Amazon VS. eBay Dropshipping | Is Amazon or eBay Better For Selling In 2021?

hey, what's up, guys? luke profits. most of you probably know me for my ebay drop shipping content, but recently i've been doing a whole lot of research and looking into amazon drop shipping. now, of course, i'm still selling on ebay- i don't have any plans to stop- but i'm also drop shipping on amazon now. there are pros and cons to each, of course, and one of the great things about ebay is that it's very beginner friendly and that you don't have to be that good with customer service or um. you know, like you, you can mess a lot of stuff up without it really causing you many issues. amazon, on the other hand, is a lot more strict, so you really have to know what you're doing beforehand. you can't just kind of wing it like some people try to do with ebay. on ebay, if you make a mistake and accidentally sell something that isn't profitable, you can just cancel the order and you don't really have to worry about it. but on amazon, if you mess up and sell something that's not profitable, canceling the order is really dumb, and you do actually need to fill it, even if you're losing a couple bucks. the interesting thing is, though, with ebay, you have to list like a thousand items to bring in some decent sales, whereas with amazon you just need to list a couple and then try your best not to drown in the flood of sales that you're gonna get. and to understand the reason for that, we kind of need to compare amazon and ebay. on ebay you have 25 million sellers competing for 183 million buyers. so you know pretty decent numbers: 25 million sellers, 183 million buyers. on amazon, you have 2 million sellers, not 25 million sellers. you have 2 million sellers- a lot less sellers- competing for 300 million buyers. let that sink in: 2 million sellers on amazon compared to 25 million sellers on ebay, you've got 23 million less sellers to compete with. when you're selling on amazon for more buyers, ebay doesn't even quite have 200 million buyers. amazon has 300 million buyers. another interesting thing is just the way that ebay and amazon handle listings. ebay, of course, if there are multiple people that are selling the same item, every single seller creates their own listing for that item. with amazon, all the sellers of the same item have to share the same listing, so that results in there being a lot less listings on amazon. so amazon has 385 million listings. and then, um, ebay has 1.5 billion listings. so that's uh, one 1 500 million listings on ebay. so basically, point is there's 12.5 times less sellers on amazon. there is on ebay competing for way more buyers with way fewer listings. so it's way easier to get sales on amazon with fewer listings than it is with ebay. now, important thing to note here: i'm not saying that amazon is easier than ebay, i'm just saying that you need way fewer listings to bring in way more sales. and that's where all the buyers are and there's a lot less competition. so amazon is worth the extra effort. ebay is still easier to start with. if you want to start ebay, i've got a link down there- link in the description- that goes to my free course. that's, you know, goes over everything you need to know to learn how to start drop shipping on ebay. ebay is great, but if you've already done that and you've kind of got your toe in the water and you understand drop shipping, you're not having trouble keeping your account in good shape on ebay or you know dealing with anything, you sort of learned everything that you need to do with ebay- then you might want to consider starting with amazon. amazon is a lot more strict and you really have to stay on top of everything, but the extra sale volume makes it worth it. well, guys, that's it for the video. if you're new to drop shipping on amazon and you're trying to figure out how to get started, i've got a full free set of training videos down there. link in the description goes over everything you need to know to get started. drop shipping on amazon and amazon's great because, compared to other platforms, it's actually super easy to get sales with very few listings, because there's so many more buyers on amazon and so many few sellers that you're competing with compared to other platforms like ebay. if you've got any questions about anything drop shipping related, feel free to hit me up on facebook. i'll put a link down there, as well as a link to a group that i started that has hundreds of other dropshippers in it that you can join. i post new content on this channel every few days, so go ahead and subscribe and hit the notifications, and i'll be back with another video in a couple days. [Music] you.

Amazon Dropshipping Vs.

Arkadaşlar, bunun sebebi de listing in anlamı: bir ürünü amazona koyduğunuzda, Bu ürünü amazonun platformda koymanız, a listing denir. Arkadaşlar, her farklı koyduğunuz ürünün her farklı listing olur.

