Enabling Shopify Backend Admin to Login with Google (Google Apps Only)

everybody, this is Ori from Astor web, and I'm gonna show you how to make it a little bit easier to log into your back end of your Shopify store, assuming you, your company emails are actually using Google Apps. so what does Google Apps? Google Apps is basically a paid version of the Google services for businesses and enterprises that let you use all of the the kind of centralized Google a services, right? so Gmail, Google Drive, etc. etc. so if you have an email address that is using Google Apps and if you're not sure you have to ask your administrator- then you can make it a little bit easier to log in back in. so let's show you exactly what I'm toking about, because it might be confusing, but it's really simple, ok? so, first of all, when you actually go ahead and you want to log into your Shopify store, what you do is you go to your domain name, slash admin, or you go to Shopify comm and you log in, and then you need to verify yourself, so you need to put your email- for example, this is my email address- and then I need to put my password. now, instead of that, this video is going to show you how to add a log in with Google, ok. so what you basically do? I'm going to show you how to do it. I'm going to explain something. so, first of all, you're gonna actually log in the first time. this is just to create the settings. you're gonna go to settings and you're gonna go to plans and permissions right here. ok, and what you're gonna do is you're going to go down to the bottom to log in services. you're going to click on edit next to Google Apps, and you're going to click on the check box here, which is I want to enable it, and you're going to specify the actual domain name of your emails, of your company emails, for example, all of our company members. they have at you know their, their name at after web, being calm, so I'm going to click on save. when I do that, the next time people are going to go to log into the backend, go right here. they're gonna see another button right here on the bottom, okay, and there's a. now there's a log in with Google. so now, instead of me typing in email and password, I can just go here to log in with Google. obviously, I can verify myself and I can click in and do that. so it's a little bit easier to log in. it just makes it slightly simpler. and you saw, I just clicked and I logged in. obviously, we, they use that, the Google security and the SSO, the logins, to log in. now a few more small things about this. so, number one: your company has to have Google Apps in order to log in. okay, and so if you have, like a gmail account, for example, or a different Google account, that button will not work. you can click on it, but you won't be able to log in. so that's the point number one. point number two is: even though you you allow Google Apps to sign in with a certain domain name, they- the staff accounts- have to be there. so if I have in my company 30 people but only one of them is actually here under a staff account, only they will be able to log in with the permission set. so, for example, if I add a new staff member and let's just say Joe, Joey Astor web, which is the same domain, right, if I actually gave them certain types of permissions, either full or other, they now can log in. if they're not, obviously, if they're not in the staff members, they cannot log in at all. okay, and that's basically at this. this is the really really simple idea. so the last one is: you can only have one domain. so if your company has different domains, like they have astrolabe Inc and they have, let's say, you know, sister company com, you can only have one here, right? so only one company domain can be used. that's basically it. so I hope you enjoyed this video. if you have any questions what Google Apps are, how they enable anything else, please comment to ask us. be happy to answer. really appreciate your time, thank you.

