00:01:32 00:01:34 that have already interacted with your

00:01:34 00:01:38 in some way this could mean that they
00:01:36 00:01:39 added a product to cart or they simply
00:01:38 00:01:41 visited your website
00:01:39 00:01:43 or they went all the way to purchase and
00:01:41 00:01:43 purchase something these customers all
00:01:43 00:01:45 get
00:01:43 00:01:48 a special placement within the different
00:01:45 00:01:48 audiences which are available on google
00:01:48 00:01:51 however
00:01:48 00:01:52 it is your responsibility to use these
00:01:51 00:01:54 audiences to your advantage

00:01:57 00:02:01 doing retargeting via shopping ads
00:02:00 00:02:03 running for cool audiences which you can

00:02:05 00:02:08 gotten me really good results and as you

00:02:49 00:02:52 card in checkout and
00:02:50 00:02:54 similar to all converters and this is
00:02:52 00:02:56 actually a look-alike audience
00:02:54 00:02:57 the last one is the adwords optimized
00:02:56 00:02:59 list now there are several more
00:02:57 00:03:00 audiences which you can actually create
00:02:59 00:03:02 and use with google
00:03:00 00:03:04 however in my own experience i've always
00:03:02 00:03:06 found that this list right here
00:03:04 00:03:08 is the list of audiences that you
00:03:06 00:03:10 actually need to get the results
00:03:08 00:03:12 other audiences which are available via
00:03:10 00:03:14 google don't always provide the best
00:03:12 00:03:15 results but don't be afraid to try them
00:03:14 00:03:17 on your ad account because something
00:03:15 00:03:19 that works for you may not always work
00:03:17 00:03:20 for me and vice versa but
00:03:19 00:03:21 how do you actually create these
00:03:20 00:03:24 audiences how do you even use them
00:03:21 00:03:26 within your campaigns let's go ahead and
00:03:24 00:03:27 go on over to my google's ads account
00:03:26 00:03:29 to show you guys exactly how this is
00:03:27 00:03:31 done so on the google ads dashboard this
00:03:29 00:03:32 is what you should be seeing
00:03:31 00:03:34 the first step for you is to go to the
00:03:32 00:03:36 tools button right here on the top
00:03:34 00:03:37 from there you want to go on to the
00:03:36 00:03:39 shared library section
00:03:37 00:03:41 and within the shared library sections
00:03:39 00:03:42 where you'll see what you need
00:03:41 00:03:44 access to and that is the audience
00:03:42 00:03:44 manager now if you're again from
00:03:44 00:03:46 facebook
00:03:44 00:03:48 audience manager is very similar to what
00:03:46 00:03:50 you see via facebook ads
00:03:48 00:03:52 where you go ahead and create audiences
00:03:50 00:03:53 with google that is exactly what we're
00:03:52 00:03:55 going to be doing
00:03:53 00:03:56 this is actually a brand new google ads
00:03:55 00:03:58 account for a brand new shopify store
00:03:56 00:04:00 and as you guys can see there's already
00:03:58 00:04:02 two different audiences created
00:04:00 00:04:03 for this account i did not create these
00:04:02 00:04:05 myself it says right here these were
00:04:03 00:04:07 automatikally created so this is the all
00:04:05 00:04:09 users meaning all people
00:04:07 00:04:11 who visited my website and this is the
00:04:09 00:04:12 second one which is all purchasers of
00:04:11 00:04:14 the website so people
00:04:12 00:04:16 who purchase that means these two
00:04:14 00:04:16 audiences you will not have to go ahead
00:04:16 00:04:18 and create
00:04:16 00:04:20 so the first audience all converters is
00:04:18 00:04:22 already chosen for you
00:04:20 00:04:23 in addition all visitors is basically
00:04:22 00:04:24 this first one right here so this is
00:04:23 00:04:25 also another
00:04:24 00:04:27 audience which you don't have to create
00:04:25 00:04:28 so let's go ahead and go on to the cart

00:05:06 00:05:09 supposed to be doing
00:05:08 00:05:11 or what it is exactly targeting so in
00:05:09 00:05:12 this case we're targeting those people
00:05:11 00:05:14 who went to the cart page but didn't
00:05:12 00:05:15 check out so we would simply name this
00:05:14 00:05:17 audience
00:05:15 00:05:18 cart or you can name it card but didn't
00:05:17 00:05:20 check out etc
00:05:18 00:05:22 in addition what i like to do is i like
00:05:20 00:05:25 to put in parentheses how many days
00:05:22 00:05:26 previous worth of data you are targeting
00:05:25 00:05:29 with this audience in this case
00:05:26 00:05:30 for the people that went to cart page
00:05:29 00:05:31 but didn't check out i always like to
00:05:30 00:05:33 stay
00:05:31 00:05:35 at 180 for this specific audience now
00:05:33 00:05:37 you can of course do more you can do
00:05:35 00:05:39 less it is completely up to you
00:05:37 00:05:40 in my own experience what i do is i like
00:05:39 00:05:42 to do 180 days
00:05:40 00:05:44 because unlike facebook with google you
00:05:42 00:05:45 really only need to create one audience

