How To Set Up A Coming Soon Shopify Page
hey guys, welcome back to my channel, and in today's video i am going to show you how to create a comments on page that will draw attention and attract um customers in your store, and this will also helps you to start building your marketing and prepare you to launch your business. so let's just get started. so, basically, before i start showing you how to create a comments on page, these are the most important you need to know that should be included on your comments on page. um. first, you need to explain what it is that is coming soon. um also, you should tok about your product, a little bit about your company. um also let your customer know when and uh when you're launching your site. um include a line of communication through email or social media etc. these will allow you and helps you to get connected with your customers. um also, a really good tip is that include your social media um sharing button. so this will- this is actually- for people- to spread the word about your brand. so let's get started. um first, make sure you are on the online store, click online store and on the theme section, click here customize, and this will take you on the customization page. so, from here on the home page, click this arrow down and scroll all the way down and click others. so from here, from here, click password and you can see here you have a title already. uh, this is like a demo um from shopify. it says opening soon. so you can basically start editing this page. so we can start editing this page by going on this section over here and start editing everything. um, so let's click there. so this is the uh password header. you can actually add your logo image. so i am going to select logo and i am going to put the logo on my of my business and you can do the same thing and then click select and my logo will be right up here and you can change the size of the logo if you want it to be a little bit bigger, bigger or just a medium size, you can actually do that. so, and then let's go back um, and now let's click here and edit the openings on the section. so when we click there we go, we are going to edit um the heading. so instead of rubbing opening soon, let's start um, let's put um- coming soon, okay, and you can pick the size of the header if you want it to be small, um, large or medium. so that is up to you. i think i'm gonna put large. yeah, i'm gonna. i'm going to put large, okay, but you can pick the size you want, uh, so now i just um, we just edited the header. now this will be this section where you're going to tell your customer, um, you can tell your customer here, like what it is that is coming soon. you can include also your information, um, that you need your customers to know. you can tell them about your brand and stuff like that. you can also, um, let's go back, let's go back here. you can also add um, first, we have an email at least section here where they can, after telling them about the product, um, you can tell them to subscribe down here and they can put their email. so this is good. it's just there as a template from shopify, but you can also add different sections. so pretty much this is how it is gonna look like like coming soon, and you can tell them here about what it is that is coming soon. and you can tell them also, like, be the first one to know about when we launch. uh, blah, blah, blah. you can get maybe like a 20 percent off or like 10 of and leave us a in your email address over here so we can send you a coupon code and you can be the first one to know when we launch our store. this will helps you a lot to get connected with your customers, to build um your email listing and things like that. so what we are going to do now, let's go back. uh, you can also add different section. you can add section by clicking add section. so, uh, pretty much, don't add like so many things and you can add like few things. um, the lace the coming soon looks is better. don't add so many things to uh make things um not looking um neat and good. so, basically, you can add a video that maybe showcase what you are all about or also maybe showing your product that will be available during your lunching day and things like that. so, on the ad section here, scroll all the way down and click video. so let's add a video. so we can add a video on our about us page and on this video you can explain about your store or what you can showcase also your product, um, and we can basically- um, let's go back. we can basically drag the video uh to the place that you want it to be. so you see these, um, six dots. you can actually drag the video up here. so, basically, your kaiser will see the video and then the comments and page will come up here. or if you don't want your video to be up there, you can, uh, do the same thing by taking these six dots and drag it all the way down so you can pick the section that you want, uh, this video to be, and so your customer will be able to see about your product and you can also tell them like coming soon, and tell them a bit of the description and the email. they can sign up, and this should be good to go. um, you can also change the image, your background image, right over here. so by clicking the image behind you, behind the coming zone, page um, and then click select image and you can put the image that you want. so you can put maybe a little like your logo, one of your products, um, anything that you think will be great for your comments on page, you can do that. so i'm going to select that and i am going to click save and if i go back- you can see this is now- my comments on page will be looking like. i have an image behind here and this is the video that will be showcasing my, um, my, my products. you can also click the video. let me show you so you can also click the video. when you click the video, you can select the cover. so it's good to have a cover. this will helps you a lot to make everything like things like more neat and professional and good. so just gonna go back. so when your customers visited the link of your store, they'll be able to see the link of the video with the cover here. so they will click that and the video will show them about the product and when they scroll all the way down, they'll see they're coming soon and the information that you want them to know about it, um, and things like that. so after you edited and add everything, you can click save here. and now our comments on page has been created. so basically, you can add as many section as you want, but i will recommend you not to add like so many section, but have like only few section, because the less you have contents on your i'm coming, coming soon, page, the better will be. don't have like so much that your customer won't be able to read or follow along on everything, so i hope you liked today's video. if you do, please give me a big thumbs up, subscribe on my channel for more video like this and i'll see you guys on the next video.
