00:00:23 00:00:26 was pretty much hooked onto facebook
00:00:24 00:00:28 just doing whatever i possibly could
00:00:26 00:00:30 to keep my main store running with
00:00:28 00:00:32 facebook ads unfortunately
00:00:30 00:00:34 after a period of time i did start to
00:00:32 00:00:35 notike that i was putting in way too
00:00:34 00:00:37 much effort
00:00:35 00:00:39 for minimal results with facebook and
00:00:37 00:00:41 this really got me started into finding
00:00:39 00:00:43 different advertising platforms
00:00:41 00:00:44 to begin using one of them of course was
00:00:43 00:00:45 google ads
00:00:44 00:00:47 ever since i started using google ads
00:00:45 00:00:49 about two years ago from today i knew
00:00:47 00:00:51 that this was the advertising platform i
00:00:49 00:00:53 wanted to basically master simply
00:00:51 00:00:55 because it was much different from
00:00:53 00:00:56 facebook there were a lot of benefits to
00:00:55 00:00:58 it because google is literally one of
00:00:56 00:00:59 the biggest platforms
00:00:58 00:01:01 out there which you can sell on
00:00:59 00:01:03 literally everybody and their dog uses
00:01:01 00:01:05 google ads but in addition
00:01:03 00:01:06 google was fairly new at that time there
00:01:05 00:01:08 weren't really that many tutorials
00:01:06 00:01:09 available out there not many shopify's
00:01:08 00:01:11 dropshippers
00:01:09 00:01:12 even using google and that got me
00:01:11 00:01:14 started with google
00:01:12 00:01:16 and here i am today after about 1.5
00:01:14 00:01:18 million dollars in sales
00:01:16 00:01:19 only via google ads within the past year
00:01:18 00:01:21 and a half so what do i really wish i
00:01:19 00:01:23 had known before starting google as i'm
00:01:21 00:01:24 gonna be toking about the five things
00:01:23 00:01:26 before we do that make sure to smash
00:01:24 00:01:27 that like button down below gonna take
00:01:26 00:01:28 just two quick seconds
00:01:27 00:01:30 okay hopefully you have smashed the like
00:01:28 00:01:32 button down below but let's just get
00:01:30 00:01:33 right into so the thing number one which
00:01:32 00:01:35 a lot of people actually
00:01:33 00:01:37 don't even know about right now and if
00:01:35 00:01:39 they're new they're just starting to get
00:01:37 00:01:41 into google ads they really doubt this
00:01:39 00:01:42 is they believe google ads against the
00:01:41 00:01:45 drop shipping model
00:01:42 00:01:46 as a whole i wish i knew when i started
00:01:45 00:01:48 back then and even right now if i were
00:01:46 00:01:50 to start a brand new shopify store
00:01:48 00:01:51 that google ads is not against drop
00:01:50 00:01:54 shipping
00:01:51 00:01:55 it is against drop shippers who are here
00:01:54 00:01:57 for the quick buck
00:01:55 00:01:59 the quick sales or to basically scam
00:01:57 00:02:01 people and make sure to spell scam right
00:01:59 00:02:03 but google ads definitely
00:02:01 00:02:04 is over with the drop shippers trying to
00:02:03 00:02:05 make a quick buck
00:02:04 00:02:07 just selling from china directly
00:02:05 00:02:10 sourcing from china or just basically
00:02:07 00:02:12 here not to even send any type of item
00:02:10 00:02:14 and try to build a legitimate business
00:02:12 00:02:16 from chinese suppliers only there's
00:02:14 00:02:18 various different reasons as to why
00:02:16 00:02:19 google is now against this
00:02:18 00:02:21 one of the main reasons is because one
00:02:19 00:02:22 of google's employees was actually
00:02:21 00:02:23 scammed
00:02:22 00:02:26 by a drop shipping website a few months
00:02:23 00:02:27 ago and it was on the google ass news
00:02:26 00:02:29 which could have been one of the leading
00:02:27 00:02:31 factors of this drastik change and what
00:02:29 00:02:33 they accept and what they do not accept
00:02:31 00:02:35 number two a lot more customers are
00:02:33 00:02:36 starting to complain regarding the slow
00:02:35 00:02:39 shipping times the quality of the item
00:02:36 00:02:40 and so forth this led google ads and it
