what's up everybody, Anton chaley here from e-commerce lifestyle calm and welcome back to the podcast. so, as you know, this podcast is designed to help you grow your revenue, increase your automations and become number one in your niche, and today's episode should definitely help you do that. so we're gonna be toking about a topic and really a word, a term that you don't hear come up all that often, but it's something that we've made a lot of money with and there's definitely a time and a place for it within a normal drop shipping business, especially the type of drop shipping that I teach at my company, dropship lifestyle comm. so this is private label drop shipping. what does that mean? well, it means you're still working on the dropship business model, where you're accepting orders on your website. your job is to basically be the retailer, but then another company- the manufacturer- is shipping the products to your end customer. so, again, nothing different there. but what private label means is that when these products are being marketed on your site, they're not being marketed as the company's name that's actually manufacturing them, and you're not actually shipping products with another company's brand name on them. instead, you are basically creating your own brand, and this is a brand that lives separately from your ecommerce store. so give you an example: let's say I had an online store that sold hiking backpacks and I wanted to make my own brand of hiking backpacks. I wouldn't call that brand. whatever my store name is, I would make up another brand name. I would make up other product names, I would make up other SKU numbers and that brand- my new ecommerce physical product brand- would be one of the brands that I carry and that I sell for on my online store amongst all of the other brands that I dropship for. so, first of all, why would you do this? does it make sense? and kind of win? doesn't make sense because there are times and whether or not you want to get into this really depends on the products that you sell, depends on how much time you want to put into your business, because doing things like coming up with a brand and writing all these unique product descriptions and setting up the ads and managing it is something that does require a little bit different of a skill set than just being a quote-unquote, normal drop shipper or online retailer. but again, there are huge benefits for anyone that wants to do it. so first let me just explain- guess how I came across this and why I even ever started doing this. so this was way back in the day, maybe, like I don't even know- eight years ago, on one of my ecommerce stores where I was drop shipping and I was selling for every different brand in my niche. this was a store that has since been sold. somebody else is now selling all these products- not me anymore- but I was selling for a big number of brands- and then another brand reached out to me via email and they said: hey, we see you sell these products in this niche. I'm not gonna say what the niche was, but they said: hey, we see, you sell these products. we actually have some designs that would fit great on your store. we manufacture them all. I think the first one was in Brooklyn. somewhere in New York they sent me a bunch of really, really good photos of the products that they make, like super high quality. they sent me their price list and the products looked great. the prices looked amazing as far as wholesale cost, but they didn't have any brand right. they made them. they were a manufacturer, but it wasn't like: oh, we're supplier ABC, this is our best seller product. one, two, three. it was just like: no, we make this stuff and here's, you know the numbers we use like for a reference for each of the products, but they didn't have anything beyond that. now, typically with the brands we work with, again, they have established brand names. they have their product names, they have their product features, they have their product descriptions. everything is already set. this company didn't have any of that. they just had product images. they had a wholesale price list. so I said, like is there anything that you know? we should list these as on our store? because again, what they had is like: this is product one, two, three. you know, this is product one, two, four. this is product one, two, five. and nobody's searching for that because it's not a product name. it's just their internal way that they reference products. and they said, no, we don't have that. I was like, okay, what should I do here? like, I like the prices, I like the products, but I need to name them. so what I basically did was do just that. I came up with, like what I toked about earlier. I came up with a brand name. I actually came up with product names for the ones that they told me they're bestsellers and for the ones where my potential profits were the highest. now, this new brand name, these new product names, obviously nobody else was using because they were mine. I created them and what I did is just upload them to my store, as we would with anything else. I wrote the descriptions to be unique, obviously, and to actually have them exist, and I base that off some of our other best descriptions. I obviously listed everything else, like the dimensions and the product specifications, and then I uploaded them to Google Ads with the rest of our products. now, with