The Secret to keeping PERFECT Shopify Inventory 2021

what's up, guys? in this video, i'm going to be going over how to keep track of all of your inventory inside of your shopify store. i'm going to be going over just the beginners: how to keep track of inventory, what goes on when you are making sales and your inventories being deducted, or how you can add inventory, as well as how you can also set up bundles inside of your shopify store. setting up bundles is something as simple as you selling one sku multiple times on different listings and making sure that all those singular skus are being tracked at the same time. i will also be revealing the application that i actually use that helps me do bundling inside of my shopify store. all the basics- everything that you need to know about keeping track of your inventory inside of your online store. [Music]. by the way, my name is hannah garner and, if you are new, the channel i tok about everything and anything that has to do with digital entrepreneurship and e-commerce- building brands online, so if that is something that you're into, make sure that you do go ahead and subscribe to the channel. yeah, all right, guys, we're live. so i am going to show you the inside of my computer screen right now and basically give you a breakdown of how you can keep track of your inventory inside of shopify. so, as you can see in here, in all products i have selected a product here and where you actually go to see your inventory inside shopify is from the product listing itself. so, as you can see, you add your price. this is where you add your photos, your description. i'm sure you're familiar. when you scroll down here, you're going to see something that says quantity available. now you have an option here, one to track quantum quantities, which you want to make sure that that's filled, as well as inputting a skew. so you want to make sure that you on your back end have individual skus for all of your items. there's a lot of information on the internet of how you can actually set up skus that make it intuitive and make sense for your business model. this is an example of what a sku may look like. and then, if you want to select, continue when selling out of stok, if you know that you're, you can make infinity of the item or you can get the product super fast, or if, whatever it is, you want to oversell, even if you go out of stok, you want to make sure that this is selected right here. again, you don't want to over sell and not have the stok available. so this option right here is really only for people that know that they're going to have infinity inventory. so even though they sell out on the website, it's not going to put it sold out. there'll still be an option to buy. if you uncheck this, then obviously when the inventory goes to zero, it will say sold out. live on your website. now this is where you can add in your quantity here. now a few things to note is that when something is bought from your store, it automatikally is deducting the inventory live in real time for you. in the case someone wants to return an item when you come in here, as you can see, um, this is a refund page. it's a little bit cut off the top, but basically you would go to the order. you can click refund at the top of the page. it's going to bring you to a page that looks like this: you're going to say how many items they're returning. so you would say one and then you just want to make sure that this is checked here, that so it's going to actually restok the item for you and in real time it's going to put that inventory back into the overall quantity. so then you can go back and resell it. all right. so we're back into the product page here and, as i mentioned before, you want to make sure that you do have a sku, you want to make sure you're keeping track of quantity and you want to decide based off your own store if you're going to continue to sell without a stok. so you come in here and you literally can just adjust the quantity by however many that you want. so you can go 20, you can adjust it by whatever it is here, and then you just want to save it at the top right corner of the page. one thing that is really, really important is that, say, you're setting up this product here and this product has different variants. so to do that, you want to scroll down here and select: this product has multiple options. so if you say you're selling- you know these arrow studs in a pack of one or a pack of two or a pack of three, so- and you want to set up a variation for that, you would come down here and you would select the variation type that you're selling. so i'm going to say: style: one pack, then you have a two pack and then a three pack, right, and so when you do that, it drops it down here. now remember that even though you're tiknically selling the same product but you're bulking or you're bundling things together- which is a really, really good way to sell and adds more value to your listing- when you see that they can buy two of the same item for maybe a slightly cheaper price, it's a really really big selling point and i always recommend for people to do that if it makes sense for their products. but what you have to remember is that when you bundle a product together, so shopify doesn't know the difference between this and this, and this shopify thinks that these are all three different variants, which means they're three different products. but what they don't know is that it's actually the same product being sold in three different ways. so the problem with this is that you can come in here and give quantities to each one of these, but when someone buys from the two pack, it's not going to deduct it from the one pack. so your inventory is always going to be miscalculated from your back end. so if you have a hundred of these and you sell, you know 22 packs, that means that you just had 40 get deducted from your inventory, but these two options to buy don't know that. so this causes a lot of overselling inside your shopify store. and one thing that i actually used to combat this is something called some tracker. so some tracker. it looks like this: this is the inside of my sum tracker application. it is a shopify app. i do have the link in the description and this lets me do a lot of things. it lets me sync different stores together. so it lets me sync my etsy, my shopify store, together, so i'm not only keeping track of bundles, but i'm also keeping track of bundles and duplicate listings inside of etsy that i also have inside my shopify store because it's the same store. so everything is very, very, you know, happening in real time and because i use this, i actually don't ever have to come into my shopify store to adjust my quantity because i control all of my inventory inside of my sum tracker app. so when i set my stok here- so if i go to adjust stok and set stok and i basically come here and i hit add new and i add a line and i look up, i look up a skew here, i come in here and i set the stok from here and then it sets the stok on my shopify store and any duplicate listing where i may have. you know i'm selling the same product but in multiple different types of ways on my store between shopify and etsy. that is now. the next level of that is when you're trying to bundle. so like in the example over here where we have a one pack, a two pack and a three pack. so if i come here and i get one, say this is the same skew, but we're selling two, and then we're selling the same skew again, but three, and say we just we're gonna make this an active product. we're not gonna put any pictures in there, we're just gonna, we're gonna save it here and we're gonna make this live on the store for one second. we're gonna come down here and we're gonna look up this item inside of our sum tracker. so this is the bundle. so this, this bundle, is comprised of three one packs. so to set this inside of some tracker, we would come in here and hit bundles. we would say: add new bundle. it's going to say: what are you trying to bundle? so we have this product here? okay, here it is. and now we want to say: what is this bundle comprised of? so this is comprised of. it is comprised:

