Shopify Email Marketing Automation | Abandoned Checkout | Workflows

the shopify marketing automation tool is crazy powerful. you no longer need to spend hundreds of dollars to send marketing emails to customers and try to recover them. however, these automations are a little bit hard to set up correctly, so we're gonna create two must must-have automations for your shopify store and i will explain how they work. by the end of this video, you will have the knowledge to create your own automations that will save you money and make your life a lot easier. hey guys, it's the ecom bulk here, and today you're learning how to automate your shopify store, so let's get started in three, two, one, yeah, all right. so the first automation that we're going to create will be to recover an abandoned car. when a customer fails to finish their checkout, this automation will send them an email after just one hour saying, hey, what happened? you didn't finish the checkout, come by. they don't do it, it's gonna send them another email after 24 hours reminding them again. now, if they don't do it, it's gonna send them a third email after 72 hours, and this time is gonna be special because it will include a coupon code so that the customer gets convinced and finally buys. so let's see how we can do this. to create this automation. we're gonna go to marketing and then automations. right here, we're gonna click on create automation and then custom email automation. here is where we will create our entire workflow. now, every automation starts with a trigger. you can see here all of the possible triggers that shopify allows us to use. now for this one, we are going to start with the trigger that customer abandons the checkout. the next step will be to select an output and we are going to use a condition [Music]. so we select condition here and we're going to click on add criteria. now these are the criterias and we're going to use this to check if the customer actually had some items in their checkout. so we're gonna click on abandonment and then abandon checkout. payload, click on total price set and then chop money. we're gonna click on amount and we want to make sure that the amount is greater than zero dollars. okay, when shopify detects that the customer abandons the checkout, this automation will get started. then it's gonna check if they had something in their cart. now the next step would be to wait one hour, so we're gonna do that by action. we're gonna type here weight, select that action and here how long do we want it to wait. so we're gonna wait for one hour. so one hour good. now we need to check for something else, because imagine that the customer tried to finish the checkout. it fell, but then it came back five minutes later and it completed the checkout. we don't want to start several automations for that same client, so we're gonna add something here. we're gonna create another condition, add a criteria. let's go to abandonment and then let's choose: customer has not ordered since abandoned. so here, if customer has no order since abandonment is equal to true, then it will continue the flow. and then the next thing that we want to do is add another action, and this action will be to actually send the email. we click on action and we're gonna click on send marketing email. i'm gonna explain the difference between send email and send marketing email on one of our other automations. so let's just click on send email- marketing email for now- and we're gonna select email template. so right here, we're gonna choose a previewed abandoned checkout template. i'm gonna select it, but we're gonna make a few changes. your card is ready for checkout, continue checkout and then the items that you left on your card. now i want to make a few changes because i want this to be a little bit more personal and also i want to add a special image that is going to attract customers to buy. we're going to add a little bit of text here: hi. then we're going gonna use one of the magic tools here and we're gonna put first name, so this will always populate with the first name of the person. you've placed items in your shopping cart or didn't complete the checkout. we saved the card for you, so none of the items run out. all right, then items left in shopping cart. i'm gonna leave this as it is and we're going to drag an image right here. the purpose of this final statement, this final image, is so that the customer can envision themselves already with the package in their hand. you know, they're just so close to having it. just finish the checkout. so then we're gonna go up here, select the subject, your order status, then for the preview text, we're gonna put action required. did you finish your checkout? and here we're gonna send it to all customers. we're ready, let's just click on save and that's it. but let's check it out one more time. so this workflow will start when the trigger customer abandon checkout happens. all right, it's gonna have an output and it's gonna check if the amount on the card is greater than zero. okay, the value, the monetary value. now it's gonna wait for one hour before doing anything else and then it's gonna check again just to make sure that the customer hasn't checked out since this workflow started. okay, we don't wanna send repetitive emails to the customers. and then, if that's true, then it's gonna send a marketing email. so let's turn on the workflow. ready to start? yes, all right, so the workflow has started. now, every time somebody abandons the