How to Add Shopify Login

hi, this video is on how to add login to your shopify website. my name is adam. i'm the founder of paid members app, or stripe. we're a stripe verified partner and we work on shopify. so by login, i mean a login form that looks like this: and if your customers came to your website, they'd see in the navigation menu that there's a log in link, and if your customers click on that, they get something like this- the login form, and they'd also get forms like the forget password form. we also allow you to create a signup link. so if your customers clicked on sign up, they would get the sign up form and you'll see name, email, password and you can also ask, ask custom questions, which gets saved on the customer's profile. okay, and so let's say you do have members only content. i have an example of members online content: this members only link. if someone clicks on that, they get gated off and they get the login form, unless they've paid and have access to it. so let me show you what this looks like for a customer that has already become a member. so we have a pricing page here. i'm going to cover payments in another video, but we just have a strike payment link is a as a button and a strike payment link just as link text and then some custom stripe checkout code and if a customer clicks on any of those, they go to stripe checkout. but i already did that for a customer and i'm going to log in as that person. okay, so we have adam and examplecom and i've entered the password, okay, and so now they're logged in and i've given this person access to that members only page. so when i click on that, i get access to the page and so i have direct access. i don't get that login form anymore. and also we have a direct integration with stripe customer portal. so your logged in customers can click on billing portal and when they click that- usually you need to have a developer code- this- and you have to have a server set up for customer portal. but we include that in paid members app. so if your customer clicks that and you have customer portal set up in your stripe account, they can go to a page like this and this allows you to not field requests for things like receipts. the customer can see their invoice history and just view a receipt by clicking there, and also they can update a payment method, for example, if your customers have a credit card that's failing, they can just add an updated payment method without sending an email. they can just self-serve do it themselves. also, they could update their plans. so you can see my customers on a 99 a month subscription box and let's say they want to upgrade to my other product called the ultimate subscription box. they can easily do that through stripe customer portal. so here i am just consenting to that charge to upgrade. so it's that easy to allow your customers to upgrade to a higher plan. you can also allow your customers to cancel plans and even do things like pause subscriptions. what you put into your stripe custom portal, it's all up to you and you can set that in stripe in your standard stripe account in the custom portal section. so let me go back to the website. so we've looked at all of this and so let me log out as this customer, go to my account and log out and you can see that if you're logged out and you try to go to that members only section, you again get that login form. so how do you set this all up? well, i'm going to link to the tutorials on our website below the youtube video. so just click on that link and we just walk you through with screenshots and let me show you, since we're on youtube, how to do that. so you'll just go to online store and click on navigation and you can see that under main menu i have a login and sign up link. so if i click on edit, you can see you can customize the name so you could call it login or member login or whatever you want, and then we just give you one link inside the app that you just paste here and then save. you can also see the same thing for sign up, and it's customizable. if you're on the side of the fence, that, like, sign up is one word you can bat, or you can do it as two words, and we just give you a separate link for that if you'd like to use our optional sign up. and then the only other step is to go to theme and actions and edit code and we give you one little snippet of code that you embed into your themeliquid file. so let me show you where that is. you just click on theme liquid themeliquid and scroll down until you see the closing head tag and you paste our code right above, just like this. okay, and so that is how you add a login form to your shopify website. if you have any questions or concerns, just go to paidmembersappcom and we have a little chat bot in the bottom and you can send us an email with any questions or concerns. and if you like this video, please hit subscribe. there's lots of new updates by stripe lately and we're gonna release some new cool videos on stripe payment links and stripe checkout for shopify users.