POS: How to connect a barcode scanner || Shopify Help Center

when a customer is ready to check out and it's time for you to add products to the cart, you want the process to be as simple and efficient as possible. for a quick checkout, consider using a barcode scanner from the shopify hardware store. keep watching for a step-by-step guide on barcode scanner setup in the all new shopify pos. hey everyone, it's jamal from shopify. before we start with the hardware setup, let's cover a few important details. first, you need to make sure you're using a barcode scanner that is supported by shopify. there are two models. you can use the socket mobile, s700 1d and s740 2d. you can buy both barcode scanners directly from the shopify hardware store. check out the link in the description below to see what hardware is available in your area. second, the barcode scanner must be paired with an ios device via bluetooth, and you need to confirm that both your device and shopify pos have bluetooth enabled. open the settings app on your device and tap bluetooth. be sure the bluetooth button is toggled on. then scroll to the shopify pos app and toggle on the bluetooth button there as well. you'll also need to grant the pos app permission to your device's camera, so toggle on the camera button here too. now you're ready to set up your barcode scanner? let's get started. in the shopify pos app you can connect your hardware in a few different ways. the first is to tap the menu icon and open up the settings, then scroll to the hardware section and select setup hardware. you can also use the hardware connectivity manager in the bottom right hand corner of the shopify pos. either method brings you to the same screen. on the hardware screen, tap barcode scanner from the selection of hardware. then follow the on-screen prompts and turn on the barcode scanner by holding the small power button until it beeps twice. tap next and you'll see a barcode appear which is used to set the barcode scanner into pairing mode. use the barcode scanner to scan the code on the screen. you'll hear the scanner beep three times to indicate that it's in pairing mode. after the scanner has beeped, tap next step on the new screen. select view available devices and a pop-up will appear on your device with the barcode scanner listed after a few seconds. confirm that the correct scanner is showing by checking the bluetooth address on the back of the barcode scanner. the last six digits should match what is showing in the pos app. tap the scanner name so that it pairs with the device. when the scanner is paired you see a setup complete screen. tap done and read through the hardware overview. on the next few screens you can check the connectivity of all your devices in the hardware connectivity manager. here you see the barcode scanner we just connected. you can tap the scanner's title for information like the battery percentage, serial number and support on how to use the device. now you're ready to start using the barcode scanner to scan items to the cart. for more videos on the shopify pos app and shopify hardware, subscribe now. if you have any questions, comment below or contact us directly at helpshopifycom questions.