How to Create and Edit Shopify Pages on Your Shopify Store
hello everyone. today we're going to be looking at adding pages to your shopify store and editing pages to suit your liking. so, from your shopify admin, head on over to online store in the left-hand navigation and then, from there, click on the pages tab. next, simply click on the add page button down at the bottom or at the upper top right hand corner. the first thing you're going to do is add a title for your page. so let's say, we want to create a page that's announcing an upcoming sale. so once you've written your title here, you can go ahead into the content box, and this is where you will be adding things like text, links, images and so on. so now that i've added this very little bit of text, i'll show you how to update um and customize some of this text. so, just like you would a word document, let's say we wanted to bold something, just highlight it and from there, click on the bold. you can also do things, like you know, italicize the text as well, which, again just like a word document, you can use your command or control i key so you can also add links to the text. so, for example, if you wanted to link social media, you would highlight it and then click on the hyperlink icon here and then add your link. so i'm just going to use google as an example: open this link in. so this drop-down currently is set so that when they click on a link it'll just open in the same page. but in most cases, if anyone's ever going to leave your website, you want it to open up in a new window so that it's easy enough for them just to go back to the other tab and still engage with your website, and then i'm just going to click on insert link. so at the moment i can't actually preview the page, and i would like to do that. so, in order to preview, hit save and then shopify will give you the option to preview it. so now i just hit save and the page is live, which is fine with me. but if you wanted to hide it, you could select the hidden option here. but i'm going to go ahead and leave it as visible. so now, if we want to view the page, simply click, obviously, the view page button and then, this way, we can kind of see what it's starting to look like. obviously incredibly boring page. we would definitely want to add more to it. and another thing that you can do is every theme has a different set of page templates, so this is a free theme. it's incredibly limited and right now we only have a page and a page- contact. so if i change the template, suffix to pagecontact and then i save, it's going to look like a contact page and because this is just an announcement page that we're going to highlight a few sales, we really don't need the contact form, so i'm going to go back and change that back to page. now, if you have a premium template that you've paid for, likely you will have more options than that. you'll have things like a wide layout and other different options that you can play with. so i'm just going to leave it on page and save it again. so the next thing that we're going to do is add an image to the page. so click on the area that you want to add the image. i simply hit enter a couple of times and then click on the insert image button. from there, you can use an image that you've already uploaded. you can upload a new image. you can also grab an image from an existing product that you have, or you can throw in a url of an image that's already sitting on a website somewhere. so in this case, i already have uploaded the image that i want, so i'll go ahead and click on it: [Music]. i can then add image alt text, and alt text is great in that it makes your website more accessible and it also increases your seo. search engines will be able to crawl your website and grab these little bits of text that you've added to your images. you can then select the size of the image. so the original image is quite large, so i'm actually going to make it a bit smaller here. let's go with the 600 by 600 and then insert image. if you'd like to see what that looks like, hit the save button and click on view page. so