Using Hubspot & Shopify to Supercharge Your eCommerce Sales | eComm Live 2020

so, as mentioned, i'm a solutions engineer at hubspot and i work out of, uh, our dublin office, um remotely at the moment, of course, but uh, uh, i've been on. i've been with hubspot just short of four years now. um, most of that time was spent on the services side. i was a tiknical consultant working with customers on a project by project basis, and about a year ago i moved over to the solutions engineering team, which is a pre-sale role, and even before that i was working in, i suppose, in an e-commerce capacity. i used to be a web developer on a marketing team for a payment gateway based out of dublin, which, coincidentally, is right next door to uh hubspot house offices now. so, um, ecommerce has been something that's been a passion of mine for a long time and naturally, it's something that uh, i deviated to within my role. so, uh, really, today, um, what i'm hoping to cover, we have about 60 minutes and i've divided it up into two components: the first 20 i'm hoping to just run through a couple of slides to set the scene and tok a little bit about how hubspot can really help um to boost your sales from an e-commerce capacity, uh, specifically in relation to, to shopify um, and then for the remaining uh 40 minutes, i want to actually jump into the tool and show you uh around and and kind of go under the hood a little bit more to add more of a practikal element to that uh. you can kind of see there the agenda that's. that's loosely the the, the structure of what i want to run through. and another thing i would say is that, um, you know there's there's a lot of different integration options when it comes to um using hubspot uh with in conjunction with an e-commerce platform. so, uh, we have a native integration with shopify, which is provided out of the box for any, any customers that are using hubspot. but we also have options to integrate with other ecom platforms as well. so, uh, you know, woocommerce, bigcommerce, magento, um and even homeground systems. so a lot of the functionality you see here today and what we're going to be toking about uh is also possible with those other platforms, and i'll be touching on the integration options in a little bit more detail. so i've two uh key objectives really by the end of this session. the first one is just to make sure that everyone out there knows how hubspot can help uh from an ecom perspective and you know, uh, the tools that we have and how they can. they can really help you and your team um. and the second one then is obviously the integration options that exist, because it's one thing to have the tools there. it's another thing to actually get that data into hubspot to begin leveraging them. so i want to just ensure that there's a clear understanding of the- the ways you can go about integrating your ecom store with hubspot, before we dive into um the nuts and bolts of things. i just want to kind of look at the current landscape and set the scene. so this is, um a chart i've taken from from shopify. actually, they published this and, interestingly, it's pre-covered, so these numbers likely have um have been inflated to a certain extent, but what it's showing is the total retail sales worldwide um from 2017 right up to 2023, and you can see that 2023 it's coming short of 30 trillion dollars. so it's quite a sizable market and, as i say, we're going through a very interesting time now in terms of digital transformation, um, not too dissimilar to when you know the, the, the internet first came around, or social media came to light and people began flocking to facebook and even bibo, if you can, uh, if anyone's familiar with that. so we're going through a similar shift in terms of our buying uh patterns right now. uh, given um, you know what life is like in a, in a, in a covid19 world, as it were. um, and it's really quite interesting to see how this um correlates to the e-commerce space. now, interestingly, out of that 30 trillion dollars that we're looking at there, 22 of that can be is forecast to be attributed to to ecommerce sales, so it's a very sizable chunk of um revenue that uh, we, you know, we can tap into here. uh, and really i just wanted to paint the scenes here to give you an idea of um, just how lucrative this market is. and if we look at the numbers on a global uh spectrum as well, um, so we've already said it there- there's about 4.2 trillion dollars worth of sales expected by the end of 2020. uh, globally, we've got about 6.5 trillion dollars expected in e-commerce sales by the end of 2023 and about 2.1 billion people are expected to purchase online in 2021. and again, um, i would i would say that this is, this is pre-code, so a lot of this um is likely, um has likely increased um, so so it's a very, very big mark, which i'm sure you're all aware of. uh, and, interestingly, just given that this is um an event based in ireland, i wanted to show some numbers relating to the irish market when it comes to e-comm, so, by the end of 2020, uh 3.3 million dollars of sales is expected to come through e-com channels. uh, we've also got about 4.7 million uh dollars worth of sales expected by the end of 2024. so that's about a growth rate of about eight point six percent year on year. so um a very healthy uh level of growth. and then there's a seventy seven and a half percent um adoption rate. so, effectively, um 77 and a half percent of the population are expected to be purchasing online by the end of 2024 in some capacity. so there's a lot of opportunity here. now. this is how we can then turn that opportunity into a real, achievable goal by using potentially hope spots. so hopes will have a number of different tools that can really um complement your ecommerce marketing efforts and your your ecommerce platform in general. um, the first one is really our crm. so, uh, it's at the core of all of our tools. um, the crm is uh the 360 degree overview of your customer data. it's where we can see all of their activity, the pages they viewed, the emails they've opened um, all of the information they've supplied in some way shape or form via maybe form submission from previous campaigns, uh, all in one single source of truth. in addition to that as well, we also have their, their deals, so their transactions that have synced over from their respective platforms and this is displayed in a pipeline and we can very easily see uh the chunks of revenue that are sitting in partikular stages of that pipeline, and we can also use that for forecasting and various other uh sales reports, which we'll look at in a little bit more detail later on. so the crm is really at the heart of all the hubspot tools and it's really what is feeding data into our email tool and our workflows tool, um, and we'll be- we'll be touching on those um a little bit later on, especially in the in the, the demonstration part of this demo. the second one, then, is um email marketing. i mean, this is a key component of um, of e-commerce and uh, i think there's something like 70 of uh carts where revenue is lost to parts being abandoned uh, so there's a big chunk of revenue that's there to be obtained um by reminding people that you know they've left things in their cart, but equally, maybe, sending emails, uh, you know, suggesting new products or, um, you may know that they've purchased previous products in the past and you want to position another product or cross-sell, or upsell sort of opportunity. so hubspot gives you the tools, uh, to do just that, and it very, in a very simple way, um, for that matter. so we allow you to send personalized emails to specific lists of contacts and again, that personalization is all possible based on the data in the crm. uh, you can also automate the sends of those emails. so it's not a manual process where you're sending to specific lists of individuals. uh, you can basically set up rules to trigger emails being sent when someone matches a specific criteria, and that can be very, very useful because it's simply set it up, turn it on and leave it running in the background to do its thing. in addition to that as well, our email tools have a couple of advanced features, smart content being one of them, um, i l.

