migrate up to 20 products and 20 categories for free. if you want to migrate more than 20 products, then it's going to be a little bit of a fee, and i'll show you what that is in a minute, but it's really not that bad whatsoever. it's totally worth all the time saving right. so here's the thing. when you come to this- additional options- it says transfer images from categories, product descriptions and everything, and it says that it's an extra charge. but, honestly, every time that i do this, i don't check this and it still transfers all my images and all my product descriptions and everything. so i would just skip that, because it does it anyway for free. but, for instance, let's say that you have a store that has more than 20 products, right, what you'll want to do is you want to click skip free migration and then go ahead and click the orange button right below it. now, when you come to this page, it's actually going to pull how many different products and categories that you have in your store and it's going to give you an estimated price. so for this partikular store, we have 107 total entities that we need to transfer over, and for that amount, it's going to cost us 49 bucks, right, which is not that bad at all. i mean, that is actually amazing when you consider trying to manually migrate 107 products like that would take you probably days, if not weeks, to do that. so what i what i also found is that you can put in a little discount code and you can get five percent off here. so if you go ahead and type in shopify zero five and then hit apply, you'll see that it instantly takes two bucks off as well. so that's a little savings for you, not much, but hey, every little thing counts, you know. so then go ahead and hit: start full migration. and what i've notiked too is that sometimes you can click this and it won't do anything. what i've notiked is that sometimes you have to click it like three or four or five times. then it'll eventually kick in, and when it does, you'll start seeing it's a full migration is running and it'll say that it's currently preparing your migration right now. and if you scroll down here, you can actually see some more details about the migration right. so if you see that it says migration is running in the background and you don't need to keep this browser open until migration completes, it is safe to close this browser. turn off your computer, grab coffee, do whatever you need to do and you'll get a notification when it's completed. if migration gets slow at some point, please pay attention to the alert icon next to the migration progress and it'll explain detected issues. and what i've notiked is that sometimes it might take a little bit to completely migrate, maybe like 15 to 20 minutes or so, but what you will see is like pretty much instantly, within minutes, you'll start to see products start popping up inside of your shopify store, just like this. i mean it's incredible, and if you want, you can actually go and click inside of one of these products right here and you'll see that it actually starts pulling in all the titles, the descriptions, the images, the prices- all this stuff is already in your store, just like that. so i would say, like, give it 15 minutes, maybe 30 minutes or so, and then come back and check it out, and everything should be pretty much done at that point. i haven't really seen anything take much longer than that. now, obviously, i was using godaddy as an example in this video. you might be using something different, so it might be a little bit different depending on what platform you're coming from. so if you do need a little bit extra assistance, we do have a very affordable service where we Transferring Domains: What You Need to Know