this is what our page is looking like so far. now, to be honest, i'd rather this be a bit wider or at least centered, so i'm going to go back, click on the image and then we can play with the alignment. so, just like text, we can have left align, center align and right align. i'm going to go ahead and click on center, then we can hit save again, and at least that way it's in the middle. you can also add things like videos to your page, so i'm going to add a title here for the video and right now the format of the text is simply the kind of default paragraph text. but i want this to be a header. so i'm going to head up here to the formatting and select one of the different headings and from there we're going to go ahead and add a video. i'm going to add a youtube video to this page and in order to do that i'm going to need the embed code from the youtube video. so, to embed a youtube video, we're going to grab the youtube embed code from the video, and i'm just going to use this one as an example. of course, it has nothing to do with a black friday sale, it's just for example purposes. so once you get to the youtube video that you want to embed, click on the share button and then from there, click on the embed button. it's going to pump out a bit of code that you're going to need to copy and paste into your page. you do have the option to start at a certain point in the video, which we won't do in this case, but go ahead and click on the copy button and then you can close this and head back to your shopify page, and for this part, we can't just paste it into the page. i'll show you what happens if we do do that. but basically you're copying and pasting code into a formatted page and it's not going to work. it's just going to show you this text. so if we hit save and then go and view the page, you'll see that the code is purely just text, and of course that is not at all what we want on our page. so i'll head back and i'll remove this. but from here i'm going to click on the show html button. this will show you the code. now it's not going to look all that pretty once you're back there, but this is where you're going to want to put your embed code for the video and this is where you're going to want to add the embed code for your video. so click the very end of the current code and hit the enter key, then paste the code and you can then go back to show editor, which will take you back to the formatted view, and if you scroll down, you'll see the embedded youtube video. so we can hit save and then view the page again. and now we've got an embedded video. there's definitely too much space here, so just go ahead and delete that. now i'm going to go ahead and play around with a little more text. if you wanted to add a bulleted list, simply click there and then you can add your different items. [Music]. you can also add numbered lists. another thing that you can do is add a table. so let's say you had a page and you had maybe like a price list or something that you'd like to add. you can do that using a table. so head on up to the insert table button and click on- funny enough- insert table. now, with most tables, you're obviously not just going to want to have one row and one column, right. so go back up to the insert table button and from here you can add columns and rows. so let's go ahead and create our pretend price list now. to create that next line, i just hit the tab button and this table just simply has text in it right now. so let's hit enter after the table, just to space it out a little bit. and we haven't had a look at our page in a little while, so i'm going to hit save and then go and refresh the page now. this page is going to look messy, of course, but it's really just an example as to all of the different options that you have when creating a shopify page. so, again, we've got text up at the top that we've, you know. we've made certain parts of it bold italic. there's a link here, which is that google link that we created before. we've got bulleted lists, numbered lists, a table filled with text at the moment, along with an image a.