Require Login to Access Shopify Store

hey, scott austin here from jade puma. in this video i'm going to show you how to make an entire shopify store require a login. this is actually a really easy thing to do with just liquid code. you don't need an app or anything. all there are apps that do this. but if you're comfortable just copying, pasting 10 lines of code, you can do this in your store without an app. so let me show you what how this behaves, right? so here you see. i'm on a website- this is actually a wholesale website i'm working on for a client and if i click on any link, you'll see that i keep getting the wholesale portal login page, which is under the url of account forward slash login. this is a standard page in every shopify store, um, but regardless of what page i click on, it still takes me back to this, this wholesale login page, and that's because i'm not logged in. and i can see that here because my login icon- it says login instead of you know account. so if i log in using a username and password that's valid in shopify, now all of a sudden i'm in, you know the store, and i can click on any of the pages and browse the store normally, and you can see now my my little login icon says account, which means i'm logged in. so let's just go in and log out again and show you how this works, right? so in in the code, i'm going to shopify admin for this store. i'm going to go under online store and under themes, then actions, then edit code and i'm going to open up the themeliquid file, which is stored right up here in layout under themeliquid, and it's already open and the code that makes this happen is just these 10 lines of code, um. so what you know explain the logic of what this code is doing, um, and i'll include a little snippet of this code on the the page that on my blog, on my website, where you can copy and paste the code. you might have to change it a little bit for your situation, but this will get you started and right down the right path. so what we're doing here is: we're basically in in this logic. here we're asking ourselves: do we want to redirect the customer to, um, the login page? so you see, the first thing is an unless statement um in less customer and think of customer as logged in, right, if, if you ask in in liquid, if customer, it actually looks are: is this user on the website logged in or not? so basically we're saying, if you know, unless customers if not logged in. so if they're not logged in, then continue looking, right, so if they're already logged in, this next set of logic gets ignored. and then what we look at is if template contains customers. and this is, you know, if you haven't played with liquid code a little bit, this is one of the more um, you know things you have to learn, right, it's one of those learnings you do because normally the template is, you know, usually in the file name of. uh, let's just look at a template. here's the artikle template, for example. right, um, it just says artikleliquid, the. the deceiving thing is, or the little trick you have to learn, is there's a subfolder in templates and that's what these are: customers cut account customers, activate account customers addresses and log in and order. so there's a whole bunch of customer type pages that are in a sub folder called customers. so this login page, even though up here it just says account login, the template name actually contains the phrase customers, because that login right here. this loginliquid is in the subfolder customers. so basically what we're saying here is if they're already on one of these customer pages, like the login page, then you know we're not going to redirect them, because if they're already on this login page we don't want to redirect them to. the login page would end up being an infinite loop. and then what we say is: you know, if so, if it's false, if, if they're not on one of these customer pages and they're not logged in as a customer, then we're going to set a variable: send a login equals true, all right, so send a login. going through this loop, it's either going to be false or it's going to be true. and don't forget, if they're already logged in, send to login, we're not setting it anywhere, so it will be false by default. and then, once we go through that little logic there, then we have a simple if, then statement: if send a login, right. so this is basically saying if we've already set this to true up here. and so there's two if statements: right, if send, send to login, which basically is if we've already set it to true and request path is not challenge. so that's when you know they're authentikating and stuff like that. um, and that's. i think that's the- uh, the forget your password page. so if they're not logged in, as we're figuring out here, they're not on a customer page, um, and they're not on the challenge page, then what we're gonna do is we're going to redirect them to a new page, and that's what this is html. this isn't liquid. this line here, this is html and it's just a meta. and it says content: right, send them to this url, which is account login. and every store has a forward slash account for slash login page in shopify. it also says: then go refresh the page. so all this other content below um actually is is not used, because the first thing it shows up. but then you know, the site listens to this first command which says: redirect them to the account login page. and that's what you see happening here is, as i'm not logged in right now, i click on any one of these and i- and if you look up here in the url string, you'll see it goes to that page for a second right. if i click on your rig, i saw it said collection something there a second ago, and then it got redirected. so it quickly loads the page and the first command it sees is: redirect to the login page, right? so that that's what's happening there, um, and so that's, that's the code. it's as simple as this to add, you know, these 10 lines to your theme: liquid, right underneath the head. so it's the first thing that happens on every page on your site. um, when it loads up, it goes through those different rules, determines if we're gonna redirect it to the login page or not, and then performs that action. now something to think about is in your login page and then this will depend on the business rules for your store. for example, this store here is a wholesale store and it's a whole. it's a wholesale store. it's standalone from the retail store. so we've made the entire site require login and if they want to apply for a wholesale account, they've got to do that on a form that we put on the retail store. so, looking for apex chassis retail store, click here for our consumers. you know, click here for our consumer store. and we also have a link up here that says: if you want to apply for a wholesale account, apply here. if i click on that, it takes me over to the retail store and then the the apply application form shows up for them. so and what we did. you know most people don't edit their account login page, right. so what you're probably going to want to do is edit your account login page to put some extra verbiage around. what's going on like: hey, you know, welcome to our wholesale portal. you must, you know, log in with your wholesale account and any other directions. what i also did on this one is because the application is not just create an account in shopify through the shopify account creation process, which actually apply, and the store staff evaluates your application and then approves it. and what they do once it's approved, they manually add that customer information into the shopify store and send an account invite out. so you'll notike on this account page there's no sign up link and there was in this account. most account pages by default have a. don't have an account, click here to sign up. so, based on your business rules, you may want to, you know, comment that out and not allow them to create their own accounts if you want them to go through a separate application process. so that's how we get an entire site to require login, just editing- uh, you know, the theme dot liquid with a little bit of code that redirects everybody that is not logged in to t.

