Breaking Down My Wholesale Dropshipping Business | What is Wholesale Dropshipping?

Business Model:

My business model is sourcing from wholesale suppliers. There are different types of suppliers that I will source from. Mainly, I work with brands and importers. Brands make their own product or get it from China and then they slap their logo on it. I will be a representative or an authorized reseller for these brands and then resell their products onto Amazon or onto any marketplace that they allow. Importers have the products made overseas and then they just sell the products to other businesses.


Most of the companies that I work with are sourced via dropshipping. This is where I don't house any of the inventory. Rather, when I make a sale, I send the information over to my supplier and my supplier ships it out to my customer. Over the years, I've slowly been growing more towards buying in bulk and more specifically FBA.

Private Label:

Private label is different than dropshipping or wholesale because I'm going to be creating a product from scratch or more or less what I do is I source from all these wholesale suppliers and I see what products are doing well.

Sales Channels:

I currently sell on Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Walmart, my own website, and smaller marketplaces like Bonanza, Mercari, Poshmark, etc.

Software and Logistics:

For software, you're going to want a good omni-channel software that can import your items correctly, keep track of in and out of stock, push out the items to the channels that you are selling on, and do auto ordering. For accounting, I use Quickbooks as well as Webagility. The last component is logistics and this is going to be things like warehouse, shipping, having employees, and assistance.

Running a wholesale dropshipping business is not easy, but it's something that I really want to grow. By working with wholesale suppliers, I'm building relationships for the long term.