our Google ads, specifically Google shopping, we weren't getting even impressions for these products because, again, nobody was searching for them. so I thought, okay, I have these things on my site. no one's really buying them. there's nobody searching for them. how can I actually kind of build up this, this reputation or this recognition of these products, and get people to choose them? so what I did was start sending emails to our email list saying, hey, we now carry for brand the brand name I made up. these are some of the best products. we're doing a sale, 10% off. here's the links to buy them. what happened? people bought them. I basically sent them to the supplier. the supplier shipped them to the customer under my brand name. so private label drop shipping again. I wasn't giving the supplier money in advance, I wasn't paying them to warehouse products. still drop shipping a hundred percent just now under our brand name and our product names. so that email was a quick little boost, got in revenue, God in sales, got in big profits. then I thought, okay, what else can I do? I want people to buy these things because my margins are higher than my normal margins and also the competition is a lot less because if somebody tries to comparison shop- nobody, they're not gonna find these products anywhere else. so what I started doing then is making more calls to action on the website, going to this new brand. some examples were in the sidebar of collection pages saying: check out this new brand again, save 10% on all orders. here's the link. even in some products that we had a lot of traffic for but that either didn't sell that well or where the margins weren't that great. on those product pages I would say you should also consider product ABC from brand ABC and then link to those other things we did on our pages is show-off those products from our new brand. some other things were in different collections on our store, the top products that we showed off. so somebody clicks into, whatever the niches, the first products they would see are from that brand. so what that started to do is really just build this organic traffic and really, through internal linking, started to drive people to these product pages and started to drive sales to these products. now, this was the beginning of it, right? this is when I realized this was an opportunity, almost stumbled upon it without ever planning for it, but I realized very quickly that this is something I wanted to do more of. but I should also say I realized this couldn't be the full business because nobody would be searching for it. so my opinion, if you want to get into private label drop shipping, your best bet is still follow the system that I teach you at dropship lif.

if you want to start an online store, you have to know where to find wholesale suppliers and manufacturers. should you search on Google? should you attend a trade show? should you import from China? where can you find Dropship suppliers, wholesalers and factories to manufacture your products? now, when my wife and I first started our e-commerce business, we had these exact same questions. now, the correct approach for finding a small business, wholesale supplier or factory is actually highly dependent on your e-commerce business model. for example, the methodology for finding a wholesale supplier that drop ships is completely different than finding a private label manufacturer. now this video will discuss where to find the best wholesale vendors and manufacturers, depending on whether you sell Dropship products, wholesale products or private label products. and this is based on my experience running my seven figure e-commerce store and my Amazon business. so here's my take on the best way to find wholesale suppliers and vendors for your online business. now let's start with Drop Shipping. Drop Shipping is an e-commerce business model where you don't have to stok any inventory for the products you sell whenever an order comes in. you simply place the exact same order to your drop shipper and then collect the profit based on the difference in price. now your Drop Shipping supplier handles the entire fulfillment process, and all you got to do is take orders, perform customer service, and your supplier stores and fulfills your orders now, as a result, Drop Shipping is a great way to start an online store without risking a lot of money. now here are the best places to find wholesale vendors that drop ship now. the first place is worldwide brands. worldwide Brands is a directory of wholesale suppliers who Dropship in the US and Canada. now there are over 16 million products offered on this platform that range from apparel, consumer electronics, beauty products, Office Products and more. now there's a one-time membership fee of 299 to access the directory, and most suppliers are in the US or Canada now. I personally use worldwide brands in the past to quickly find small business wholesale suppliers to fill out our inventory for sparse categories. the second Drop Shipping platform is called sale who. sale who is a wholesale supplier directory of drop shippers that cater to International clients. as a result, many of the wholesale suppliers found on sale who are actually not from the US- now they are based in New Zealand. sell who boasts over 8 000 trusted Drop Shipping suppliers that sell over 2.5 million products and Brands across a variety of