Shopify Basic Vs Shopify Plus (Shopify Plans Difference Explained)

so what are the differences between shopify basic versus shopify plus? that's what i'm going to be toking about in this video. all in all, if i really need to make one statement upon the comparison, shopify basic is going to be great for anyone who is just getting started. when it comes to e-commerce, you want a lot of the basic things. you might not have a lot of experience, maybe you've made a few sales, but not too many. then basic is going to be great for you. the good thing about basic is that it does come with a free trial. i'll put a link down below. you don't even need a card to get started, so you can kind of go and navigate around and make the best of what they give you. then, on the other side, shopify plus is going to be perfect. if you are looking to seriously scale. you already have done a ton of sales. maybe you're already using shopify. you can obviously upgrade to that and personally you're doing very well. in a nutshell, as you can see on the screen right here, this is just an example of toking about. if you're using shopify, you can upgrade to getting much more. but on another aspect of the page, they compare the basic versus, well, everything else. so if you look at the column on the left, right here we have the basic shopify- all the basics for starting a new business. then when you go to the right side, we have shopify plus- powerful features for complex, high volume businesses- and that starts at two thousand dollars a month, kind of like what i was toking about before. there is a huge difference when it comes to twenty nine dollars per month versus two thousand dollars per month. there's a reason why it's basic and it's twenty nine dollars per month. given the fact you're probably getting started, a lot of people who have just gotten into shopify aren't going to want to start at shopify plus. you're just going to be really big in the hole. like i said, it's great for high volume. you're doing well, you're scaling and pretty much if 2000 a month isn't a big deal to you, a lot of the perks that you're going to get are gonna obviously help you. you know, get that back and make even more sales. but when we go from this to the left, to the right side, you'll see that you still get online stores, unlimited products, bandwidth and transactions for staff accounts instead of two, you now have unlimited. like i said, if you're doing high volume, big business. that's going to be very helpful. you get sales channels: locations is up to four with the plus, you get up to 20.. then all these are going to be the same right here. you have manual order creation, discount codes, ssl certificate, abandoned cart recovery, gift cards, but no professional reports. you do get that with the plus. no advanced report builder: you get that with the plus. third party calculated shipping rates is just going to be with plus. you get nine free expansion stores: shopify organization, admin, shopify flow, shopify scripts, launch pad. you get so much more as you can see here, and that's just with the features section. there's going to be more when it comes to the point of sale: uh, shopify, pos lite and the pos pro, which is store management tools and omni channel features essential for brick and mortar businesses. usually that's going to be plus 89 dollars per month. this is going to be free, probably given the fact you're already paying a good amount per month. global selling: uh, pretty much everything's going to be the same, except for multiple languages. you can now choose up to 20.. once again, this goes hand in hand when it comes to scaling and just doing so much more, because with this you know you can't really do that. you don't have that option. you just got one, but up to 20 you can really go big. when it comes to selling ecommerce support, you pretty much get all the really good stuff here. so you get shopify plus priority support, merchant success program plus partners, shopify plus certified app partners, shopify plus academy beta programs and, of course, the shopify plus facebook community, none of which you like. you don't get with the basics. so, as you can see, there is going to be a huge difference. basic is going to be: if you're just getting started, you want to get your feet wet. maybe you've made a few sales, maybe you want to start with shopify. that'll be great for you. once again, i'll put a link down below free trial, no car needed, and then, once you really start doing well, heck, you could probably look into shopify or advanced shopify. you know you'd probably want to go on to those and then this is going to be the biggest and best for those companies doing a ton of volume. okay, so i hope that explained everything for you. when it comes to shopify basic, for shopify plus, it's pretty much the beginners versus the elite. you know, advanced, grizzled veterans doing very well. thank you so much for watching. if you want to check out shopify, the link is down below- and have a great day.