Shopify Tutorial: Using the Shopify Admin

all right. so in this tutorial, we're going to go over how to use the shopify admin panel. so, to get to the admin, you go to your store's url and then you add slash admin at the end of that, at which point it'll prompt you to log in and then, once you log in, you'll see this, and this is your shopify store admin dashboard. so over here on the left hand side are the main sections of the dashboard. the first one is the home section, and this just gives you a broad overview of all sorts of areas on your store. then there's the order section. this is where you'll find customer orders that they've placed on the site. here is the product section, so this is where you'll find all your products. you'll be able to add new products, edit existing products, etc. and there's the customer section, so this is where you'll find any customers that have purchased something through your store, as well as anybody who has signed up for your email list. then there's the finances section, so this is basically reports that show you, um, how your store is doing financially. and you've got the analytiks section, so this is analytiks that are non-finance related. so this might be something like your daily traffic patterns, the live traffic on your site, stuff like that. and there's the marketing section, so this is where you can set up and run email marketing campaigns. it's also where you can integrate with various ad platforms like google ads or facebook ads. and there's the discount section, so this is where you'd create a discount- whether that's a discount code for something like a sale or an automatik discount to apply. for example, you might have an automatik discount that grants free shipping after a certain purchase limit is met. then there's the app section, so this is where you're going to find third-party applications that have been installed in the store, and it's also where you'll be able to install new third-party applications. and then down here is the sales channels section, and for most folks they're only going to have the online store here and that's just your shopify store. some folks might opt to have other sales channels that they'll add here. so, for example, if you wanted to sell through the facebook marketplace as well, you could add that as a sales channel. um, if you have a physical retail location and you want to use the shopify pos to take sales through that as well, you might also have that as a sales channel here. and then at the very bottom there's the settings section, and this is sort of a catch-all for anything that doesn't quite fit in the other more frequently used sections. so here in settings you'll find things like your account settings, you'll have shipping and delivery settings, tax settings, you'll be able to set up gift cards here, you'll manage legal documents in here and permissions and things of that nature, right. so next up is the order section and this is where any orders that are placed on your site are going to be found and you'll be able to actually go in and manually fulfill those orders for your customer here. so there are three sections here. in orders there's all orders, drafts, so that's draft orders, and then abandoned checkouts. let's start with all orders so you'll notike. this is where you find all your orders. this one, for example, has already been fulfilled, so that means a shipping label has been printed out, the item's been sent out to the customer and prior to all that they paid. here's an example of an unfulfilled order. so this individual- in this case tester lester- on march 10th went on to the site and paid for an order for a product, but we haven't fulfilled it yet, so we haven't actually printed the shipping label and sent it to them yet. so if we click into this, the simplest way for us to fulfill this order is to go right here and click create shipping label. so at this point, when we do that, shopify will help to automatikally create a shipping label for us so we can print it out and get it sent to the customer. if we need to override that for some reason, we can go ahead and manually fulfill the item here. so perhaps we already printed out a shipping label from somewhere else, or maybe the customer happened to stop by our store and we, uh, just gave it to them in hand there. but whatever reason, if we need to override this, we can just use fulfill item here and then another important feature here is the refund option. so if we want to refund a customer, we can handle that right here. and then, if we scroll down here, we can see there's info about the customer, their contact information, their shipping address. there's this great little section here called fraud analysis, which is shopify giving you know their prediction about how likely this order might be fraudulent. um, and then there's a timeline over here where we can see all the steps, um timeline wise, of this order and we can see notifications that have gone out to the customer. we can even resend a notification if we want to, right here, okay, and then let's go to the draft order. so a draft order is one where, um, we have an order created but it hasn't been paid for yet, and this doesn't really come up with the actual site. so when somebody wants to purchase something on your site, um, they're gonna go place the item in the card, then go through the checkout process, finishing by paying, and then that is gonna be an active order that's unfulfilled until we fulfill it, um. but let's say, somebody calls in to our store or maybe sends us an email and they just want help actually placing an order. we can do that for them if we want. so we can come into the draft section here and click create order, and maybe they tell us that they want some gray and white controller protectors- okay, and so at this point we can create the order for them, um, and we could collect payment right away over the phone, uh, with pay by credit card, maybe they uh came to us in person and and they handed us cash, so we could just mark it as paid right here, um. or maybe they want an invoice, um, and we can go ahead and send them an invoice with this button here, and so once this order is actually paid for, it's no longer a draft order, but until it's paid for. so perhaps we send them the invoice and maybe we wait a few days until it's actually paid. during that time it's a draft order and once it's paid it'll go ahead and make its way over to the all orders section and it'll be listed as unfulfilled until we actually fulfill it. then there's the abandoned checkout section. so here you'll find basically any carts where the folks began the checkout process but didn't quite finish it. so, um, you can see what abandoned checkouts have been made. this can be really useful for things like retargeting, um, and you can also get a sense of any sorts of maybe patterns. you see here certain products. they're being abandoned to check out things like that. so all right. so next we're going to tok about the product section. so this is where all your products are going to be listed, um, so if you come here to all products, you'll notike. all your products are listed right here. um. some of the other sections that you'll find here are the inventory section, transfers, collections and gift cards. we'll touch on each of these, but for your products. you'll see them all here. you'll be able to quickly filter between active products, draft products. so perhaps you want to add a new product but it's not ready to be actually placed on the store just yet. you'd find that in here and then archived. these would be things that are basically deleted, but they're not gone forever, they're archived. it's sort of like the recycling bin, um. so here are active products, so you can add a new product up here upper right hand corner, and you just have to add a bunch of information: the title description. you can add pictures, the pricing for it, different sku information. if there are different types or variants of this product, um, let's click into an existing one here so i can go ahead and edit the title, the description down here. you'll see that there are two different variants: th.