categories, including including consumer electronics, health and beauty, pet suppliers and more, now sell whose main value add is that every supplier in their directory is pre-vetted with up-to-date info and you get instant access to a wide variety of products at Dropship in your store. sell who charges a one-time access fee of 127 bucks. alternatively, you can pay 67 per year for membership. the next Drop Shipping supplier is called doba. doba is an all-in-one wholesale supplier for Drop Shipping that is both a directory and a marketplace. now, on doba, you'll find thousands of Drop Shipping vendors to Source your products for your eCommerce business, and once you find a wholesale supplier, doba also manages all your ordering and fulfillment operations as well. so here's how it works: you find products on doba that you want to sell, you add these products to your store and then, when you receive an order, doba automatikally passes your order to the supplier who fulfills the order. so, basically, doba acts as a bridge to a large database of wholesale suppliers that will drop ship on your behalf. the main disadvantages is that you'll never know who your suppliers are, as doba hides that info from you. doba charges a monthly fee from 25 bucks to 299 dollars a month, depending on the plan that you choose. the next drop ship directory is called spocket. spocket is a directory of wholesale vendors willing to drop ship on your behalf. now, most of the suppliers on their platform are from the US or the EU, and the product quality is top-notch. using their app, you can instantly add products you find on spocket to your Shopify store. when an order comes in, it is electronically sent to spocket, where they handle inventory management and Order fulfillment. the only disadvantage to spocket is that they have a smaller selection of products compared to other wholesale supplier directories in this video. now, spocket charges a membership fee that starts at 25 a month all the way up to 99 a month, depending on the number of products that you sell. let's switch over to print on demand. print on demand is actually a form of Drop Shipping where you work with the supplier to print your own custom designs on White Label products like t-shirts, mugs and pillows. no monies required up front. when your customer makes a purchase, the print on demand company builds your product with your design on the Fly and ships it to your customer. you don't have to pay for the cost of your product until after it's been sold, which allows you to start a print-on-demand Drop Shipping Store for very little money. here are my top three print on demand wholesale vendors to work with printful. printful is my favorite one because they offer a large selection of products to choose from. they print all their own Goods in-house, with fast turnaround times, and their print quality is excellent. right now, printful is one of the largest vertikally integrated print on demand wholesale suppliers in the world, and they support all the major shopping carts, including Shopify, Bigcommerce and woocommerce. print on demand company number two is printify. printify is a print-on-demand company that does not print any of their own merchandise. instead, they have a network of print providers in over 90 locations in the US, UK, Australia, Germany and China. as a result, the print quality that you receive can be hit or miss depending on the specific provider you work with. now, printify's primary advantage is the sheer size of their print-on-demand network, with over 250 plus unique products to choose from. now, because their network is so large, you can often find a print-on-demand company local to where you live. now the final print on demand company I recommend is custom cat. custom cat is a vertikally integrated print on demand company like printful, that does all their own printing in-house. however, they do have a significantly smaller product selection compared to printful. in addition, custom cat only supports a subset of e-commerce platforms out of the box and you're pretty much limited to Shopify or woocommerce. however, custom CAD is less expensive than most other providers, which allows you to make more money selling your print on demand products. now my kids use custom cat for their t-shirt business over at kittenchargecom and their print quality is fantastik. now let's shift gears and tok about how to find the best wholesale vendors in the United States. now the simplest way to find a small business wholesale supplier in the US is simply by Googling the company of the product you want to sell, going on their website and then finding out who their Wholesale Distributors are. smaller companies typically won't have Distributors and will sell to you directly. now, wholesale discounts are usually on the order of 30 to 50 off MSRP and, depending on the item and the brand, the minimum order can be as low as 100 bucks. now, outside of Googling, here are the best ways to find wholesale suppliers in the US. first place is data axle or reference USA. reference USA is a database of every registered business in the US that can be accessed to find wholesale vendors and factories in the US. best part is that's 100 free. the only catch is that reference USA can only be accessed at your local library, but most libraries support the service. in addition to finding wholesale suppliers, reference USA can also be used to loc.

