In the journal entry, you're going to break out the gross sales, discounts, and returns, and create line items for each of them. Then, you'll create another line item for shipping and sales tax, and a final line item for net sales. This will give you a much more accurate picture of your sales activity than the cash deposit method.

Next, you'll code the bank deposits to holding accounts. This means that instead of just coding everything to sales income like in the cash deposit method, you're going to create separate accounts for each type of activity. So, you'll create an account for gross sales, an account for discounts, an account for returns, an account for shipping and sales tax, and an account for net sales. Then, when you code the bank deposits, you'll code them to these holding accounts instead of sales income.

Finally, you'll plug the difference to payment processor fees. This means that when you reconcile your bank account, you may notice that the deposit amount doesn't match up exactly with the sum of your holding accounts. This is because payment processor fees have been deducted. So, you'll need to create a line item for payment processor fees and adjust the deposit amount accordingly.