Does Amazon To eBay Dropshipping Still Work in 2022? (Reaction)

i've been telling you guys for years now: do not drop ship from amazon to ebay. but what if i'm wrong? [Music]. what's up? everyone paul here from dropshippingtitanscom, where i teach regular people just like you how to start your first successful drop shipping store. recently, this video popped up on my youtube feed. it's entitled: i made 869 000 in 2021: drop shipping from amazon to ebay. i gotta admit i'm pretty skeptikal about this video because, even though i used to do a lot of drop shipping from amazon to ebay over the past few years, ebay has really not favored amazon drop shippers because they do not like amazon and they want to avoid giving amazon as much money as they can. so i'm really eager to watch this video and react to it to see: is someone out there still making a ton of money drop shipping amazon to ebay? but let's find out. so this video was posted by dropship king and it was posted january 1st 2022. let's check it out. and since the new year, i decided to try something different. so i'm showing my face on camera for the first time, so now all you guys can finally put a face to the voice you've been hearing in all my videos. and since you guys are seeing me on camera for the first time. i'd like to take this opportunity to formally introduce myself. my name is jay and i've been drop shipping for over a year now, and i started this channel back in may of 2021 to document my my journey and also help you guys make money drop shipping using the methods that i've developed over time. drop shipping for me has been a game changer and it really is the easiest way to make semi-passive income. i know there's been a lot of challenges. i completely agree with that. so when i started making money online- or trying to make money online, i should say i tried a lot of different ways that just didn't work, and the only thing that finally worked for me was drop shipping onto ebay, and it seems like it's the same thing for him as well. also, big props for putting yourself out there and putting your face on youtube, making videos. that same thing i did a few years ago and i'll tell you it really helped my drop shipping a lot, because all the feedback i got from people, the accountability i got from people being on youtube, really pushed me forward as a drop shipper. so props to you, man. so i want to start with 4q 2021 before we get into full year, 2021 results. if you guys recall, i have three accounts, so i'm going to show you all three of my accounts. this is the first one and, as you can see, this is from october. all right, so i'm looking right here: october 1st 2021 to december 31st 2021.. now i know there's going to be some people in the comments saying, oh, he faked this, this isn't real. yes, there are totally ways that you can fake this and inflate these numbers, but with all the information he's showing, it would take a lot of time and if he refreshes the page, that pretty much eliminates any sort of argument that this is fake at all. i don't believe this is fake, just based on how much we are seeing here. so i'm seeing right here: total sales this period is 70 000. it's up a thousand percent, and there were fees. there was tax collected by ebay, so he doesn't have to worry about that. one of the great things about selling on these marketplaces like ebay: you don't have to worry about sales tax because they're going to take care of it for you. the fees were just over 10 grand net sales- thirty five dollars. so awesome. if he's really just doing amazon to ebay, i mean man, this is still working for him. first, through december 31st of 2021. i'm just going to generate the report in real time so you can see. there you go, it's being updated, proof: it's real. so total sales for this quarter is 70 000 and there's gonna be some taxes collected by ebay in here, so we need to subtract these out to get the actual uh sales for this quarter and that comes out to roughly 66 dollars, and i'm going to show you my, my second account now. and then i forgot to say that you have to take out the 10 grand for selling fees. that leaves you with the number on the right, the 57 142.. so october 1st through december 31st, and we're going to generate report to refresh it in real time. oh wait, this was the second account, so so this one is 72, go back for a second. okay, i'm getting myself confused, all right. so this is the first account. they're really close. that's why i got confused. so in this one he forgot to say: you take out the 10 grand for fees, it leaves you with 56 000.. the second account: sixty six thousand dollars, and i'm gonna show you my. all right. so this second account account now. it's just pretty funny. it's so close the numbers on both of the accounts, um. so october 1st through december 31st and we're going to generate report to refresh in real time. also, major props: you look on the top right there you see that the messages is zero. that means he's responding to all of his messages every day, which i love to see. that means you're really on top of your customer service. so this one is seventy two thousand uh, minus the four thousand eight hundred uh. this gets you. so check this out right here. you see, under total sales it says seventy two thousand. under that it's up three hundred seventy four percent. that means that this account was probably one of his first accounts it's been around. that last account was a brand new account, which is why that percentage was up so high. i need about 67 000 and then finally for my third account, and so this one is fifty three thousand and three thousand four hundred uh and taxes collected by ebay. so v-net, these two comes out to around forty nine thousand, almost three thousand. i get asked a lot: can you have multiple ebay stores? and the answer is yeah, you definitely can. so usually what ebay wants you to do is start one store, get momentum with that before you open up a second or third store. but you're totally allowed to have multiple ebay accounts. now one that you can't do is if you get banned on ebay, you're not allowed to create a new account just to get around that ban. that won't work. they will know it's you unless you create something that's called a stealth account. but you are allowed to have multiple accounts and if you add all three of these up, you're going to get about 183 000 for the quarter. so sales or revenue for the quarter was 183 000 and keep in mind, this does not include the taxes collect my ebay. i've already subtracted these out, so it's not a bad quarter. but if you recall from my other videos, this quarter is actually much less than my previous two and even though you know 4q is supposed to be one of the best quarters for you know, retail and selling, there's been a lot of challenges this quarter. so the main reason why sales have been slower this quarter is because i actually had a pause selling on my accounts due to amazon issues and when you pause selling your accounts after you resume selling, you won't make as many sales as before. this is, unfortunately, really true. so when you put your store in vacation mode on ebay, what it does is it effectively stops the sales on your account. now you would think that if they built this functionality into ebay that it would work correctly. but it doesn't, because what should happen is, once your vacation is over, you turn vacation mode off, which should then pretty much have you pick up exactly where you left off. in other words, your sales should just start rolling back in, but they don't. i don't know why this function is just kind of broken or glitchy on ebay. everyone knows it's a problem and it stinks. that shouldn't be the way that it is. that's why, even though i have put my store in vacation mode in the past, i kind of got lucky and sales were okay after vacation mode was turned off. but for most people they're not, and i do not suggest you ever use vacation mode on ebay. instead, what you should do is raise the price of your items or lower the stok or increase the handling time or do all of those to just kind of slow down sales significantly, almost to zero, while you kind of go on vacation or d.