00:02:39 00:02:41 seemed to basically reconsider what kind
00:02:40 00:02:43 of stores
00:02:41 00:02:45 it was allowing on its platform because
00:02:43 00:02:46 one thing a lot of people failed to
00:02:45 00:02:48 realize and what i didn't really even
00:02:46 00:02:50 grasp myself in the beginning was
00:02:48 00:02:51 google ads is a business it is not a
00:02:50 00:02:53 business for you
00:02:51 00:02:55 it is a business to earn customers
00:02:53 00:02:57 meaning the people that use google ads
00:02:55 00:02:59 to search for products it is a business
00:02:57 00:03:01 catering to them
00:02:59 00:03:03 so they are google's number one priority
00:03:01 00:03:04 and you are google's number two priority
00:03:03 00:03:06 as the
00:03:04 00:03:07 advertiser a lot of dropshippers or just
00:03:06 00:03:09 ecom store owners kind of mess this up
00:03:07 00:03:11 and they don't even know about this
00:03:09 00:03:12 but this is the reality you are not
00:03:11 00:03:14 google's main priority
00:03:12 00:03:16 you do not want to think that you can do
00:03:14 00:03:18 whatever you want and get away with it
00:03:16 00:03:20 especially nowadays this is something
00:03:18 00:03:22 again i really didn't understand but as
00:03:20 00:03:22 of right now this is one thing you must
00:03:22 00:03:24 understand
00:03:22 00:03:26 in order to find any type of success
00:03:24 00:03:27 with google google is not against drop
00:03:26 00:03:29 shipping
00:03:27 00:03:30 it is against those drop shippers trying
00:03:29 00:03:32 to make a quick buck or basically here
00:03:30 00:03:34 to scam so this
00:03:32 00:03:36 means you need to transfer your business
00:03:34 00:03:38 more towards the sourcing from ebay
00:03:36 00:03:40 or from other american suppliers as a
00:03:38 00:03:41 whole rather than just relying on
00:03:40 00:03:42 aliexpress
00:03:41 00:03:44 now if you're not sure how to do this

00:03:48 00:03:51 time trying to find these american

00:03:54 00:03:56 what
00:03:55 00:03:58 is going to make your google as account
00:03:56 00:04:01 not only get approved to the merchant
00:03:58 00:04:02 center in 2021 but also keep it approved
00:04:01 00:04:04 and help you keep getting sales
00:04:02 00:04:06 long term consistently but this is
00:04:04 00:04:07 definitely something i wish i had known
00:04:06 00:04:09 before i started google glass let's move
00:04:07 00:04:11 on to the next thing and that is
00:04:09 00:04:12 during the bad performance days meaning
00:04:11 00:04:15 the days when you're losing money
00:04:12 00:04:17 or even the weeks you have literally no
00:04:15 00:04:19 other choice but to sit back
00:04:17 00:04:20 and wait i did not know about this in
00:04:19 00:04:22 the beginning because
00:04:20 00:04:24 as i mentioned i was coming directly
00:04:22 00:04:26 from facebook i had the instinct of just
00:04:24 00:04:26 going in every few seconds every few
00:04:26 00:04:27 minutes
00:04:26 00:04:30 to see if there was anything i could
00:04:27 00:04:31 change or improve
00:04:30 00:04:33 and this really got to me in the first
00:04:31 00:04:36 initial month and even the entire year
00:04:33 00:04:38 of using google ads because as i always
00:04:36 00:04:39 mentioned in a lot of my videos
00:04:38 00:04:42 you should not be making constant
00:04:39 00:04:43 changes with your google ads campaigns
00:04:42 00:04:44 because that is the best way to
00:04:43 00:04:45 basically ruin everything up and if
00:04:44 00:04:47 you're not
00:04:45 00:04:48 really sure what i'm even toking about

00:05:07 00:05:10 sitting back and basically waiting and
00:05:09 00:05:12 doing nothing
00:05:10 00:05:13 with my campaign slowly over time i
00:05:12 00:05:15 realized that the more
00:05:13 00:05:17 changes i was making that too constantly
00:05:15 00:05:20 the more the performance was declining
00:05:17 00:05:21 so after realizing this i started to let
00:05:20 00:05:23 my campaign basically run
00:05:21 00:05:25 even if it was performing bad on any