hey guys, i'm back again with another video looking at how to dropship branded and private label products so you can set yourself apart from your competitors and start making more money with your drop shipping stores in 2022. in today's video, i'm going to be sharing with you an amazing drop shipping agent service that i've been working with over the last couple of months that will allow you to drop ship completely custom branded products just like this, with your logo printed on the product and on the packaging. so the drop shipping agent i have been working with over the last couple of months is called bs drop shipping and, like i say, they make it super easy for you to private label dropship pretty much any product. what bs dropshipping do is they work with suppliers and manufacturers directly in china and they will allow you to go and brand your products with no minimum order quantity. so that means you can just order one branded product to get set up and then you can start drop shipping these products with your logo printed on the product and also on the packaging, if you want to. now you will have to pay a setup fee. so generally they will charge a setup fee, and this is for the mould for the logo, but this is super affordable, usually around 10 to 20, and that is what i paid for this hair curling product. so, like i say, it's a really low barrier to entry to start drop shipping these private label and branded products. the second thing i want to mention about bs drop shipping's service is the shipping times, which are, of course, super important. so they do have lightning fast shipping times. so i get this product here to me in the uk in around 10 days, but other parts of europe are a lot quicker. so, for example, italy is around three to four days and the us, of course, is once again around 10 days, depending on the product. so, like i say, it's super quick and a lot quicker than using aliexpress, for example. so by doing this, you can keep your customers happier and this just makes it more likely that they'll make a repeat purchase or they will refer you to a friend. and this also makes it a lot easier when it comes to running customer service and chargebacks and refunds for your store as well. and not only this: you're actually building a brand around the product because you have your logo printed on the product. not only this, but because bs drop shipping do source the products directly from the suppliers in china. that means that they can offer the products to you at really affordable prices. so this allows you to add a higher margin to your products and make more profit on every sale, and that will allow you to have more money to allocate towards your marketing. so for ads and for acquiring a customer. now, when it comes to fulfilling orders with bs drop shipping, once again, this is super straightforward. so all you need to do is export your orders from shopify or woocommerce- or whatever it is you're using for your store- to an excel sheet, also known as a csv file. then you just email them that file and they will go and fulfill all of the orders, and they will email you back all of the tracking numbers, and then you can go and add those tracking numbers to your orders on shopify or on woocommerce. so this makes it super easy to go and fulfill orders. now, when it comes to paying for your orders with bs dropshipping, you can pay through paypal or you can go and pay through a bank transfer, because they do have a bank account in europe and also in the us. so this will save you around 50 when it comes to fees as opposed to using paypal. but, like i say, it's totally up to you. now, what bs drop shipping do is they add a two and a half dollar fee, so two dollars and fifty cents fee for every product that is drop shipped, and i think that this is a super affordable and reasonable price, considering that they source the product for you, they brand the product, they also warehouse the products and they fulfill all of your orders. so, like i say, i think this is a fair enough fee to charge, considering the service that they do offer. so if there is a product that you had in mind, that you wanted to start a brand around, but you didn't have enough money to invest, then bs drop shipping is going to be the way to go because, like i say, you can start with no minimum order quantity for most products. so we'll leave a link to their website in the description below and i will also leave their whatsapp number as well. just make sure to tell them that you were sent by elliot prendy and if you do have any questions about bs dropshipping, make sure to leave them in the comments and i'll get back to you right away and hopefully i'll see you guys in the next video. [Music]. welcome back. i'm leron from autods and, as you know, in this video, you're gonna learn how to start a white label drop shipping business and we're gonna go into everything: what white labeling means, the difference between white label and private labeling, which is the two different methods that you can use when running an ecommerce business, and, of course, a step by step of how to get this business started. so what is white labeling in the first place? quick reminder: everything that i'm going over in this video we also have it in our blog artikle, which i will leave a link to right below this video, and, if you haven't done so yet, don't forget to subscribe to our youtube channel to always stay updated on all of the latest and all of the hottest topics that we have coming out in the world of dropshipping and e-commerce. that being said, let's go ahead and jump straight into the action and learn what white labeling means and how to start a successful white label drop shipping business. so what is white label drop shipping in the first place? white label drop shipping means that you are simply drop shipping products from a manufacturer or from a supplier, from a seller, without tampering with the product's packaging, with the product's branding. so you're simply moving the box from one place to the other without labeling it as your own product. so how does white label and drop shipping come together? well, drop shipping is a business model where you can simply sell products. you