buying a domain name is simple. you just go to google, type domain name, click the first result, register the domain and you're done. chances are you don't even really think about it again after doing that, until the domain comes up for renewal next year. as people get more experience with domain names, i find that they say: oh, you know what? i think this first place i register my domain at probably isn't the best place to keep it at. typically, the more popular domain registrars go daddy. i'm not trying to call any company out, but there are some popular domain registrars that are not really great, and as people get more experience, they realize that and they want to transfer their domain out. so what are the considerations before you transfer your domain name? well, the first thing you need to keep in mind is that you'll need to unlock your domain before you transfer. there's something called a domain transfer lock, and every registrar does this. what you'll need to do is log into your domain registrar panel and flip the switch that says domain transfer lock to off, and this tells the new registrar that you are able to transfer your domain out from the previous registrar to that. that's not all, though. you also need to obtain the auth code. the auth code is a randomly generated code, like a password. your domain registrar will have a spot in their panel where you can say request auth code. they'll usually email this to you or you can contact support and they will be able to send this to you as well. your auth code is your tiket to transfer your domain name. so you need the auth code and you need to have your domain unlocked in order to be able to transfer it to the new registrar. now, in most cases, you're going to be allowed to transfer your domain name anywhere you want, whenever you want. however, there are two scenarios in which you may not be able to transfer your domain name. yes, your domain could be hostage at your current registrar. the first case is if your domain is less than 60 days old. so if you bought your domain last month at godaddy and you're trying to transfer it to namecheap, you may not be able to do this. we'll tok about why in a second. the second case is if you updated the contact info on the domain, the registrant details, the information that is publicly listed in the who is database. if you updated that info within the last 60 days, that is another thing that could stop you from transferring your domain name to another registrar. why is this? well, i can, the non-profit organization that regulates domains, actually put this rule in place to help prevent fraud. i'll be honest, i don't totally understand it. i don't know what this prevents as far as fraud, but the good news is that registrars have the option to let people opt out, and i find that most registrars, including godaddy, including ones i'm not really a big fan of- they tend to let you opt out of this stuff, so i wouldn't be too concerned about this. but just keep in mind, if your domain is less than 60 days old, or if you did recently update the contact info tiknically, your registrar could choose to stop you from transferring the domain name. and that's an i can regulation, meaning the registrar isn't necessarily the bad guy. it's just a weird quirk about how domains work. so one important thing you need to know when you transfer your domain is that you're actually adding one year of time to when your domain name expires. what does this mean? well, i think when a lot of people transfer their domain, they think, oh, i'm paying eight or ten dollars to transfer my domain, like i'm paying a transfer fee, and that's actually not true. what you're paying for is adding one year of time to your domain name at the new registrar. so if you've got one month left on your domain before you transfer, after you transfer it you're gonna have one month plus one year left. so at this point you're probably wondering, christian, how do i transfer my domain name? and i've actually got a full tutorial you can watch on transferring your domain name from godaddy to namecheap. i'll have that linked up here and in the description below. it's an unlisted video, so make sure you check the links to be able to find it. when you do go to transfer your domain name, you're gonna find it'll take anywhere from two to nine days to transfer, and this is because registrars have different methods for transferring your domain out from the old one and into the new one. what do i mean? well, some registrars are going to send you an email saying: hey, we got a request to release your domain to the new registrar. if we don't hear from you for five days, we're gonna go ahead and release that automatikally. in that case, you basically have a five day waiting period before the new registrar can get a hold of that domain and take it into their possession. so if that's the case, it's gonna be closer to probably seven to nine days to transfer your domain. however, some registrars are kind and they'll actually send you an email and say: hey, the new registrar sent us an email letting us know that you want to transfer your domain out. if this is really true, click the link in this email and will release it immediately. when that happens, your domain transfer will probably take place in two to four days. so hopefully your registrar is one of those that will let you just click the link and release it to the new registrar. if not, you have a waiting period that unfortunately cannot be bypassed. and speaking of waiting periods and things that cannot be bypassed, if your domain expires in less than seven days, stop, do not pass. go renew your domain name at the current registrar first before you transfer. i know what you're thinking. you're probably going, but, christian, i want to get this thing away from godaddy or wherever i'm leaving. i don't want to renew this domain again before i transfer it. i know, i know, i know it's probably a painfully high renewal cost, but if your domain expires in less than seven days- and it's important, meaning it's running on a live website that gets traffic. you don't want to risk your domain name expiring while it's in the transfer process. think about this: if your registrar is one of those that has, say, a five day waiting period, and then it might take two to three business days for the new registrar to transfer it in once it's released, you might wait eight or nine days for that transfer to take place, and until it is complete and at the new registrar, the old registrar is responsible for it. so if you have seven days left on the domain and it takes nine days to transfer, well, guess what? for the last two days of that transfer, your domain is expired and there's not really anything you can do about it because it's being transferred. you're literally going to get stuck where you have no choice but to wait with your website offline until the transfer is completed. so those are the things you need to know before transferring your domain name from any registrar to any registrar. if you'd like to know how to transfer a domain name, i have a whole tutorial on transferring from godaddy to namecheap. if that's what you're transferring to and from, great. but if not, you're still going to get great insight out of this tutorial, because the transfer process is very similar, no matter who you're transferring from or to. so if you like this video, definitely do be sure to hit that subscribe button and click the bell, so you don't miss when i release new videos. and with that said, i will catch you guys next time.

How to Connect your Domain to Shopify - Updated 2023

[Music]. getting a domain directly from shopify may cost you more than getting it from a third party site such as godaddy hostgator, namecheap, bluehost hostinger and many more. this is one of the main reasons why a lot of e-commerce sellers get domains from a third-party site and not from shopify. aside from the domain purchase, you also need to consider the renewal price. if you also hold a lot of stores, it may be beneficial for you to get it from those third-party domain registrar. when you connect a third-party domain to shopify, it points your domain name to your shopify store, so when someone enters your url into their browser, they'll be directly to your shopify ecommerce shop. in this tutorial, we will walk you through the general setup on how to connect your domain to your shopify. it doesn't matter what third party site is that. the process will still be the same. to start off, access your shopify admin at wwwshopifycom. once you're in your shopify admin, click the online store tab on the left side. then select domain on the drop down. you should see your primary domain there, which should be the my shopify domain. click the connect existing domain located on top, then type the domain that you have on the field and click next in order for us to know the values that we need to change, let's click the verify button. it now will show us what values needs to be changed. so we will need to change two values, which is the c name and the a record. next thing that we need to do is to access the third-party site on where you bought your domain for this tutorial. our domain is bought from hostinger, so i'll login to hoststingercom. the domain name system records, or the dns records on host stinger. you can access them on the dns or name server tab. this is where you should see the list of records. we'll be changing the c name and the a record. go back to your shopify window and notike that the current value on cname is bt tutorials, tutorialsonline, and it needs to be changed to shopsmyshopifycom. so just click copy on the required value of cname and go back to your domain registrar. look for the cname that has the same value indicated in shopify and edit it. replace it with the one that's indicated on shopify, which is shopsmyshopifycom, and update the changes. go back to your shopify window and the next value that we need to change is the a record. copy the required ip address and take note of the current ip address. go back to your domain register window and look for the au record indicated on shopify. replace it with the required ip address and update your changes. go back to your shopify window and click the verify again button. it should then show you that the primary domain has been updated to your personalized url. you now have updated your domain and when your customers enter your url, all of them will be directed to your shopify store. do you like this content? if you do, don't forget to like this video. click the subscribe button and ring that notification bell so you will get notified in our next [Music] video. Squarespace to Shopify - How to Migrate Products - Import Products Squarespace vs Shopify

