00:02:07 00:02:11 yourself okay so the first thing that we
00:02:10 00:02:12 need to tok about and this one's going
00:02:11 00:02:13 to be going up to those of you that are
00:02:12 00:02:15 just getting
00:02:13 00:02:17 started and trust me guys I've made this
00:02:15 00:02:19 mistake so many times I've been in
00:02:17 00:02:21 e-commerce and online marketing now for
00:02:19 00:02:23 like 11 years I'm an old man in this
00:02:21 00:02:26 game at this point and I'm telling you
00:02:23 00:02:29 the first five six years of my online
00:02:26 00:02:31 marketing career I struggled I was
00:02:29 00:02:33 working full time working on online all
00:02:31 00:02:34 night on my online businesses and
00:02:33 00:02:37 nothing seemed to stik I made sales
00:02:34 00:02:39 fantastik but it wasn't enough to be
00:02:37 00:02:40 able to quit my job and do the things
00:02:39 00:02:42 that I want to do and really just
00:02:40 00:02:44 sustain my own life right that's really
00:02:42 00:02:45 always was my goal the goal was an
00:02:44 00:02:46 entrepreneur just be able to wake up in
00:02:45 00:02:48 the morning and do what I want to write
00:02:46 00:02:51 and work for myself that's always been a
00:02:48 00:02:53 goal of mine okay now the reason I that
00:02:51 00:02:55 took so long for me to get and I wish
00:02:53 00:02:57 somebody was telling me this back then
00:02:55 00:03:00 is that you can't start a business that
00:02:57 00:03:01 you are not passionate about you cannot
00:03:00 00:03:03 start a business that you can't at least
00:03:01 00:03:06 get passionate about now you can get
00:03:03 00:03:08 passionate about the business aspects of
00:03:06 00:03:09 your business right I all of us if
00:03:08 00:03:11 you're watching this right now you're
00:03:09 00:03:14 probably passionate about growing
00:03:11 00:03:15 businesses but in furthermore you need
00:03:14 00:03:17 to be passionate about your customers
00:03:15 00:03:19 right you need to be passionate about
00:03:17 00:03:21 your customers what do they want right
00:03:19 00:03:25 and you need to be passionate about
00:03:21 00:03:27 solving those people's problems and a
00:03:25 00:03:29 lot of you don't have that you don't
00:03:27 00:03:31 have that fire right you're what you're
00:03:29 00:03:32 passionate about and what you think your
00:03:31 00:03:33 passion about is just making a whole
00:03:32 00:03:35 bunch of money right and making a whole
00:03:33 00:03:37 bunch of money is fantastik right being
00:03:35 00:03:38 able to you know work for yourself make
00:03:37 00:03:41 enough money and e-commerce to sustain
00:03:38 00:03:43 the lifestyle that you want to and not
00:03:41 00:03:45 have to go to a job that's fantastik but
00:03:43 00:03:48 you're not gonna get there if you're not
00:03:45 00:03:50 focused and irrationally passionate
00:03:48 00:03:52 about solving people's problems right
00:03:50 00:03:55 think about it guys the richest people
00:03:52 00:03:57 in the world all produce a ridiculous
00:03:55 00:04:00 amount of value in the world in order to
00:03:57 00:04:03 get that money right the money is just a
00:04:00 00:04:06 byproduct of solving people's problems
00:04:03 00:04:07 okay now you don't necessarily need to
00:04:06 00:04:09 go and create the next Apple or
00:04:07 00:04:11 Microsoft or something like that no
00:04:09 00:04:13 right a lot of us are working a much
00:04:11 00:04:15 smaller scale than that right in order
00:04:13 00:04:16 for us to be able to not have to go to a
00:04:15 00:04:18 nine-to-five times you really don't have
00:04:16 00:04:20 to make that much money unless you want
00:04:18 00:04:22 to really live lavishly now in order
00:04:20 00:04:24 right to do this at a small scale you
00:04:22 00:04:26 find that niche group of people you find
00:04:24 00:04:28 that passion niche that you can tap