How to Login to Shopify Tutorial | Easiest Way to Login to Shopify Store Backend

what's up, guys? today we're gonna be toking about how to log in to your Shopify back in panel with ease. now, some of you may have forgotten how to do this because you've probably just have it- your Shopify back-end on your favorites. but what happens when you go to your friend's house or your parents house or something like that, and you log into their browser only to stop and think: what the hell is my login? so in this video, we're gonna be toking about how you can log into your Shopify back in panel through a web browser on your mobile phone and how you can add multiple stores- Chrome, Safari or anything like that that you use to browse the Internet, and what you want to do is, in the search, but at the top, type Shopify login. so generally it will come up in the first search result and what you want to do is click that first one there. so wait for its load. it's one of my old stores and when you get here you want to type the name of your store. so for this example, I created a demo store and we're just gonna be logging into that. so what you want to do is, whatever your store name is, you put that down and put my Shopify along at the end of it. so my demo store thousand, I think, my Shopify comm, and then you want to place your email address. I'm gonna just put the email address that I've registered with us, blow this out for specific reasons, and then for that demo, for that store that you have, you want to put in your password. so there we go, logging in, and we're into this, into your Shopify back-end panel through a web browser, and now we're gonna take a look at log into your Shopify from your mobile phone. now you will need the mobile phone app. for this. you can get the iOS or Android app, depending on what sort of phone you have, whether it's an Android or now an iPhone. you need to head over to the App Store to download this. I'm not going to show you how to download this. I think it's a very straightforward task to do. so let's hop on over to our phone and do that. so I'm currently on my phone now and what I am going to do is click on to the Shopify app and here it's loaded. so I'm going to log in. all you gotta do is press that and the login screen will come up again. so now all you want to do is type in your email address- I've blurred this for security reasons- and then enter your password. we're just logging into the exact same store as before, okay? and then click the login button and it should load up. all right, there we go. we've all loaded up back into our Shopify store. now the last thing that I want to cover is basically, if you want to add another store because you run multiple source- maybe you have, like a general store and a niche store, but you want to see both of them at the same time- all you have to do is click the store button at the bottom tab there at the bottom right and then click your store name at the top and a little drop-down will basically opinion. what you want to do is click a log in to log into existing store. and there we go. now you want to put your email address in for the new store and just doing this again and and the password, and there we go. but I've, this was one of the stores that I used to have. I have since closed down and just didn't want to run it anymore. so, yeah, once, once you've clicked in your store for the other email address and password, you can definitely log in and then to switch between the stores, all you need to do is click my store and then select from the list of stores that are in the drop-down tab under the store tab, and there you have it. now you'll be able to log into your Shopify stores on mobile and add new stores so that you can choose between multiple stores and also desktop browsers, where you may have forgotten the login information.