checkout is gonna send them an email. now, to send the other two emails, we have to basically duplicate the same automation, but just with a different parameters. i'm gonna show you which parameters you will have to change. you only have to change the wait time. just change it to 24 hours. all right, the rest is going to be the same. and, of course, change the email a little bit. you say, hey, this is another reminder, you know, check out. and for the third email, you're gonna change again the time. i'm gonna put 72 hours [Music] and you're gonna change the marketing email again. this will be the third email that we will send to the customer. so are you still thinking about it? don't think too much. here's 20. this is the coupon code. you have to activate it on your shopify store before and then continue checkout, and they can just use that coupon code. the same, everything's the same here. so for the subject, we're gonna address them by their name. alejandro, are you still thinking about it? preview text: get 20 off on your items left in your car and then click on save and that will be your third email. for the second automation, we're gonna do something a little bit different. imagine that it takes you two or three days to make the product and ship it once you receive the order. so this automation will check and make sure that if after five days, that order hasn't been shipped, it's gonna send an email to your internal staff- whoever handles the shipping or whatever department you wanna send it to- just to tell them: hey, this order is over five days old, you better ship it now, or what's going on. and then it's also gonna send an email to the customer saying, hey, we're still working on your order. you will receive it very soon. let's see how it's done. so, again, we're gonna click on custom email automation. for the trigger, we're gonna choose order created and then, after an order gets created. we're gonna wait, so we're gonna add an action. the action will be: wait, and we're gonna wait for five days. so five days, all right. then we're going to add a criteria. so let's add a condition and click on condition here, add criteria. so here we're gonna click on order and then we're gonna type fulfillment, all right, and we're gonna click on display fulfillment status. we're gonna make sure that if the fulfillment status is equal to unfulfilled, then we're gonna do an action, and this action will be to send a marketing email. and here you will do the email, just like we did it last time, but just you know, to tell the customer: hey, we're working on your order, wait a little bit. after this condition is met. we're doing this action, sending the marketing email, but we also

HUGE SHOPIFY UPDATE!! Create Email Automation Workflows and More! TUTORIAL

hey guys, it's the ecom bull here, and today i'm bringing you super good news. shopify has finally released automation workflows which will allow you to create automated welcome, win, back or upsell emails, all within shopify. you will have access to an automation editor where you can edit the conditions, view the summary page that shows the status of your workflow, email results and much more- everything for free. i got early access to these two and i've been playing around with it for a little bit, and now i'm ready to show you how to set it up. so let's get started in three, two, one [Music]. okay, so let's get started. so, to access the new marketing automations, you're gonna go to your shopify admin and click on marketing, and then automations, and click on create automation and right here, this is all new. all new. before. you cannot do that. before you had to use different apps, some of them paid, but right now, everything is here, so i'm super excited about this. um, we're going to start with a welcome new subscriber automation, because what i want to do is check this out. if you go to my website and just scroll all the way to the bottom, you can see how i am offering a 10 discount if you put your email there and sign up for the newsletter. i also have a pop-up, but on every single page. you can see this thing at the bottom, and before i had to use third-party tools. so let's try this with the official shopify automations. so as soon as the customer enters their email, i want to send them a message with a coupon code: welcome, blah, blah, blah. and here's your coupon code. now you can buy, and if they don't buy, i have their emails so i can retarget them later. so, very important: always you have to offer something. okay, offer something in exchange for their email. so let's go back here to the automation panel and click on welcome new subscriber. and this is the workflow editor. okay, here is where you specify the the campaign start. here's where you put the conditions and then also where you put what to do if these conditions are met. okay, it already pre-populates. okay, with some basic stuff, because we chose welcome new subscribers and here you can see that the campaign- well, the workflow- will start when a customer subscribes to email, but it's gonna check if the subscription method is not equal to checkout, because sometimes when people subscribe, it's because they just went to checkout and they put their email you don't want to send them a coupon code after they already purchased. they're gonna feel horrible. okay, don't do that. you wanna, you wanna make sure that you're sending this coupon before they check out. once they check out, no, they already spent the money. i'm sorry, you know so. okay, so