Shopify Basic Plan Features Review (Shopify Basic Vs Advanced)

hello and welcome to this shopify basic plan features review video where i'm going to be going over some of the features, toking about them, as well as comparing shopify basic to the shopify advance plan- pretty much their starting one to one of their biggest. now, before we continue, in case you're not familiar with the pricing and how they get started, you can actually set up your store and pick a plan later. what i like about shopify is they actually come with a free 14 day trial and you don't even need a card. so if you want to check that out, i will put a link in the description. keep in mind, at the time of creating this video, they currently have a special deal. i don't want to tok about it too much because it eventually goes away and a lot of people get confused, so feel free to check that out. now, when it comes to the plans, there is the basic, so best for new e-commerce businesses with occasional in-person sales. i do want to say right off the bat: if you're pretty much just getting started or you only have a few sales under your belt, basic is going to be a phenomenal place to get started. 29 per month isn't a whole lot, especially when it comes to running an e-commerce business or just a business in general, when you compare anything online to doing offline things, like you know, brick and mortar businesses and you got to pay rent and overhead and just there's so many more expenses that go into it compared to, like, shopify and online business. so that's a really good thing. you'll notike that as you continue on, the online card rates are going to decline a little. so with basic, you have 2.9 plus 30 cents, then you have 2.6 and then you have 2.4. in person is going to be a little bit less, so you have 2.7, 2.5 and 2.4. so if we were comparing basic to advanced, obviously, as we toked about, this is going to be the best for new e-commerce businesses with occasional in-person sales, and advanced is definitely someone who's more of a grizzled veteran- or at least on their way to becoming one- best for scaling businesses that require advanced reporting. so if you're in the process of scaling, you're selling a lot. advance is going to be one of those plans that you're probably going to want to look into- whether it's going to be that or the shopify one, which is also if you're selling and growing, but really depends on where you are and what you need, so let's tok about that more. in terms of the plan features, let's scroll down so, as you can see, we got a nice little box here. we're looking at the basics, so a lot of these are going to be similar, with the check mark, so you get your online store unlimited products. staff accounts is going to be different, so it starts off with two, so, which isn't bad, you at least get some. then it goes to 5 and 15, where that's going to be really helpful if you need that scalability and more staff. overall, you're always getting 24: 7 support in sales channels, but when it comes to inventory locations, you can have up to four or five or eight- once again, the biggest for scaling. of course, a lot of these are going to be all checked off, which is good. so you get manual order creation, discount codes, free ssl certificate, which is pretty much like fundamental nowadays. i think almost every website is going to need one of those, especially if you want to sell, but it's at least nice that they have it. i've seen like hosting companies that make you pay for it, which is kind of annoying, but abandoned cart recovery, which is good. gift cards reports. you're getting basic standard in advance, which is kind of you know what you accept when it comes to the best gets the best right. so third-party calculated shipping rates are only going to be for the last plan here, as you can see, which is called the advanced. and then we have customer segmentation, marketing automation, unlimited contacts, and you don't get e-commerce automations for basic, but you do in the other plans. when it comes to shipping, you get discounts up to 77, up to 88 and, of course, up to 88. those are going to be the same. you got shipping labels. a big thing here is that you don't get priority mail cubic pricing and you don't get parcel select cubic pricing. that's going to be for the basics. so when it comes to payments, there's going to be fraud analysis, which is always a good thing to have. we toked about the rates previously, okay. then there's going to be international mx rates going to be a little bit different in person, which we toked about as well. those decline as you move up, of course, third party fees on transactions not processed through shopify payments. you have two percent, one percent and point five. once again, this is a pretty big deal, although it's only what 1.5 difference when you are scaling and doing a ton of sales that's really going to add up over time. so that's a big reason why if you're doing a lot of volume, you're really scaling that you'd want to look into the advanced, whereas if someone who's just starting off, you know two percent here and there isn't as big deal, but once you really start stacking on those sales it's going to make a really big deal. point of sale: you get shopify pos light and you get pos pro. if you want to add plus 89 a month, it says choose locations to upgrade the pos pro for faster