How to Integrate Shopify with HubSpot

hello guys, my name is matu and in today's video, i'm going to show you how you can integrate shopify with hubspot. first things first, we have to create ourselves an account at shopifycom or login to our existing account. even though you can make some integration straight through shopify, you won't be. we won't be able to create this one with hubspot straight away, so we are going to need the help of the third party app. in this case, i chose automateeo. i will leave the link in the description underneath this video and once we are here, let's go to integrations on the top side of our screen and move over to see all categories- the bottom left part of this pop-up window. now, in app integrations, we want to pick the first. we have to pick the first app we want to integrate, so we are going to start with shopify. as we are here, we have to pick the counterpart, which will be hubspot. there are some popular integrations that we can uh pick from, so if you won't be able to find the one that you are looking for, keep scrolling down so you can create your own integration. just remember, on the left side, underneath the triggers, you want to start with shopify, so you have to scroll down a bit, click on, for example, abandoned card or new customer, but let's stik with the first one. same goes for actions. you have to scroll down and you need to pick hubspot first. so let's go like or add or update a contact, but you obviously can pick whichever you want. the last thing we have to do is click on try now button. we get redirected and basically ask to login or register to our automateeo account, and we are basically a few clicks away from finishing this integration. we can also use zapiercom, which is a quite similar app to ultimateeo, but it works slightly different. once we create an account at zapiercom, we want to go to the top left corner and create a zap. once we click there, we get redirected and then again we have to start with the trigger. the trigger will start at shopify. like this: our trigger event will be: a new customer- continue. now we have to- uh yeah, new customer, because i said like we are going to stik to the first one- continue now. we have to pick an account which will be shopify- continue. and now we can test our trigger. on the second action, as you probably thought, we want to go with the hubspot. we also have to pick the action, even manually. so create a deal, continue. and last thing is, we have to login to our hubspot account. so that's about it. thanks for watching and see you on the next video.

