00:00:24 00:00:28 term just look up pool float see some
00:00:26 00:00:30 feel in that summer vibe right now so
00:00:28 00:00:33 full floats and you're gonna notike
00:00:30 00:00:34 something so when you scroll down you're
00:00:33 00:00:35 gonna see all these listings and
00:00:34 00:00:39 everything but if you look the first
00:00:35 00:00:42 three have this sponsored you know to
00:00:39 00:00:44 sponsor little word right here so what
00:00:42 00:00:47 that means is these people these people
00:00:44 00:00:48 are bidding on this search term pull
00:00:47 00:00:51 float so what they're doing is they're
00:00:48 00:00:53 bidding on that search term to be able
00:00:51 00:00:56 to you know rank on page 1 not rank but
00:00:53 00:00:58 have their listing available on page 1
00:00:56 00:01:00 for those person that's viewing that
00:00:58 00:01:01 search terms then possibly purchase
00:01:00 00:01:05 their products so if I was to go and
00:01:01 00:01:08 click this listing so I clicked your
00:01:05 00:01:10 listing I just cost that brand or that
00:01:08 00:01:11 company whatever they're bidding on that
00:01:10 00:01:13 search term so if they're bidding you
00:01:11 00:01:15 know they have a dollar bid for the word
00:01:13 00:01:17 pool floats now pool floats is extremely
00:01:15 00:01:19 broad so it's probably like three or
00:01:17 00:01:22 four dollars per click I just cost them
00:01:19 00:01:24 whatever you know there they were
00:01:22 00:01:26 bidding on that search term now let's
00:01:24 00:01:29 just say if I was to go and you know
00:01:26 00:01:32 purchase this product they just created
00:01:29 00:01:34 a sail through that keyword now maybe if
00:01:32 00:01:35 I was the only person to click through
00:01:34 00:01:37 it and bought their listing obviously
00:01:35 00:01:39 they'd probably make some money but you
00:01:37 00:01:40 know if it took maybe five or six people
00:01:39 00:01:42 to click through there and they were
00:01:40 00:01:43 losing you know $3.00 per click let's
00:01:42 00:01:45 just say they spent you know fifteen
00:01:43 00:01:47 dollars in advertising you know they're
00:01:45 00:01:49 only making let's just say you know a
00:01:47 00:01:51 ten dollar profit on this item they lost
00:01:49 00:01:53 five dollars but they created an
00:01:51 00:01:55 additional sale you know for this item
00:01:53 00:01:58 now realistikally you want to be able to
00:01:55 00:01:59 at least break even or be profitable but
00:01:58 00:02:01 when it comes to you know running ads at
00:01:59 00:02:04 the beginning you know low reviews I
00:02:01 00:02:06 mean this listing you know has I mean it
00:02:04 00:02:08 doesn't even have a description you know
00:02:06 00:02:10 the bullet points aren't really there
00:02:08 00:02:12 I'm it's decent no decent title pictures
00:02:10 00:02:13 and stuff like that but the reason you
00:02:12 00:02:14 do these sir
00:02:13 00:02:16 terms is you want to create additional
00:02:14 00:02:19 sales through that search term so this
00:02:16 00:02:21 person wants to rank organically on page
00:02:19 00:02:22 one for that search term the people that
00:02:21 00:02:24 are making the big money are these
00:02:22 00:02:27 people right here they're not having to
00:02:24 00:02:29 pay a cent to be on page one further
00:02:27 00:02:30 search term pull floats but if you were
00:02:29 00:02:32 to just enter the market now you know
00:02:30 00:02:35 let's just say you want to sell this
00:02:32 00:02:37 Swan float and you just enter the market
00:02:35 00:02:39 you're gonna be on page like two hundred
00:02:37 00:02:41 four pool floats the only way the only
00:02:39 00:02:43 way you can be able to reach there is by
00:02:41 00:02:45 paid advertising Amazon's pay-per-click
00:02:43 00:02:47 advertising platform you're not just
00:02:45 00:02:50 randomly people aren't gonna go through
00:02:47 00:02:51 200 pages through the pool float you
00:02:50 00:02:54 know search term and go and purchase