workflows, staff permissions and advanced inventory tools. so that's a little bit of an extra. you can upgrade for either or those and it's all going to be the same. so, international commerce: you get market management domains and subfolders, language translation, currency conversion, local payment methods, but duties and import taxes and custom pricing by market is going to be for the advanced okay. so all in all, when you compare the basic to the advanced, it's going to be really simple. like someone who just started online isn't going to be needing this. it's just too much horsepower, so to speak. there's way too much features and benefits for someone who doesn't need it, who's selling a few items here and there. but you can start off with the basic and then usually you're going to want to go to the shopify, unless you really start ramping things up and need to move to advance. but obviously you're going to be the co-pilot of your own business and how things are going, so you'll easily be able to see what's going to be best for you. overall, basic is great for getting started and then you can upgrade going on past there. so that's pretty much an overview of the basic plan and kind of SHOPIFY PLANS EXPLAINED Shopify Lite VS Shopify Basic VS Shopify VS Shopify Advanced VS Shopify Plus

all right, you might be wondering which of these shopify plans should i actually choose? or, alternatively, hey, i'm using a shopify plan. why would i ever upgrade to a more expensive plan? well, follow along in this video because i'm going to explain to you the different types of shopify plans- when it makes sense to upgrade, when you're losing money because you're not upgrading, and the basic difference between each and every one of them. the first one is shopify lite. shopify lite is nine dollars a month and basically just gives you a buy now button. this is fantastik for people that want to inventory and customer management system of shopify, but that are more comfortable with another website creator software, other website creator software. you might be asking: what else can you really have out there? well, maybe you have a wordpress blog that has really really high seo rankings and you don't want to lose that and you really like your custom wordpress blog. or maybe you want to put your buy now button on a completely different website from someone else. you can do that with the shopify lite plan. now, before we continue, it is really important you understand the difference between transaction fees and credit card fees. to keep it simple, transaction fees are basically the fees that the company that provides your online store charges, while credit card fees depend from your payment gateway. so different payment gateways are gonna charge different credit card fees. okay, so for the shopify light plan, that was the 9 us dollars fix a month and then you're going to get a uh 2.9 percentage plus 30 credit card fees if you use the shopify payment gateway. if you don't use the shopify payment gateway- for example, you use paypal or braintree or really any other payment gateways- right then you're going to be paying the credit card fees of that payment gateway- for example, stripe, plus a two percent additional fee that shopify is going to charge you for using another payment gateway instead of their own. shopify is making that dough on that, on those credit card fees. so if you're leaving to another payment gateway, they're gonna make sure that they charge you. okay, but for most people, shopify lights- really, how are you really gonna use it? most people are gonna be using the basic shopify version. this is where you can actually have all your inventory management, all your client management, all your order management, but you can also have the shopify website builder, which is what you most likely want. frankly, if you are starting an online store, this is really the plan for you. it makes it super easy to start an online website, to build that online website. it gives you a whole bunch of features. i'm not gonna name them all out, i'm just gonna lay them out right here, and you should know that all of this is gonna cost you the classic 29 a month for shopify, but there are some additions to this. this is also the plan where you can install apps. you have over like 5 000 apps you can install, some paid, some are free, where you can have different themes and for credit card and transaction fees. we're basically following this model right here, which is exactly the same as the shopify lite. now we're moving up to 50 dollars a month to the shopify plan, not the basic, just call shopify plan. okay, wait, andrew, why would i start paying more if shopify basic gives me a lot already? well, that's where the key of this entire video lies: transaction fees and credit card fees. so that's basically the gist of this entire video about shopify plans. as you move up in the shopify plans, yes, you get more features and that's a lot of fun and we'll cover those in detail. but as you move up, your transaction and credit card fees are going down. so, yes, you might be paying more months, but your cost per transaction is going down. so at some point, if you're doing enough sales, that base fee covers what you're saving in transaction. for example, on the shopify plan, if you use shopify as your payment gateway, the credit card fee just dropped from 2.9 to 