00:00:55 00:00:59 starting is at Google one of the first
00:00:57 00:01:01 places that you're gonna see new trends
00:00:59 00:01:04 and new search data showing up is
00:01:01 00:01:06 actually in the Google autokomplete so
00:01:04 00:01:08 I'm gonna use some random examples that
00:01:06 00:01:11 I'm making up but you want to kind of
00:01:08 00:01:13 utilize this process with whatever your
00:01:11 00:01:14 niche is whether it's cooking or
00:01:13 00:01:18 knitting or whatever that may be
00:01:14 00:01:21 gardening etc so first thing is just how
00:01:18 00:01:23 to write so how to and you'll see right
00:01:21 00:01:25 now how to make a mask is number one and
00:01:23 00:01:29 this is directly reflecting the most
00:01:25 00:01:31 commonly searched phrases right now okay
00:01:29 00:01:34 this wasn't showing how to make a mask
00:01:31 00:01:35 two months ago and you'll notike in the
00:01:34 00:01:38 top right corner I'm not logged in right
00:01:35 00:01:40 now okay so if you're logged in your
00:01:38 00:01:43 search your autokomplete is going to be
00:01:40 00:01:45 adapted to your search behavior to all
00:01:43 00:01:47 the cookies and all of the information
00:01:45 00:01:49 that Google has on you whether you have
00:01:47 00:01:51 a gmail account a YouTube account you're
00:01:49 00:01:54 viewing reading etc behaviors so I
00:01:51 00:01:56 always do this process in a not logged
00:01:54 00:01:58 in browser Google still trying to pick
00:01:56 00:02:00 up where am I located and it's kind of
00:01:58 00:02:01 matching up people in my area so you
00:02:00 00:02:03 could use a VPN if you want to mask that
00:02:01 00:02:06 but we're going kind of more
00:02:03 00:02:08 specifically into the basics now what
00:02:06 00:02:10 we're also seeing on here is how to tie
00:02:08 00:02:12 a tie shows up which is interesting how
00:02:10 00:02:13 to use zoom in one of my past videos

00:02:15 00:02:19 work-at-home trend and teaching people

00:02:34 00:02:38 french toast and coffee at home as well

00:02:38 00:02:42 some data for you but we're gonna go
00:02:40 00:02:44 deeper so the next search parameters are
00:02:42 00:02:46 potentially going to help you find
00:02:44 00:02:48 subsets within your niche about that
00:02:46 00:02:50 your audiences looking for or if you're
00:02:48 00:02:51 just starting with a niche business this
00:02:50 00:02:53 can really clue you in on the niches
00:02:51 00:02:56 that are starting to explode right now
00:02:53 00:02:58 so how to learn is the next one okay so
00:02:56 00:03:00 how to learn Spanish Japanese guitar
00:02:58 00:03:02 interesting so people are sitting around
00:03:00 00:03:04 having more time at home so they're
00:03:02 00:03:06 searching for a guitar but then you can
00:03:04 00:03:08 go through letter by letter so how to
00:03:06 00:03:11 learn a how to learn these are the ones
00:03:08 00:03:15 that come up for a how to learn B okay
00:03:11 00:03:17 see interesting D and so on and so forth
00:03:15 00:03:19 so if you are in the yoga space you
00:03:17 00:03:21 could do how to learn yoga and then
00:03:19 00:03:24 you've got all of these subsets from
00:03:21 00:03:27 yoga so how to learn yoga at home is one
00:03:24 00:03:29 of the most top searched items currently
00:03:27 00:03:31 okay this is the most up-to-date data
00:03:29 00:03:33 that you have so you can kind of see
00:03:31 00:03:35 some of the different ideas so if you're
00:03:33 00:03:38 in the yoga space and you don't have a
00:03:35 00:03:39 headstand or a handstand tutorial it's
00:03:38 00:03:41 kind of showing you that that's what
00:03:39 00:03:44 people are actively looking for and then
00:03:41 00:03:46 you can go a and then you can go B and
00:03:44 00:03:47 then you can go C and this is how you're
00:03:46 00:03:50 literally able to get all of the
00:03:47 00:03:52 different kind of variations and all of
00:03:50 00:03:54 the different most up-to-date search