00:02:51 00:02:55 your listing tons and tons of times now
00:02:54 00:02:57 you have to run advertising to build you
00:02:55 00:02:59 know put your listing in front of buyers
00:02:57 00:03:00 that are wanting to purchase pool floats
00:02:59 00:03:03 or wanting to purchase your product
00:03:00 00:03:04 whatever that search term is and create
00:03:03 00:03:06 additional sales you know through that
00:03:04 00:03:09 keyword and what's gonna happen over
00:03:06 00:03:10 time is once you're creating sales you
00:03:09 00:03:11 know you start getting a couple
00:03:10 00:03:14 different sales you know through that
00:03:11 00:03:16 search term instead of being on page you
00:03:14 00:03:19 know 200 you're gonna be on page 100 and
00:03:16 00:03:20 then you're gonna go 500 you know 20
00:03:19 00:03:22 then 10 and they need to start working
00:03:20 00:03:24 away bring anybody on page 3 and giving
00:03:22 00:03:26 up page 2 and page 1 then before you
00:03:24 00:03:29 know it you'll be running advertising
00:03:26 00:03:30 and you're gonna be organically on page
00:03:29 00:03:32 1 for that search term which means
00:03:30 00:03:33 you're going to be getting basically
00:03:32 00:03:36 free sales through that search term for
00:03:33 00:03:38 your listing now a big thing about
00:03:36 00:03:40 advertising is that people or just you
00:03:38 00:03:42 know just too scared to do it you know
00:03:40 00:03:44 they don't want invest the time or the
00:03:42 00:03:45 money into learning it so you know when
00:03:44 00:03:47 it comes to new sellers you know the
00:03:45 00:03:49 people that really run Amazon are the
00:03:47 00:03:50 people that run advertising the people
00:03:49 00:03:52 like you know launch a product and
00:03:50 00:03:54 within you know two or three weeks have
00:03:52 00:03:56 their product ranked organically on page
00:03:54 00:03:59 one for the more competitive search
00:03:56 00:04:01 terms for their product now the question
00:03:59 00:04:04 is what strategies should you be using
00:04:01 00:04:05 when advertising on Amazon I don't have
00:04:04 00:04:06 my advertising account pulled up right
00:04:05 00:04:08 now because I don't have to go through
00:04:06 00:04:10 and blur out all my personal information
00:04:08 00:04:13 but basically there's two different
00:04:10 00:04:14 campaigns that you can select I'm when
00:04:13 00:04:16 running your advertising there's what is
00:04:14 00:04:20 known as the automatik campaign in the
00:04:16 00:04:22 manual so on the automatik campaign you
00:04:20 00:04:24 don't have to provide any search terms
00:04:22 00:04:26 to start running ads for basically
00:04:24 00:04:27 Amazon is going to do that for you so
00:04:26 00:04:28 you know you just
00:04:27 00:04:31 like what product you want to run ads
00:04:28 00:04:32 for and Amazon is then gonna run search
00:04:31 00:04:34 terms based off you know their
00:04:32 00:04:35 preferences what they think is gonna do
00:04:34 00:04:37 best and they're gonna start running the
00:04:35 00:04:39 ads for you so you can kind of track it
00:04:37 00:04:42 over time same thing goes for the manual
00:04:39 00:04:44 except for the manual you have to enter
00:04:42 00:04:47 you have to you know copy and paste in
00:04:44 00:04:48 the search terms that you want to so so
00:04:47 00:04:50 usually what I do is when I first
00:04:48 00:04:52 launched a product you know I'll do both
00:04:50 00:04:54 I'll do you know search terms that I've
00:04:52 00:04:56 gathered know for either through jungle
00:04:54 00:04:57 Scout or merchant word so if I outsource
00:04:56 00:04:59 someone to do it for me you know I'll
00:04:57 00:05:01 make a whole manual campaign with words
00:04:59 00:05:03 I want to start you know ranking for I
00:05:01 00:05:05 want to start making sales for and then
00:05:03 00:05:07 I'll have Amazon you know in another
00:05:05 00:05:09 campaign and automatik campaign you know