I Compared Amazon Vs eBay: Here's What Will Make You 100K Faster

a common question I often get asked is whether to start your eCommerce business, selling on Amazon versus eBay, and which Marketplace will make you more money. however, the answer isn't clear-cut and depends on the nature of the products that you sell. now, over the years, my wife and I have sold on Amazon, eBay as well as our own online store, and while we've been successful selling on all three platforms, there are distinct pros and cons with each. now this video will provide you with a thorough breakdown and comparison of Amazon versus eBay and help you determine which Marketplace is better suited for you. foreign [Music] Marketplace is over 46 x larger than eBay and, as of last year, Amazon's annual revenue was 469 billion dollars, whereas eBay only made 10.42 billion. now, these numbers are slightly skewed because they include Amazon's web services platform, which makes about 10 of their revenues, but regardless, Amazon dwarfs eBay when it comes to e-commerce sales. in addition, eBay's Revenue has been flat for the past five years, whereas Amazon has been growing 30 percent year over year. now, in terms of raw users, Amazon has about 310 million customers, whereas eBay only has 167 million. now, on the surface, it might seem as though Amazon only has 2x the number of customers compared to eBay, but these user numbers don't pay an accurate picture. because of Amazon Prime, not only does Amazon have 2X the amount of shoppers, but their customers are much more loyal as well. now, out of Amazon's 310 million users, over 100 million are Amazon Prime members, and they're extremely active on the platform. here's some crazy facts about Amazon to give you as an idea of how fanatikal their user base is: 46 of Shoppers start their shopping Journey on Amazon, compared to only 34.6 percent on Google. 95 million people pay money for Amazon Prime memberships. in the us alone, the average Amazon Prime member spends thirteen hundred dollars every year, and the average Amazon non-prime member spends 700 every year. over fifty percent of Amazon sales are from third-party Sellers and ninety percent of consumers check Amazon selection or prices before buying a product on a Retailer's website. now, in my experience, you will easily make 10 to 15 x more selling on Amazon versus eBay. in fact, with bumblebee Linens, we primarily sell on eBay to liquidate our irregular Goods, whereas we make six figures per year selling on Amazon alone. so the advantage here goes to Amazon. now, which Marketplace is more competitive, Amazon or Ebay? well, selling on eBay is harder and more competitive than selling on Amazon, because Amazon has three x viewer sellers serving a Marketplace that is 46 times larger. now Amazon has over 6.3 million sellers on their platform across all marketplaces, and this number continues to increase at a clip of 100K new users per month. meanwhile, eBay has over 20 million sellers on their platform with over 1.1 billion live listings. now, even though eBay has over 3x number of sellers, if you do the math, most eBay sellers make next to nothing in terms of Revenue. 10.76 billion dollars in annual revenue divided by 20 million sellers means that the average eBay seller makes about 538 dollars per year. meanwhile, many Amazon sellers are crushing it. here are just some startling statistiks regarding Amazon sellers. they're about 25 000 Amazon sellers generating over a million dollars in annual sales. there are two hundred thousand sellers making over 100k in sales. so, while Amazon currently has less sellers on eBay, their seller base is growing exponentially every year, and many of these new sellers are based in China. in addition, Amazon sells their own private label Brands which compete directly with third-party sellers. now, in the past, Amazon has been known to unfairly feature their own products in the search results over similar items sold by third-party sellers. meanwhile, eBay is just some Marketplace and does not sell products of their own. so, overall, providing a competitive