okay, so go to your squarespace, admin, click inventory. bear with me, my computer is slow and my fan is blowing, so ignore the noise in the background. this video will be really quick, so just bear with me. okay, so we're in the inventory. i'm gonna select a product. okay, so i'm gonna choose the get teardrop ring, click select. at the bottom of the screen it will say like: uh, you can export it. so you won't see it right now, but it basically says export one item or export selected item, and then click export and then what will happen is you will get the csvs file. okay, for that item or whichever items you select. you could even do all your items at once by clicking export tool, but we're just going to do one item for now. okay, so i've got that in my finder. i'm gonna head over to shopify. go to shopify admin, um, then go to apps. you should already download this app. it's called store importer. okay, you can see the icon there be easy to find. so click on store importer from your apps inside of shopify, and this is going to take forever to load. so once you've done that, what you essentially need to do is drag and drop your csv file into the store importer now. the reason this is important is because the store importer will also include all your seo, all your photos and images. it will pretty much take exactly what was on squarespace into shopify. so that's saving you god knows how much time. um, so i did it on this website with about 30 items or 20, 20 items, 25 items, so you can see, that's from my previous one. so your page will look like this, if you've never done it before, and then you just add the file here. so drag your csv file right there, allow it to upload. sorry, everything's slow right now, so continue. upload imports. so then click import, which i'm. i'm recording my voice after i've recorded the video. so so, yeah, click import and then it will upload. and then, once it's successfully imported, you can go to your products and actually see it within your product, and then you can do what you want with it. you can add it to a collection, you can list it as a product on your website, and so on. so it's successfully imported. and then i'll go over to the left, click products, scroll down and you will now see the baguette teardrop ring at the very top. so i can just use that in my store now as a product. so you see, it's got all the writing, all the images, it even has a tag, but sometimes they miss the text, so you want to, um, delete or rewrite the tags, but, yeah, that's how you do it. um, yeah, and i'm loving shopify. i've done the transition, though i've tried, transferred everything over to shopify because squarespace, with the mobile phone speed, is just awful, and, uh, i'm gonna do a video all about squarespace versus shopify. so look out for that, okay, and also be sure to check out my website, uh, london minx, londonminxminxcom, and check out my cool products there.