00:05:07 00:05:10 run ads for me to see if they're you
00:05:09 00:05:12 know there's any search terms that
00:05:10 00:05:14 Amazon is making sales for from my
00:05:12 00:05:16 product you know I don't that I don't
00:05:14 00:05:19 have them in my manual campaign and when
00:05:16 00:05:21 it comes to budgeting usually I started
00:05:19 00:05:23 anywhere from you know five to ten
00:05:21 00:05:24 dollars a day you know per campaign I'll
00:05:23 00:05:26 run it for seven days so I'll run it for
00:05:24 00:05:29 a week and then I'll go through and I'll
00:05:26 00:05:31 pull down you know my Excel spreadsheet
00:05:29 00:05:33 and I'll see you know what search terms
00:05:31 00:05:34 were you know converting you know if I
00:05:33 00:05:36 was paying you know a dollar per click
00:05:34 00:05:38 on this one was I profitable was I not
00:05:36 00:05:41 profitable and basically you want to do
00:05:38 00:05:43 is just over time you want to bid on all
00:05:41 00:05:44 all different search terms that you
00:05:43 00:05:46 could possibly create sells for for your
00:05:44 00:05:48 product and you just want to slowly go
00:05:46 00:05:49 through and pick through the ones that
00:05:48 00:05:51 you know that are profitable the ones
00:05:49 00:05:53 that are creating you know profitable
00:05:51 00:05:54 sales you know breaking even you want to
00:05:53 00:05:56 go put those into you - you know like
00:05:54 00:05:58 another another campaign you know and
00:05:56 00:05:59 bid higher on those because you know
00:05:58 00:06:02 you're making money and you're making a
00:05:59 00:06:03 sells through that search term maybe
00:06:02 00:06:05 there's other search terms for your
00:06:03 00:06:07 product where you know you're you're not
00:06:05 00:06:08 making any sales you know you're losing
00:06:07 00:06:10 money on each sale if you are making
00:06:08 00:06:13 sales and you can maybe either just you
00:06:10 00:06:15 know bid less on that search term or you
00:06:13 00:06:17 can just discontinue that search term
00:06:15 00:06:19 now another big question people have is
00:06:17 00:06:21 do you need to be profitable and really
00:06:19 00:06:23 that's all up to you sometimes you know
00:06:21 00:06:25 when it comes to ranking a product
00:06:23 00:06:27 you're gonna lose money on advertising
00:06:25 00:06:29 it's just a way of life it's a way of
00:06:27 00:06:31 ranking you know in a competitive space
00:06:29 00:06:32 within a competitive search term to be
00:06:31 00:06:34 able to get your product at page once
00:06:32 00:06:35 even if you lose you know 100 200
00:06:34 00:06:38 dollars on that search term but if you
00:06:35 00:06:41 can get organically you know on page 1
00:06:38 00:06:42 for that search term it's gonna be well
00:06:41 00:06:44 with the money that you lost in the you
00:06:42 00:06:46 know in upfront in the beginning you
00:06:44 00:06:48 know getting your product to page one
00:06:46 00:06:49 because once you're on page one those
00:06:48 00:06:51 sales are going to be free they're gonna
00:06:49 00:06:52 be organic straight through that search
00:06:51 00:06:54 terms you're gonna be able to stay on
00:06:52 00:06:56 page one and still create really really
00:06:54 00:06:58 profitable sales so that's really all up
00:06:56 00:07:00 to you and when it comes down to it a
00:06:58 00:07:03 lot of people don't want to invest the
00:07:00 00:07:05 money or the time in learning you know
00:07:03 00:07:06 paid advertising you know they're fine
00:07:05 00:07:07 being on page two or three or maybe
00:07:06 00:07:09 trying to sneak in a page one
00:07:07 00:07:12 organically it just doesn't happen very
00:07:09 00:07:14 often it happens it has happened to me
00:07:12 00:07:16 but if I run paid advertising you know
00:07:14 00:07:18 you'll get there a lot quicker and
00:07:16 00:07:20 you'll be able to especially for you
00:07:18 00:07:21 know more broad search terms for your
