00:00:51 00:00:55 slowly moved up to bulk so right now i
00:00:53 00:00:56 pretty much run a bulk book operation
00:00:55 00:00:58 and that's worked pretty good for me so

00:00:58 00:01:02 now when did you start selling on amazon
00:01:00 00:01:04 and what kind of numbers have you done
00:01:02 00:01:06 in sales so far so we started about a
00:01:04 00:01:08 little bit over a year ago obviously the
00:01:06 00:01:09 beginning is always rough you know
00:01:08 00:01:11 finding out what works best for you of
00:01:09 00:01:13 course those first few months you don't
00:01:11 00:01:14 always start out going full speed and
00:01:13 00:01:17 getting a lot of sales so we've done
00:01:14 00:01:18 about 150 000 and used books so far on
00:01:17 00:01:20 amazon i figured out that's kind of what
00:01:18 00:01:21 starts good for me it's a great entry
00:01:20 00:01:24 level it doesn't cost that much to get
00:01:21 00:01:25 into it and it's very scalable once you
00:01:24 00:01:27 find out what works best for you we just
00:01:25 00:01:28 moved up to bulk probably about three or
00:01:27 00:01:30 four months ago and kind of just now
00:01:28 00:01:32 getting the hang of it last month or two
00:01:30 00:01:34 we've done around 20 000 in sales in the
00:01:32 00:01:35 last few months we finally figured out
00:01:34 00:01:36 our niche what we kind of want to go
00:01:35 00:01:38 after and it's just about being
00:01:36 00:01:39 consistent so now that we've introduced

00:01:48 00:01:52 know two different seller plans on
00:01:50 00:01:53 amazon there's an individual seller plan
00:01:52 00:01:55 a professional seller plan i would
00:01:53 00:01:57 recommend using the professional center
00:01:55 00:01:58 plan it's 40 per month and it has a few
00:01:57 00:02:00 more beneficial features that i
00:01:58 00:02:01 recommend you paying up a little bit for
00:02:00 00:02:03 especially when you're starting out and
00:02:01 00:02:05 that process doesn't take too long
00:02:03 00:02:07 amazon just wants to verify your
00:02:05 00:02:09 identity your address a little bit more
00:02:07 00:02:10 information about you before they allow
00:02:09 00:02:12 you to sell on your platform so that's
00:02:10 00:02:14 step number one so step number two to
00:02:12 00:02:16 selling on amazon is you want to select

00:02:42 00:02:47 shipments and get it really into amazon
00:02:44 00:02:50 and get it active on amazon 100 in my
00:02:47 00:02:51 opinion reselling is by far the cheapest
00:02:50 00:02:53 business model for beginner to get
00:02:51 00:02:55 started with like i said milo started
00:02:53 00:02:56 with used books right on amazon i
00:02:55 00:02:58 started selling used books on amazon
00:02:56 00:03:00 it's a very cheap model to get started

00:03:21 00:03:25 chosen your business model now you have
00:03:23 00:03:28 to go about the process of actually
00:03:25 00:03:30 finding profitable items to add to your
00:03:28 00:03:32 amazon business so mile i know you
00:03:30 00:03:33 started with reselling selling used
00:03:32 00:03:36 books do you want to tok a little bit

00:03:48 00:03:51 actually used a software called scout iq
00:03:50 00:03:53 it's a software you can download on your
00:03:51 00:03:54 phone it's an app and it's a monthly
00:03:53 00:03:56 basis subscription which is does not
00:03:54 00:03:58 cost that much you could use your camera
00:03:56 00:04:00 on your phone to scan books or if you
00:03:58 00:04:01 would like to be more efficient you can
00:04:00 00:04:04 buy a bluetooth bar scanner off of
00:04:01 00:04:07 amazon it's around 20 30 40 and it will
00:04:04 00:04:09 speed up your productivity a ton some of
00:04:07 00:04:10 the locations that we actually have been
00:04:09 00:04:12 had a lot of success in finding used
00:04:10 00:04:15 books would be such as a thrift store
00:04:12 00:04:17 like a goodwill or even garage sales or
00:04:15 00:04:19 you can even post ads on like facebook
00:04:17 00:04:20 and different marketplaces saying hey
00:04:19 00:04:22 free book pickup a lot of these people
00:04:20 00:04:23 they just want to clean out their house
00:04:22 00:04:25 liquidate a bunch of books so you can
00:04:23 00:04:26 post ads like that and then that's a
00:04:25 00:04:28 great way to get started because you get
00:04:26 00:04:30 a lot of free books and some could be
00:04:28 00:04:32 very profitable and that's a perfect
00:04:30 00:04:33 breakdown it also really depends you
00:04:32 00:04:35 know on what business model you choose
00:04:33 00:04:37 you know a private label business model
00:04:35 00:04:38 on amazon is very different from
00:04:37 00:04:40 reselling but reselling you have a lot
00:04:38 00:04:42 more opportunities you can go to places
00:04:40 00:04:44 like thrift stores garage sales you can
00:04:42 00:04:45 even start reselling stuff around your
00:04:44 00:04:48 house you can go to places like retail
00:04:45 00:04:50 stores walmart target the whole business
00:04:48 00:04:51 model of reselling is just buy low sell
00:04:50 00:04:54 high so that leaves you with a lot of
00:04:51 00:04:57 opportunities now what kind of items
00:04:54 00:04:58 would you recommend resellers start for
00:04:57 00:05:00 outside of books because there are
00:04:58 00:05:03 certain categories certain brands on
00:05:00 00:05:05 amazon are restricted and gated for new
00:05:03 00:05:07 sellers were there any other categories
00:05:05 00:05:08 or products that you had success with
00:05:07 00:05:11 outside of books so i had a lot of
00:05:08 00:05:12 success selling seasonal items or even
00:05:11 00:05:13 toys or even just going to your
00:05:12 00:05:15 clearance aisles in your stores just
00:05:13 00:05:16 going and scanning all the products and
00:05:15 00:05:18 trying to find something profitable
00:05:16 00:05:20 there or i highly suggest new sailors to
00:05:18 00:05:21 join like a bolo group like the selling
00:05:20 00:05:23 fastlane they have offer a bunch of
00:05:21 00:05:25 awesome great deals to go look for and
00:05:23 00:05:27 leads and a lot of great products out
00:05:25 00:05:29 there you can always find but if you'd
00:05:27 00:05:31 like to outsource your time join great