How To Barcode Clothes With Shopify (Online and Storefront Friendly)!

hey guys, it is charlie from charlotte's closet boutique, and today i am going to make a youtube video dedicated to barcoding your products through shopify. i get a lot of questions about this on tiktok, so i just thought i'd make a quick video to show you guys how simple and easy it is. so, yeah, let's jump right into it. actually, before i start, i do want to say the obvious: you do have to have a shopify store. i don't know how this would work for other e-commerce websites, like squarespace and all that, but i'm pretty sure they have their own barcoding systems. i specifically have shopify, so i know this works for me. okay, so for today's example, we just have this crabbed sweater and here is the product um tag. this is our product tag, and then on the back side, we just have the product label with the amount, the name of the item, and it also shows the size and the color and the product um. okay, so i am currently on my shopify back end. the app that you're going to need is called the retail barcode labels and you can download that in the app store um through shopify and it's completely free. you're also going to need a dymo label writer or any label writer. it would really work, but i prefer the dymo one because it goes well with the shopify barcode system, so that's why i like the dymo. please excuse my nails, but these are the barcode labels that i use, um, for my products, and i just get them off amazon and you get one roll of 500 labels. i'm also going to show you, guys, the diamond labels that i use for my jewelry, and this is the dymo labels: um, here is the size, and they usually look like this when you put them on your jewelry as well. so both of these work in this diamond label here. you're also going to need some product tags, as i showed you. these are what mine look like, and i made these on vistaprint. so, yeah, those are all the things that you'll need. when i say this is so easy, it is so easy. so, of course, you're going to want to make your product in shopify and then, once you do that, you're going to want to go to the actual products. so let me go to the actual product here. okay, so i'm at my actual products. um, so i- this is the product for the um crop sweater that i showed you, and so what you want to do is, once you've created the products, you're going to want to go to more actions. you want to click create barcodes, and my barcodes are already created. but you have two options. you can create barcodes only for products or brands that don't have barcodes yet. that's, if you know, you have some labels, like maybe small and medium that have barcodes, but the large doesn't have a barcode yet. that's what you would use that for, um. or you can replace any existing barcodes with new ones, and that's literally just you replacing barcodes for existing ones that are already on the product. like i said, i already have barcodes on these products, so i'm not going to change them, but you would just create, click create barcode. so before you print your barcodes, you're going to want to create a template. so these are the two templates i have, which are the clothing labels, which is the first, um that, the demo labels that i showed you guys, and then my jewelry labels as well. so you can also search templates here. or you can create a template. so you would search a template if you had like thousands of templates, but clearly i don't only have two. so you would go to create template and you would name it. you would say jewelry or clothing or whatever it's for, and then look. so this is why i said i like the dymo um, because, like shopify kind of already has this implemented into their system and then they also have like zebra. i'm not sure what zebra is, because i've never used zebra. i have heard of avery. avery is also really good as well. so it just depends on what type of label printer that you have. um, so i will look into that here. you can basically select what you want to be shown on your label um, so the product name is required. you have to skew the price. variant option one, and you see me click that. it shows the size. i bring option two: it shows the color, but it just depends on what your varying option one and two is. i don't have a variant option three: oh, so this is just an example, i'm sorry. so it actually shows you like, okay, large blue and then a long leggings. that would be option three, but that's not a real option that i have. you can put the vendor, if you want, and put the vendor right there, or you'll put like a custom text, something like that, and then you have an option if you want to display the barcode symbol or not. so it shows it like that as well, but okay so. yeah, so you're going to want to create a template, as shown here, which, again, is very easy. if you have other labels that you would use, you can choose a paper brand. it looks like they only work with avery, daimler and zebra, so keep that in mind. um, dymo, they literally have only three: which is the jewelry, multi-purpose, which is the clothing, and then a return address. so also keep that in mind. but okay, so, since i already have my labels created, i'm gonna go back and you can literally print labels two ways. um, you can print them just like how i showed you, when you go to the actual product page and print it, or you can just click print labels when you go to the app and then you just type in the item. so i'm gonna type in the dahlia cable net- i don't know how to spell my own product dolly. okay, there you go. okay, so i'm just gonna click the item, or you can click the size, whatever. but i just want to show you, guys what it would look like. so it's going to come up like this and i'm going to choose clothing labels, because that is what's loaded into my demo label right now and i can choose to set number of labels to match items in stok. so if i choose this, it's going to pop up what i actually have in stok and then i can print that. if i don't want that to happen, i just close, i just choose, set number of labels to zero and say i just want to print one medium label. i can do that, um, so it also shows here like what the paper size is going to be for the label that you choose. so, um, that's good to point out as well. so, again, you just click print, this is going to come up and if you have a um apple device, it pretty much will look like this. and then, of course, you want to choose your printer, which is the demo label writer for me. so my labels are already set up, so it's automatikally going to pull all this information up when i click print. and i'm just going to click print and it comes out just like that. i don't know why my camera is not focusing. i really don't know why my camera's having a hard time focusing. but, um, like i just showed you, you literally just print off the um label and then you'll put this label on the back of your tag, of your product tag. um, just like how i have it here. so, yeah, and then i just use a tag and gun to tag this into my products and that's literally it: [Music]. all right, you guys. so that concludes today's video. i hope that it was How to Manage the Inventory in Your Shopify Store