How To Create Shopify Coming Soon Page (2022)
how to create a shopify coming soon page, step by step. so, hi guys, welcome back to the youtube channel, and in this video, i will be teaching you a step-by-step process on how to create a shopify coming soon page. so, with no further ado, let's get started. so, as of here, you could see that i've opened my browser and search shopifycom. shopify is an e-commerce store where you could actually sell your products online. so here you search shopifycom, it will lead you here. they have plans for this. they have basic shopify and advance and, as we all know, the more we pay, the more benefits we get. but as of now, if you're just a small business or just want to try out shopify, then i recommend you to create an account for free. so all you have to do is to input this one and basically, if you're done inputting all the information needed, you will be led here to your shopify home page. so the first thing that you may want to do is to go here. under sales channel, there is online store and under that you will see here the preference. so if you scroll down, you will see this: password protection: you have to enable the password to restrict the access to your online store, so only the customers with the password could access it, especially that it is just a coming soon page. now what you want to do is to add password- let's say this one- and then the message for your visitors, and then do not forget to click on save. since we have saved that, the next thing that we have to do is to go here on apps, and under here on apps, you will download page fly. so you may want to go here to view more apps in this collection, or just type in here page fly. let's just say view more applications and wait for this to load, and you search here page fly. the first thing that will come out here on page fly, you have to add it to cart, then install it, and basically that is where we are going to edit our coming soon page. what's good thing about this is, if you download the page fly, it is for free, so you do not have to pay for anything. and if you are done installing your page fly and putting the information, you will be led here to the page fly dashboard, and this is how your dashboard will look like. now we will get straight to our business. so, under publishing, you will see here pages now, if you click on that, you will see regular pages, home pages, product pages, collection pages, blog post page and, lastly, the password pages and also they also have this thank you pages. so what you want to do is to go to password pages and if you have actually a template for this, you could just import it. but for now, i will teach you how to start creating your coming soon page from scratch. so here, create a new page or convert from a non-page fly pages or create a new page from templates. so pagefly actually gives you a free template. you will see here: holiday page, landing page, home page- they have 37 templates for that- product page and so on and so forth. now let's just use the password page. so here are the examples for password page. so we have ortos and what you have to do is, for example, you want to just check out the template so you could actually review, and this is how it will look like, and on mobile it will look like this. now, if you're not satisfied with that, then let's say: i want to use this one, select this template. then here you will have. you already have your coming soon page. so what you may want to do here if you click on this, you could add your logo. you could add here your image. if you want to change that, you could add text, title text. you could actually enable the full width of that, but let's just stay it that way and here will be your manipulating area. so let's say style, so you could style it here you could actually add the account numbers for that and basically you will have your coming soon page. but if you have a different idea of coming soon page, let's say you want to get your client's email address so that when the countdown stops you will then send them emails. you could choose these templates who have a bar for the customer stamp email address. all you have to do is to just drag it and you just basically play with it, as i have said, and here you could change this one, do that and then change alignment. would you want it to be bold or idealize, underline, depending on you? and then here, if the customer will visit your shop and then you will have a coming soon page and they want to actually see what is coming, then you will have this bar. so this requires the customer to put their email so that you will be able to notify them as soon as the countdown stop, and basically that is how you create a coming soon page. let's just save this one, name it under coming soon page, got it? and then let's preview this first, so it will now look like this: so it will go to your home and then you will see your products. so let us say, let's publish that. so here you will see the coming soon page for the shop. so all they have to do is to input their email address and then click on notify me and basically they will be notified and they could go to the home page of your shop. there's featured product and so on and so forth. now you have your own coming soon page and that is all for today. now you know how to create a shopify coming soon page, step by step. we are about to end this video and to end it on a good note, i would like to request you guys that if you found this video helpful, or if you found this method exactly what you wanted or what you're looking for, consider subscribing to our channel and sharing it to your friends and family, who might even learn a thing or two from this video or from the hundreds of video we have on your channel and, of course, if you have any questions, any queries or any confusions or any suggestions, please feel free to leave them down in the comment box below. i tried to cover everything i could in this video, but if you want to see more details on the methods or ways shared in this video, just let me know in the comments below, and i'll be sure to make more videos on your suggestions. at the end of the day, it's all about providing you guys with valuable content that could help instill a positive change in your life and, hopefully, your friends and family's life as well. in the end, i'd like to request you to make sure to hit that like and subscribe button, as it helps our videos out a lot, and again, thank you so much for watching. till next time, goodbye.