00:05:45 00:05:47 is going to keep track of that
00:05:46 00:05:48 throughout the time that you have that
00:05:47 00:05:50 and i've personally notiked that the
00:05:48 00:05:52 number 180 works a little bit better

00:05:52 00:05:55 i have that in this case let's move on
00:05:54 00:05:56 to the next step which is the list

00:05:56 00:05:59 here are different options that you can
00:05:57 00:06:00 do you can do the visitors of a simple
00:05:59 00:06:02 page like
00:06:00 00:06:03 just go into the cart page or you can do
00:06:02 00:06:05 somebody who visited the cart page but
00:06:03 00:06:06 then went on to another page
00:06:05 00:06:08 or you can do a wide variety of
00:06:06 00:06:10 different options for this case we were
00:06:08 00:06:12 just doing the first option right here
00:06:10 00:06:14 and visited page we want to make sure
00:06:12 00:06:16 that this is chosen and it is default
00:06:14 00:06:18 but what we want to do now is we want to
00:06:16 00:06:19 go in and do backward slash and we want
00:06:18 00:06:21 to type in the word
00:06:19 00:06:23 cart because we are now targeting people
00:06:21 00:06:24 who actually visited the cart page now
00:06:23 00:06:26 if you want to simply target people that
00:06:24 00:06:27 went onto the cart page you can leave it
00:06:26 00:06:28 like this
00:06:27 00:06:30 however if you want to target the people
00:06:28 00:06:32 that went onto the cart page but did not
00:06:30 00:06:33 move on to the checkout page
00:06:32 00:06:35 then you want to go ahead and change
00:06:33 00:06:36 this to match every rule group

00:07:00 00:07:03 here i don't really like to play with

00:07:04 00:07:08 is where you can decide how long you
00:07:06 00:07:10 want somebody to be within this audience
00:07:08 00:07:12 as we said for this audience we want it
00:07:10 00:07:12 to be 180 days so that's exactly what
00:07:12 00:07:15 we're gonna do
00:07:12 00:07:16 we change it to 180 days and once you're
00:07:15 00:07:18 done with that simply create the
00:07:16 00:07:19 audience and you're good to go and that
00:07:18 00:07:21 is how you create the first real
00:07:19 00:07:22 audience which is the cart page
00:07:21 00:07:24 abandoners who didn't move on to the
00:07:22 00:07:25 checkout page now you want to be doing
00:07:24 00:07:27 the same thing for these other ones as
00:07:25 00:07:29 well the audience purchases
00:07:27 00:07:30 and all converters are pretty much the
00:07:29 00:07:31 same so you really don't have to create
00:07:30 00:07:33 these twice
00:07:31 00:07:35 however you can personally go ahead and
00:07:33 00:07:36 do that but cart abandoners now this is
00:07:35 00:07:38 the audience
00:07:36 00:07:39 where if you did add this backward slash
00:07:38 00:07:41 checkout word
00:07:39 00:07:43 you want to take this off now for the
00:07:41 00:07:44 cart abandoners audience simply because
00:07:43 00:07:47 within that audience we want to only
00:07:44 00:07:48 target those people who actually fully
00:07:47 00:07:50 abandoned their card meaning
00:07:48 00:07:52 they went onto the card page and then
00:07:50 00:07:54 they also went on to their checkout page
00:07:52 00:07:56 but they did not buy anything from there
00:07:54 00:07:57 they simply left the checkout page or
00:07:56 00:07:58 what you can do
00:07:57 00:08:00 you can target the checkout page itself
00:07:58 00:08:02 and then name the audience people who
00:08:00 00:08:03 abandon the checkout instead of people
00:08:02 00:08:04 who abandon their card so what you would

00:08:04 00:08:08 for the url is simply use this url and
00:08:06 00:08:08 instead of having the backward slash

00:08:12 00:08:16 all the people who left the checkout

00:08:17 00:08:20 can actually do but that's exactly how

00:08:20 00:08:23 target somebody with and create an
00:08:22 00:08:24 audience for them who abandoned their
00:08:23 00:08:26 checkout
00:08:24 00:08:27 so again as i mentioned first audience
00:08:26 00:08:28 you want to create is the cart audience
00:08:27 00:08:30 which is people
00:08:28 00:08:32 who will abandon their cart within the
00:08:30 00:08:34 past 180 days
00:08:32 00:08:36 again simply leave this at backward
00:08:34 00:08:38 slash cart and then using the match
00:08:36 00:08:40 every rule group add in the condition
00:08:38 00:08:41 that they also visited the checkout
00:08:40 00:08:43 page but did not purchase now this
00:08:41 00:08:44 audience is different than this one
00:08:43 00:08:46 right here because with the cart
00:08:44 00:08:47 abandoners audience
00:08:46 00:08:50 we're gonna just be leaving it as the
00:08:47 00:08:52 condition backward slash cart and that's
00:08:50 00:08:52 all that has to be matched in order for