00:05:23 00:05:27 given days or even any given weeks
00:05:25 00:05:29 and just not touch it until seven days
00:05:27 00:05:31 had passed or even 14 days had passed
00:05:29 00:05:32 as i started to do this more and more
00:05:31 00:05:34 often i notiked that
00:05:32 00:05:36 those days when i was not doing anything
00:05:34 00:05:37 on my campaigns when it had basically
00:05:36 00:05:39 been running for an entire week
00:05:37 00:05:40 without any changes were the days i was
00:05:39 00:05:42 getting the highest
00:05:40 00:05:44 row as which was absolutely mind-blowing
00:05:42 00:05:44 for me because again i came from
00:05:44 00:05:46 facebook
00:05:44 00:05:48 this was not something too common for me
00:05:46 00:05:49 so i wish i had known this in the
00:05:48 00:05:50 beginning because that would have got me
00:05:49 00:05:52 more profits
00:05:50 00:05:54 from the start basically bad for
00:05:52 00:05:56 performance days or weeks
00:05:54 00:05:57 you do nothing but sit back and wait for
00:05:56 00:05:58 google to get back on track now of
00:05:57 00:05:59 course
00:05:58 00:06:01 if the bad performance is because you
00:05:59 00:06:03 changed something and you edited
00:06:01 00:06:05 something and now it's performing really
00:06:03 00:06:07 bad then that is a different scenario
00:06:05 00:06:07 that is when you might want to go in and
00:06:07 00:06:09 see exactly
00:06:07 00:06:11 why there is bad performance what you
00:06:09 00:06:12 can do about it and so forth but
00:06:11 00:06:13 otherwise
00:06:12 00:06:15 if you have literally changed nothing
00:06:13 00:06:16 then is this the basic fluctuations of
00:06:15 00:06:17 the market
00:06:16 00:06:19 not every day the same amount of
00:06:17 00:06:19 customers are going to search for your
00:06:19 00:06:21 product
00:06:19 00:06:22 not every day are you gonna get the same
00:06:21 00:06:24 sales that's just how google works and
00:06:22 00:06:27 that's just reality of e-commerce so
00:06:24 00:06:29 during the bad performance days or weeks
00:06:27 00:06:31 just sit back relax and let google do
00:06:29 00:06:33 its thing if it continuously happens for
00:06:31 00:06:35 more than 14 days go in and
00:06:33 00:06:37 lower the bid maybe even lower the
00:06:35 00:06:38 budget
00:06:37 00:06:40 but continue the proper optimizations
00:06:38 00:06:42 that way and don't go too crazy with the
00:06:40 00:06:43 optimization because this is one of the
00:06:42 00:06:44 things i wish i had known in the
00:06:43 00:06:46 beginning
00:06:44 00:06:47 and as i mentioned would have saved me a
00:06:46 00:06:49 lot of lost profits but this brings me
00:06:47 00:06:52 to point number three and that is
00:06:49 00:06:53 pricing is literally not the main factor
00:06:52 00:06:55 which determines
00:06:53 00:06:57 your success with google ads this is one
00:06:55 00:06:59 big misconception a lot of people using
00:06:57 00:07:00 google as have and that is you can
00:06:59 00:07:02 compare pricing with
00:07:00 00:07:04 google ads that means you need to price
00:07:02 00:07:05 it to be the lowest amongst your
00:07:04 00:07:06 competitors
00:07:05 00:07:07 otherwise you're not going to get any
00:07:06 00:07:09 results you're not going to get any
00:07:07 00:07:11 sales you're going to fail
00:07:09 00:07:12 that is far from the truth and this is
00:07:11 00:07:14 one thing i actually believed in in the
00:07:12 00:07:16 beginning and i wish i had known because
00:07:14 00:07:18 then i would have got much more profits
00:07:16 00:07:20 and higher profit margins
00:07:18 00:07:21 note this does not mean that pricing
00:07:20 00:07:23 absolutely plays no role
00:07:21 00:07:25 in determining whether you find any
00:07:23 00:07:26 success with google ads or not because
00:07:25 00:07:27 of course if you want to sell a dog
00:07:26 00:07:29 necklace
00:07:27 00:07:30 nobody is going to buy your dog necklace
00:07:29 00:07:31 for ten thousand dollars that's just the
00:07:30 00:07:33 reality
00:07:31 00:07:35 pricing in that sense is going to of