HOW TO MAKE CUSTOM SHOPIFY PAGE LAYOUT TEMPLATES, SECTIONS, AND THEMES | SHOPIFY 2.0 TUTORIAL 2022
welcome back graduates. so today I'm going to show you how to create custom page templates with Shopify 2.0, which is an amazing new feature that was released about a year ago, and what that basically means is, um, you have sections on the home page, and whatever sections you have on the home page, you have readily available to create beautiful landing pages on any other page. so I'm going to show you how to create, how to create a custom page template. but then I'm going to use one of us, one of the sections that, uh, We've created for you, and then show you how to set that up as well. I know there's been many requests how to use the section, the FAQ section, as a standalone page itself, so I'm going to go right into it and show you three, two, one. here we go. so you're in the back end of your Shopify store and there's a couple steps on how to do this. you're not going to get a zip file or anything, but I'm just going to show you right here. so if I click customize into my theme, I'm going to see the FAQ at the very bottom right here and it's a nice accordion drop down. and if you haven't had, if you don't have this yet. but you know you really want it. go and check the uh, the other video, the FAQ video. so going down here you have this and it is on the home page. but let's say I want to create a brand new, just specifically isolated FAQ page itself with the section here that you know you purchased or on other themes. so this doesn't just uh, this doesn't just go on our theme, this applies to any other theme. um, when you're on Shopify 2.0. so right over here I'm going to go into my theme editor, home page pages and I'm going to create a new template. so when you see the option create a new template or create templates, you'll know that you are on Shopify 2.0, just as is. so right now I only have contact. so I'm going to create a page template, I'm going to name it FAQ and this will only have the FAQ content in it, and I'm just going to do a based on the default page. now it's going to look like this, and you know it. it looks all weird and jumbled and it doesn't look like it's FAQ page. so right over here there's a preview you can preview, and I don't have a FAQ page right now, and then there's page. you can hide this and what this means is you can hide the page content right here. so I'm just going to hide this and then now I'm going to go and add the section and you have all these sections that you can add to build out beautiful landing pages. but what I'm going to do is I'm just going to start typing in F for the FAQ right over here, and then here is the default and I'm just going to save this. once you have this section, you can go and design it however you want, um with our settings. again, we do have you know options here: Max width. you can also add another section here. so I'm just going to add this and categorize it so it'll look really nice and I'm just gonna do 1200 again. so this top section I can do. let's do General and oh, General, and the bottom section here I'm going to name this. let's say this is for coffee. I'm gonna do our coffee. so, specifically, maybe the general could be shipping. you know about your business, coffee is about the coffee itself, and then you can have another one for shipping, returns policies, things like that, and I'm just gonna save it right here. so now I have this beautiful FAQ page, um and I have questions here. so when I go out of this, what I'm going to do is I'm going to go into my pages here in the back end. I'm going to go into pages and create a page. now I'm going to create this and I'm going to name this title, or I'm going to name this FAQ in the title. and then, right over here, this is where you assign your new custom page template. so this is after, or you can do this before. so I'm going to just assign this to FAQ, the new one I just created. I'm going to click save and take Shopify a little bit to um update, because it does take a little bit for Shopify to update. but here is the new page and it doesn't have any of the other content except strictly the FAQ. now, when you want to assign this to the navigation here, just going to reload this in the theme editor. when you want to assign this in the navigation, you'll go back into your back end and go and click on navigation and let's say, I want to put this in the main menu, even though sometimes it's most of the time it's in the footer- I will do add menu and you can start typing in pages and FAQ, and we'll take Shopify a little bit, but it takes a little bit online store. we're gonna click preview and it hasn't updated yet. has not updated yet. perfect. now we have the feq in the navigation right here. when I click on it. it's going to be. it's going to drive me to the new FAQ template that I just created. now this can work for any, you know, any theme. the same logic here, but this is the same. this is the way to create the content page now. but you go into the theme editor, you create the and you name the title that you want build out the landing page, and then you go create the page and then you assign it to the template and then you assign it to the navigation afterwards. uh, so let's say, for example, I'm going to go into here and, um, I want to create another page. and let's say I want to create a page, but it's going to be new landing, and the thing is, if I already have an FAQ page and I have already the content in there, um, and I, I know for myself it's going to have an FAQ section. you can do it based on the FAQ. you can do it based on whatever previous templates you have. so this means that all my content for the FAQs are going to be there, so everything's there. then I can go and add a new section, so I don't have to continue re-writing in content as well. so let's say I want to add a, a testimonial slider, and I'm just going to do that. right above here, I'm going to click save and then I'm also going to add a let's see agency. what else does do? we have and and Don have um image Banner. so I'm just going to do an image Banner and then I have a testimonials, then I have a, you know FAQ. but that's essentially how the custom page template works. if you do need help, reach out to hello ecomgraduatescom and we'll be sure to help you. hope this video did help. please like, comment and subscribe, as it does help the YouTube algorithm and we can. we can create more videos, how-to videos like this to help you. thank you.