00:03:52 00:03:56 phrases that your people are searching
00:03:54 00:03:58 for so let's go beyond how to learn yoga
00:03:56 00:04:01 and again this works chess how to learn
00:03:58 00:04:03 chess just opening strategy fast online
00:04:01 00:04:06 reddit Theory etc etc but let's go to
00:04:03 00:04:09 how to start because there's a lot of
00:04:06 00:04:10 people at home who are now looking to
00:04:09 00:04:12 start something new whether it's
00:04:10 00:04:14 starting a garden or whether it's
00:04:12 00:04:16 starting I don't know programming so
00:04:14 00:04:18 interesting there's kind of an idea a
00:04:16 00:04:22 how to start a business a blog a podcast
00:04:18 00:04:25 a YouTube channel B blogging business C
00:04:22 00:04:27 D and so on and so forth so the other
00:04:25 00:04:30 ones would be how to make
00:04:27 00:04:31 is another one and obviously we saw how
00:04:30 00:04:34 to make a mask but these we're gonna get
00:04:31 00:04:35 more specific here how to make slime
00:04:34 00:04:37 that's a big one the kids how to make
00:04:35 00:04:38 sourdough starter people making bread at
00:04:37 00:04:40 home so if you're in the cooking space
00:04:38 00:04:41 and what we're looking for are the
00:04:40 00:04:44 trends and the patterns and if you want
00:04:41 00:04:47 to get specific you just kind of dig
00:04:44 00:04:48 deeper right so if you are in the
00:04:47 00:04:50 cooking space you're just you're looking
00:04:48 00:04:53 for the ideas but so we have how to make
00:04:50 00:04:54 a smoothie pop-up smoothie now you'll
00:04:53 00:04:56 notike how to make a smoothie Bowl how
00:04:54 00:04:57 to make a smoothie without ice how to
00:04:56 00:05:00 make a smoothie without fruit thicker
00:04:57 00:05:01 etc etc so this is allowing we're
00:05:00 00:05:02 essentially seeding Google and we're
00:05:01 00:05:03 telling Google hey I want to learn I
00:05:02 00:05:05 want to know what people are searching
00:05:03 00:05:06 for so you can come up with content
00:05:05 00:05:08 ideas because people are searching for
00:05:06 00:05:09 different things today than they were
00:05:08 00:05:11 two months ago that's the greater idea
00:05:09 00:05:15 here and then the final one is how to
00:05:11 00:05:17 play so there's a lot of people looking
00:05:15 00:05:18 to spend some time cribbage I love
00:05:17 00:05:20 cribbage so cribbage is how to play
00:05:18 00:05:23 cribbage and it's got some confusing
00:05:20 00:05:27 goofy rules to it so this is another way
00:05:23 00:05:29 and obviously you can go a b c d e and
00:05:27 00:05:30 on and on and you can see that it's got
00:05:29 00:05:32 everything from instruments in here to
00:05:30 00:05:34 actual games these are the types of
00:05:32 00:05:37 things people are doing with more time
00:05:34 00:05:39 on their hands you could even go into
00:05:37 00:05:40 like how to teach so you can see that
00:05:39 00:05:43 these are the things that people are
00:05:40 00:05:45 trying to teach others kids how to teach
00:05:43 00:05:47 kids about money about shoes etc if
00:05:45 00:05:48 you're in the mom blogging space okay so
00:05:47 00:05:50 I think we've covered the search
00:05:48 00:05:52 parameter idea from Google and
00:05:50 00:05:54 leveraging autokomplete very very deeply
00:05:52 00:05:57 the next place I want to go to is Google
00:05:54 00:06:00 Trends so let's go to google.com for
00:05:57 00:06:02 sass trends and trends is the next place
00:06:00 00:06:05 and what you get it Google Trends that I
00:06:02 00:06:07 like compared to just using that
00:06:05 00:06:09 autokomplete is you get a little bit of
00:06:07 00:06:10 data going on here and one of the
00:06:09 00:06:13 challenges with keyword research you
00:06:10 00:06:15 know in order to get actual search
00:06:13 00:06:17 volume specifics on how many people per
00:06:15 00:06:19 month are searching this it's always
00:06:17 00:06:21 gonna go down a paid path I've taught