2.6 percent plus 30 cents per transaction. okay, so, besides lower credit card fees, what does the shopify plan have as an advantage? well, you have advanced reporting, which is really quite useful, especially if you work in a slightly bigger team where you have to communicate. having nice reports that are detailed and outlined really is a benefit there. in addition to this, you can also sell in multiple languages with the shopify plan. that what you could only do in the shopify basic plan with certain apps and add-ons, and it gets a little bit more tricky. in the shopify plan. you can do it with five languages out of the box and it gives you a custom url, let's say wwwamazoncom- german. also. this might be interesting if you're shipping with usps and your requirements of the packages that you're shipping out are less than these two things. i think it's 20 pounds and 0.5 cubic cubic square feet. is that possible anyway. in those cases, shopify gives you a usps discount so you can save on shipping as well. okay, now that we've seen the shopify lite, shopify, basic, shopify, shopify, we're gonna look at the shopify advanced one. so remember that in all the other plans we toked about the transaction fees and the credit card fees. well, in the shopify advance plans, these one drop yet again. so this were the fee for the shopify plan and these are the fees right now for the shopify advanced plans. you're saving some money again, depending on how big yourself. the price tag for the shopify advanced plan is 299 us a month. okay, besides saving money on transaction fees and credit card fees, what else do you really get with the advancement? well, you get significantly better reporting. so, again, if you're in big organizations and reporting is a must for easy communications between departments, then this is getting really interested. so another reason why we advise our clients to move up to the shopify advanced plan is the real time shipper display fees. so this means that the shipping rates are automatikally going to be calculated correctly at checkout, so you don't have to like create zones and do like a bulk amount. no, no, no. shopify now toks directly to the shipper and gives you the correct rates onto your ship or your correct rates. now i can already hear you say: andrew, i have a lower version of the shopify advance plan, i just have a shopify basic. yet i also have real time carrier rates in my checkout, and that is true. but there is one major difference in it is that you can only do that with carriers that shopify has a partnership with, while on the shopify advance plan you can have it with all carriers anywhere in the world. so that's kind of where the handoff happens. and then we arrive at the shopify plus plan. well, the shopify plus plan actually really only makes sense once you start selling for north of 1.4- 1.2 billion dollars- you a billion, golly million dollars us per year. so if you're being selling like 1.6 million dollars a year in transactions on your shopify store, then you should be shopify plus, because otherwise you're leaving money on the table, like literally. now the price tag for this shopify plus is: shopify is going to tell you that it's negotiable and we kind of got to have a tok together, you and i. but the reality is we serve about 90 shopify plus stores and it's usually two thousand dollars per month, maybe a little bit more. it starts at two thousand dollars per month. let's just put it that way now. maybe if you're selling a billion a month, it's gonna go even up and the transaction fees are gonna go even down. i don't know, but you can calculate 2 000 us a month for shopify plus. one partikular thing about shopify plus it is that it actually comes with a one year agreement, so you're gonna need to sign some some papers now. remember that we were toking about the credit card fees and the transaction fees for shopify advance, and really this is the main kicker. this was for the shopify advance plan and this is for the shopify plus plan. right, hey, now what are some?

Shopify vs Shopify Plus - What is the Difference? Review and Comparison: Pros and Cons

How much money do you want to make if you can increase with a one click upsell on Shopify? check out your your average order volume by 30. you just made 30 percent more money. Hello everybody, welcome to Surge. This week we will tok about Shopify versus Shopify Plus and the different functionalities and pros and cons with both options. Now, Joe, we have a bunch of clients on Shopify. We have some clients on Shopify Plus and we get this question a lot. There might be a client that is doing one million, 1.5, $2 million on Shopify Pro and they say, "Well, should I move to Shopify Plus? is it worth it"? Why don't you tell us shortly about the differences between the functionalities of Shopify and Shopify Plus? and then we want to tok about some of the really, really important functionalities that one should have on Shopify. So the biggest thing that comes to mind is the ability to optimize the checkout, which we know from a conversion rate optimization standpoint is huge. Earlier you were toking about other tax benefits that you have using systems like Avalara and things like that that are far more complex on Shopify Plus rather than a Shopify Pro. Yes, So there are different functionalities- One of the top functionalities we've actually