My main subtype of obsessive compulsive disorder is called Scrupulosity ⬇️ Scrupulosity OCD is basically where you are consumed by a pathological guilt and anxiety about moral issues. This can be religious, non-religious, or you can hit the jackpot (like me✨) and ‘obsess’ over both. I had feared that at my core I was an evil person and had tricked everyone around me into thinking I was good. Any nice thing I did, I always found excuses as to why I did it for selfish reasons. 🧠: “That made me feel good, therefore I did it for myself, not them”. Then I would compulsively try and find another “good” thing I could do. In my experience, I was constantly trying to “prove” to myself, God, and others that I was “good”. I was so worried that one day a switch would flip and I’d become that horrible version of myself that I feared (and fully made up). It made me an extreme people pleaser, overly apologetic, I struggled with the ability to say no if someone asked for something, I was unable to speak up for myself, and so much more. I’m so lucky that I’m almost exactly 7 years into ERP therapy. I no longer really struggle with anything in the paragraph above anymore. I still have intrusive thoughts and worries about being a good person, but at the end of the day, if I’m secretly a horrible one, there’s nothing I can do about it ✨ so now I just live my life doing my best to make myself and everyone I care about proud/happy. If you or someone you know if struggling with OCD, check out NOCD.com or click the link in my bio for a free call with one of their licensed OCD + ERP trained therapists 💗 @NOCD

This is an example of what a workout looked like for me 7 years ago when I was struggling with OCD Every workout was a bit different but every one was an ordeal There were times in my life where I forced myself to workout for hours and other times where I could only get in 10 minutes before my intrusive thoughts became too strong. I’m now 7 years into Exposure and Response Prevention therapy and I’m happy to say, OCD doesn’t affect me at all during my workouts anymore. If this is something that you are relating to, you might struggle with obsessive compulsive disorder 🫶🏻 go to NOCD.com or go to the link in my bio and schedule a free call with them 💗 @NOCD #ocd #obsessivecompulsivedisorder #mentalhealth
