MODE Shopify Premium Theme: Video Sections

In this video tutorial, we will cover all the sections that allow you to use auto-playing or press-to-play videos in the theme mode. Currently, there are four sections that support the ability to have videos.

Sections Supporting Video:

1. Normal Video Section - You can use mp4 files, YouTube, or Vimeo videos. Add a cover image and text to display over the video.

2. Background Video Section - The video is played on mute and auto-plays when people arrive. Add a placeholder image to mask any loading issues.

3. Media with Text Section - You can add either an image or a video and choose to auto-play or not. Add text and buttons to link to other videos or pages.

4. Custom Content Section - Ideal for displaying a gallery of videos.

- Use horizontal-style videos for the video section.

- Add a placeholder image to the background video section.

- Keep in mind that auto-playing videos may not work on low power mode devices.

- Use the media with text section for square or portrait-style videos.

- Control the aspect ratio of your video in the media with text section.

- Customize the layout style of your text in the video section.

- Add cover images to all video sections.

With these tips and sections supporting videos, you can make your website more dynamic and engaging. Remember to consider the type of video you want to display and choose the appropriate section. Add text, buttons, and cover images to make your video sections more visually appealing. Happy video making!

How to Install Shopify Theme

Hey guys, it's Lata from Template Monster. Today, I'm going to show you how to install Shopify themes. Specifically, we'll be using the Pet Shop template created by Zamasu.

Getting Started:

First things first, you'll need to create an account at Shopify.com. Since Shopify is a self-hosted e-commerce platform, you'll need an account to get started. I've already created a free trial account, but you can choose one of their paid plans if you prefer.

Installing the Theme:

Now that you have your Shopify account, let's check out our theme package. Inside the downloaded zip file, you'll find a screenshots folder, a sources folder, and our theme zip file. We need to upload the theme zip file in the Shopify admin panel. To do this, navigate to the Online Store Themes section and upload the theme zip file. While it's uploading, it's important to note that you won't see the images right after installation. This is because in old themes, all images were assigned to their locations in theme files, which made it difficult to replace them. Now, images can be changed directly in the customizer.

Publishing the Theme:

Once the theme is uploaded, we can publish it. You can also do this later and edit the theme in preview. After publishing, it's important to refresh the page to see the changes.

Customizing the Theme:

Now, let's upload a banner image to illustrate how it works. Navigate to the customizer and upload the image to the banner section. It's important to note that Shopify offers three images that you can choose from. You can also change the shape of the banner to your liking.

Importing the Product Catalog:

After installation, you'll notice that the product catalog is not available. This is not an issue, as there is no option to install it with a template right away. However, some authors add a file with the product catalog to the sources folder, which you can import in the products section. Simply navigate to the Products menu, select Import, and choose the products file from the sources folder.

That's it for today's tutorial on how to install Shopify themes. I hope you found this video helpful. If you're looking for ready-made Shopify themes to enhance your productivity and workflow, consider going to the Template Monster digital marketplace. Thanks for watching!

How to Install a Shopify Theme Using a Zip File

If you've recently purchased a Shopify theme from somewhere other than Shopify, you likely received a zip file with your purchase. In order to use your new Shopify theme, you'll need to upload that zip file into your Shopify admin. Here's how:

1. Head on over to Online Store in the left-hand navigation of your Shopify admin.

2. By default, you will be taken to the Themes page.

3. If you scroll down the page just a little bit to the Theme Library area, you'll see that you have a few options:

- Explore free themes, which is basically going through all of the free themes that Shopify has to offer.

- Visit the theme store where you can browse through free and paid Shopify themes.

4. If you've purchased a premium Shopify theme, you can upload it by clicking on the Upload Theme button and browsing through your file folders to upload the zip file.

5. Once you see the zip file, click on Upload File.

6. Now your zip file has been uploaded, but that's not the last step. You need to now publish the theme so that it shows up on your estore.

7. Hover over and click on Actions.

8. You can preview this new theme or you can just publish it right away.

9. Click Publish and it will ask, Are you sure you want to publish this new theme? It will replace your current theme.

10. Click Publish.

11. And there you can see the new theme has been installed and published.

12. If you head on back to your store and refresh the page, you'll now see the new theme has been installed and it's ready to go.

Uploading and installing a new Shopify theme is a straightforward process, and it's an important step in customizing your estore. By following these simple steps, you can give your Shopify store a new look and feel, and provide your customers with a better shopping experience.

Shopify Tutorial: Size Chart Tutorial Guide (2022)

Hello everyone and welcome to the video! My name is Mitch and I'm part of the content creation team here at Clean Canvas. Today, I'm going to show you a tutorial about how to set up the size chart on your store. I'm going through it from start to finish on my test store, so if you follow along, hopefully you'll have no issues. And I'll be able to point out any key parts that you might find difficult with this setup. If you have any questions after watching the video, just drop them below. Hopefully, we'll be able to respond and help you get your store elevated to a higher level and your customers will just enjoy the experience even more.

- Create a size chart page:

The first thing we're going to want to do is to create a size chart page. This is going to tell our theme where to show from. We're going to go to Online Store, click Pages, and add our first one. We're going to call it Size Chart. We have three options - insert an image, insert a table, or type it out. I prefer using images because I think they're a lot clearer.

- Insert image and edit the size:

If you click Insert Image, these are all the images you've added to your store over time. If you don't have it here, just click Upload File. Now, my image size is not a square, it's more of a rectangle, so Shopify is trying to recommend me to use Large. But I want to show you a feature that maybe a lot of people aren't aware of. If you double-click on an image, you get a feature that allows you to edit the sizes. This will pop up and it has the proportions that it set itself to after I clicked Insert Image. But if I want to set it back to my original, I'll just go here and click Original.

- Set up the size chart on your store:

Now that we have our size chart page, we're going to head over to the theme section and click on Customize Theme. For the purposes of the demo, I'm going to use Symmetry. We're going to find the option for our size chart at the very bottom here. We're going to want to put Size in here. But if I put size in with a lowercase s, it's not going to show. We said it that it matches the exact characters, capitals and all.

- Select page and adjust the size:

Now we're going to select the page and click on Size Chart. We're going to adjust the size from there by clicking on the image and grabbing the corner. Once we do that, we're going to click Save and go back to the Customize Theme section. We're going to click Save again to see the changes.

Thanks for watching, and I hope this tutorial was able to help you set up your size chart on your website. If you're still unsure about anything, just drop a comment below in the comment section. We will also have documentation on size chart linked below in description so you can also check out that page if you need some added help. And we will be releasing more content on YouTube going forward about our theme, so I would suggest subscribing to the channel and giving us a like. Again, thank you very much for watching, and I hope you have yourselves a great day.