it's gonna check for that, and then what's it gonna do is gonna send a marketing email automatikally, instant. okay, so let's click here because we want to modify the email and we're going to click on edit email content. so let's put a subject for this welcome email. thank you for joining. here is your discount code and now. this is just like the regular email editor that shopify has, super simple to use. i'm gonna quickly prepare the email. to apply the discount, you have to already have a discount. it doesn't generate automatik new discounts. you have to have one and you can change it every once in a while. if you don't want people- you know all of these websites- that they get your coupon codes and then put them there online. that's super annoying, but well, you will have to, you know, change it every once in a while. so you can just go back to your shopify and just click on discount. here you'll just create discount discount code. choose the code. i just put motif 10, sub 19.. it is representative to me. i know that i created it on november 19th, you know, and also the. the customer will think that is an automatikally new, generated just for him. okay, so serves double purpose. let's choose percentage: 10 percent. i'm going to apply it to all the products, no minimum required. everyone can use it. i'm not going to limit the number of times it can be used, because many people are gonna get this coupon and i'm not gonna limit to one use per customer. you know, i'm okay with giving ten percent every time. click on save discount code and that's it. now let's go back here where it says you click on the discount, click on select discount and there it is. let's add an image so the customer can visualize him already having the product in his hand, getting it delivered for 10 off. actually. let's try to put it up here, okay. so i just finished the email and i added a little emoji right here on the subject, just so it pops up when they open the email and just have some basic text: the image: i have the discount that they can click, or they can just copy this and paste it on checkout. i have six products here, some of the best selling ones, then social media links and a little closing statement right there. so we'll click on apply changes and boom, this is what they will receive. okay, so let's close that and the workflow is finished. so we just have to activate it right here. turn on. i have to remember to disable the other apps that are sending an automatik email when people subscribe, because if not, they're gonna receive two emails. so i gotta remember that. do that if you have another app. so that's done. let's click on exit. now let's do another automation, but this time i want to send a thank you email, a personal thank you, for everybody that purchased on the site the first time. okay, because i want to create also another one for when they are a repeat customer, showing even more gratitude. okay, so how can we do that? so let's click on first purchase, upsell- right, it's gonna give us the, the basic, a configuration, and then we just change whatever we need. so start when the order is paid, perfect, the customer purchase, and then he's gonna wait for 14 days. no, i don't want to wait 14 days. i want to express gratitude soon. i don't want it instant because it's a personal email that i'm writing right, so i'm gonna put: i'm gonna change this to hours and i'm gonna change this to 12 hours, so we're gonna wait 12 hours. then we're gonna check if the customer accepts marketing, they order and this is a thank you emails. we're gonna delete that step and we're just gonna go to the last step. we're gonna send them a marketing email. so let's create the email really quickly. we want to make it personal, so let's add text right here. i'm gonna delete that and we're gonna put hi. and then we're gonna use one of the magic automatik- you know fillers- and we're gonna choose first name and this is gonna populate. it's gonna read the order, the. the customer shopify knows the customer name, so it's gonna say hi, first name, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. so now it's more personal. so the thank you email is finished and the subject will be thank you, the name and a little heart. and then we appreciate your support. hi, the first name. i just wanted to take a second to thank you for your business and for your recent purchase from our store. i hope that you love your new fitness, where you put whatever you sell, and we hope that it motivates you. thank you for supporting a small company with big dreams. if you have any questions or if there is anything else that i can help you with, please reach out to me without hesitation. the social media, and, you know, to make it more personal, use a photo of, in this case, me, right, so apply changes. and now we have the thank you email ready. so whenever they order after 12 hours they will get a very personal thank you email and i'm gonna tell you, it really works a lot. i have gotten many, many emails saying, oh, thank you so much. i'm glad to support and you know you can get to know your customer if you start a conversation. a lot of times they repeat the purchase. you know they buy again. so it's a very powerful tool and honestly, i really mean it. i really appreciate that they buy from my store. i recommend making another automation for the next time that they purchase. okay, it can't be the same email saying, oh, thank you, i appreciate it.

Best Shopify FREE Email Marketing Apps! (MASSIVE RESULTS) 2022!