00:06:19 00:06:23 two separate tools within the last year
00:06:21 00:06:26 that were wants free keyword research
00:06:23 00:06:27 tools but then I sent so much traffic I
00:06:26 00:06:28 got one hundred thirty thousand
00:06:27 00:06:30 subscribers almost at this point we give
00:06:28 00:06:32 them the hug of death their costs went
00:06:30 00:06:34 up and they all flipped it over to paid
00:06:32 00:06:36 so what you're gonna learn on Google
00:06:34 00:06:38 Trends is how to understand relativity
00:06:36 00:06:40 between search phrases versus exact
00:06:38 00:06:43 numbers which will give you an
00:06:40 00:06:45 understanding enough to begin to move
00:06:43 00:06:49 forward so let's go in here and let's
00:06:45 00:06:51 type in how to learn chess and I'm just
00:06:49 00:06:52 gonna look at what the search volume is
00:06:51 00:06:54 and I haven't looked at this so now you
00:06:52 00:06:56 can see that currently so the current
00:06:54 00:06:59 line is at the end of the salted line
00:06:56 00:07:02 the dotted line is what Google is
00:06:59 00:07:04 expecting over time in the kind of near
00:07:02 00:07:07 future so you can see that currently
00:07:04 00:07:08 it's not really out of its trend okay so
00:07:07 00:07:11 that's out of 60 and then over here
00:07:08 00:07:13 we're at a 57 pretty close to a 60 and
00:07:11 00:07:17 back here we're at a 60 so currently
00:07:13 00:07:19 it's not really above trend on chess but
00:07:17 00:07:20 you can see that it's looking like it's
00:07:19 00:07:24 getting closer to being out of the trend
00:07:20 00:07:25 so I'm gonna look at guitar here
00:07:24 00:07:27 kind of thinking that maybe there's more
00:07:25 00:07:29 people at home looking on how to play
00:07:27 00:07:30 guitar so now you can see we are out of
00:07:29 00:07:32 the trend at this point and what do I
00:07:30 00:07:35 mean by that so you notike these numbers
00:07:32 00:07:38 on the left we got a 175 50 25 this is
00:07:35 00:07:40 the relativity side so 100 is the most
00:07:38 00:07:43 of all right it's the the the biggest
00:07:40 00:07:45 the most the maximum number 50 would be
00:07:43 00:07:48 in half of that so the fact that this
00:07:45 00:07:50 right here is at 75 and I don't see a 75
00:07:48 00:07:52 this means that the search trend is
00:07:50 00:07:55 indeed going up right now with an
00:07:52 00:08:01 expectation on that dotted line to go up
00:07:55 00:08:05 even higher but now let's go how to grow
00:08:01 00:08:08 vegetables and this is one that I bet so
00:08:05 00:08:11 now you can see not only is the actual
00:08:08 00:08:12 current trend way out of the kind of
00:08:11 00:08:15 normal operating range which I would say
00:08:12 00:08:17 would be below this 25 so it's it's over
00:08:15 00:08:19 doubled from its normal search the
00:08:17 00:08:22 expectation is to go up a massive
00:08:19 00:08:26 massive amount there let's look at how
00:08:22 00:08:29 to learn cribbage here real quick well
00:08:26 00:08:31 okay so there's not that much search
00:08:29 00:08:33 data so this is a great example of what
00:08:31 00:08:35 you see when it's actually not that
00:08:33 00:08:36 large of a search volume kind of a
00:08:35 00:08:38 situation you can see that it really
00:08:36 00:08:40 just says we don't really have enough
00:08:38 00:08:43 data here but what you're looking for
00:08:40 00:08:46 are the big spikes in the data so how to
00:08:43 00:08:48 start a garden I want to look at what
00:08:46 00:08:50 this one looks like and again so we're
00:08:48 00:08:52 massively on the increased side and you
00:08:50 00:08:54 can see in the very short term now let's
00:08:52 00:08:56 go I'm gonna go to my paid
00:08:54 00:08:57 keyword tool real quick so this is the
00:08:56 00:08:59 paid tool I've got videos on this it'll
00:08:57 00:09:01 pop up above and the links will be in

00:09:03 00:09:07 because you get the the search volume
00:09:05 00:09:09 and the difficulty numbers but really