00:04:26 00:04:31 - preferably one that you are passionate
00:04:28 00:04:33 about or you partner up with someone
00:04:31 00:04:34 else that is passionate about it because
00:04:33 00:04:36 if you're if you don't have someone
00:04:34 00:04:38 that's passionate about about the niche
00:04:36 00:04:40 you're not going to be able to create
00:04:38 00:04:43 the content necessary the emails the
00:04:40 00:04:45 marketing the advertising necessary to
00:04:43 00:04:47 be successful in your online business
00:04:45 00:04:49 okay it's just not gonna happen okay
00:04:47 00:04:51 trust me if you try and do it's gonna be
00:04:49 00:04:53 like pulling teeth for you okay it's
00:04:51 00:04:54 gonna be it's gonna be exhausting for
00:04:53 00:04:56 you and you're gonna hate building your
00:04:54 00:04:58 business and that's not where you want
00:04:56 00:05:00 to be I promise you that okay I spent so
00:04:58 00:05:03 many years in businesses that I hated
00:05:00 00:05:04 had no knew nothing about didn't know
00:05:03 00:05:06 the customers didn't care about solving
00:05:04 00:05:08 their problems okay and I promise you
00:05:06 00:05:10 the money will follow once you are in a
00:05:08 00:05:12 niche and you are committed to that
00:05:10 00:05:14 niche and solving their problems even if
00:05:12 00:05:16 it doesn't seem like a big problem to
00:05:14 00:05:17 you right now for someone that you're
00:05:16 00:05:20 selling that product to it is you're
00:05:17 00:05:22 solving them a problem okay so be
00:05:20 00:05:23 passionate and solve those problems for
00:05:22 00:05:26 that niche and become absolutely
00:05:23 00:05:27 immersed in that niche and seeing what
00:05:26 00:05:30 those problems are to even begin with
00:05:27 00:05:31 okay so that's the very first thing and
00:05:30 00:05:33 that is going out to a lot of you that
00:05:31 00:05:34 are just getting started considering
00:05:33 00:05:38 getting into e-commerce or drop shipping
00:05:34 00:05:40 okay number two you aren't thinking
00:05:38 00:05:42 long-term okay
00:05:40 00:05:44 you're not thinking long-term okay now
00:05:42 00:05:47 what I mean long-term is a lot of you
00:05:44 00:05:50 right you're so focused on just making
00:05:47 00:05:52 these sales that you forget that you are
00:05:50 00:05:55 actually selling to human beings
00:05:52 00:05:58 okay and you're not changing up your
00:05:55 00:06:01 sales process okay now when I say that
00:05:58 00:06:05 what I mean is like you have to pivot
00:06:01 00:06:06 from dropshipping early express stuff to
00:06:05 00:06:08 people okay
00:06:06 00:06:09 when you have winners and this is what
00:06:08 00:06:12 why I'm making this video is because I
00:06:09 00:06:14 see students crushing it and you're
00:06:12 00:06:17 still selling aliexpress drop shooing
00:06:14 00:06:18 products you're not gonna win okay
00:06:17 00:06:19 you're not gonna win right your success
00:06:18 00:06:22 right now is probably gonna be very
00:06:19 00:06:24 short-lived okay if you want to be
00:06:22 00:06:27 successful you have to start branding
00:06:24 00:06:29 your own products and your services okay
00:06:27 00:06:30 whatever that is you have to start
00:06:29 00:06:31 branding those of you that are just
00:06:30 00:06:34 getting started
00:06:31 00:06:35 yes start with overseas drop shipping or
00:06:34 00:06:37 from suppliers or wholesalers or
00:06:35 00:06:39 whatever find those winning products
00:06:37 00:06:41 that you can confidently say
00:06:39 00:06:42 I know how to sell them build up some
00:06:41 00:06:45 cashflow get some money into your
00:06:42 00:06:47 business bank account right once you are
00:06:45 00:06:49 comfortable selling that product you
00:06:47 00:06:50 have a good sales process in place to
00:06:49 00:06:53 make sales all command-b with
00:06:50 00:06:54 advertising influencers right and you
00:06:53 00:06:56 started building up your own audience