hello everyone, welcome back, and in today's video we are toking about email marketing on shopify. you're probably bombarded with all the email marketing solutions for your shopify store and there's so many options that you simply can't choose and can't say which one is the best for you. but don't worry, i got you all covered. so in today's video we are toking about why email marketing is so important, which are the most popular apps and which are the pros and the cons of each available option for your shopify store. of course, there are some reviews, but i i'm gonna say it: uh, the reviews, a lot of reviews are just bought reviews and i wouldn't be that much sure from the reviews. i'm going to tell you from my own experience, from my own shopify shops and from my colleagues experience, which one is the best solution for your email marketing on shopify. i mean, first of all, uh, i'm gonna say it, email marketing and sms marketing is so important in 2022. it's almost no cost, but it can drive so many of the sales and the conversions in 2022. so which one is the best for your shop? let's dive right in and let's explore all the solutions. i'm going to tell you pros and the cons for each one of them and yeah, let's begin. so, first off, we have clavio. what is clavio? email marketing and sms. as you can see, in the one app, you have email marketing and, uh, sms marketing, which is, uh, overpowered. i mean, this one is probably, of course, email marketing is very good, but sms marketing in 2022 is such a great, great tactik to drive more sales and more conversions on your shopify store. without email marketing and sms marketing, you can't actually get any results. so, first off, claudio: we have, i mean, we have pretty good reviews right here. uh, you can sync all your shopify data, which is pretty good. so, it's kind of clavia is not the app that i'm used most of, uh, but yeah, it's true, it's really, um, how would i even say it? it's true, truly friendly for the shopify stores, uh, which is what i like. um, there's super specific segmentation that they are calling it that way. so, sending emails and sms based on customers latest shopping behavior- uh, that's all cool, but in reality, uh, i mean first off, flavio, launched in 2012, as you can see right here, and uh, have you got, i guess, the pricing plans? uh, for free, of course, um, you have 250 contact sms free, up to 50 sms contacts. um, that's kind of okay for the- i mean- free version of the app, but i wouldn't go all the way and be so sure about it. why is that? when you go all the way up to more than 250 contacts and you drive your store, it's 20 per month, which is actually not that expensive. but five dollars per month with 150 sms contacts is not that great at all. so maybe for the beginning, it's good, uh, to have it like that, like that, for, for example, just trying it out and see if you like it this way. but if you're really looking to grow up your shopify store to some really nice heights, i would say clavio is not the app to go. so, mailchimp: there are so many controversies for the mailchimp and is it good? is it not good? um, i mean, mailchimp is here for a lot, a lot, and it's probably uh, yeah, the official launch date is in 2018, but i think they're even even, uh, older than that. um, regarding their pricing, they have a free mail based up to 2000 contacts, so free plan is pretty good. uh, you can, i mean, you have email marketing, crm, creative assistant, sign up forms, landing pages, social posting, facebook ads, instagram ads, postcards, domains and more. i mean, yeah, for the free plan, pretty good, 2 000 contacts is a lot, but, for example, you have 11 dollars per month based on the 500 contacts and, uh, 17 per month for 500 contact. so, um, yeah, this is, this is pretty. i mean, i don't even know who wrote this pricing plan, because on the premium, you have ten thousand contacts for three hundred dollars a month. so, um, even the reviews, uh, a lot of people, just yeah, for example, look look at this here- so rubbish. my account just finished topping up. i contacted them at least seven, six to seven times. no one