have an online store, you're selling products, but you're not holding these products in stok. this means that you have no investment required and it's very easy to get started. so you're simply selling what other sellers have or what other manufacturers created, and every time you make a sell and the customer pays you only then do you go to your suppliers website and you purchase the product and ship it directly to the end customer. so the product doesn't go through you. you have no physical contact with the product, and white labeling simply means that you are not branding the product as your own, so the product does not have your brand, it doesn't have your packaging and it doesn't have your logos anywhere on it, since you did not do any customization on the product itself. the only thing you did customize was your online store, your product page and everything that comes along with that. now, private labeling, on the other hand, means that you are branding the product. you are creating a brand around your product, meaning the product is going to have your brand around it, like the way that jbl private labeled these speakers right here. so you're going to have your brand on your product, but this does mean that you will have to purchase inventory upfront, because it'll be very difficult to find a manufacturer who will create a product for you- and, by the way, many manufacturers can create this speaker for you and put your logo on it, but nobody's gonna do it, or it's gonna be very difficult to find someone who's gonna do it for you, with the dropshipping business model, meaning they're gonna have to create hundreds of these products for you and store it themselves, and the manufacturer is going to hope that you're going to make those sales because you didn't purchase that inventory up front. so if you're not going to make any sales, you're not going to be the one stuck with inventory, but rather the manufacturer, and nobody wants that. so we're going to get into all of that soon. but that is the main difference between white labeling and private labeling. now let's dive further deep inside. what are the benefits of white label drop shipping? so, first of all, it's perfect for beginners. if you haven't tested the market yet, you don't know what niches are selling well and you want to grow your ecommerce business from the start and learn about the market, it's very easy to get started with the white label business model because you're not purchasing inventory up front and if you don't make any sales, you can always replace those products with other products and continue testing the market. and once a product starts to sell, then you can multiply your success by adding more products similar to that one, while continuing with the white label business model and, of course, multiplying your sales and success. so it's perfect for beginners, since you are not purchasing inventory up front. therefore, it's easier to get started. the second benefit is that there are no moq requirements. moq stands for minimum order quantity, and we've just been over this. since your products are white labeled, the manufacturer is creating some label around it, maybe with their brand, maybe with somebody else's brand, and you are simply reselling that product as is. so that means that somebody already manufactured these products and they don't want you to purchase those products in order for you to sell them. you can just sell them as is and, as i mentioned, with the dropshipping business model, simply purchase that product from your supplier's website and ship it directly to your customer. so no minimum order requirements, no upfront investment, easy to get started for beginners. and another great advantage of white label drop shipping is that there are high profit margins here, and the reason for that is because you're not investing in inventory upfront. you don't have to take risks with your own money. you simply list a product it sells, you ship it from your supplier to the end customer. you keep the profit in the middle and, because you didn't invest in inventory up front, the profit is yours to have after making your first sale. therefore, the profit margins are higher when starting a white label drop shipping business as opposed to private label, where you are purchasing products upfront and it takes a much longer while to start seeing any high profit margins. now let's take a look at this chart right here, which shows us a great example of the differences between white label and private label drop shipping. so we created this infographic to really help you get an understanding. so, first of all, with white label drop shipping, we've got more white label suppliers and they're easier to work with than private label suppliers. so more of them and easier to work with them. also, you've got the low cost. we already mentioned how running a white label drop shipping business comes with lower cost, since we don't have to invest in inventory up front, we don't have any minimum order requirements because we are not changing the labels, we are not branding the product and if we don't sell it, then we don't have to worry about it: simply remove and replace it with another white label product. and, of course, the large profit potential, which i already mentioned and why it's like that. now, with private label drop shipping, there are other advantages, like customer loyalty, because once you brand your product, then your customer can identify with your product and identify with your brand and stay loyal to your brand after, of course, they purchased a product, they got it, they see your label, they see your logo and they feel like they can identify with it. so it's a high quality product, they got it on time, they will remember your brand and that increases customer loyalty. also, private labeling allows us to differentiate ourselves from the competition because you've got your own custom logos and packaging. so, of course, if another seller is selling the same exact product as you, but they did not private label their product, it just looks like a generic brand. and then you've got your product, which looks better, it's branded, it looks like a big, serious compan.