assessment of the market between Amazon versus eBay is kind of a tough call, but because Amazon has fewer sellers, serving a Marketplace that is 46 times larger than eBay, I give Amazon the edge here. it is easier to make significant money selling on Amazon versus eBay. now which Marketplace has lower selling fees- Amazon or Ebay? now, in general, selling an Amazon is cheaper than selling on eBay because Amazon offers incredibly low shipping rates. however, the exact selling fees depend on what you sell. now, when it comes to comparing selling fees between Amazon- eBay, it can be difficult to provide an Apples to Apples comparison, because Amazon FBA throws a wrench into the calculations. now, first off, the majority of successful sellers on Amazon are using FBA, which means that they're using Amazon services to store and fulfill their products. eBay, on the other hand, does not offer fulfillment services, so you are forced to store and ship out your own products. now, having to store and ship your own products is a key factor because you're in individual shipping costs will likely be higher than Amazon's negotiated rates, which can greatly affect your overall selling costs regardless. here are the assumptions I'm making for this Amazon versus eBay fee comparison. so let's say the Amazon seller is using FBA with a professional seller's account. now an eBay seller pays about 2.9 percent plus 30 cents for credit card processing, and then seller storage and Transit fees to Amazon's Warehouse are not factored into numbers. now, the reason I'm not factoring Transit fees to Amazon's Warehouse is because most seasoned Merchants send their goods directly to Amazon, straight from the manufacturer. now, when you saw on eBay, you have four main costs: you have to pay 35 cents to sell your goods, you have to pay a 10 final value fee on your goods and you finally have to pay a 2.9 plus 30 credit card processing fee. you also have to pay for packaging and shipping of your product to the end user. but when you sell an Amazon FBA, you have two main costs. you have to pay Amazon a 15 commission fee, which includes credit card processing fees, and you also have to pay Amazon a fulfillment fee, which varies depending on the size and weight of your product. now for this example, I'm using a set of handkerchiefs- which is what we sell- which can be shipped in a lightweight box that weighs less than 13 ounces and sells for 20 bucks. now the packaging for shipping is obtained for free via USPS. all right. so let's do the comparison now. if you look at this table right here, for something that sells for 20 bucks, it's actually cheaper to sell on Amazon by about 60 cents. now, overall, the cost of selling on eBay for my handkerchiefs is about 11 higher than Amazon. when you fact factor in the cost of shipping now for larger items, the shipping discrepancy widens because Amazon has negotiated such incredibly low shipping rates with its shipping carriers. so, bottom line, selling on Amazon is actually cheaper than selling on eBay. now, which Marketplace is easier to manage, Amazon or Ebay? selling on Amazon is much easier to manage and scale than selling on eBay, because Amazon offers FBA. managing Amazon sales is as simple as sending your goods into their warehouse and just collecting your money. Amazon manages your shipping, your fulfillment and your customer service, and you rarely have to interact with the End customer. meanwhile, when you sell on eBay, you first have to wait for the customer to pay- sometimes a customer will flake out on the transaction and you may have to re-list your item online- and then you actually have to physically ship the product to the customer. now, from my experience, eBay customers are offering high maintenance. there's a lot more customer service involved than managing an Amazon store, and when you factor in the cost of having to store and personally ship out your goods for eBay customers, the answer becomes Crystal Clear. running an Amazon business requires much less work than selling an eBay. now, the only downside to using Amazon FB.