Shopify Landing Page // Case Study | How to make your first sale online (shopify for beginners)
for me. today i am back with another video in the how to make your first sale- online shopify for beginners case study. so today i am just going to simply show you guys how to set up your password page so you can start getting some type of traction or getting emails before you completely like open up your shop and, um, if you already start, you know, sharing or making your first post, then people can actually have some place to give you their email address where you can then have some emails already to send a email out when the shop is ready, or teasers, or just anything that you want to send beforehand. so this is your dashboard in your shopify store and you're just going to go ahead and click on online store. we have not decided on the theme or anything yet, so right now we're just going to use the current debut theme and then we're going to hit customize. so, because we're not sure what we want our store to look like yet, we're just concerned about the password page. um, as the days go by, you'll get more into designing colors and all that, but today we just want to have our landing page, which is our password page, to actually look like something when you go to our website, okay, so now you're in the customized part and you're gonna go up to the top and from the drop down menu going to hit password page. okay, so this what it looks like, and then you can go into the header and you can select your image. i'm just probably going to put um, the logo, so let's see which one i'm going to use. i don't want to use the one with the white words because you probably won't be able to see it, so we're going to use our logo, which is there. okay, we can make it bigger, smaller. that's a good size. we can just leave coming soon there. gonna hit the back button- i'm sorry guys- and it says: you know, be the first to know when we launch. or i can pee, just put welcome to slov lovecom and then i'll put: will be opening shortly, but in the meantime, drop your email for early access, make it entiking. so then they put their email address in there and you just put sign up. okay, then you go back and then they have a footer here and we can just put our um, let's put one stop shop for all things sloth. okay, that's what we're gonna put there. so, and then you know they have facebook, twitter, pinterest, those things there, all right, so, all right. so we are pretty much good to go. so you can check out the view on the phone, what it looks like on the computer, and it's just a full view of what it looks like. i'm not sure, did it show anything about a background page? let me see, didn't show anything about the background or anything. but we're going to hit save. then i'm going to go over here, i'm going to type in sloth, loftcom and you'll see the password page that we just did. so you know that just looks a little better for anyone visiting your site. okay, so i'm gonna go back here and go back to shopify, all right. so right now it's just basically saying: okay, this is your current theme. you have pages, navigations, and we're going to go over to preference really quick. so on your home page, this basically says: what do you want this to say? and i wanted to say the business name and i wanted to say one stop shop for all things. so this is something called like metadata. um, i'm gonna probably put this in the same thing, but you want to accurately express what your website is about in detail. um, you also want to add a lot of keywords that you think people will be using. so i'm going to say apparel, sloth necklaces and jewelry, sloth t-shirts and sloth mugs. now i'm i have not picked my actual product yet, but i just this is what i'm leaning towards. um, i haven't picked it as the time this video was recorded, but you guys will see i will pick these things. um, we'll go come back later and put in our facebook pixel here, but, um, this is like the password, the password page. so you just want your- you know your- metadata to be good and it's good idea to we can. let's see how much time i've toked so we can just check out the themes right now. so let's look at some of the themes. so we want to look at the, the free ones, and, no matter what we do, we want to make sure that this is simple and clean, and i'm probably going to go with the simple thing, mainly because it basically shows that you just want you want the product to be at the forefront, easy, quick to come to, you know, super simple. so we're going to add that to our theme library. and this is you choosing a theme so you can switch it. so i'm now going to show you how to use that one. because right now the current theme is, you know, just a debut theme, and so we're going to say actions and we're going to say we're going to publish this one. okay, your password page isn't enabling, it can't be disabling after publishing. so we're gonna change the theme and then we're gonna. so now the theme shows is simple. that was so super simple. if you want to