The Secret to keeping PERFECT Shopify Inventory 2021

Hey there! In this video, I'm going to teach you how to effectively keep track of your inventory in your Shopify store. We'll cover everything from the basics of inventory management to setting up bundles within your store. So, let's get started!

- In this video, I will be going over how to keep track of your inventory in your Shopify store.

- We'll cover the basics, such as how to deduct inventory when making sales, adding inventory, and setting up bundles.

- I'll also reveal the application I use for bundling in my own store.

How to Keep Track of Inventory:

- To see your inventory in Shopify, go to the product listing and look for the quantity available section.

- Make sure to track individual SKUs for all items in your store.

- Decide whether or not you want to sell out of stock and adjust the settings accordingly.

- Remember that Shopify deducts inventory in real-time, so if a customer returns an item, make sure to restock it on the back-end.

Setting Up Bundles:

- Bundling is a great way to add value to your listings and sell more products.

- To set up bundles, make sure to have different SKUs for each variation of your product.

- However, Shopify doesn't recognize bundles as the same product, so it's important to use an application like Sum Tracker to keep inventory levels accurate.

- With Sum Tracker, you can sync different stores together and control your inventory levels all in one place.

- Keeping track of your inventory in Shopify is crucial to the success of your online store.

3 Ways to Show Variant SKU on Product Pages - Shopify 2.0 Dawn Theme

Hey there, if you're running a store where customers need to know the SKU number of your products, then this article is for you. Unfortunately, many Shopify themes don't have this feature built-in, but don't worry, it's easy enough to add it yourself. In this article, we'll go over a few different methods for displaying the SKU number on your product page, depending on whether your product has variants or not.

## Methods for Displaying SKU Numbers on Shopify Products

### Method 1: Products without Variants

If your product doesn't have variants like size or color, then displaying the SKU number is super easy. We'll be using the custom liquid block type, which is available on all Shopify 2.0 themes. Here's how to do it:

1. Open up the code editor and the theme customizer.

2. Add a custom liquid block to the product page, and move it to where you want the SKU number to appear (usually under the title).

3. Add the following code inside the custom liquid block: `{% if product.selected_or_first_available_variant.sku != blank %}

SKU: {{ product.selected_or_first_available_variant.sku }}

{% endif %}`

4. Save your changes and preview the product page to see the SKU number in action!

### Method 2: Products with Variants (Option 1)

If your product has variants, then we have a couple of different options for displaying the SKU number. The first method is for products with a single SKU number, regardless of the variant. Here's how to do it:

1. Follow the same steps as in Method 1, but instead of using the if statement, simply use this code: `

SKU: {{ product.variants.first.sku }}

`

2. Save your changes and preview the product page to see the SKU number in action!

### Method 3: Products with Variants (Option 2)

If your product has multiple variants, then we'll need a slightly more complex solution. We'll be creating a custom block type and using liquid code to output the SKU number. Here's how to do it:

1. Add a new block type by going to Online Store > Themes > Actions > Edit Code > Snippets > Add a new snippet. Name it whatever you like (e.g. SKU block) and add this code: `

SKU:

`

2. Open up the product.liquid template and find the line of code that outputs the product's title (usually around line 13). Add this code right below it: `{% include 'sku-block' %}`

3. Save your changes and go back to the custom block type you created in step 1. Add this code to the Additional JavaScript field:

```
$(document).ready(function() {
var variants = {{ product.variants | json }};
var skuContainer = $('.sku-value');
var sku = '';
$('.product-form__variants').on('change', function() {
var variantId = $(this).val();
$.each(variants, function(index, value) {
if (value.id == variantId) {
sku = value.sku;
return false;
}
});
skuContainer.text(sku);
});
});
```

4. Save your changes and preview the product page to see the SKU number in action! Whenever the customer selects a different variant, the SKU number will update accordingly.

### Conclusion

There you have it, three different methods for displaying SKU numbers on your Shopify products. Depending on your store's requirements and theme, you may find one method easier or more suitable than the others. But with a little bit of liquid code and some customization, you'll be able to give your customers the information they need to make informed purchases.
