Twitch Ad Blocker

Published on: June 4 2023 by pipiads

Twitch's battle with ad blockers has been ongoing for the past 15 years, with both sides constantly improving their methods. However, ads are a multi-billion dollar business and will likely win out in the end. While there will always be a way to avoid ads, it will become increasingly difficult for the average person. Twitch has found a workaround for ad blockers, but the high ad density is causing many viewers to watch less. Punishing those with ad blockers may incentivize more people to get rid of them. The ad industry will likely continue to innovate and adapt, making it harder for ad blockers to keep up. While piracy and ad-blocking will never fully disappear, it will become more challenging to do so as time goes on.

AdBlock Not Working on Twitch - FIXED [ 7 Instant Solution ]

Hey guys, welcome back to Subrave. In this video, I will be explaining how to fix AdBlock not working on Twitch. If you already have the ad blocker on your browser like Google Chrome or Firefox and still if you are getting the advertisements on Twitch or YouTube, then how you need to fix it.

Solution:

1. Make sure that your adblock has not been disabled

- Sometimes we just disable it for some other work and we forget to just enable it back.

- Verify it like it happened in my case. I disabled it for some other work like for website and then I forgot to just enable it back.

- On Google Chrome on the very right-hand top, you will see the three dots. Click on it and go to more tools and then click on extensions.

- Here you can see AdBlock has been installed but it has been disabled.

- Refresh Twitch and just check back that if you are getting ads or not.

2. Update your extension

- Twitch keeps bringing some new features and updates so that they can block such kind of extensions that block their ads to show on their channel.

- In order to do that, just click on the extension bar only and you will see the update.

- In case if you don't find it here, then on the very right in top, you will see the developer mode. So what you have to do just need to enable it.

- Once you enable it, you will see the option of update. That's what you have to do.

- Once you click on it, this will update all the extension that you have on your browser.

3. Check AdBlock settings

- On the very right and top, you will see the AdBlock icon. Click on it and then click on settings.

- In the general options, it says allow some non-intrusive advertising. You need to disable this option.

- Then it says allow ads on specific Twitch channels so probably this has been checked in your case. So you also need to verify this is unchecked.

- Now again, if you come to the filter list, this acceptable ads option should also be disabled.

- After doing this, restart your browser. Just open Twitch again and see that if this fix the problem.

4. Disable other extensions

- There can be some problem with other extensions. There is a conflict and many users reported that they fixed this problem by disabling some other extensions.

- Click on the three dots on the very right-hand top. Go to more tools and then all the extensions.

- Except AdBlock, you can just disable all the other extensions here. That will be temporary just to verify that the other extensions are not creating the problem.

- Even I would recommend the extension that you don't use or you don't identify just better remove them. Just remove it from your browser and then try back again and check if this fixes the problem.

5. Use a new extension

- If nothing is working, then you have the best solution that is you can just go with a new extension.

- Come to the Google and here you need to type video ad blocker or Twitch.

- Install this extension as well.

- Recently most of the user who had this problem they simply went with this extension. They added to their browser and the problem was fixed. There was no any kind of ads showing on their Twitch.

6. Use VPN

- You can also go with the VPN.

- Twitch does not serve ads in all the countries. For example like Russia, Mexico, and Hungary.

- Just go and connect to these countries with your VPN and then access your Twitch. You won't be getting any kind of advertisements.

- I have already tested and this works.