00:07:20 00:07:23 product are gonna be a lot more
00:07:21 00:07:26 competitive you can be able to rank you
00:07:23 00:07:28 know page one a lot faster so if you do
00:07:26 00:07:30 decide to get into you know advertising
00:07:28 00:07:32 on Amazon you're gonna reach a point
00:07:30 00:07:33 where you can do that will find you know
00:07:32 00:07:35 profitable you know search terms for
00:07:33 00:07:36 your product there's a few different
00:07:35 00:07:38 ways that you can do this you can go to
00:07:36 00:07:40 a website like merchant words or jungle
00:07:38 00:07:43 Scott and you'll you'll just type in you
00:07:40 00:07:45 know the phrase so pool floats and
00:07:43 00:07:47 former chat words you Argonaut to sign
00:07:45 00:07:49 up I currently don't use merchant words
00:07:47 00:07:51 although a lot of people use merchant
00:07:49 00:07:52 words and have a great success but this
00:07:51 00:07:54 is just a website that you can use you
00:07:52 00:07:56 know see all these you know different
00:07:54 00:07:57 ranks and stuff like that but the one I
00:07:56 00:07:59 usually use is you know the keyword
00:07:57 00:08:02 scout that you know jungle Scout just
00:07:59 00:08:04 launched a few weeks ago and you can go
00:08:02 00:08:06 through and basically go through you can
00:08:04 00:08:07 either copy like the title or type in
00:08:06 00:08:11 pool floats buyers just like the copy
00:08:07 00:08:16 and Aysen of the product right here and
00:08:11 00:08:18 copy that back in here and search and
00:08:16 00:08:19 then to pull down all these you know
00:08:18 00:08:23 recommended search terms that I could
00:08:19 00:08:25 use so no pool floats pull toys you know
00:08:23 00:08:28 floaties floaties for adults you know
00:08:25 00:08:30 kids pool toys you know summer you know
00:08:28 00:08:32 animal pool floats all those search
00:08:30 00:08:35 terms you could be using to make sales
00:08:32 00:08:36 for this product so what you can do is
00:08:35 00:08:38 you can come through here and you know
00:08:36 00:08:39 you can copy all these you can put them
00:08:38 00:08:41 into a manual campaign or if you're
00:08:39 00:08:43 running an automatik campaign and Amazon
00:08:41 00:08:45 is you know I'm doing the advertising
00:08:43 00:08:47 for you you know after seven days now
00:08:45 00:08:49 run a search term report and see you
00:08:47 00:08:51 know what search terms are making sales
00:08:49 00:08:53 which ones are gonna be profitable and
00:08:51 00:08:54 then you can take those from the autumn
00:08:53 00:08:55 autumn
00:08:54 00:08:57 campaign and then put them in your
00:08:55 00:08:59 manual campaign and you know bid a lot
00:08:57 00:09:00 higher cuz you know you're making sales
00:08:59 00:09:02 you're ranking a lot better for that
00:09:00 00:09:05 product you know its profitable or even
00:09:02 00:09:07 breaking even on that product so when it
00:09:05 00:09:09 comes to scaling your Amazon business
00:09:07 00:09:11 and ranking your products to page one
00:09:09 00:09:13 the best and most convenient and
00:09:11 00:09:16 efficient ways to run paid advertising
00:09:13 00:09:17 yes you're gonna have to invest time yes
00:09:16 00:09:18 you're gonna have to invest money and
00:09:17 00:09:21 you might even lose some money up front
00:09:18 00:09:24 but the long-term benefit of getting
00:09:21 00:09:26 your product quickly ranked to page one
00:09:24 00:09:29 for you know search terms that you want
00:09:26 00:09:31 to rank for it's gonna be extremely
00:09:29 00:09:33 extremely profitable and I mean sure
00:09:31 00:09:35 every once in a while you can maybe
00:09:33 00:09:37 somehow get lucky or get into the market
00:09:35 00:09:38 early in your product somehow get to
00:09:37 00:09:40 page one you know rank page one without
00:09:38 00:09:42 having to run advertising but if it is
00:09:40 00:09:44 somewhat of a popular product you know a
00:09:42 00:09:45 certain search term is gonna be more