built for Shopify Plus- you have to be on Shopify Plus to do it because you have to edit the checkout- is e-signature functionality. We work with software companies, We work with appliance companies who sell warranties, where they need to dynamically display an agreement on the checkout and dynamically fill that agreement with the product details, shipping address, customer's name and last name and to be signed in the checkout. So that's one thing that you have to have to be able to make that functionality possible, which is Shopify Plus. You have post-checkout upsells that you can do on Shopify Plus. However, you don't have one-click upsells because for the one-click upsell you have to be able to alter the checkout. You have to be able to add custom fields to the checkout. So only Shopify Plus allows you access to the checkout SDK. The regular Shopify does not. As a business owner, I'm doing one to $5 million, maybe five on the high end. At what point in time is it time for me to go over to Shopify Plus? When have I outgrown Shopify Pro? I think that you're outgrowing Shopify Pro at about maybe $1.5 million. but the biggest issue with Shopify Plus is the price. It has a minimum 2,000 to $2,500 per month fee that you need to pay. You're thinking: "Is it worth it just to be able to edit the checkout". What a lot of people don't know is the fact that Shopify Plus actually gives you better rates on the credit card. so you offset- Let's say it's $2,000 a month, That's $24,000 a year. You can actually probably offset half of that because you're going to a lower rate if you keep your merchant account with Shopify, because they can give you better rates than Stripe, Braintree, AuthorizeNet and a couple of other providers for the volume that you are doing. That's what a lot of people don't understand, Absolutely. I would assume that a lot of business owners are hesitant to move over to Shopify Plus mainly because of that $2,000 a month, not knowing that Shopify Plus has better rates than, like you said, Stripe, Braintree, et cetera. Shopify Plus gives you a lot more freedom in terms of the type of functionality you can implement and what you can customize, and on Shopify Pro, you're more restraint. Again, it's very important. I think Shopify Plus is big for B2B functionalities and a lot of businesses don't also know that You can manage multiple stores with Shopify Plus from one admin. You can integrate your inventory and your products and your pricing from one admin. You can have multi-ship to with Shopify Plus. if you're doing any kind of gifts, if you're doing any kind of B2B, You can put terms on your checkout. otherwise you cannot. What if I want to create a customer group and I want to give that customer group- let's call them VIP customer group- net 30 and net 60 terms? Then that, in return, is going to integrate with my ERP or with my NetSuite or with my Zoho or whatever. So I can tok about two, any other functionalities like this. Another one, for example, is the CBD industry just passed. I mean not the CBD industry, but there was a law recently that was passed where you cannot ship CBD to residential addresses. You have to ship to commercial addresses. So now you have to use a third party API and on the checkout you have to validate if an address is residential or commercial. If it's- Residential, residential, you have to show a message saying "Look, we cannot ship to it, You have to enter a commercial address". So there are tons of functionalities like this and Shopify Plus makes it possible. Just being able to edit that checkout actually opens a bunch of functionalities, not to mention the fact that your website is going to run faster because Shopify Plus clients are on semi-dedicated servers. So we've been toking a lot about how Shopify Plus is so much better than Shopify Pro. As a business owner doing anywhere between 1.5 and above, it doesn't make sense for you to be on Shopify Pro at that moment in time. When does it make sense for a business to use Shopify pro If you're just selling a couple of products, no options, you don't have any B2B, you don't really need to optimize the checkout. you're in a niche industry. you don't need Shopify Plus. You don't. You're only going to need it. and as your business volume grows Again, how much money do you want to make? If you can increase, with a one-click upsell on Shopify checkout, your average order volume by 30%, you just made 30% more money. Which means, if you were doing 1.5, now you're doing two, That's a $500,000 difference. If that functionality is available to you, that you can build it for $5,000, another $24,000 for Shopify Plus. that's $29,000. If you ask me, I'll spend $29,000 to make half a million dollars any day, Absolutely. Not to mention that I'm increasing the bottom line for the number of new client acquisitions that I'm getting. This is the thing. A lot of people look at it as an expense. They say, "Oh, wow, man, we're doing great, I'm not going to spend $29,000 right now". That's why, in the earlier session, Joe was saying: "Well, we need to be able to put an ROI, a return on your investment, on any functionality and feature". That's why I think Shopify Plus makes sense Absolutely. So I think, there you have it. If you're a Shopify business store owner and you're doing anywhere between one to $1.5 million, it's time to make the move to Shopify Plus.