00:06:54 00:06:58 right of people with your email list may
00:06:56 00:07:00 be your messenger bot that's when you
00:06:58 00:07:01 can then confidently use some of that
00:07:00 00:07:04 money in your business and bank account
00:07:01 00:07:06 and maybe order a test order of five
00:07:04 00:07:08 hundred or a thousand units from a
00:07:06 00:07:11 manufacturer directly and put your
00:07:08 00:07:13 actual brand name on it okay
00:07:11 00:07:15 brand is so important now a lot of you
00:07:13 00:07:16 think that hey you know you're just
00:07:15 00:07:18 getting started you need a fancy logo
00:07:16 00:07:21 you need those things know right the
00:07:18 00:07:23 brand it evolves right what your brand
00:07:21 00:07:25 is right now isn't gonna be what your
00:07:23 00:07:26 brand is tomorrow okay and a lot of
00:07:25 00:07:28 times when you're just getting started
00:07:26 00:07:29 your brand doesn't even matter right
00:07:28 00:07:31 because you don't know yet what your
00:07:29 00:07:32 brand is gonna become that's the most
00:07:31 00:07:34 amazing part about this business and
00:07:32 00:07:36 e-commerce is that there's so much
00:07:34 00:07:38 competition out there but guess what if
00:07:36 00:07:40 me and you both start a fishing business
00:07:38 00:07:42 today right you are going to brand yours
00:07:40 00:07:44 differently than mine even though we
00:07:42 00:07:45 might be targeting the same niche right
00:07:44 00:07:46 but we're probably going to be hitting
00:07:45 00:07:49 on different segments of that market and
00:07:46 00:07:51 probably having some shared customers in
00:07:49 00:07:53 there as well but you can't figure out
00:07:51 00:07:56 what your brand is until you start until
00:07:53 00:07:58 you get started and you evolve into that
00:07:56 00:07:59 brand that's why I like to start with it
00:07:58 00:08:02 I recommend people start with a smaller
00:07:59 00:08:04 sort of starting with dropshipping
00:08:02 00:08:06 Aliexpress and then finding those
00:08:04 00:08:07 winners getting confident being able to
00:08:06 00:08:09 learn to sell learn to be a good
00:08:07 00:08:11 marketer regulars a lot of things that
00:08:09 00:08:13 you have to learn to be confident of and
00:08:11 00:08:15 then use some of the money that you made
00:08:13 00:08:16 and then invest it right instead of
00:08:15 00:08:18 doing it backwards or a lot of people
00:08:16 00:08:21 like on Amazon what they do is they will
00:08:18 00:08:22 dump $10,000 in inventory and then send
00:08:21 00:08:23 to Amazon warehouse that's a lot of
00:08:22 00:08:25 money right that's a lot of money to
00:08:23 00:08:26 invest in a business that you don't know
00:08:25 00:08:28 if you're gonna be able to sell the
00:08:26 00:08:30 products or not right so start low risk
00:08:28 00:08:31 low cost yes there are some downsides of
00:08:30 00:08:33 course to aliexpress drop shipping and
00:08:31 00:08:36 drop shipping in general from overseas
00:08:33 00:08:39 but the pros just far outweigh them
00:08:36 00:08:41 right build up that cash flow then focus
00:08:39 00:08:42 on the brand if you're already doing
00:08:41 00:08:44 over ten thousand dollars a month in
00:08:42 00:08:47 sales right and your release already
00:08:44 00:08:49 selling 500 to a thousand units per
00:08:47 00:08:52 month of Au product you need to be
00:08:49 00:08:54 branding go to Alibaba tok to maybe
00:08:52 00:08:55 your Aliexpress supplier or whoever your
00:08:54 00:08:57 suppliers right now figure out what you
00:08:55 00:08:59 can do to start branding right now when
00:08:57 00:09:01 I say branding that means putting your
00:08:59 00:09:02 actual logo on the product if possible
00:09:01 00:09:04 right so if your self fishing lures
00:09:02 00:09:06 putting like a little logo on the top of
00:09:04 00:09:07 the fishing lure right getting some nice