Should You Sell On eBay Or Amazon In 2023?

let me ask you a question: would you rather sell your product on a marketplace that has 310 active users or 182 million active users? now, if you said the 310 million active users, i don't blame you, but have you thought about the fees? have you thought about the existing competition? and then, lastly, have you thought about how you're actually going to fulfill those orders? because guess what all of it matters. [Music]. what's up, guys? welcome back to the channel, and today i'm going to be answering the most important question that you might have as a beginner e-commerce seller, and that is: should i sell on ebay or should i sell on amazon? well, don't worry, guys, because today i'm going to answer that question for you: on which platform you should begin using as a beginner e-commerce seller. before we get started, i want to say that everyone's situation is going to be different, and you can't exactly say that ebay or amazon is better than one another for every scenario. what i am gonna do today is cover the key differences between ebay and amazon. i'm gonna walk through some examples where one platform may actually be better than the other, and then i'm gonna finish it all off with my overall recommendation on which platform is going to be best for you and your specific situation. so, going back to the question that i first asked in the intro: which marketplace do you think has more active users? so amazon has 310 million active users, far surpassing ebay's amount of active users. ebay currently has around 182 to 200 million active users. this is based on a year or two delayed data, but i believe that this data is still relative to the time that we're looking at right now. so, when you first think about it, you want to sell on the platform that has the larger market, because it's more exposure for your product and more users using that platform to potentially purchase your product. now the thing is: is selling on amazon? you're going to have more competition. there are more active sellers than there are on ebay and, in addition, you're also competing directly with amazon. so, as you're aware, i'm sure that you've seen the amazon basic products. they've covered everything from kitchen, uh, to appliances, to electronics, just about everything that you can imagine. amazon has a product for that. so, on ebay, you're not actually competing with ebay or you're not competing with amazon. who you're competing with are other individual sellers, merchant sellers, and it makes it far less competitive versus selling on amazon. next, looking at the product listings, overall, it's a lot more difficult to sell on amazon. so you required a barcode, a upc or ean to even begin creating your listing. and once you've created your listing, after doing a bunch of different steps, you're going to run into the approval process, which is pretty cumbersome and actually can be delayed, and it could take up to 24 to 48 hours just to gain approval. switching gears over to ebay, it is much simpler to actually go ahead, create a listing and to have it published on their marketplace. um, something else to note for ebay is that you're not gonna be required to put the barcode, the upc, on your product just to create your listing, like amazon requires. so last thing i do want to mention for amazon is you're going to actually have more branding opportunities on amazon versus ebay, enabling these branding opportunities for your product listing page, as i'm showing you guys here, this is going to give you guys a much more credible way of connecting with your consumer and hopefully that will end up converting to a sale. all right, there's one more topic that i want to discuss and to compare between ebay and amazon, before we get into some example scenarios which i think will really help you nail this down and to figure out for yourself which is best for you. and that is the overview of our fees that we're going to be seeing on ebay and amazon. so, on ebay, the fees are actually fairly simple to understand. you're going to be charged roughly a ten percent fee just for using their platform, when you go ahead and you actually make a sale. so if you sell something for ten dollars, you're gonna be asked to pay one dollar to ebay as a commission for using their platform. in addition, if you opt into using paypal- and more than likely you're almost forced into doing that- you're going to be asked to pay a 2.9 percent processing fee to paypal, plus an additional 30 cents. so it is a small amount, but it is something else you have to consider. and then, lastly, you're also going to pay some shipping fees, since there isn't a fulfillment service that ebay provides. okay, and over to amazon, where you do have a couple more options, which makes this- the fee pricing structure- a little bit more complex in comparison to ebay. so, for amazon, regardless which fulfillment method you use- which i'll get into that here in a second- you're going to be charged roughly 15, depending on your product category. it can be loaded as low as 8, but more than likely you're going to see 15 um. also, there's also going to be membership fees. so just for being a seller using amazon, you're going to be charged either 99 cents per sale or, if you opt into the professional membership, you're going to be charged 39.99 each month. ebay does not have a membership fee, so you can create an account on ebay, you can go ahead and list some products and if you don't sell anything, you don't lose any money. you only pay fees to ebay when you actually make a sale. the last thing i want to mention is what i mentioned before is the fulfillment method for amazon, which is definitely a pro for amazon because you can actually opt into using their own fulfillment services or fulfillment by amazon fba. essentially a quick recap of what fba is and i focus my channel primarily on this topic. essentially, you send your product to amazon and you allow them to ship the product to the customer when you make a sale and then they'll also handle the customer service, uh portion of that. now, in doing so, obviously you have to pay them a fee, an fba fee, which is going to range anywhere from 10 to, honestly, 25 um, but we're going to use a calculator, and that brings us to a good transition point over to the examples that we're going to take a look at now. okay, so the first graph that you're seeing here is the one unit per month. so this is assuming, in comparing between amazon, ebay, um of us actually just selling one unit to determine what our profit margin is going to be and the total profit that we'll make from selling those amount of units. as i mentioned the second and third one, we're going to look at 20 units and 100 units coming up. but let's just take a look at this for now and we can get to those and i can give you my recommendation on which is best, depending on the amount of units that you're going to be selling each month. so, down here, looking at the data, we're gonna have a revenue of ten dollars. so we're selling this one product for ten dollars and the amount of fees are going to be shown right here, which i have highlighted. so there's gonna be the cost of goods. we're gonna say it's a dollar fifty to procure this item. it's going to be the same on amazon, ebay. it's the same product right next is the referral fee. remember that amazon charges 15 for the total sale and ebay charges 10, so that's why you see the difference there. second is the processing fees. there are no transaction fees associated with amazon selling on their- their platform. however, on ebay, if you're opting into using paypal, you're going to be charged that 2.9 plus the 30 additional 30 cents. second is shipping. we're gonna assume that we're fulfilling this ourselves, since it's just one unit. it's two dollars and fifty cents. um. and then the next one is membership fees. for this amazon, i'm gonna assume that we're using an individual account, so we pay 99 cents per sale and ebay. there's no other fees that are similar to this. and then, lastly, for our shipping supplies, think of this as tape boxes and, uh, printing paper for labels, uh.