Ways You Are Overpaying For Shopify Without Realizing It

when it comes to starting your own online store. shopify is one of the best ecommerce platforms out there, but the main problem with shopify is that it can be hard to decide which shopify plan to go with, or how much it really costs when you factor in the cost of third-party apps. now, the right shopify plan for your online store depends on a variety of factors, which include your monthly revenue, your required feature set and your customization needs. now this video will enumerate all the costs and benefits for each shopify plan and prevent you from wasting money on unnecessary features, and my ultimate goal here is to help you understand how much shopify costs and choose the cheapest possible shopify pricing plan that meets your minimum requirements. now, the first question i always get asked is: is shopify free? shopify is not free, but they do offer a 14 day free trial, and during this free trial, you can build an online store and have access to all their tools. however, in order to take transactions online, you have to sign up for a paid plan, and right now, shopify offers five plans. there's shopify lite and nine bucks a month, shopify basic at 29 a month, shopify regular at 79 a month, shopify advanced at 2.99 a month. and shopify plus, which costs over 2 000 a month. now, which shopify plan should you choose now? the following table here is actually taken directly from shopify's website and enumerates all the features for each pricing plan. if you look at this table, you notike a couple things. first of all, the shopify lite plan and the shopify plus plan are missing, and the reason is because the shopify plus plan and the lite plan have very specific use cases which i'll discuss in depth later on this video. second of all, there's actually very little difference between the basic, regular and advanced plans outside of a couple of features and processing fees. so, as a result, your decision between shopify basic, regular and advanced primarily depends on your monthly sales volume and how much you value the extra features versus paying for third-party apps. alright, so here are the features available on all shopify pricing plans. now they all offer abandoned cart recovery, and abandoned cart recovery is a feature where your shopping cart automatikally reaches out to customers who abandon their cart and convince them to complete their purchase. now, shopify's built-in abandoned cart recovery feature is extremely limited because it only allows you to send a single email to customers and, realistikally, any serious ecommerce store owner will use a third-party abandoned cart recovery solution, like clayview. all shopify plans also offer a point of sale solution as well. shopify pos, or point of sale, is their point of sale solution that allows you to access in-person payments at pop-ups, markets, fairs and trade shows. and then, finally, all shopify plans offer a free ssl certificate, discount codes, real-time carrier shipping quotes and unlimited products. now let's tok about the plans. if you have a website and you want to sell just a couple of products, then shopify lite is for you, and it's nine bucks a month. so if you run a popular blog or an existing website and simply want to just add the ability to sell a couple products here and there, then the light plan is for you. the light plan costs nine bucks a month. it allows you to sell on facebook and on your own site through the use of custom buy buttons. now, the important thing to realize about shopify lite is that this plan does not provide you with an online store website. in fact, the lite plan is only for people who already have their own website and would like to accept transactions online. so, for example, if i want to sell widgets on mywifecritterjobcom, i might want to sign up for the shopify lite plan so i can include buy buttons on my blog to sell my products. now if i had a popular facebook page or group, i might want to sign up for shopify lite to sell directly on facebook. so bottom line: the shopify lite plan is only for people who already have a website and would like to accept transactions online, and in addition to the nine dollars a month fee, you'll also have to pay 2.9 percent plus 30 cents in credit card transaction fees if you use shopify payments. now, if your online store makes less than 16 333 dollars per month, go with shopify basic and for more stores out there, the basic plan makes the most economical sense until you start generating more than sixteen thousand three hundred and thirty three dollars in monthly revenue. now here's how to calculate the break-even point: the basic shopify plan charges 2.9 percent plus 30 cents in credit card transaction fees, whereas the main shopify plan charges 2.6 plus 30 cents in credit card transaction fees. that is a difference of 0.3 percent on fees. now the main shopify plan costs 79, whereas the basic shopify plan costs only 29, a difference of 50 bucks. now to make up for that fifty dollar difference in cost, you have to process fifty dollars divided by point three percent or sixteen thousand three hundred thirty three dollars to break even in terms of credit card fees. now feature wise. the one major difference between the main shopify plan and the basic plan is that the main plan offers gift cards and an advanced report builder. now, at first