got. but i mean the support- and i heard it for uh, for a very, very, um, several times- that support for the mail trip is terrible and that basically, it's very, very bad, optimized for the shopify stores, and definitely the mailchimp is not a way to go. and now the sms bump. so sms marketing is. i already said it, it's very overpowered in 2022. regarding the boosting the conversions, it's probably one of the best method. if you are asking me right now, of course, everyone has different opinions, but in my opinion, sms marketing is really, really good. so, what you have with the sms bump, so you have, of course, free to install and if you check their pricing plans- so it's free to install, based on country- you will be sending sms messages to starting from a 1.5 cents per text message in the usa. okay, so if we go on and check all pricing options right here, you have a free uh pricing option, which is, of course, free growth, which is twenty dollars per month. uh, and you have the pricing per sms. so, um, if you go and calculate this, it's not that big of a deal. but if you have, for example, let's say, three thousand sms's to send, it's kinda going to be costly because, for example, let's calculate it real quick right here- so you have a price of 0.0149 times. okay, sorry, i messed up nine times. uh, let's say three thousand. uh is your audience. you are paying 44 dollars per one sms bulk. so let's say that you have 30 sms books that you want to actually update your audience off, it is going to be 44 times 30. yeah, this is how much you're going to pay them per month, plus the 20 per month costs. so, yeah, this is pretty expensive. i mean, it's it's free, but it's pretty expensive. and, um, for the free plan, you have the charges that are similar and of course, you're not paying them for month. but what it is included it's support, okay, uh, yotpo integrations, roy and so on. so in my opinion, sms uh bump is a kind expensive, but really pretty good and unnec. it has nasty features. so i have used it for about three months and i can say that it works really good, but it can get pricey. um, of course, you have a lot of reviews which you can check out by yourself and decide for yourself. uh, but definitely sms bump is uh something that i would go for. so private popups, emails and sms- is probably my favorite. why is that? you have 15 day free trial. in 15 days you can test your conversion with the emails and the sms's and you have- this is the probably the worst part- you have 100 email contacts only, so it's only for 100 email contacts. you have unlimited list of growth popups, which is cool, access to all pop-up features, advanced pop-up targeting, sync and email service providers. that's all cool. but, for example, on the starter plan, which is 15 per month, you have only 250 email contacts. prices, uh, price increases every 1000 contacts, which is i don't know. it's still like i mean, all of those apps want to extract as much money as they can for from you. but um, for, for example, 45 per month, you have up to 3 000 emails and 500 sms contacts, uh, and you have one on one on boarding, which is pretty good, and you can tok to their professionals and see what you're doing good or not. so, for example, doing private combined with the sms bump could be pretty, pretty good strategy. it is more expensive, not gonna lie. you have free trials. you can test it out, but those are probably the best. um, email marketing, uh, for email marketing app for the shopify, uh, those two combined. and last but not least, you have shopify email by the shopify, and the opinions are mixed, because here's the deal you have free to install: first, 10 000 emails per month are free. then it's just one dollar for every 1000 emails. so let's calculate it real quick. let's say you have a base of 1 000 users, so you can basically send 10 emails for those 1 000 users. so it's actually one dollar per new 1000 emails, which is not too expensive. so, for example, uh, you're going to pay them one dollar per one bulk if you have 1 000 audience. so if you're doing this for the whole month. you are going to actually, yeah, you'.