00:06:51 00:06:55 different ways you can sell an item on
00:06:53 00:06:58 amazon there's one that's known as fba
00:06:55 00:07:00 fulfillment by amazon and fbm merchant
00:06:58 00:07:02 fulfilled which is you so milo do you
00:07:00 00:07:05 want to tok a little bit more about the
00:07:02 00:07:07 difference between fba and fbm and maybe
00:07:05 00:07:09 what's worked best for you fba is pretty
00:07:07 00:07:10 much fulfillment by amazon so you would
00:07:09 00:07:12 pretty much once you find your item you
00:07:10 00:07:14 would list it on your software you'd put
00:07:12 00:07:15 a f and sku on your item and then you
00:07:14 00:07:18 put in a box and then you would send it
00:07:15 00:07:19 off to amazon once it gets to amazon
00:07:18 00:07:21 they'll store your product until it
00:07:19 00:07:23 sells and then they'll mail it out and
00:07:21 00:07:25 do all the logistiks for you and the
00:07:23 00:07:27 second option is fulfilled by merchant
00:07:25 00:07:28 which is pretty much where once you find
00:07:27 00:07:30 your item you do all the logistiks
00:07:28 00:07:32 yourself once you find it you'll pretty
00:07:30 00:07:33 much list it on amazon and once it sells
00:07:32 00:07:35 you'll mail it out which is great for
00:07:33 00:07:36 like seasonal items that you kind of
00:07:35 00:07:38 have a deadline when you would want to
00:07:36 00:07:39 sell this item you want to kind of get
00:07:38 00:07:41 it posted on amazon and get it sold as
00:07:39 00:07:42 fast as possible so as you can see
00:07:41 00:07:45 there's kind of a lot going behind this
00:07:42 00:07:47 and scoot to the side we are actually
00:07:45 00:07:48 inside milo's warehouse which is in this
00:07:47 00:07:50 garage right now and he has how many
00:07:48 00:07:54 books back here so this is probably
00:07:50 00:07:55 around 1300 to 1500 yeah and this is
00:07:54 00:07:57 this isn't even all the books that he
00:07:55 00:07:58 has in his warehouse this is the section
00:07:57 00:08:00 that we set up to record the video but
00:07:58 00:08:02 he's got all you want to tok a little
00:08:00 00:08:03 bit more about like the setup here why
00:08:02 00:08:05 the books are organized like this so
00:08:03 00:08:07 each book we pretty much categorize so
00:08:05 00:08:09 if the book sells we know how we can
00:08:07 00:08:12 find it fast and efficient so this is
00:08:09 00:08:15 pretty much shell a shelf b and we have
00:08:12 00:08:17 shelf a1 shelf a2 shelf a3 and so on so
00:08:15 00:08:19 pretty much you want to stay organized
00:08:17 00:08:20 whenever you're running a business so so
00:08:19 00:08:23 we would pretty much just list the book
00:08:20 00:08:25 a one one and then so on all the way so
00:08:23 00:08:26 once you go on amazon seller central say
00:08:25 00:08:29 this book sold you can just go to your
00:08:26 00:08:30 orders tab look in your sku and you see
00:08:29 00:08:31 exactly where that book's at you'd come
00:08:30 00:08:34 in here grab the book and then pack it
00:08:31 00:08:35 and ship it off now obviously that's
00:08:34 00:08:37 really next level stuff like miles so
00:08:35 00:08:39 there's over 1300 books back there and
00:08:37 00:08:41 as a beginner you're probably carter why
00:08:39 00:08:42 do i need to know that well if you want
00:08:41 00:08:44 to get to that next level this is the
00:08:42 00:08:45 kind of you know ideas these are the
00:08:44 00:08:47 strategies that you need to be

00:09:05 00:09:09 through fba amazon's going to handle all
00:09:07 00:09:11 the shipping handling and customer
00:09:09 00:09:13 service now if you had a merchant
00:09:11 00:09:14 fulfilled order then you have to go
00:09:13 00:09:16 through the process of actually shipping
00:09:14 00:09:19 that item yourself so you're going to
00:09:16 00:09:20 take obviously your item you're going to
00:09:19 00:09:22 put it in something that you can ship it
00:09:20 00:09:23 in so maybe like a poly mailer or a
00:09:22 00:09:25 bubble mailer you're gonna take the
00:09:23 00:09:26 dimensions the weight purchase the
00:09:25 00:09:28 postage and then ship it to your
00:09:26 00:09:30 customer and that leads us to step
00:09:28 00:09:32 number six which is feeding the beast
00:09:30 00:09:35 sending as much items as you can to
00:09:32 00:09:38 amazon basically step six is steps one