switch it and duplicate it, rename it, edit the code, preview it, you can preview it here. everything should look the same with the wording um, with the password password page. when we do that. but, um, we'll go over here so we can see what the password page looks like versus how your shop will look. so i'm going to go to customize, i'm going to select the password page again. this is after we change the theme. so in this. so so far, we've changed the theme and we've created, you know, a nice little landing page for our um thing. so because we change different themes, we have to do that again, because we want the content to be cohesive. okay, so i'm just gonna put welcome to sla fluff. so i'm not gonna put anything there. [Music]. i'm just gonna put sign up. okay, go back, all right, so got all that and that's what this one will look like. and then, um, since i saved that, i should be able to refresh, and then you just kind of see the new one, how that looks, okay, so that was your password protection page, just so your store can look like something when someone goes on to your store- your actual store, so it doesn't look crazy. so so far, i've showed you how to sign up for shopify. um, i've showed you how to pick a theme. you can actually pay for themes if you want to. if you don't want the free themes, i'm going to use the free theme. i showed you how to create your password page. i showed you how to change a theme and customize your password page. um, so so far that's it for this video. um, and don't forget to like, comment, subscribe and share. and guys, don't forget to um, check out gumroadcom backslash cinquantagocsmith. uh, there is a plan: your brand workbook and case study checklist that is available on my gun world store. first 20 people um to purchase and use the code, youtube gets uh, 10, 10, 10 off. so check that out. and until next time, i love you more than i love this video. peace.
How To Add Sections To ANY Shopify Page | Add More Sections To Shopify Pages
all right, what's up guys? this is jake, and in this video i'm going to be showing you how you can add sections to any page on your shopify store. so one thing you'll probably notike if you've been setting up your store is that when you're customizing the home page right here, you'll see that you can add a bunch of different sections on here, and that's cool and all, but you'll notike that you can really only do this on the home page. so if i were to switch to like just a blank page here, like my about page for example, you'll see that it only really has a header and a footer section. as far as this template goes, there's nothing else on it and we can't really edit or add or move any of these different sections right here. you'll notike, most themes don't really come with many templates here. so what this essentially means is that your home page is pretty highly customizable and has a lot of different sections to it, but then the rest of your pages might be looking a little bland or boring. so in this video i'm going to show you how you can go ahead and add sections like this to any page that you want. so what you want to go ahead and do here first is we're going to go ahead and exit the editor, but i'm going to open up the editor in another tab here for later on, and the first thing that we're gonna do here really quick is create a test page. so i'm gonna go to pages here, add page and just create test. and you'll notike here that we have theme templates here. default page and contact is the only one that comes with the debut theme right here. and what we're gonna have to do here to add sections to any page we want is to create a new theme template, which we're gonna actually have to do by going into the theme editor and editing some code. but it's actually really easy and i'm going to show you the exact code you need to use so it won't be that hard. so i'm going to go ahead and just save this test page really quick and then i'm going to go over here to online store and i'm going to open this in a new tab to keep the pages open for later. and what we're gonna go ahead and do here first, before we actually edit the code, we're going to first just make sure you duplicate your theme, just in case you accidentally, uh, missed click on something and you mess up something within the theme, you just want to make sure you duplicate it so that way that mistake can immediately be erased. so once you duplicate your theme, we're going to go down here to edit code, and what i'm going to do now is show you how you can go ahead and create a new template. so we can see right here: we have different templates here and we can see that if we go down here to page, we can see we only have two page templates. we have the contact and then just regular pageliquid and, depending on what theme you're using, you may have more or less page templates. so what we want to go ahead and do here is just click on add a new template and we're going to make it a page and i'm going to just name it test and i'm going to click create template, and what