Introduction to Shopify Email - Email Newsletters & Marketing Campaigns Full Walkthrough

Everybody. this is Ori from Astral Web And today I'm going to introduce to you Shopify Email. What is Shopify Email? Shopify Email is a service by Shopify which allows you to send email newsletters to your subscribers. It's built into the Shopify platform. It was just released last month. right now it's 2020.. And I would like to introduce it and kind of show you the basics of it. Overall, I really like it. Give you a few concepts. So, number one: it's really really simple. Compared to some of the other email platforms like Klaviyo or Mailchimp or these kind of things, it's much simpler to use, but on the other hand, it's also currently not so advanced. There's no automation, But for beginner users, especially small businesses, it's really easy to use and I'll walk you through it. and also, the pricing is much better. So right now it's still free, just because it got released until October 2020.. After that, it's going to be 2,500 emails per month you can send for free, And then what you're going to do is you're going to get charged $1 on your Shopify bill for every 1,000 emails that get sent. So they're not charging per subscriber. how many they're charging, how many emails you're sending out, It's really good. I've sent an email out and I want to show you how it looks, reporting how to create one and what are the basic concepts. Okay, So let's go right here. So, first of all, what I want to do is I want to go to my Marketing and Campaigns and I have my campaigns here. So campaigns have a lot of different things right. Campaigns have your Facebook ads and you know your other apps and also you have a Shopify Email right here. But before I actually create one for you, I want to show you how an email campaign that was sent outwhat's happening Here in your Campaigns general tabs. you're going to have a campaign here, for example, I created and you can see that the campaign had 696 sessions, generated $930.. And I created in this one just a coupon. This one is justI made a coupon for 15% off and I sent it to our subscribers and etc. So if I click here in the campaign- let's go here to View Report- I can see how many were delivered, how many were opened. you can see the open rates, how many people opened the emails, how many people clicked on a link in the email, how many people unsubscribed, reported as spam, and then how many visitors came to your website, how many add-to-carts. This is the funnel right, the step-by-step So: entering your website, adding to cart and orders and then the actual total amount, and it gives you some additional specs like your average order value, average number of products sold and first-time customers. Okay, So this is pretty good. You can see your conversion rates and over time, you can try to improve things. Okay, So what I'm going to do right here and this is your actual data. so this is the preview. for example, You can see on mobile and desktop here. And here's your sending, to which subscribers, which email you're sending, from the subject line and a preview text: Okay, Let's go ahead and create one. Let me show you the concept of it And, of course, let me know if you have any questions about anything here. Okay, great, So I'm going to go to Campaigns, I'm going to click on Create New, I'm going to click on Shopify Email, Okay, And now I'm going to have to obviously have a theme in mind. It's like: what am I trying to send? What am I trying to actually do here, right? So the good thing you have here is number one. you can actually use a previous email to just copy, right, You can copy things, etc. But what I'm going to do here is use the branded template. So there's these starting points, these templates that Shopify creates, for example, Featured product, Sales announcement, End of sale- and then there's going to be more coming soon. So what it basically is, it's a starting point for you to actually create something. Now, excuse me, you can create your own if you want, no problem, but it's nice to have a starting point to save a little time. So let's say I like thisand I can also use a blank right here. right, Let's say I want to do a sales announcement So I can preview this and I can see how it looks. right, I can kind of see how the email templatelooks- pretty simple. you know, Shopify style. I can select it. So let's say I want to use this as a selection. okay, I'm going to click here, click on Select, and I'm going to move on to the next step, to use this template. Okay, And so what I'm going to do is I'm going to fill up the basic information. okay, Who am I going to send to all of my subscribers or the customer groups? What is the subject line? What is the preview text, which is some extra detail. for example, Gmail displays some extra details, kind of in addition to the subject line From, and then the content. So, before we get to it, I want to explain something that's really, really powerful in Shopify and in marketing in general, which is called segmentation. So when you send emails, you can choose who you're going to send to. So the lazy way is just to create an email send to everybody that had subscribed to Shopify, but that usually is not converting. well, It's not that good, because you're basically making one campaign, one email sending to everybody, and your different customers have different wants and desires and likes. They like different products, they're in different genders, they're, you know, from different locations, They're old customers or returning customers. You have all of these different things that are in common. So what you want to do is you want to create customer groups and send out different emails fitting for them, right? different subject lines, different content, different products, all of these things. So the most important thing you want to do is know what you're trying to send and who are you trying to send to. So how do I do that? How do I create new customer groups, Which is something you got to think about a lot, right? So what I'm going to do, I'm going to go back to my Shopify backend and I'm going to click on Customers on the left, and I'm actually going to see all of my customers right here. So I'm going to go and I'm going to think about my customer type. So, let's say, I want to create a group, Just for example, I'm going to use the filter here and I'm going to create a group. For example, I want to send an email, so someone has ordered more than two times and let's say their location is just, for example, Canada. Okay, And now you need to think about more things, right? so language and many, many more things, right? So I'm going to go here. I'm going to click on Done. Okay, Now I have just two, for example. right, This filtered to two, But let's say I had more and I wanted to create this. After I do the filter, I can preview it and I'm going to click on Save And I'm going to call it the one I called. so, Canada, Repeat Orders, Repeat Orders. And I'm going to click on Save. Once I do that, two things happen. Number one: you can easily access this any time. This is like a saved segment, right, saved filter. So this is number one. Okay, Really powerful. You can use it for reports, you can use it for custom apps and, of course, you can use it for Shopify Email, which is the most important. So now I'm going to go back here, I'm going to refresh the page And if you create a customer group, usually it takes a few seconds or about a minute to create. but let's look at it right here, Okay, So I'm going to click here on All subscribers and I'm going to go here Right here. I have it right: Canada Repeat Orders. So now I created it. So now let's say I want to promote something. For example, I want a 10% off coupon for, you know, Product X, right, and I'm going to add more. So you know, for example, Limited Time Offer - 10% off Product X. Okay, Obviously, you need to think about what you're.