00:09:07 00:09:11 one of the things that I think are is
00:09:09 00:09:12 most interesting is to see how the data
00:09:11 00:09:14 rolls out through the keyword tools
00:09:12 00:09:18 regardless of what you use so it's that

00:09:34 00:09:38 data point here and this is gonna show
00:09:36 00:09:42 you what I mean by the data moves
00:09:38 00:09:45 quickly in these interesting times and
00:09:42 00:09:48 you're gonna get to understand why this
00:09:45 00:09:50 keyword tool may take upwards of a year
00:09:48 00:09:51 or more to really show the difference in
00:09:50 00:09:54 the data and you can see right here so
00:09:51 00:09:55 this graph now all these keyword tools
00:09:54 00:09:57 whether using this one or long tail or
00:09:55 00:10:00 whatever keyword tool you're using they
00:09:57 00:10:01 generally are buying data from
00:10:00 00:10:03 third-party sources that's why they're
00:10:01 00:10:05 paid tools they actually have to buy
00:10:03 00:10:07 through the API but there's a delay so
00:10:05 00:10:10 there's usually at least a month delay
00:10:07 00:10:12 you can see here that February of 2020
00:10:10 00:10:14 is the most recent data that we have
00:10:12 00:10:17 well I'll be honest the lots changed
00:10:14 00:10:19 since February since January of 2020 in
00:10:17 00:10:21 the world of search and you can see that
00:10:19 00:10:24 not being reflected you can tell there's
00:10:21 00:10:25 seasonality here right obviously every
00:10:24 00:10:27 summer more people search for gardening
00:10:25 00:10:29 but we're so we're going into a normal
00:10:27 00:10:32 seasonality but it potentially is gonna
00:10:29 00:10:34 take twelve months for this spike that
00:10:32 00:10:36 we're seeing to get averaged out because
00:10:34 00:10:38 these numbers here the actual search
00:10:36 00:10:41 volume is generally going to be an
00:10:38 00:10:44 average of the last twelve months okay
00:10:41 00:10:46 well if you get one anomalous month in
00:10:44 00:10:49 an average of twelve months it might
00:10:46 00:10:51 move the needle by 8% so you might see
00:10:49 00:10:53 an 8% fluctuation in your numbers when
00:10:51 00:10:55 this registers which is in another month
00:10:53 00:10:57 or two but when you're looking over here
00:10:55 00:11:00 this is significantly greater than an
00:10:57 00:11:02 eight percent increase okay this is the
00:11:00 00:11:05 key point I want you to take away is
00:11:02 00:11:07 that there is a trickle-down process
00:11:05 00:11:07 there's a filtering gound process from
00:11:07 00:11:09 the
00:11:07 00:11:11 data the real-world active data that's
00:11:09 00:11:13 going on right now that shows up an
00:11:11 00:11:15 autokomplete and it shows up in Google
00:11:13 00:11:18 Trends and then by the time it starts to
00:11:15 00:11:20 go into these other keyword tools this
00:11:18 00:11:22 is where you really start to understand
00:11:20 00:11:25 you know months and years later what
00:11:22 00:11:28 that trend does over time now I still
00:11:25 00:11:31 use this tool I think these tools are
00:11:28 00:11:32 still very very important but if you are
00:11:31 00:11:34 a business owner a content creator and
00:11:32 00:11:36 you're someone right now who's like I
00:11:34 00:11:38 need to make the most relevant content
00:11:36 00:11:39 to my people right now because my people
00:11:38 00:11:41 are at home they're searching for
00:11:39 00:11:42 different things there they're behaving
00:11:41 00:11:45 differently they're doing different
00:11:42 00:11:47 things and you want to honor that and
00:11:45 00:11:49 you want to give them what they're
00:11:47 00:11:51 looking for I wouldn't use this tool
00:11:49 00:11:53 today I would be looking more on the
00:11:51 00:11:55 autokomplete side of things and I would
00:11:53 00:11:59 be looking more on Google Trends now I
00:11:55 00:12:01 have a deeper dive video on both this

00:12:03 00:12:08 lowest difficulty phrases in your niche