Amazon vs. eBay Dropshipping - Which is Better!? - Online Business - Reliable Education

i think the thing for me about amazon was, uh, just the how hands off you can be with it. being a small business owner, i've had electrical company for near on 19 years and it's the old ad is time for money. and immediately you have a massive marketplace in most bricks and mortar businesses. you've got to establish your clientele, you've got to build that. amazon offers that to you basically on a silver platter. everything is done by them. my goal and big plan is to be able to live anywhere in the world, run a business from this and with amazon. i can do that with amazon. like our goal is to be able to travel and help people and to know that we can travel and have that freedom, work and help people all at the same time. that's that's why we chose amazon, and i heard about the online space and i was excited about it. but i didn't want to have to sit there, write an addresses, stiker things in packets and also, just there, the, the level that they're growing at and the speed at which they're growing at. it's yeah, just to be able to jump on that wave and ride it with them, having someone else sort of pushing the whole thing along. that's that's appealing to me. there's no rent, there's no staff, there's no dramas, i don't even have to try and get the products to people, i don't have to deal with my own courier issues, and i just absolutely love um, the whole concept and re2- just amazing course, and amazon was just easy. and it's such a big company that it works- why not? and there's a science to doing it. well, and i think that's what really got me in is, you know, i've been around lots of other courses and things and multi-level marketing and all these sorts of things that are supposed to get you rich quick. and when this was like this will be really hard and it'll get you rich slow, but you will get there and you get. a lot of people are going to want to give up, but if you stik it out, this'll work. all you have to do is play the game, follow the rules and, you know, work hard at it, just like anything else. but in terms of risk- and i've i've been in many different ventures and you know there's no comparison and that's that's why i'm doing this. i want to build businesses, i want to build brands, exit them and use that money to invest in other areas- commercial property, or sit on a beach and relax. if you enjoyed that video, please hit the subscribe button as well as the little bell that's sitting on the screen around here, so that you get notified whenever we drop a new video. thanks for watching, bye.