Hello and welcome to another episode. my name is Christian from BitBranding and today we're gonna go over how to manage your inventory and Shopify. first thing one do is head over to products and then inside of products you'll see this drop-down list. you may have already added some of the products and I've already created this products with inventory in mind. so think about inventory: as you know, you have physical goods and these physical goods live in a storage, maybe your garage, maybe you have in an actual you know facility, the handles, a lot of these things. but you want to make sure that you tracking the inventory, because Shopify automatikally deducts inventory based off of when someone purchases the product. so that part is automatik. what's not automatik is actually adding inventory into your store. so I'm just gonna walk through really quickly how to do that. now, if you see here the colorful bones already have a 12 inventory- 1212 in stok as far as inventory. now if I click on that under scroll down here to the bottom, you'll see that under inventory I have a check mark to track inventory and then the quantity: have 12 available if you have variants, and then we can go ahead and add that right here. so you'll see, maybe we sell this, buy the box. so maybe small, medium and large. now, because we did that, we only had 12 in inventory. it will just assign it to that first one. so let's say, maybe we just have six of these, we have six of these and six, and it's safe. that's how you add inventory and at inventory to your variant at the same time. if you don't have variants, then all you have to worry about is just the regular inventory. now, when it comes to changing some of these, once you have your variants set up, then you just hit on the arrows up and down to let it know that you have new shipments or more quantity of that partikular item. now I'm gonna go ahead and save that and I'm gonna show you when you create brand new products- so I add a new product- you would go through the same process of adding the name, description, images, pricing and things like that. now, when it comes to inventory- here this will probably be- are already automatikally checked for you: track quantity. if you don't want to track quantity, obviously you would just uncheck that. but when you click on track quantity, it gives you the option for you to add the quantity that you have on hand. another thing: if you receive shipments pretty often, then you can probably check mark this one, which is continues to sell the products even when they're out of stok from your Shopify store. maybe you're during a busy season, you actually have shipments coming in and you know that you will have these shipments coming in. then you can probably check mark that because you'll probably be able to turn those orders around pretty quickly. that's about it. once you click on track quantity, the quantity will be there. now, like just like I said previously, if you add the variants- this product has multiple options like different sizes or colors- then you would have to do that individually for each variants. so we did the size. maybe we can change this to color and we have blue, red, green and it works the same way as before. you would have to manually come in here and change the quantity of those variants within here. that's it. you just saved the product and I'm gonna cancel out of that or discard that new product, discard changes and then here at a glance you will be able to see in Shopify is kind of cool because it shows you on yellow that you're running low in stok for this partikular item and it will just show you right here within the inventory. if you're not tracking the inventory, it will just show you an an A, so that you're not tracking inventory for that partikular item. you can also go to the inventory tab over here and if you deal with large and volumes of different products and different things like that, you can just go straight to inventory and add your inventories as that they come in, essentially, so you can add- let's say, you getting 20 of these, you can click on save and I'll switch it to. you have those available. now. when it comes to those variants, it will break it down here to a small, large medium on those variants so you can add those individually within the inventory tab. so the inventory tab is very useful if you have large amount of product within your store. so that's it very important to keep track of your inventory just to make sure that you don't sell out and, like I said, Shopify automatikally Adding Barcodes into Shopify POS