Demo of HubSpot and Shopify integration

hi everyone. i'm marcus andrews from HubSpot and i'm really excited to share some big news today: that the Shopify for HubSpot integration is live in your portal. we're gonna have a big external launch in coming weeks, but we wanted to give you, folks who sign up for the beta, access and the news a little bit early, so hopefully you've already heard about this from your CSM, but if you haven't, you can now log into the internal integrations listing page inside of your portal and start using Shopify on HubSpot together. so today, what I thought I'd do is just give you a little special onboarding so that you can reply to the email with any questions that you have for me, follow the links inside of the email, use the resources and then really just use this video to get inside the tools, start to unbarred yourself and see what it can do. thanks again for signing up for the beta. are super excited to work with you on this, so let us know what you think. thanks to access and connect the integration, navigate to the face menu, click on integrations and then search for Shopify. here's where you'll connect Shopify to HubSpot. a few things to keep in mind as you're getting started is that right now, we don't support multiple storefronts or an integration with Salesforce. so if you have Salesforce connected to HubSpot, you can't also connect Shopify. right now, fixes for this are the fixes for both of these things are in the works, but for the fit Salesforce connection we're a bit dependent on Salesforce to get this fixed in place. ok, so once you've found the integration, a sync will happen. that is the first thing that happens. this is a sink of Shopify data into HubSpot. this can take up to a few hours, depending on the size of your store. if it's very big, it'll take a few hours. if it's very small, it could take a few minutes. just keep in mind that this integration is free and even if you have another way to connect HubSpot, you can still use our native integration here, connect it, do the sync without any disruption to your existing process inside a hub spot. okay, so when you create, when you go through the sync process, this creates a bond between Shopify and HubSpot and Shopify is the master. so any updates to data in Shopify will be reflected inside of hub spot and close to pretty much real-time customers from Shopify will become Khan beck's inside of HubSpot. this helps you. this gives you a single contact record, complete with marketing, sales and now purchase an order and product information. the second thing that happens during the sync is that orders from Shopify become deals inside of HubSpot. so you can now track deals inside of HubSpot or orders inside of HubSpot. you'll see them visualized and organized and know what deals are associated with with, with what contacts and what the stage of any given deal or order is. and then, finally, this integration enables a new product object inside of HubSpot and so all of your products from Shopify will pour it into hubs Bottas products and you'll have this new idea of a product library inside of hub spot. so having all of this information in one place really unify your business and your tools and give your whole team a single view of the customer, which is great so that you don't have to log into different systems- sales, marketing, service, product- we're all in one page. but you can also do some really powerful marketing with these tools, and that's what we're gonna take a look at right now. so, first of all, all of the information, all three of these things that sync now become signals inside of HubSpot that you can segment around, and off of this is a kcs artikle on the integration that will tell you about all of the different options that you have, but i wanted to show you a quick example here. so let's say you want to figure out which of your customers have bought gloves so that you can send them a related scarf, that you just came out with, an offer for a related scarf that you just came out with. that will take the form of an email that you send them. so first you want to figure out, okay, who are all my customers who have bought these gloves and then I'm going to use that list to send them the email for the scarf. to build that list, you would do something like this: you can see here that we've segmented by deal stage to know who has purchased, and then we segmented by a specific product which you can find and deal, deal property, product property and then the name of that product. so you can use these segments to do pretty, to power really specific emails or workflow like we have here. another example is if that, if you make vitamins, for instance, that people take for a 30-day period, you can build a list that says: if people have ordered this product on this day, I'm gonna create a workflow that triggers a reorder email on day 20 and it be specific to their purchase. so you can started to see how you can really increase existing customer revenue. with this integration you can have these really specific workflows that power, super personalized email. it really kind of modernize your, your marketing and they're gonna increase customer revenue. the very cool thing about this integration is that, once it's active, what feels kind of like a new version of HubSpot emerges, and a great example of this- our pre-built workflows. so inside of the settings is where you'll find everything related to this integration. you see, there's ecommerce inside of the settings. now it's also where you'll find your pre-built workflows. so here are three of the most common workflows ecommerce businesses use and you'll find them in the settings. at some point in the very near future, all of these will move into workflows, but the three workflows are in customer welcome emails, abandoned cart nurturing and customer reengagement campaign. so let's just take a look at one of these really quickly. so what we've done here is pre build all the logic into your workflow that you need to execute this tactik so you can just build the creative, toggle it on and then it's live. and in an hour of building that creative and setting it live and making sure that everything's right. you can have a full-fledged abandoned cart nurturing tactik strategy, in effect, helping you recover those abandoned carts. there's nothing. there's someone putting a purchase in their cart and not buying it. it's such a good signal that there have two highly qualified building these campaigns to win them back is a really effective way to create a marketing campaign quickly. that's just gonna increase average average revenue and lifetime value. so another new feature that emerges when you connect Shopify is an e-commerce report - bored. all of the reports you find here are pre-built. you can customize them if you want to, but we just want to make it really easy for you to get started with some of the most common ecommerce reports that we know of. this really helps you understand a few things, including which channels work best, which channels are bringing in the best customers, the most revenue, the most lifetime value. another great report here is abandoned cart recovery. how is that going? how's your new abandoned cart nurturing that you just put in place working? you'll see all of your order and deal data from Shopify inside of these reports and also in other marketing reporting, so you can really tie all of your campaign in marketing efforts back to the new business that you've generated. so these are the big ecommerce features right now. we email is also integrated with a lot of this data, and so you've got different, all of your different data coming in from Shopify. I can power all of your marketing, but outside of just these three specific e-commerce features, you also have the entire power of HubSpot to help grow your business. this includes a powerful website building tools, SEO and content strategy tools, email marketing, social media marketing, Facebook and Google Ads integrations. you've got a powerful database with segmentation and automation to power at all. we all we have a new customer.