00:07:33 00:07:36 course affect your sales however
00:07:35 00:07:38 it is not one of the main things because
00:07:36 00:07:39 there's a lot more factors
00:07:38 00:07:41 that go into determining whether
00:07:39 00:07:43 somebody wants to buy from you or not
00:07:41 00:07:45 some include the actual product image
00:07:43 00:07:46 you're using the titles that you have
00:07:45 00:07:47 the search engine optimization you did
00:07:46 00:07:49 and so forth
00:07:47 00:07:50 and for this again i recommend looking
00:07:49 00:07:52 more into my google ads mentoring if

00:08:06 00:08:10 thing is i would say the image because
00:08:08 00:08:12 i'm able to sell a lot of products which
00:08:10 00:08:14 other competitors are selling for less
00:08:12 00:08:16 for more than fifty dollars their cost
00:08:14 00:08:18 add a profit and those products are
00:08:16 00:08:19 winning products for me why
00:08:18 00:08:21 because of the image that i'm using so
00:08:19 00:08:23 always focus on these other factors as
00:08:21 00:08:25 well not just surprising because pricing
00:08:23 00:08:25 is one of the factors but not the main
00:08:25 00:08:27 one
00:08:25 00:08:28 and not the only one let's move on to
00:08:27 00:08:29 the fourth thing i wish i had known and
00:08:28 00:08:31 that is
00:08:29 00:08:33 while the competitive bids are important
00:08:31 00:08:35 they're not the only factors
00:08:33 00:08:37 which affect your ranking just a few
00:08:35 00:08:38 days ago i had a consulting student who
00:08:37 00:08:40 asked me
00:08:38 00:08:41 how they would rank amongst those people
00:08:40 00:08:43 with higher profit margin products
00:08:41 00:08:45 selling those products for a thousand
00:08:43 00:08:46 two thousand dollars because then that
00:08:45 00:08:48 means they also were
00:08:46 00:08:50 able to bid much higher than this than
00:08:48 00:08:50 my student and while that is definitely
00:08:50 00:08:52 true
00:08:50 00:08:55 you want to understand that that is not
00:08:52 00:08:56 the only factor affecting your ranking
00:08:55 00:08:58 as i just mentioned previously that
00:08:56 00:09:00 pricing is not the only issue
00:08:58 00:09:02 the bidding is also not the only issue
00:09:00 00:09:03 you can be bidding very competitively
00:09:02 00:09:05 ranking within the top five of the top
00:09:03 00:09:07 10 listings and having a lot of people
00:09:05 00:09:09 click on your ad and go on your product
00:09:07 00:09:10 page but still be at a loss or not even
00:09:09 00:09:11 getting any sales
00:09:10 00:09:13 and this all boils down to what kind of
00:09:11 00:09:14 product image that you have what is your
00:09:13 00:09:15 pricing
00:09:14 00:09:17 did you do proper search engine
00:09:15 00:09:19 optimization meaning are you ranking for
00:09:17 00:09:20 the keyword dog necklace when you're
00:09:19 00:09:22 trying to sell a cat necklace
00:09:20 00:09:23 or are you ranking for similar keywords
00:09:22 00:09:24 which are relevant to your product
00:09:23 00:09:26 because
00:09:24 00:09:27 without these things you will not really
00:09:26 00:09:29 be ranking for the right things you will
00:09:27 00:09:31 not be ranking for the right auctions
00:09:29 00:09:31 because every time a search is done on
00:09:31 00:09:34 google
00:09:31 00:09:36 your listing is put inside an auction
00:09:34 00:09:37 amongst other competitors and if you do
00:09:36 00:09:39 everything right meaning the image is
00:09:37 00:09:40 right the bidding is right the price is
00:09:39 00:09:41 right
00:09:40 00:09:43 then you win that auction and you have
00:09:41 00:09:45 the ability to win
00:09:43 00:09:46 that person's click but if you're just
00:09:45 00:09:49 from the beginning
00:09:46 00:09:50 ranking in the wrong auctions or maybe
00:09:49 00:09:51 your pricing is way too high maybe your
00:09:50 00:09:52 image
00:09:51 00:09:54 is not showcasing the product so even
00:09:52 00:09:54 though you're ranking nobody's clicking
00:09:54 00:09:56 on your ad