00:08:52 00:08:56 to fire as we already mentioned

00:09:11 00:09:15 audience you can just go and
00:09:12 00:09:16 do this and for the actual url what you
00:09:15 00:09:17 would do
00:09:16 00:09:19 is you would change it to the thank you
00:09:17 00:09:21 page url so you would do think and
00:09:19 00:09:23 however it is at the very end of
00:09:21 00:09:24 your checkout that is what you should
00:09:23 00:09:26 write so if it is thank underscore
00:09:24 00:09:28 you at the very end for the thank you
00:09:26 00:09:30 page url you would simply copy that
00:09:28 00:09:32 part of the url and paste it in right
00:09:30 00:09:34 here because our thank you page is going
00:09:32 00:09:36 to contain this url and that is exactly
00:09:34 00:09:37 what this condition says so
00:09:36 00:09:39 in this case we would be targeting all
00:09:37 00:09:40 the people who visited the thank you

00:10:09 00:10:12 they're not just given to you directly
00:10:11 00:10:14 you need to actually earn them now what
00:10:12 00:10:16 do i mean by this exactly well
00:10:14 00:10:18 let's look at exactly what is written
00:10:16 00:10:19 right here so the first qualification
00:10:18 00:10:21 in order for your account to even be
00:10:19 00:10:22 eligible for this type of audience is to
00:10:21 00:10:25 have a minimum
00:10:22 00:10:26 of 100 visitors in the remarketing list
00:10:25 00:10:29 itself now this remarketing list
00:10:26 00:10:31 is automatikally generated by google ads
00:10:29 00:10:32 once you have enough visitors on your
00:10:31 00:10:33 shopify
00:10:32 00:10:35 store via google so you don't have to
00:10:33 00:10:37 really worry about this personally
00:10:35 00:10:39 but the second thing that determines
00:10:37 00:10:41 whether these remarketing lists are
00:10:39 00:10:43 available to you or not is how recently
00:10:41 00:10:44 these visitors joined the original list
00:10:43 00:10:46 now if your google ads account was
00:10:44 00:10:48 running many many days ago
00:10:46 00:10:49 maybe a year ago or two years ago of
00:10:48 00:10:50 course those people will no longer be
00:10:49 00:10:52 available within that list
00:10:50 00:10:54 and that means if you did have the list
00:10:52 00:10:56 previously it will no longer be
00:10:54 00:10:57 available but the third thing is the
00:10:56 00:10:59 types of sites that these
00:10:57 00:11:00 visitors browse now these people if
00:10:59 00:11:02 they're not really using
00:11:00 00:11:04 google itself to do much research into
00:11:02 00:11:05 different products into what they want
00:11:04 00:11:07 to find etc
00:11:05 00:11:08 then they're not going to be available
00:11:07 00:11:10 within this audience so
00:11:08 00:11:12 they should be using this google
00:11:10 00:11:14 remarketing list in order to even
00:11:12 00:11:16 rank under this list that will be
00:11:14 00:11:17 created for you but the fourth thing is
00:11:16 00:11:19 the list must be owned by your account
00:11:17 00:11:20 not shared so what i'm gonna do is i'm
00:11:19 00:11:22 gonna show you guys

00:11:22 00:11:25 shopify store
00:11:23 00:11:26 where the lists are actually available
00:11:25 00:11:28 so if you scroll all the way down

00:11:29 00:11:32 visitors audience
00:11:30 00:11:33 and the similar to all converters audio
00:11:32 00:11:35 now the two main lists that you want to
00:11:33 00:11:38 be on the lookout for are similar to all
00:11:35 00:11:39 converters and adverse optimized lists
00:11:38 00:11:41 so as you can see right here

00:11:41 00:11:44 here this was automatikally created
00:11:42 00:11:46 which is what we want
00:11:44 00:11:48 and once it has enough data it will show

00:12:06 00:12:09 you don't have any control over who is
00:12:08 00:12:11 within this audience but
00:12:09 00:12:13 once it's available then you can go
00:12:11 00:12:15 ahead and target these people within
00:12:13 00:12:16 your shopping campaigns and this brings
00:12:15 00:12:18 me to the final point of this video
00:12:16 00:12:20 which is how do you even choose these
00:12:18 00:12:21 audiences within your campaigns and how
00:12:20 00:12:22 do you even target them so what we're
00:12:21 00:12:24 gonna do
00:12:22 00:12:25 is we're gonna go on over to one of my
00:12:24 00:12:28 main google shopping campaigns
00:12:25 00:12:29 running for this ad account right now
00:12:28 00:12:30 and we're going to look at that ad
00:12:29 00:12:31 account to see
00:12:30 00:12:33 the audience and how it's currently
00:12:31 00:12:35 performing so i'm going inside one of my
00:12:33 00:12:36 general testing campaigns and i want to

00:12:38 00:12:42 able to get more data