we're going to go ahead and do is, whatever code is in here already, i'm going to go ahead and get rid of it, and what i'm going to go ahead and do now is scroll down here to sections and open this up, and we're going to use this as a reference right here. so these are all the different sections that are available within your theme here and we can add these sections into our page template with this simple code right here. so this is going to be the code. i will provide it in the description as well. so all it is is the curly bracket, a percentage sign, space, and then type section, and then you're going to put a quote, a single quote, and then you're going to go ahead and find a template down here that you want to go ahead and add in. so let's say, i just want to go ahead and add in a rich text section. i would just type rich text, just like it says down there: close the quote, do another space, do a percentage sign and close it with another curly quote, and that's it. and you'll notike down here that what we're putting in between the quotes is going to be whatever text comes before the dot liquid. so we've went ahead and added a rich text section in here. so i'm going to go ahead and copy this and paste two more, just so that way we have just that. we don't have to type all this out once again. so let's say, now i wanted to go ahead and add in instead of a rich text, we wanted to add in newsletter. so i could type in newsletter and, let's say, we wanted to add in a map. so i could type in map and we could go ahead and add in a bunch of different ones if we wanted to. but one thing you'll notike is that certain ones won't actually work when you do this method and certain ones will, so you can go ahead and test out um different ones. so, for example, i know one of these, i know this one right here won't work, so i'm going to go ahead and use that now just to show you what that'll look like. so once we go ahead and put in these sections, we're going to click save and keep in mind that the order in which the sections are here in the code is the order in which they're going to show up on the template. so now that we've saved this template, we're going to come back over to pages and click refresh and then we can come down here to templates, theme template, and we'll see here that our new template we just created, test. now it shows up. so we're going to go ahead and switch this template to test. but actually really quick, first i'm going to open up the default page right here just to show you what that looks like. so we can see this is the blank page template we already have. and now, once i switch that to test, i'm going to go ahead and click save- refresh this page. and now we can see that we have a couple of things showing up on our template. so this is the rich text section. so this is rich text right here, and then we have the newsletter section right here, and then we have the map section right here, and then you can see this is what i was telling you right here. we see liquid error. so we can see that we cannot add the collections product template. so this collection template, we cannot add that in this partikular manner. so that's why i wanted to show you one that wouldn't work, because certain ones over here just are not going to work with this method and certain ones will. so you'll have to go ahead and split test, depending on which sections you're looking for. now let's go ahead and take a look at this page in the editor. so if we come over here to the editor, i'm going to go ahead and open up this test page in the editor and now we can see we have our sections here over on the left. now, one thing you'll notike is that you won't be able to drag and drop this like on the home page, and this is because we manually created this template. so if you want to actually go and change the order of these, you have to actually change the order of the sections here in the code. so if i wanted the map on top of newsletter, i'd have to go ahead and do that and then i'd have to click save. now i would recommend that before you make changes in the code, that you make sure and back up all of your content here that you have- so let's say, you have a bunch of text in here- before you go ahead and move the text section, make sure that you go ahead and actually save this text, like in a separate document or something, just in case sometimes there's a glitch where, when you move the sections around, the content will actually disappear, so you want to make sure you don't actually run into that issue. so this is how you can go ahead and add sections to pretty much any page on your shopify store and, like i said, you can go ahead and look through all these different sections to go ahead and figure out which ones will work, which, in the case these three do and which ones don't work. in the case this one doesn't. and since that one doesn't, i would just go ahead and get rid of it and then click save and if i came over here and refreshed once again, it's gone. if i come over here and refresh on the edi.