building a private label brand can be fun and exciting. it's an opportunity to get creative and turn your vision into reality. it's also a fantastik way to create an additional source of income where the sky is the limit, rather than driving ubers or delivering food, where you're always going to be trading your time for money. building an e-commerce business is accessible to almost anyone, and it's never been easier to get started from the comfort of your own home. seven years ago, i was in a similar position as you, looking for a way out of my nine to five so that i could experience more freedom and fulfillment in my life. i discovered private labeling and took massive action, and a couple years later, was able to quit my job and become a multi-millionaire thanks to the online brand i created. hey everyone, i'm tatiana, and today's video i'll be sharing with you seven tips on how to build a private label brand from scratch. these tips are coming from my personal experience building a seven-figure e-commerce brand from the ground up. you're not going to want to miss this video if you're considering starting or have already started building an e-commerce brand, especially if you have no prior business experience. now, before we get started, let me ask you this: what was the first thing you did when you decided you wanted to build an e-commerce brand? did you start browsing up products and trying to figure out what products you want to sell? well, if so, you've already made the first mistake. while we will be covering sourcing in this video, you'll notike how there are many things to consider and strategize before it's time to look for products and manufacturers. now there are a few different ways you can go about building a brand. the simplest and most affordable way is to private label or white label products. all this means is that you are not inventing or creating anything new. you're sourcing products that already exist on the market, finding the manufacturers and placing your logo branding packaging on the product. for example, when you're at the grocery store and you see several brands of salt, they all have different packaging, but oftentimes the manufacturers are the same. the salt comes from the same place. the buyers don't know that, but that's usually how it works, and on amazon you might see a number of identikal products for sale and there's a high likelihood that, although they are different brands, those products are sourced from the same manufacturer. later in this video, i'll be sharing with you how to source products from all over the world. but let's get started with tip number one: brainstorm your brand identity. what do you want your brand to be about? start by looking at what your own personal passions or interests are. what are you excited about? you can make money in almost any industry, so choose a niche that interests you and you'll actually enjoy all the time you spend working on your business. so, are you interested in photography, hiking, travel, sports, cooking, dog training, languages? these are all niches that you can build an e-commerce brand in. now, if nothing comes up for you, is there a product in your household that you absolutely love and cannot live without? is there a product that you would buy for your family and friends because you've benefited from it so much and you want to share it with others? perhaps that is a product you could source and you can start there. so now it's time to take your research to amazon. go to the amazon website and look at all the different product categories you see when you sell on amazon, your product that you sell will fall under any of those categories. so make a list of your top three categories, the ones that resonate with you most. when you know what category you'd like to sell in, you can get more clarity on what products would fall under that category and browse products to get ideas. and finally, you must ask yourself: what kind of experience do i want for my customers? what kind of experience do i want to create for them? building a successful brand is all about the customers experience. just think about it. what makes a louis vuitton purse more valuable than a purse you can buy at any department store? they both serve the same purpose and they arguably could be of similar quality. it's the brand, and the brand is nothing without the customers experience. when you shop at a high-end designer store, you are offered refreshments, there's an associate who will stay and help you to shop, your personal shopper, your purchase is wrapped in a beautifully beautiful box and a status elevating bag that you don't want to throw away, and it's all about the. it's all part of the experience that you simply won't get when you shop at a department store. so how do you want your future customers to feel when they buy and receive your product? do you know? do you want to give them a luxury experience or is your brand more laid back and casual? is your tone friendly and informal, or professional and formal? whatever you decide. it's important to remain consistent and allow the brand tonality to portray through your marketing and brand assets. number two: define your target audience before you start creating. the key to failure in business is trying to satisfy everyone. knowing your target audience implies that not everyone is your ideal customer, and that's a good thing. there are many brands selling exercise balls on amazon. for some, their target audience are people with back pain, for others, their target audience are pregnant women and for others, they are fitness enthusiasts. so they're all selling the same product, but their marketing is geared towards their target audience and therefore appealing to different people with different goals. once you've decided on your product, you'll need to do some research to determine who will be your customer demographic. are they men, women, what age group, what occupation, what are their goals, etc. your brand should be tailored to them, artikulating how your products helps them achieve their goals. now, once you're crystal clear on who your audience is, you can come up with your branding, your logo, your brand colors, marketing strategy, all of that stuff. number three: see your competitors as your mentors. the fastest way to learn something is not by trial and error. it's by finding those who've already achieved success and modeling them. so identify who your competition is. in this case, it would be the top sellers for the partikular product you are going to be sourcing on amazon now. they've paid the paved the road for you. you'd be foolish not to learn from them so obsessively. follow them, buy their products, take note of their product packaging, inserts and quality of their products. opt into their mailing list and observe the promotional offers that they send you via email. follow them on social media and identify what is their brand tone and their style. how often do they post? do they have any funnels set up? how are they driving traffic to their amazon listing? who is their target audience? how do they position their products? what is their unique selling proposition? what do their best and worst reviews say- and this is an excellent way to discover how you could improve the product with direct customer feedback- what kind of marketing are they doing? how are they handling customer support? there's so much you can learn from your competitors. they can actually become your mentors. number four: define your unique selling proposition. why is someone going to buy from you versus buying from another, more established brand? you've got to give people a reason to buy your product. this could be one or multiple things such as unique product modifications, higher quality product, product design, branding, social media influence, different target audience, different marketing strategy. really great return policy, really great warranty, free bonus or free product, a special community like a facebook group, certain tone that you have like a humorous copy or branding. these are all things to consider. number five p.