00:09:06 00:09:10 custom packaging done and all of that
00:09:07 00:09:11 can be done by your manufacturers right
00:09:10 00:09:13 so if your son fishing lures like they
00:09:11 00:09:15 can make you a nice custom box they can
00:09:13 00:09:16 put insert cards in for you maybe some
00:09:15 00:09:17 sort of lift letters that you want to
00:09:16 00:09:19 put in like some sort of sales letters
00:09:17 00:09:21 in there as well write your Semenya
00:09:19 00:09:23 factor can do all of that for you for
00:09:21 00:09:25 pennies is what you're probably paying
00:09:23 00:09:27 on Aliexpress and then ship that over to
00:09:25 00:09:29 the United States or wherever your
00:09:27 00:09:31 fulfillment center is and then you can
00:09:29 00:09:33 start fulfilling orders from that supply
00:09:31 00:09:35 and that it's not one of those things
00:09:33 00:09:37 where it's end or it's an end the guys
00:09:35 00:09:39 it doesn't have to be like it has to be
00:09:37 00:09:41 this or this right it can be an end
00:09:39 00:09:42 right that means you can be dropped you
00:09:41 00:09:44 in from Aliexpress and at the same time
00:09:42 00:09:46 you're just selling your own products
00:09:44 00:09:48 right and you slowly work your way into
00:09:46 00:09:50 getting your own branded products
00:09:48 00:09:52 because that's gonna allow you to have
00:09:50 00:09:53 those repeat customers right a lot of
00:09:52 00:09:55 you guys that are doing Alex noise drop
00:09:53 00:09:57 shipping right those cons are probably
00:09:55 00:09:58 gonna hurt you later on a lot of some of
00:09:57 00:09:59 those customers right never gonna buy
00:09:58 00:10:01 from you again because a shipping took
00:09:59 00:10:03 forever your customer service probably
00:10:01 00:10:05 sucks and that's okay because your first
00:10:03 00:10:06 time is your first swing at-bat as a
00:10:05 00:10:08 business owner right you're gonna mess
00:10:06 00:10:10 up you're gonna mess up a ton of stuff
00:10:08 00:10:12 but guess what you don't want to scale
00:10:10 00:10:14 right and have terrible customer service
00:10:12 00:10:16 when you're starting to scale you should
00:10:14 00:10:18 be scaling with your branded products
00:10:16 00:10:20 you shouldn't scale your an aliexpress
00:10:18 00:10:22 drop ship and those people aren't gonna
00:10:20 00:10:24 buy from you ever again right do it on a
00:10:22 00:10:26 small scale first get yourself to start
00:10:24 00:10:28 selling 500 to a thousand units a month
00:10:26 00:10:30 and then start branding and then scale
00:10:28 00:10:32 with your existing inventory okay and
00:10:30 00:10:34 that's gonna give you that kind of data
00:10:32 00:10:35 is so invaluable to you because it's
00:10:34 00:10:36 gonna allow you to forecast what those
00:10:35 00:10:39 things are
00:10:36 00:10:41 this leads me to my third point creepy
00:10:39 00:10:43 purchases a lot of you guys are focused
00:10:41 00:10:45 on this first-time sale right and even
00:10:43 00:10:47 some of you guys that are doing upsells
00:10:45 00:10:48 fantastik are you're increasing the
00:10:47 00:10:50 average cart value but you're forgetting
00:10:48 00:10:52 the second most important metric in
00:10:50 00:10:54 business right the first one in my
00:10:52 00:10:56 opinion is average cart value right
00:10:54 00:10:57 because if without a proper average cart
00:10:56 00:10:58 value you're not going to be able to
00:10:57 00:11:00 your ad cost you're not gonna be able to
00:10:58 00:11:01 be profitable from your front end and
00:11:00 00:11:02 lead people into your back-end sales
00:11:01 00:11:04 process all right average cart value
00:11:02 00:11:06 extremely important but the second most
00:11:04 00:11:08 important one is a lifetime value of
00:11:06 00:11:11 your customers right a lot of you don't
00:11:08 00:11:13 think that long-term way as lifetime