Klaviyo vs Shopify Email - Which Is The Better Email Marketing Software?

clivia versus Shopify email. now, this video is going to be a quick comparison. I'm going to show you basically everything that you need to know about these two email marketing tools, including what they are used for, the pricing and everything else that you need to know. so if you are interested in potentially picking up one of these email marketing tools for yourself, then keep watching, as this is going to be the most valuable video you ever watch, okay? so, jumping right into this, the first thing that I will say is the Shopify. it's not actually an email marketing tool by itself. now, what I mean by this is: Shopify is actually a website builder, right? it's where you can build like Ecom stores and sell things online. so Shopify email is just an add-on, whereas clavio, it's an actual email marketing software. it is a complete software in itself. it is built specifically for email marketing. so you're kind of looking at an add-on versus an actual tool. now that is not all about, because there's definitely some pros that Shopify do have, and I'm going to get into those and show you the. is it actually worth getting Shopify for you, and for some people it is going to be definitely worth them going for Shopify. so another thing that I will say is: if you are not using the Shopify website builder, I don't even know if you can use Shopify email either way. even if you can, it's not a good idea. so if you are not using Shopify to build your store, then go for clavio. if you're an agency, if you are an affiliate marketer, if you're a personal brand, you want to go with clavio. however, I'm guessing that most of you guys watching this video do have a Shopify store. that's why you're watching this. so you're thinking: do I go with Shopify email, make everything nice and easy and keep everything tied up in one place, or do I Branch out and go for clavio, which is more of a professional software? so I will say that that is absolutely true. right, clavio is much more advanced. with Shopify, you get a very, very basic email marketing tool where you can choose from a few nice looking templates, nothing really too fancy, a very easy to use drag and drop tool, but apart from that, like there's not really much you can do. like the most advanced thing that you can do on Shopify is the automations. so, as I say, it's a great tool, you can get your statistiks, but it's not. it's just not the most advanced in the world, whereas clavio you can get a lot more advanced tools. as I say, this is an email marketing software in itself, so they make it the best it can possibly be. so if you want to do segmentation, where you put, like, tag people and put different parts of your audience together, so, for example, you might create a segment that is like if somebody buys a plant pot, this plant pot, from your website, you would put them all in one group. if somebody purchases this shelf, you would put them all in another group. and that is where you can start to get very Advanced with your email marketing and send different emails out to different people depending on their interest. so that is a huge plus side of our clavio now as well. another thing that I should mention is that clavio offers SMS Shopify email doesn't? it's just too advanced to do it as an add-on, but clavio does. so. SMS marketing pretty self-explanatory. it's just like text messages that you can send out to people, and these are very, very powerful. I will say that I think I actually saw a statistik the other day. SMS marketing has like a 98 open rate and I mean it makes sense if you have fun pings and you get a text message, you'd open it straight away. if you get an email, you probably don't even know till two hours later anyway, and your chances of opening it are a lot lower. so SMS marketing is fantastik, and it is what it is- a tool you can use on um clavio. it is not required. you can choose whether to buy it or not. however, it is a fantastik option. and now, apart from that, let's actually go and look at the pricing. and another benefit that I will have to say quickly to Shopify is that everything is in one place like that. you can't ignore that fact. everything is in one place. it makes it very, very easy and, rather than having to use two softwares at the same time, everything is in one place. that is a very big benefit. now the pricing: so, with Shopify, the first 10 000 manual or automated emails each month are free, and then it's a dollar for every 1 000 emails you send after. so if you send 50 000 emails, it's gonna be forty dollars- yeah, forty dollars because of the price- and then you get 10 000 for free. if you send 250 000 emails, that would be two hundred and forty dollars. uh, hopefully that makes sense. now clavio: um, this is kind of it Achilles heel, because it's expensive. it is expensive now. it does have a free trial and definitely not as good as the Shopify. 10 000 free emails each month- it's actually pretty bad. you can have 250 contacts on your list, up to 500 emails a month to send and you can get some- well, 150- free SMS messages- not the best. and then the pricing. look at this. you're going to be paying a hundred dollars for 5 000 contacts per month and you can send 50 000 emails per month. so on Shopify you pay 40 for this. on clavio you pay a hundred. now I'm actually pretty sure if we turn this up, Shopify does get more expensive, uh, but yeah, actually it doesn't get as expensive as clavio. so 250 000 emails on Shopify would be two hundred and forty dollars compared to 400 on clavio. so it is a decision that you need to make. do you want to go for a much simpler um, and it's still effective, like you can send out some pretty nice emails with Shopify, but do you want to go with it cheaper and less Advanced platform and go with Shopify? keep everything in one place and just make your life a lot simpler? or do you want to go for more effective email marketing, potentially even pick up SMS, where you can Target people down even more, potentially pick up more profits if you do it right. but it actually it adds more stress to your life, more stress to your business and it is more expensive on top of that. so it is two different tools for two different people. that's what I will say. so that is clavio versus Shopify email. if you learned something from this video, or if you found it valuable in some way, don't forget to smash that like button and tap that subscribe button and until next time, take it easy.