00:09:44 00:09:48 popular than others you're gonna have to
00:09:45 00:09:50 run paid advertising and personally I
00:09:48 00:09:52 think it's you know I think it's an
00:09:50 00:09:53 advantage to those that know how to run
00:09:52 00:09:55 paid advertising because you know a lot
00:09:53 00:09:57 of people like I always mention probably
00:09:55 00:09:58 like for the third time this video you
00:09:57 00:10:00 know probably seventy five percent of
00:09:58 00:10:02 people don't run paid advertising on
00:10:00 00:10:04 Amazon so that already eliminates a
00:10:02 00:10:07 giant portion of your competition for
00:10:04 00:10:09 your product and the other 25% of that
00:10:07 00:10:10 twenty five percent probably 50 percent
00:10:09 00:10:12 know how to actually run paid
00:10:10 00:10:14 advertising properly the other 50% are
00:10:12 00:10:17 still trying to figure it out but still
00:10:14 00:10:19 I just highly recommend that you you try
00:10:17 00:10:20 paid advertising you know you if you
00:10:19 00:10:22 don't have a lot of money to invest you
00:10:20 00:10:24 know just leave a budget of ten to
00:10:22 00:10:25 fifteen dollars but in start collecting
00:10:24 00:10:27 data for your product you know start
00:10:25 00:10:28 finding of search terms of profitable
00:10:27 00:10:30 ones you know there's a search term that
00:10:28 00:10:32 you spend you know twenty thirty forty
00:10:30 00:10:34 dollars on you haven't created any sales
00:10:32 00:10:35 eliminate that search term and you won't
00:10:34 00:10:37 lose any money anymore but maybe there's
00:10:35 00:10:39 another search term where you know you
00:10:37 00:10:40 invested you know twenty dollars in that
00:10:39 00:10:42 search term I mean you made you know
00:10:40 00:10:44 five six ten sales and that product will
00:10:42 00:10:45 just start bidding higher instead of a
00:10:44 00:10:47 dollar but a dollar fifty or two dollars
00:10:45 00:10:48 you just keep bidding higher and what
00:10:47 00:10:51 you'll see over time is that your
00:10:48 00:10:52 product instead of ranking out page 200
00:10:51 00:10:55 or page 20 for a search term it's gonna
00:10:52 00:10:57 start ranking up and the goal is to get
00:10:55 00:10:58 to page 1 because once you're on page 1
00:10:57 00:11:00 you're going to be getting organic sales
00:10:58 00:11:02 under that search term and it's gonna be
00:11:00 00:11:04 making a lot of money in return you can
00:11:02 00:11:06 still keep running paid advertising you
00:11:04 00:11:08 know for that search term even if you're
00:11:06 00:11:11 on page one organically but you're still
00:11:08 00:11:13 profitably you know I'm creating sales
00:11:11 00:11:14 through that keyword advertising you
00:11:13 00:11:16 just have bold I mean it's like
00:11:14 00:11:18 two-for-one and you have it paid
00:11:16 00:11:19 advertising at the top then you're still
00:11:18 00:11:21 ranked on the page for gonna have a lot
00:11:19 00:11:23 better chance of you know converting
00:11:21 00:11:29 that viewer into purchasing your product
00:11:23 00:11:31 your product listing anyways that's it
00:11:29 00:11:33 for this video hopefully I simplified
00:11:31 00:11:35 the process somewhat for you guys know
00:11:33 00:11:37 kind of going over you know what exactly
00:11:35 00:11:39 Amazon advertising is you know what it
00:11:37 00:11:41 looks like on Amazon's you know you know
00:11:39 00:11:44 have your product actually you know for
00:11:41 00:11:45 sale advertised on Amazon you know where
00:11:44 00:11:47 it is on the screen and everything like
00:11:45 00:11:49 that and hopefully I'm motivating you to
00:11:47 00:11:53 you know take action you know even if
00:11:49 00:11:55 it's $10 a day $15 a day just just try
00:11:53 00:11:57 it just learn learn the process and over
00:11:55 00:11:58 time you'll be able to scale your
00:11:57 00:12:01 business to amounts you never thought
00:11:58 00:12:02 you could get but that's it for this