i wanted to make this video because i didn't know how to do this and i just kind of figured it out and there wasn't really a good video um on the line. so i just bought this little register and we own a bicycle shop in bloomfield, new mexico, and we're kind of new to this retail thing- i mean, definitely new to the bike shop thing. um, see, i was going to show you guys how to put a barcode into um your shopify, so you can use this little scanner um. so i don't know how to do this. so, basically, whenever you are adding a product- we're adding these crankbrothers mallets- you fill out your info and then, when you get down here to inventory, you can put in the sku- i put that in that's on the website- and then, for barcode, push that little button and then your camera comes up on your ipad and all you gotta do is put this where it can read it boom, and you don't push nothing. once it like gets centered, it just does it um, and then it takes a little while for the numbers to pop up in there, but that's it. and then um track quantity. i have one in stok. keep editing, go back um shipping. uh, i believe these are like pretty heavy. uh, i don't know, i think they're. i don't know what their grams are, but i'll just put: um, i think they're 400 grams, that's what they are. and then collections pedals is where they show up in my website, my online store. so i want- no, not platform puzzle clip list, pedals and pedals, that's it. put my price in my cost, hit save. and then, uh, and that's it. so we, um, you can go home kind of refresh this. and then now what we do? we open up our point. oh, so you do that inside of this app. and then your point of sale- you use the scanner- is inside of this app. so when we were adding products, we were in this shopify app which looks like that, just a shopify. this one says point of sale. so we're gonna go into our point of sell and, uh, that's it. so if we're just here and then the customer like, bust these off off the shelf and they're like, hey, i want those. um, this is it. you just grab your little scanner, boom, there they are, crankbros mallet threes just showed up. so exciting, i didn't know it was that easy. uh, i wish shopify would like: i don't know, it took me a while to figure that out, probably because i'm an idiot. but anyway, thanks for watching. hope that helps you guys.

Update Shopify product inventory and create orders with Quick Scan using a barcode scanner

hi, there. today i will be showing you on how to manage your product inventory and creating orders with quick scan. as easy as it might seem. all you need to do is connect your barcode scanner to your device. once you have quickscan, you will see the main page, which is the product inventory. you can use any of these update methods and start scanning. let's run through some example. there are two examples here, both with 10 and stok. i'm going to add a stok, which is displayed to my store. now, simply click on increment, set the quantity of each scan to one, setting the right location and scan. as you can see, the transaction is displayed in the session below and the update is real time and reflected on my store. refresh the page and will show the new quantity of the spray, which is 11.. decrement: same step, but will actually deduct. this time i'm going to display the quantity and override it. simply choose show quantity and make sure the right location and scan. once confirmed that the stok shown is the same as in store, choose, set quantity to 20 and start scanning. so this is the coffee stain. okay, all right, we will go back to the store and check. as you can see, the coffee stik is now 20.. all right, so you can see that the product only exists in one location. to transfer the stok to a different location, simply choose shift, set the location you want to shift it to and put it the quantity that you desire. so the 10th stok will be deducted from the current location and added in the new location. so let's go back to the store to check refresh. all right, so you can see it's 10 in the new location and remaining 10 in the previous location. that's all for product inventory. moving on to the green order, you can choose the location and scan the product to add to the order. okay, one scan is for one. you can add multiple products by simply scanning the barcode. okay, so now it's the coffee. all right, you can remove the specific product from the order or adjust the quantity. there. you can save it as draft, mark it as pay or even fulfill once choose is paid. so we save the order and the order is created in the session below. so let's verify it again by going back to orders in the shopify admin. click on the latest order. all right, the order is created with the products. you can also reset the session, as well as download the orders you created in csv file. that's all from us. leave us a comment below if you have any question. thank you and have a great day.