glance, the lack of gift card capability sounds like a deal breaker, but there's actually many shopify third-party apps that will implement this functionality for you. so, for example, the bold discount app offers a very powerful discount engine for only 15 a month. now, while the professional reports you get with the main plan are useful, they alone do not justify the added fifty dollar cost of the main plan. now, if your online store makes between sixteen thousand three hundred and thirty three dollars a month- and a hundred and ten thousand dollars a month go with the shopify main plan. in fact, feature wise- there's almost zero reason to sign up for the advanced shopify plan until you exceed 110 000 a month. now, if you look at the main shopify plan, you literally get 99 of the features of the advanced shopify plan for only 79 bucks, which makes this plan the sweet spot for most six and seven figure store owners. now the only reason it's time for the advanced shopify plan at this revenue tier is if you require more than 15 staff accounts, but realistikally a store at this level you're not going to have 15 employees. if you aren't using shopify payments, then shopify charges you a credit card transaction fee, which are drastikally reduced on the advanced shopify plan. so instead of paying one percent in extra fees on the basic plan you only get charge point five percent. if you want to show calculated shipping rates at checkout, then go with the advanced plan. but in my experience showing the exact shipping rate during checkout is overrated. but for some businesses it might be important. now. if your online store makes between 110k a month and 680k per month, go with the shopify advance plan. now. the advanced shopify plan offers the lowest credit card transaction fees of all the main plans, including a couple of extra nice to have features. so, for example, at this revenue level, you're probably already handling your shipping via a third-party vendor like ship station or shipping easy. as a result, it might be nice to show you calculated rates during checkout instead of using a table rate or a flat rate solution. now, if you don't have a bookkeeper or an analytiks member on your staff, shopify's advanced reports will come in handy for projecting your future revenue. but outside of that, you should just stik with the advanced shopify plan until you hit 680k a month in revenue or, if you require the advanced feature set of shopify plus, if your online store makes over 680k per month, go with shopify plus, just for the savings on credit card transaction fees alone. at this tier, your credit card processing fees plummet to only 2.15, which is on par with what you can get with a regular merchant account and gateway combo, but outside

Shopify vs Wix 2022 (Don't choose WRONG!)

so i've been using both shopify and wix to build multiple ecommerce stores over the past years. i've even created complete beginner tutorials on how to set up online stores using both shopify and wix. so in this video, i'm going to compare both of these e-commerce platforms side-by-side. this video is not sponsored by any of these platforms. i'm simply gonna give you my honest opinion based on my own experience and based on some further research that i've done for this specific video. so let's get started. [Music]. now i wanna make clear that i'm gonna compare shopify and wix as e-commerce platforms, so a place where you can build an online store and sell things. because this is already where we can spot a big difference between wix and shopify. both companies started out in 2006, but wix started out as a website builder, whereas shopify, from the beginning, focused on being an e-commerce platform. only in the recent years, wix started rolling out e-commerce features allowing us to sell products on a wix website. so, just based on that fact, it's clear that shopify has a lot more experience in the e-commerce space. however, that doesn't mean that we should immediately go and build our store on shopify. so let's go ahead and take a deeper look into both of these platforms, starting with plans and pricing. with shopify, you can choose between three different plans: basic, shopify and advanced. when you're starting out, the basic plan should be more than enough for you, so that would be 29 per month plus transaction fees for every sale that your store makes. you already get a lot with a basic plan, like being able to sell an unlimited amount of products, 24: 7 support and features like discount codes, abandoned card recovery, marketing automation and a lot more. the main difference between the basic plan and the other plans are the transaction fees. so if you go for one of the more expensive plans, you're gonna have lower transaction fees for every sale that your store makes. so when you reach a certain number of revenue per month, it certainly makes sense to upgrade to a higher plan to reduce those transaction fees. we will take a closer look into payment providers and transaction fees later in this video, because obviously this is a very important deciding factor. now let's look at the pricing of wix. on the pricing page, we first have to switch from regular website plans to business and e-commerce plans, because these are the ones we need to go for if you want to sell products on our website. here we also got three plans: business basic, business unlimited and