Demo Hubspot and Shopify Integration

hello everybody. visas are touched from in credo and today I want to give you a quick demo on how our hubs public Shopify integration works. this demo is specifically for adamant code who were interested in our hubs for development capabilities. this is a very first demo demonstrating very basic integration between hub spot and Shopify. so we are going to test it again today. so what? what I'm going to do is I go to API dot in credit CEO and slash registered PHP. so I'm going to register an account here so I can connect my hub spot with jockey by my first name, my email. I'll choose a password. next important steps is: this is demo. we have to put manually once our apps with API key in order to do this. to do this, you have to come to your hub spot portal, go to in, go to settings, go to integrations- sorry- and then on the on the bottom left you should see get your hub spot API key. once you are here, you should click generate new key in further versions of the product. we want to automate this, but since this is the first version, we have to do it manually. so you put your your hotspot API key and then the next thing you need to put here is your Shopify URL. in order to do this, you have to come to your admin portal of your Shopify account, go to apps on bottom left, and then you have to take your private apps. if you don't have a private app, you are going to create one, which is very straightforward. if you already have one, you should click to your private app and get your show people Shopify example URL. we are going to copy it and paste it here. so click register and you are registered with our integration tool. alright? so since we have already been registered here, I'm going to sign into my portal. my email is cutting creditors, Eon. I'll type my password here. sign in. cool, so everything is connected. this is our test dashboard on how the integration works, and we are going to show some Dayton curves here later. so what you are going to? you are going to click update. so we have got all our data pulled from top spot. you can see the latest orders here- first name, last name- and then we can have bunch of columns here as well. so what we are going to see now is all contacts from Shopify RM are in hub spot as well. these are the latest customers, their life cycle stage or musician. the customer will work on that, but at the end of the day, the goal is here to show all Shopify customers in our hospital. I want to test is to create an order from Shaka Phi. that will automatikally come to power hotspot portals, so I'll create an order. find products, so let's pick this one, assuming that I want to order this product, having to order. then assuming that I want to create an order for for this user named up Guardian, okay, okay, perfect. so I have created an order for this guy which is in our hot spot photo, like this guy. it does not have any order here, so I will create one. Marcus paid. so this customer I have created an order for here and this is already paid. so what I'm going to do now: I'll click update in my Shopify hotspot tool so it will make an update and once I come here and I refresh, all the latest transactions from this customer are appearing in their timeline. the next goal is to create a deal based on what product they are buying and much more enhance functionalities that, with my team, we expect to have in this product up and running. again, this is a very first demo of this product that we are creating internally. so there are a bunch of things that are that are class to come in this platform in further milestones. thanks very much for your attention. hope this this was helpful.