How To Add and transfer Domain name in Squarespace

so, as you can see, when you first get your website set up here- we have put our title here and some of the links are already put together from this template. you're gonna notike that it's going to give you an actual domain name to view your website. so we'll come here to the left. so let's go back a little bit. let's say we're at home, right, you go down to pages and you can see all the different pages, right, and that shows the linkage between all the parts of your website. but if we come back here and go to settings, you can actually come down to where it says web site and domains. okay, so in domains, once you click that, you can see the built in domain that Squarespace gave you and that here is Brittany flowers, and then do some other nonsense here: dot squarespacecom. so you can actually click on this and change it. so you can make it, let's say Britney, Britney bags Paris, because that's the name of your website, right? so rename it, confirm and give it one minute to process, and now you'll see it has changed. see, at the top it says Britney bags Paris, squarespacecom. this is the domain provided by Squarespace. so let's go back to settings, let's go back to domains and now you can see it has changed: Britney bags Paris, squarespacecom. but you want Britney bags Paris, calm, right, or whatever the domain is that you've purchased. so if you haven't already purchased it through G suite or one of the other options, you can actually go ahead and get your domain here, and you know that's one option. or you can use a domain that you already own and what you'll need to do is, after you use the domain that you already own, then it's going to show it here under under domains and you'll be able to actually make it your primary. see how this is primary. so you could click user domain I own and then you type in Brittany bags, Paris, calm, and continue, and then it'll say connect from provider and then you select your provider. let's say you got it at GoDaddy, for example, and this can actually, you know, give you an idea of all the places you could get it. see, there's Bluehost, there's GoDaddy, and gives you kind of an idea there. so say GoDaddy and then say connect domain and what it'll actually do is it'll bring up your GoDaddy account, for example. you sign in and it's gonna connect it. ok, so it's pretty straightforward. oops, failed to link, of course, because I'm not actually linking it, and that's how that can be connected. now another thing you can do is you can actually, if you have your domain at GoDaddy or another registrar, you can actually bring it over and transfer it over to Squarespace itself. ok, so let me show you how to do that. so you go over, go over here and back to the, the home page by just going to your account and go to domains, and then you can actually click here- I already have a domain- transfer your domain and then, you see, you can actually transfer it over. and the only, the only you know trick here is that you have to make sure that it hasn't been purchased in the last 60 days. if it has, you're gonna have to wait until you do it. so you you type in your domain, blah, blah, blah, and then continue and you transfer it over. and the benefit to transferring it over to Squarespace is that you would be able to actually, you know, have it in one place. it's a little bit easier to connect. the negative to it is then you might cost you a little bit more to knew it every year, and that's one of the benefits to keeping it at a place such as such as GoDaddy, but that gives you an idea. let's go back to my account. so what happens is, once you've actually connected that domain- let's say you didn't transfer it over actually, but it's still with GoDaddy or Bluehost or somewhere else and you've connected it here- what it's gonna do is it's gonna actually allow you to make it your primary and then, by making it your primary, it will fix this issue, so you won't have the dot squarespacecom.

How to Migrate from Squarespace to Shopify with litextension

hey, what's up. this is omari herribin. i'm currently testing out lit extension and i'm trying to create a migration from squarespace to shopify. so i just created a free account and i'm going to now create new migration and i'm going to go from squarespace and i've gotta share my url. all right. now i don't necessarily have um too many products here, just a couple demo products that i that i use for demo purposes, but since this qualifies as a demo, it should be all right. so i just created a shopify store a couple moments ago. there's nothing, i haven't added any product, just started the trial. so i need the store id, which is right here- new ss store dot my shopify, and the api password. now to get an api password, here we're going to go to apps, scroll down to manage private apps, click enable private app development, and we're going to click enable and now we're going to click create private app, okay, and so we'll call this migration okay. so now we're going to also set the permissions for all of these options to read and write, read and write, okay, once you. once you've done that, just come down and hit save, create app, and then now we have, uh, an api password. here i'm going to click show and i'm going to copy this and paste it here. all right. now let's click configure your migration. okay, and so now i can select the entities to migrate. so i'm going to migrate everything possible here, including blog posts, and there's some additional options. i can clear current data on the target store. so there's no data on the target store because i just created it. now it's it's a trial store. transfer images to target store: okay, it looks like i have to pay extra 39 for that. preserve order ids: okay. create 001 redirects on your target store: okay, all right, so i'm going to leave those for now, but it's good to know that that exists and let's see our order status. we're going to leave that, as is all right. so it says that my demo migration is now running, so i'm going to wait for this to complete. uh, says it's running in the background, so i don't even need to keep the browser open, but i'm going to keep it open, all right, so our demo migration is completed, um, and so what it does is: it doesn't do a full, you know- migration of everything, it just does partial. um then gives you a quote on how much it will cost to complete, and so, based on the number of products i have- number of customers, orders, blog posts- uh, i'd have to pay 89, which i think is really reasonable for this. now let me jump over to shopify here and show you what's happened. so, under orders, you can see, um, it's added all my orders here which add up with the orders or match up with the orders i have in squarespace. let's look at the products. so i brought in, brought in my digital products as well as kind of these physical demo products today. what else customers? so i don't want to show you that, but brought over customers as well. um, and also blog content. so if i go to blog posts, i can see it brought over my blog posts. so this is pretty good. let's look at one. so all the links, images, and then let's look at the product catalog as well. so, pretty much brought over all of my products. it looks like you can see, you can see what it looks like over here in squarespace and then over here in shopify. so product descriptions- copied that over the links that i had as well. uh, so, yeah, i'm i'm pretty, i'm pretty impressed, um, i think for 89 being able to get all my blog content, all the products, product descriptions, the images, um order information as well. i think that's really. i think this is a pretty useful tool. um, rate that five stars and uh, yeah, i think i would definitely, i would definitely recommend this, um. yeah, there's not much more to say about it then. then it works as expected and does what it says it would do, and so from here, i think the next step would simply be to kind of style the site and just go through and make sure everything is is as you'd like it, partikularly the the products, um. one thing i would have to do is add the reviews, um, but i would have to do that separately. import the reviews from squarespace into shopify, um, but other than that, again, this is. this is really good. i'm happy with it.