business vip. and, by the way, these prices apply if you pay yearly. if you want to pay on a monthly basis, then these are the prices for the respective plans. with the basic plan, for 34 per month, you get everything you need for a basic online store. however, if you want your international customers to see prices in their local currency or if you want to sell subscription products, then you need to go at least for the business unlimited plan at 38 per month. now, looking at the wix and shopify plans side by side, we can see that the basic plan of shopify is actually a bit cheaper compared to wix's basic plan. if you pay monthly, then the higher tier plans of shopify are much more expensive compared to wix, at least when you first look at them, because one of the main differences here is that wix doesn't reduce their transaction fees for the higher tier plans. so even though you pay more in a monthly subscription fee for a higher tier shopify plan, the overall cost in a month can still be lower compared to wix, because for every sale that you make, you're gonna pay less in transaction fees. so in my opinion, the plans of shopify are a bit more attractive because with the basic plan, you pretty much get everything you need for your online store, and i also like the fact that you can reduce your transaction fees once you start making more money with your store by simply upgrading to a higher tier plan. shopify does have a 14 day free trial, so you can test out everything before choosing a pay plan. you're going to find a link to that trial down below in the video description. however, if you want to launch your store and make it available to visitors, you do need to be on a paid plan. wix doesn't have a limited free trial. you can basically just create a free wix account, take your time to build your store, but then, once you want to start selling, you also need to be on a paid plan. let's move on and compare the website themes of wix and shopify. both platforms have a lot of beautiful themes for all types of online stores. wix literally has hundreds of free online store themes that you can choose from, so the chances are very high that you're gonna find one that you really like that is already optimized for the kind of online store that you want to build. shopify, on the other hand, only has 9 free online store themes. so if you don't like any of these 9 themes for your store, you have the possibility to browse their premium theme library. however, those themes cost you around 300 as a one-time fee, so wix definitely gets a big point here for having a lot of free themes for online stores. however, one of the key differences between wix and shopify themes is that wix themes aren't always fully responsive, meaning that when you look at your website on a mobile device, it won't always be perfectly optimized, so you'll need to make sure to rearrange all the elements that are out of place for smaller screen sizes. wix does have the so called editor x that you can use to build fully responsive designs. however, that is more geared towards the advanced designer and agencies rather than the average user. shopify's themes, on the other hand, are fully responsive, meaning that you can just build everything on desktop view and it'll automatikally look good on mobile as well. now let's tok a bit more about design customization options for wix and shopify generally. you'll be more flexible using wix to design your online store. you can simply use drag and drop to add any element to your website and customize it as you like. this kind of drag and drop doesn't work on shopify. here, everything has its predefined position and you get some customization options on the side menu, so you definitely do get more flexibility when it comes to website design using wix. in terms of ease of use, i have to say that i find both platforms fairly easy to use for beginners. wix really tries to make it as simple as possible for absolute beginners to build a beautiful website. if you want to get your website up and running as quick as possible with minimum design work, you can use their adi website builder. here you can simply answer some questions, pick some favorite designs and then wix will automatikally design your online store based on your answers. shopify doesn't have something like that, but i still think it's fairly straightforward to build your first online store, especially if you use my shopify tutorial to guide you through step by step. in terms of managing everything else that comes with running an online store, like fulfilling orders, managing inventory handling, customer support or sending out marketing emails, i would say that both of them are equally easy to use. i personally like shopify a bit better in terms of user experience. i just feel like when i use shopify, i really notike that everything is specifically made for selling online and everything is optimized for that specific purpose, so there's no unnecessary features that distract you from what's actually important. however, i did read a lot of comments from similar videos like this one, and saw a lot of people saying that they found wigs a lot easier to use and a lot less complex. so probably the best way would be to sign up for both of these platforms and see for yourself which one comes easier to you. and, by the way, if you need some help in the beginning getting started with either