00:09:54 00:09:58 these things are gonna directly impact
00:09:56 00:10:00 your ranking so
00:09:58 00:10:01 competitive bids are important but the
00:10:00 00:10:02 bidding itself
00:10:01 00:10:04 does not affect your ranking or in
00:10:02 00:10:05 google ads case it's known as quality
00:10:04 00:10:07 score so
00:10:05 00:10:09 what exactly affects your quality score
00:10:07 00:10:10 the bidding does of course affect your
00:10:09 00:10:13 quality score along with
00:10:10 00:10:14 the ctr of your campaigns and if people
00:10:13 00:10:15 are actually buying from you so what
00:10:14 00:10:17 happens when
00:10:15 00:10:18 somebody goes on the product page do
00:10:17 00:10:19 they just leave right away is your
00:10:18 00:10:21 bounce rate very high
00:10:19 00:10:22 or do they stay there for 10 minutes
00:10:21 00:10:24 every single time and
00:10:22 00:10:26 interact with your website thoroughly
00:10:24 00:10:28 these things affect your ranking and
00:10:26 00:10:30 you can in a lot of the cases rank
00:10:28 00:10:32 number one number two number three
00:10:30 00:10:34 with a much lower bet than somebody
00:10:32 00:10:35 who's ranking number five or number 10
00:10:34 00:10:37 simply because more people are
00:10:35 00:10:38 interacting with your ad not theirs or
00:10:37 00:10:40 more people are buying from you and not
00:10:38 00:10:41 them so your cpc is naturally going down
00:10:40 00:10:42 so
00:10:41 00:10:44 this is one thing i wish i knew this
00:10:42 00:10:44 would have saved me a lot of time and
00:10:44 00:10:46 energy
00:10:44 00:10:48 trying to focus on bidding much higher
00:10:46 00:10:49 than my competitors because in reality
00:10:48 00:10:52 it is not one of the most important
00:10:49 00:10:53 things but this brings me to the last
00:10:52 00:10:54 thing that i wish i knew about google
00:10:53 00:10:56 ads and that is
00:10:54 00:10:58 skilling is a time-based process you can
00:10:56 00:11:00 try to increase your budget
00:10:58 00:11:01 on your winning campaigns by fifty
00:11:00 00:11:03 dollars a hundred dollars do it two
00:11:01 00:11:05 times three times and so forth
00:11:03 00:11:07 but all that's gonna do is ruin your
00:11:05 00:11:08 campaign and this is something
00:11:07 00:11:10 i wish i had known because in the
00:11:08 00:11:11 beginning as i had come from facebook
00:11:10 00:11:12 ads
00:11:11 00:11:14 i believe that the best way to scale is
00:11:12 00:11:16 by doubling the campaign budget or by
00:11:14 00:11:17 creating another duplicated campaign
00:11:16 00:11:20 and increasing the campaign budget by
00:11:17 00:11:21 five times ten times you can set the new
00:11:20 00:11:22 campaign's budget at five hundred
00:11:21 00:11:24 dollars a day
00:11:22 00:11:26 a thousand two thousand or so forth but
00:11:24 00:11:26 if the audience is not right for that
00:11:26 00:11:28 campaign
00:11:26 00:11:30 or if the product itself is really not
00:11:28 00:11:31 searched that often or you were just
00:11:30 00:11:33 getting a few lucky sales
00:11:31 00:11:35 your new campaign or the skilled
00:11:33 00:11:37 campaign is simply not going to perform
00:11:35 00:11:39 or get you the desired results so
00:11:37 00:11:40 scaling is a time-based process
00:11:39 00:11:43 you want to be increasing your budget by
00:11:40 00:11:45 20 every few days 7 to 14 days or so
00:11:43 00:11:47 and no more than that because any time
00:11:45 00:11:49 you do bigger changes all that you do is
00:11:47 00:11:50 restart the optimization process and
00:11:49 00:11:52 this can lead to a lot of
00:11:50 00:11:54 issues with you getting enough sales so
00:11:52 00:11:56 always take it nice and slow and again
00:11:54 00:11:57 something i wish i knew because i tried
00:11:56 00:11:59 to rush things like i would with
00:11:57 00:11:59 facebook and this is not something you
00:11:59 00:12:01 can do
00:11:59 00:12:03 with the google ads but these are the
00:12:01 00:12:04 five things i wish i had known before
00:12:03 00:12:06 getting into google ads again if you're