Shopify Email Automation Workflows for Clothing Stores

Well, everyone Christian here- did you know Shopify has their own email app and you can send up to 10,000 emails for free. Let me show you what email automation workflows you need for your store using Shopify. So for the purpose of this video, I'm going to be using Shopify email, not Klaviyo, like we normally do when it comes to email marketing. We're going to use Shopify email to create automated workflows, But you can probably create the same workflows if you have something like Klaviyo or MailChimp, But I just wanted to use Shopify email because it is free- up to 10,000 emails. So for people who are just starting out, there's actually going to be super, super beneficial. Plus, it's all built in right within the Shopify ecosystem And you can do a lot of really cool things with this automation. Now I do want to point out that you will need to go to apps and look for email as part of the apps that you need to add to your store. You also probably want to add Shopify flow. if you don't know about Shopify Flow, We have created a video on Shopify Flow and you can watch that right over here, where it walks through the whole automation of things right within within Shopify. For this partikular case, we will need to have that and those two installed in order for all this, too, to work properly. I also want to mention that I will be going over certain email marketing flows. right, This automation and workflows- and you would always find them under marketing and then automation, And then in here- is where you would essentially see: automate your marketing, but it will have more of the email side of things. It's kind of a tricky place. I don't know why they have it right within here instead of having it maybe right within the email app. But, yeah, you'll have to go to marketing automation and then create automation. Now, the first automation that I want to tok about is welcoming new subscribers with that a purchase. So these are subscribers that have come into the store by signing up to the newsletter or maybe by signing up through a pop up, So they haven't necessarily made a purchase in order for them to be sort of subscribed, right, Because whenever customers go through the checkout process, they have the ability to check the box to sign up for news, promotions and all that kind of stuff. So this one is not that one that new subscribers- an email with a discount welcoming them to your store is going to be this new welcome people is. automation currently only works with the email sign up on the store's footer, So tiknically, you can't necessarily do it with the pop up, but you can do it with the store footer. Now, if you're using something like Klaviyo or some other service, you can do it through the pop up and working. email is going to be that first email someone receives when they actually join your mailing list, So you can have a welcome email for customers. But in this case, we're going to be toking about the welcome email for brand new subscribers who haven't really converted yet. So, according to the 2016 data from Omni, send, welcome emails have an average open rate of 45%. So they're thinking 45% versus, like you would typically see an 18% for promotional emails. Shoppers are actively paying attention to and engaging with these messages, So it's a great opportunity for businesses like yourself in order for them to just hit them off with a nice little discount right When they sign up for your email. Now, an effective welcome email has several goals. Obviously, you want to welcome new subscribers, You want to give users an incentive to actually purchase. You also want to set the right expectations and you want to connect subscribers on other channels. So let them know a little bit about your company, Give them a discount, let them know exactly where you're at online. If you're on TikTok making funny videos, let them know. Hey, we're on TikTok And that's the type of content that you will find on TikTok. where on Instagram- this type of content that we create on Instagram. So just giving them an overview of your brand as well as trying to incentivize them and push them to make that purchase Right. These are people who have not necessarily engaged fully with your brand. So this will be the very first email automation that I would want you to create. Like I said earlier, if you want to go to marketing automation, you want to click on that create automation right up here, And then this is going to be the one that we're toking about: Welcome New subscriber. So once you click on it, you can see the trigger is going to be when the subscriber- customers- ascribes to your email on the footer, It's the automation that's going to check if the customer didn't subscribe at checkout. So if they didn't subscribe at checkout, that means that they didn't go through and made a purchase, And if they didn't, then I want you to send this marketing email, which is going to be a welcome new subscriber. If you click on Use the Workflow, you'll see that this will actually open up Shopify flow and it will give you sort of an overview of what we just saw. But in this case, you can actually click on some of these. You can change them, you can move them around, you can add more steps to the flow if you will, And obviously we want to manipulate the content of the email right within here. So, just like we mentioned, when you welcome them, you want to tok a little bit about your brand. You want to make sure that you show them some product and then offer them some sort of discount and incentive for them to continue on right and purchase with you. So after you're done editing the email content, it's just a matter of turning on that workflow and you're good to go. So it's just that easy. Shopify makes it super, super easy in order for you to turn these workflows on. Now. the second email automation is going to be a first purchase: Thank you. Now. these drive repeat purchases with offers after the initial purchase, and this should be somewhat immediate. So the thank you flow which goes out after a shopper completes the purchase helps you foster brand loyalty by expressing gratitude to your customers for their business. So as a small thank you can actually go a long way, especially with the popularity of online shopping, where deals are sort of endless and the competition is fierce. So someone choosing your products and services, you need to make them feel special, right, With a sort of personal life Thank you Message for them. So and that's all. this is this first purchase Thank you, That's all. it is Like you're not necessarily trying to to get them to shop more, to buy more or any other discount. Anything like that is just sort of a more of a heartfelt thank you for them. Now, within this workflow, there is a different one in here, which we'll tok about a little bit later, which is the first purchase upsell. This first purchase upsell is going to be a little bit different because the first purchase Thank you. What we want to do here is get rid of the wait 14 days- because, like I said, this first purchase thank you is going to be an immediate email automation that goes out after the user has paid. So, as this here start when the order is paid, check if this is the first order made by the customer and then automatikally will jump to send this marketing email. So very simple. If you want to create this first purchase, Thank you, You can use this one. so you can click on use that workflow and then what you can do is just delete this stuff. And what we've done here is connected the checking point onto the send the email marketing it. Now, moving on to the next one, which is actually going to be the first purchase: upsell. So this one, you can drive repeat purchases with offers after the initial purchase. And then this one, just like we saw here, we're going to wait 14 days. So this cross-sell or upsell automation will help inspire struggling shoppers to find exactly what they're looking for. So you can.