00:11:11 00:11:15 value now a lifetime value is the amount
00:11:13 00:11:18 of money that average customer spends
00:11:15 00:11:20 with you during their time with you
00:11:18 00:11:22 right so during their lifetime with you
00:11:20 00:11:23 okay now it's not essentially a metric
00:11:22 00:11:26 that you can accidentally gauge but you
00:11:23 00:11:27 can look at the LTV over a year period
00:11:26 00:11:30 what is the average customer spend with
00:11:27 00:11:32 you and start understanding hey what is
00:11:30 00:11:34 the average customer I can spend right
00:11:32 00:11:35 when you understand that LTV paired with
00:11:34 00:11:36 the average cart value your business
00:11:35 00:11:39 becomes unstoppable
00:11:36 00:11:40 this is why with my fishing business we
00:11:39 00:11:43 were comfortable even acquiring
00:11:40 00:11:45 customers at $50 on a free plus shipping
00:11:43 00:11:47 offer because we knew our average
00:11:45 00:11:48 customer who a percentage of them would
00:11:47 00:11:50 join our continuity our subscription
00:11:48 00:11:52 boxes and we knew that that would cost
00:11:50 00:11:55 them five hundred dollars over a year or
00:11:52 00:11:58 $300 or $350 I believe it was four years
00:11:55 00:12:01 that they would get we would get that
00:11:58 00:12:02 revenue back right so yes if there's a
00:12:01 00:12:04 little bit of delaying gratification but
00:12:02 00:12:06 understanding those stats is so
00:12:04 00:12:09 important okay and you get you get to
00:12:06 00:12:10 that point by actually branding your
00:12:09 00:12:12 products and having good customer
00:12:10 00:12:13 service because nobody you're not going
00:12:12 00:12:14 to get repeat customers
00:12:13 00:12:16 you're not going to increase that
00:12:14 00:12:19 lifetime value from your customers if
00:12:16 00:12:21 you are not giving them a good
00:12:19 00:12:24 experience that's why I'm telling you
00:12:21 00:12:26 you can't scale with aliexpress drop
00:12:24 00:12:28 shipping to the hundred thousand dollar
00:12:26 00:12:30 per month mark right don't do it right
00:12:28 00:12:32 even though you might have such
00:12:30 00:12:35 promising stats right you might be blue
00:12:32 00:12:36 you might have gone to 10k Club quickly
00:12:35 00:12:39 right you might have gotten to the 50k
00:12:36 00:12:41 Club even faster right but stop there
00:12:39 00:12:42 right I'm not saying stop like you call
00:12:41 00:12:43 your business but stop scaling
00:12:42 00:12:46 bring in that some of that branded
00:12:43 00:12:48 inventory in first so those people as
00:12:46 00:12:50 you scale you can actually have a good
00:12:48 00:12:51 business and start building your brand
00:12:50 00:12:53 right because that is where business
00:12:51 00:12:55 starts happening guys I'm telling you
00:12:53 00:12:58 right now a lot of you are focused on
00:12:55 00:12:59 level 1 level 1 is Alex fresh drop
00:12:58 00:13:01 shipping overseas drop shipping and
00:12:59 00:13:03 learning marketing right level 2 is
00:13:01 00:13:05 starting to brand right and starting
00:13:03 00:13:06 getting into that brand building of your
00:13:05 00:13:09 business and creating something
00:13:06 00:13:10 sustainable for yourself right that is
00:13:09 00:13:12 where I'd be
00:13:10 00:13:14 for you guys to quit your job when you
00:13:12 00:13:16 actually have customers that buy from
00:13:14 00:13:17 you not because of what how cheap your
00:13:16 00:13:20 products are but because they actually
00:13:17 00:13:22 like you okay and if you don't have that
00:13:20 00:13:24 and they don't like you you aren't
00:13:22 00:13:25 you're always gonna be fighting for
00:13:24 00:13:28 customers with your competition and
00:13:25 00:13:29 instead I challenge you to focus on
00:13:28 00:13:31 actually how about giving a better
00:13:29 00:13:33 experience to your current customers