Private Label vs. Drop Shipping: WHICH IS BETTER?

Hey there. so if you're thinking about doing drop shipping, maybe you've heard about it online, maybe you've been watching YouTube videos. you've heard about it on social media. you've heard other people post about it. I want you to stop and listen to something real quick (upbeat music). So when I started my very first business, it was actually doing drop shipping Straight out of college. about seven months I quit my job, I tried to fumble my way into building a business and I ended up actually getting into drop shipping, which I had no idea what it was at the time. I thought it was a super cool idea because I was able to actually list products on my own E-commerce store, on my own website, and, unless I made a sale, I didn't have to buy any inventory. So it sounded fantastik. The problems was: is that when you're drop shipping, you're selling somebody else's brand of products? This means they control everything. If they don't want you to sell it for a certain price, if they don't want you to run certain discounts, if they don't want you to run Facebook ads, if they don't want you to do email marketing, if they don't want you to sell it on multiple websites, they control all of that And they can pull your business out any time they want. They can basically say: you're no longer allowed to sell this product Because typically, when you sign up to sell products with hem, you have to sign a legal agreement that says: this is how you're gonna sell it, this is how you're not gonna sell it, And they can basically tell you anytime they want that you can no longer sell their products. Not a great business to be in. I was getting emails almost every day from these manufacturers. At the time I had about 90 different brands. I sold on my own website about 11,000 products. I was getting emails from them almost every single day complaining about how I was selling their products because one of my competitors was upset because I was stealing sales from them. Not a good business. By chance, I happened to meet a guy, believe it or not, at the pool one day in the neighborhood I was living in, and he actually created a private label version of a product that I happened to be selling really well on my own website- Completely random encounter, And this changed my business life forever. So I wasn't even completely sure what private labeling was then. all I knew is what he was telling me is that he could put any label. I wanted my own label, for example, on a generic version of pretty much the same exact product I was selling, And that just blew my mind. And he told me the price too. I think I was buying that product for about $10, selling it for $17. And he could sell it to me with my own label on it for only about $2. So all of a sudden, my margins went through the roof. I was able to scale faster with ads, I was able to run bigger discounts, get more sales, make more money, And it changed everything. So when I hear people thinking about doing drop shipping right now, I think it's crazy. You know, getting into any business, building any business, is better than no business. So if it's drop shipping or no business, go for it. at least you've got something going. But if you have the chance, do something else. Create your own brand. You know, creating your own brand is not that hard today. If you wanna create your own brand of just about any product that you could go out there and drop ship, all you have to do is do a quick Google search for whatever the product is, then private label, Or just search for the product on Alibaba. So, for example, if you're gonna be drop shipping a regular consumer product like iPhone cases or something like that, if you go on Alibaba and you just search for iPhone cases, you can create your own brand of those in about 30 days. Then you're gonna have higher profit margins and one of the biggest things is you're gonna have a much more valuable business, Because if you're just doing drop shipping, chances are there's a million other people doing the same exact thing. Anybody can take your business and when you go to sell it it's not gonna be worth much. On the other hand, if you own your own brand, nobody can copy that. nobody can take that away. because you can have trademarks behind it. you can go after it legally. That's the kind of business that we see people selling all day long for three to five times, if not more, annual profits. So if you have a chance, do private labeling instead of drop shipping. You can make money, you can make more cashflow, you can build a more valuable business and you'll have a heck of a lot more fun running your business.
